Norma, in Fargo and area the kids 8th grade and above as well as college kids were all sent to make sandbags! Should fulfill any community service requirements!
Good morning! Hey, Chrissy!!!!! So happy to see you here this morning. How are you?
Not raining here but cold and grey. Probably won't work in the yard today. Plants will have to stay in the garage. Down into the 30's Friday night. Really do not like that!
Seems like all eagles have their backs to me and sitting tight in their nests. Come on now...give a girl a peek.
3/25/2009 :: Two Eggs in the Nest! Around 11:15 AM on Saturday, March 21st, Rachel’s female falcon laid the first egg of the 2009 season at the Rachel Carson State Office Building in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Typically, this female lays an egg at one to two day intervals. Last year, the female laid five eggs between March 21st and April 1st; four of the five eggs hatched successfully.
On Tuesday, March 24th at approximately 7:00 AM the female laid a second egg. As the clutch grows, the adults will begin brooding for increasingly longer periods of time. When the clutch is complete, at most likely four to five eggs, brooding will be continuous. The male and female will share brooding duties; the male will sit 30 to 40 percent of the entire time it takes to hatch the full clutch. To see what can be expected in the days ahead, viewers can scroll down to read falcon postings dating back to late 2001. Camera views are now set to provide the best look at activities on the nest ledge.

