Saw a mature bald eagle on a roadkill near Paris, VA yesterday. It was right on the road, but fortunately flew off.

Good Morning.
As you can see the cam has been centered on the nest. We hoped to either move the cam mount up a bit, or try a different limb, but that was not possible this year. The limb that the cam is on continues to deteriorate, and other live limbs are not big enough.
We plan a full upgrade of the cam next year, and we will engineer a mount that will allow for the optimum view.
Thanks again to our friend Nu, who was up in the nest for his ninth year. The guy is fearless as he is hoisted up on a crane cable.

Live cam season is just about up. I anticipate Outdoor Channel will be wrapping up for the season. Maintenance on the cam is scheduled for August 25.

Watched an interesting interchange today with our two juveniles. One was on a limb near the nest, the other came soaring in, and slowly landed on the head of the other, which rousted the perched bird, who flew off. Looked kinda playful and was a cool thing to see.

My apologies for the scarce posts.
I have been on travel out west and am now up north the past week or so.
I have been contacted by several folks about the future plans for the cam. We have the crane booked for August and will move to fix things during that time, with more ability to do the work carefully until literally the last available hours that we had in December.

Cam will hopefully be back up next week. The new part we got last problem was the one that was damaged by the storm/lightning.

Here's the scoop on the problem:
"I have confirmed the severe storms did damage the power box for the EagleCam. We are having a replacement unit sent to us ASAP. I won't know if the camera was also damaged until we have the replacement part. Hopefully we will be back online in a few days"