Sissy, does no work mean that you've just been working so hard that you're all caught up, or are drs. dictating less??? Ha, ha, ha....Feds may bring new charges against Michael Vick!!! Illegal use of pension funds!!! GO FEDS!
Lynn, no work usually means that they are not dictating as much or more people are working than normal. But, it also does mean my lightening speed is getting the job done!! (HAHAHAHAHA)
I am going to read the paper. Got my action at the nests that I needed. Going to the doctor today....regular check up after blood work. Will surprise her with my weight loss! Hope to have great blood report as well!
They need to wrestle with Luney before time for the cam to come on and get him going!! He needs to sleep at night, on their time, not ours!! Somebody pinch that bear!!
OMG this is so precious watching the TH parents - they are trying to figure out how to brood chick and an egg! They've never had both in that bowl before!
Well, Hello from damp, foggy land of illiterate computer!!! Had been going thru email this AM, sending replies, etc. when a loud trucker CB voice came thru 'puter speaker. This happens occasionally, but this time I could not type one more letter of the alphabet at all. Switched user sides, tried an experimental letter--NO. Went on blog, could not type password!Am on old puter that's working!!! It has no speakers!Turned other one off!!?? Have not had chance to read everything, but was curious if Lynn identified her mystery bird. So glad to see Chrissy on here. Isn't it unusual that Isla would be back at nest first? Usually the males return, then the females. Gonna get lunch, BBL ☺
What a busy but exciting day so far. Had coffee and dog treats at neighbors and then headed off to find some Pelicans. Haven't even seen those pictures yet as arrived home in time to catch the hatch at Two Harbors this morning.
Don't have CO in favs on this puter. Will have to get site from desktop, and while I'm there I will email the non-enlarged version of my pic and see if anyone can figure it out. Margy says now maybe a Swainson's hawk--distinct possibilty...hope we figure it out!!
Well, can't think of a nice thing to do this rainy afternoon than be here with you all....but a panda nap is really calling loudly! So think I'll leave you for a while...BBL!
Redoubt blew again, every time they go to yellow, it blows. It was a big one this time.
A major explosive event occurred at 09:24 AKDT. National Weather Service reports the cloud height to be at least 65,000 ft above sea level. Refer to the NWS Redoubt Coordination web page (http://pafc.arh.noaa.gov/volcano.php ) for latest cloud information.
wow...Deb, I have been watching the Mt. McKinley site we watch, trying to catch the elusive snowmobiles, and after it blows, and sky usually darkens there
Thanks .Deb As always your timing was impecakable. And Paula right there with you "us" "them" celebrating such a special moment at TH ..I wonder how Dr Sharpe feels as he sees his pairs he has worked so very hard to help restore Eagles to the islands actually succeed in nesting and hatching their own. What a sense of life and time invested well it must bring to him.
We aren't going to see much pretty soon, clouds of ash appear to be settling in. The ashfall is headed to the southwest this time, but I think some of it ends up going every which way once it hits that high. Warnings are out for the Homer area.
Wow, Deb--Redoubt pic is giant black cloud. Also looked at those poor cows I thought were sheep & fed your turtles!
Repening other 'puter now to dnwld Lynn's birds. Don't know yet if I can write on it--was "Read Only".If CB knocked out our signal somehow, guess I'll have to call Fios peoploe.
I can write on 'puter again! But I can't type---sorry, lots of spelling errors.
Lynn, it's still hard to get a good view of bird--didn't you say there were 2 together? Also, size would help & type of beak. Coloring is somewhat like sharp-shinned or Cooper's hawk. I gotta take a look at Wanda's bird again. Belle is expecting a downpour it looks like. Big bird in a haystack!
Deb, Love the ambivalence of that first Redoubt sentence---smaller or larger evenys may occur!!!!☺ You got the links on for Dana. I was gonna say that if you go down NBG cam page (WVEC), the 3rd title is 2008 archives about last years eaglet removed from nest. But it gives the current updates once you click on it.
A BLIZZARD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM MDT FRIDAY.
SNOW HEAVY AT TIMES OVER THE ENTIRE AREA THROUGH THIS EVENING. NORTH TO NORTHEAST WINDS OF 20 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS TO AROUND 40 MPH WILL PRODUCE BLIZZARD CONDITIONS AND CONSIDERABLE DRIFTING SNOW ON THE PLAINS BY AFTERNOON. THE WORST CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED TO BE IN AREAS SOUTH OF A LINE FROM BOULDER TO AKRON.
Its April decision time for me on Glo's Glimpses...Please head over there to help me out if you could. It really did help tremendously last month to have that objective viewpoint. Both of the photos chosen by all of you scored higher thanthe one I chose to enter myself. April Decision time
There is no way I can go look at colorado in the snow on those eggs :(. Bless her/his heart.
I just zoomed in really close on Lynn's picture, what I thought was the beak is a branch! Ha, have been looking and looking for a bird with a branch beak!
Went to Glo's Glimpses & couldn't get back here w/ arrows!Must be a flikr thing. Red, you must have your 20-20+ photo eyes on today! Hope you're feeling better. I thought shape of Lynn's bird looked like dove. Size would help. Thx Deb on CO ID--awful weather for eggs.
Just back for a moment,,Going to Watch a new TV programme at 9pm Called "The Mentalist", I don't know if any of you have seen it yet,,,
Loretta pet,, I thought the ame as you did,, but I've been on the Osprey Diary Pages and I'm told it's always the female that comes home first,, SO,, we are now waiting on Angus to turn up,, but he is taking his time,, the problem is that Isla turned up earlier than she should of really,, so she is having a rather long wait for her Lord and Master !!! I've just left her all curled up in the nest fast asleep for the night after having a rather large supper of yet another Rainbow Trout,,,
Only seen "EJ" at Loch Garten a couple of times today,, I think she has found a good perch somewhere to feed from,, and only pops back to the nest to bring a few news nesting materials,,,
Glo pet,, do I say what photo's I like here or on your "Glo's Glimpses",, I like, Nos, 1, 4, and 6,,,, I hope thats ok pet,,,,
I'll have to go in a moment,, so I'll say night night God Bless now, Hope you all have a smashing night chatting and I'll try to get back to chat tomorrow if I can,,time willing,,,
Good afternoon to all my friends of fine feathers and fur!!
Just been watching our cam pretty consistently so don't know much about what is happening on the other cams except what Sis sends me an IM about! :)
First of all, my belly is finally healing well and the incision is getting smaller and smaller. YEAH.
But, I went to the hematologist today and I have to have 4 weeks of iron infusions (Inferon) again. My hemoglobin was 9.7. It was 10-something in Charlottesville and I tried to tell them I had iron deficiency anemia and they just attributed it to postoperative anemia, so, here I go again. But, it is going to be all good!! I do have faith for that.
And, I just saw where Chrissy has been on here! Hi Chrissy except she is probably in the bed by now!
When I use different colors on Lynn's picture. I continuely see the head is a different color than the body or the wings. The body is lighter than the wings also.
Don't think it's a dove, Red! I have a lot of them around. Deb is leaning toward either a Sharp-shinned or Coopers. Snow is off CO mama now...glad she shook off! Glo, great video of Two Harbors. Also left my pic picks on comments section of Flickr.
Lynn...Red, my grandson thinks it is a dove, also. He is on a field trip right now and said he would email me later. None of my doves are marked like that or are that colorful.??
Eagles off eggs in CO they look nice and dry, no snow on them. One eagle just brought food into the nest and then left. Other eagle is thinking of eating, but duty one and is headed back to the eggs. I feel so bad for her, she can't even eat.
Yes, Wanda, I took it and showed it to a couple of Raptor Biologists and it was a young bald eagle, light morphed, I believe is how they labeled it. They both said the coloring was not seen often.
Yes, Red, I agree. We won't get a definite on it. When there is so much stuff around a subject sometimes the camera can't decide what to focus on and you get a blurry picture, no matter how still you hold the camera.

Feeding NBG!
Both, our nest!
Well, just saw the biggest NBG peck at the little one and down it went, not asking for food. BIG BULLY!
Both our nest---feeding time!
I have two in our nest on the still cam but had to refresh the live cam to get them both! Looks like Mom brought breakfast, huh?
LOL Every time I post that Jack o Lantern of Chrissy's jumps out at me!
Hey, Chrissy, you really wanted to be noticed!

Wow 2 eggs at HI?? How many days inbetween them? Like 5 or more?
BWE UPDATE.....
Nest Update
03/26/09:
We've updated the Eagle Cam Web Log with news about our younger eaglet and his quest for food in the nest.
Also, we did see a nice "democratic" feeding session on Thursday morning
maybe 3 or 4, this was laid sometime late last night their time
I think it was 7 days between eggs at HI Paula. I think I was at Mrs. Riffe's last week when the first one was laid and I go there on Thursdays.
March 22 is what Judy has posted for a date on Hornby's first egg.
Sunday? I think it was before that for sure, wasn't it?
Hi 1st egg was March 22nd
I just asked them in their chat room, it was the 22nd
I had thought it was earlier, too, so I checked the Hancock forum and it was first seen on the morning of the 22nd, laid sometime overnight.
Hmm. My sense of time must be really screwed up!!!
Maybe it is a 50 thing!
yep the mind goes first:)
That one chick at NBG is a bully!!
You knew the bullying was going to happen, but it sure isn't fun to watch.
2nd HI egg was around 8:30p.m. last night
Sorry, Sissy, didn't we tell you, it's downhill from now on? LOL
Right, parent sits on em and stops it though.
They need to wrestle with Luney before time for the cam to come on and get him going!! He needs to sleep at night, on their time, not ours!! Somebody pinch that bear!!
Too bad they can't sit on it all the time! Just gave middle one a big peck on the head.
eagle up at HI 2 eggs in sight
** good morning **

Daniel's panda page isn't able to refresh the Atlanta cam like the others. It has a couple of times I think but not automatically like the others.
Two Harbors has a HATCH!
Hi, Jim! How's everything in California?
Do they have 3 eggs at TH, Deb?
Two Harbors is kind of windy!
Can you see our little guy growing?? Did you see that Suz is calling her Miracle????
yes, Lynn, saw where Suz is calling her miracle
i don't know if you saw it, but there is a short update with pics on Buddy's condition.

I think just two eggs were laid at TH, Mits. I saw one wiggly eaglet and one egg. I have a clip loading now, but it has a ways to go.

Blogger will be unavailable Wednesday (3/25) at 4:00PM PDT for about 10 minutes for maintenance.
Update: This maintenance has been moved to tomorrow, Thursday (3/26), at 4:00PM PDT.
ha...maintenance
The video of the Two Harbors eaglet is up on Nest Pictures. It is just a quick look, eagle sat down too fast!
The snow is really piling up in CO, both the eagle and the owl nests. No owls again today.
Want to see a really cute dog. Check out my princess Rosie on Reds photos.
OMG this is so precious watching the TH parents - they are trying to figure out how to brood chick and an egg! They've never had both in that bowl before!
TH - Mom has already arrived with a fresh fish....breathing and jumping...Dad left....
thanks, Deb.
cute dog Red

Anyone having trouble with Norfolk cam? Won't open for me today.
Brief Buddy update, Jim....basically no news=good news...status quo.
CO nest is looking so bad, snow is almost higher than the eagle.
Awww, pretty pup, Red.
Lots of nice fresh fluff in our nest...
What a busy but exciting day so far. Had coffee and dog treats at neighbors and then headed off to find some Pelicans. Haven't even seen those pictures yet as arrived home in time to catch the hatch at Two Harbors this morning.
you can see my video here
Historic Hatch at Two Harbors
Don't have CO in favs on this puter. Will have to get site from desktop, and while I'm there I will email the non-enlarged version of my pic and see if anyone can figure it out. Margy says now maybe a Swainson's hawk--distinct possibilty...hope we figure it out!!
Great view of the chick in your clip, Deb. I did a couple of TH videos...they are on youtube...
TH First Natural Hatchyour desc
K82 meets first chick
Awesome videos, Paula:):):)
Great videos everyone!
Lynn, I don't see a hooked beak on your bird, do you?
Oh, my...Co really is snowy....mama looks weighted down with it.....do we know if she has any hatchlings yet?
Hedgie - no chicks at CO as of last night....
Not sure, Deb...doesn't really look like it ,but with background being so busy and colors so blurry, I just can't say for sure.
feeding and fighting at NBG
I just figured out that Judy's list updates when I reopen...was thinking it was just a static site. Duh!!! So I see that no hatch known yet at CO!!!!
Well, can't think of a nice thing to do this rainy afternoon than be here with you all....but a panda nap is really calling loudly! So think I'll leave you for a while...BBL!
Lynn you have mail
Redoubt blew again, every time they go to yellow, it blows. It was a big one this time.
A major explosive event occurred at 09:24 AKDT. National Weather Service reports the cloud height to be at least 65,000 ft above sea level. Refer to the NWS Redoubt Coordination web page (http://pafc.arh.noaa.gov/volcano.php ) for latest cloud information.
It blew at 8:34 also.
wow...Deb, I have been watching the Mt.
Redoubt cam
holy guacamole, Deb.....some shot
We aren't going to see much pretty soon, clouds of ash appear to be settling in. The ashfall is headed to the southwest this time, but I think some of it ends up going every which way once it hits that high. Warnings are out for the Homer area.
uh-oh, that is eagle territory
yes wind is different, so will not being going near McKinley
Redoubt is not in view anymore on the link I posted. I'll put a picture up on Deb's Photos.
from BWE....
03/26/09:
Note: The Eaglet-Naming Contest is Open
Wow, Deb--Redoubt pic is giant black cloud. Also looked at those poor cows I thought were sheep & fed your turtles!
Repening other 'puter now to dnwld Lynn's birds. Don't know yet if I can write on it--was "Read Only".If CB knocked out our signal somehow, guess I'll have to call Fios peoploe.
spread eagle our nest
guess we need to put out a senior alert for JO.
Hi Eagleland Friends
Could someone please tell me which "blog is going to have maintenance"?
Also where is the update on Buddy?
Where do I fine Mason's update?
3 questions if someone can help thank you
I was thinking TH had sound.
Little Luney moved a inch or two lol
I can write on 'puter again! But I can't type---sorry, lots of spelling errors.
Lynn, it's still hard to get a good view of bird--didn't you say there were 2 together? Also, size would help & type of beak. Coloring is somewhat like sharp-shinned or Cooper's hawk. I gotta take a look at Wanda's bird again.
Belle is expecting a downpour it looks like. Big bird in a haystack!
All Blogger accounts will be down for about 10 minutes, we are on Blogger here.

Redoubt update:
The major explosive event that started at 09:24 AKDT has diminished, though smaller emissions may occur, or a larger event resume.
The 09:24 event produced a lahar down the Drift River.
I had to look up lahar, it is a mudflow or landslide caused by a volcanic eruption.
Deb, Love the ambivalence of that first Redoubt sentence---smaller or larger evenys may occur!!!!☺
You got the links on for Dana. I was gonna say that if you go down NBG cam page (WVEC), the 3rd title is 2008 archives about last years eaglet removed from nest. But it gives the current updates once you click on it.
Forecast for CO nest:
Thank you Deb for all 3 ( :
yikes for CO
eaglets in view at NBG
CO reminds me of our nest 2007
Nice tenting job by Belle...
show what time is blog going down for maintenance...4???
should be so....
4 PDT, so that is 7 your time, right?
Its April decision time for me on Glo's Glimpses...Please head over there to help me out if you could. It really did help tremendously last month to have that objective viewpoint. Both of the photos chosen by all of you scored higher thanthe one I chose to enter myself. April Decision time
There is no way I can go look at colorado in the snow on those eggs :(. Bless her/his heart.
oh yes, ok 7 our time
Is the CO nest most are talking about, the Excel, Fort. St.Vrain site? That's the CO one I have in My Faves.Pic they showed was pile of snow.
that's the one, Loretta.
The eagle is in the nest on the right hand side of the cam. It looks like it has quite snowing for now.
Both our nest.
missed them....
Lynn, I think your mystery bird is a morning dove. The orange coloring is a leaf hanging in the tree. JMHO. lol
gee Red, I would think Lynn would recognize a mourning dove....they are everywhere.
eagle sleeping at CO
I'll have to re-look at Red's morning dove??
I just zoomed in really close on Lynn's picture, what I thought was the beak is a branch! Ha, have been looking and looking for a bird with a branch beak!
nice closeup of feeding at NBG
Went to Glo's Glimpses & couldn't get back here w/ arrows!Must be a flikr thing.
Red, you must have your 20-20+ photo eyes on today! Hope you're feeling better. I thought shape of Lynn's bird looked like dove. Size would help.
Thx Deb on CO ID--awful weather for eggs.
Hi all,,
Just back for a moment,,Going to Watch a new TV programme at 9pm Called "The Mentalist", I don't know if any of you have seen it yet,,,
Loretta pet,, I thought the ame as you did,, but I've been on the Osprey Diary Pages and I'm told it's always the female that comes home first,, SO,, we are now waiting on Angus to turn up,, but he is taking his time,, the problem is that Isla turned up earlier than she should of really,, so she is having a rather long wait for her Lord and Master !!!
I've just left her all curled up in the nest fast asleep for the night after having a rather large supper of yet another Rainbow Trout,,,
Only seen "EJ" at Loch Garten a couple of times today,, I think she has found a good perch somewhere to feed from,, and only pops back to the nest to bring a few news nesting materials,,,
Glo pet,, do I say what photo's I like here or on your "Glo's Glimpses",, I like, Nos, 1, 4, and 6,,,, I hope thats ok pet,,,,
I'll have to go in a moment,, so I'll say night night God Bless now,
Hope you all have a smashing night chatting and I'll try to get back to chat tomorrow if I can,,time willing,,,
love and hugs to all,
Chrissy

Sharon, you have got to go to HI
Sharon sometimes drs. just don't listen. Glad they found it and taking care of it for you.
Chrissy we watch the Mentalist also it is a good tv show.
slo-mo eagle moving
have to chuckle when people in chat room at NBG complain about their cam freezing
Tonight we go to Concord University to hear the "ConChords" sing and my baby boy is singing a solo! :)
looks like a switch
Eagle our nest..looks like Belle has returned.
And food right smack dab in the middle...
I am trying to decide if Redoubt is blowing again or if it is a steam plume, a really big one!
Yes, Mits, they don't know how good they have it at NBG!
Don't think it's a dove, Red! I have a lot of them around. Deb is leaning toward either a Sharp-shinned or Coopers.
Snow is off CO mama now...glad she shook off!
Glo, great video of Two Harbors. Also left my pic picks on comments section of Flickr.
Then I look at Lynn's mystery bird again and can see a Robin. lol
It's not a hawk. Beak is straight.
Lynn...Red, my grandson thinks it is a dove, also. He is on a field trip right now and said he would email me later. None of my doves are marked like that or are that colorful.??
I think it might remain a mystery bird!
Eagles off eggs in CO they look nice and dry, no snow on them. One eagle just brought food into the nest and then left. Other eagle is thinking of eating, but duty one and is headed back to the eggs. I feel so bad for her, she can't even eat.
CO eagle is trying to get the food close so she can eat while incubating. What a good eagle parent!
Sharon, sorry about the anemia...is that a usual result of the bypass? And so glad to hear that Andrew is soloing.....tape it and let us listen!!!
DEB, did we ever figure out what your mystery bird was?
What ever dinner is, the white snow makes it very graphic. :(
Now I have decided the photo is too blurry to determine what the bird is. Don't get so excited next time and hold camera still. ha ha.
