We had a tremendous thunderstorm roll through here last night. Power went out but only for a minute, enough to flip Mattie out. She got up and had candles all over the house. Bless her heart. She is in All County Choir today. She is so excited. What a kid!!
Sissy, when our grandaughter used to stay with us in the Summer, she would wish for a power outage everytime we had a storm, so that she could light candles. She was just about Matties age...must be something about that stage in their lives.

I have been to Chicago, several times for the St Pat's festivities....the river is the color green to begin with, but they dye it the day of the parade, which is always the Saturday before St Pat's day, we would go watch them dye the river, I have some great pics, then we would be off to the parties.
Happy St. Patrick's Day all, and congratulations to our little Mattie. I know she is a breath of fresh air to Sharon and Beverly. And on top of that they have Andrew, too. Live Feed is a blessing, isn't it. Wish I didn't have to lurk so much and could blog more. Gotta go teach and earn my money so I can pay our taxes. Hubby said we would have to sell the farm to pay taxes this year. blessing to all today, Mauley
The people that dye the river are the same family that has been doing it for years, passed down thru the different generations, and they have a secret formula, and it does not hurt the fishes:)
So, glad you received rain. Bright sunshine here! Going to be another day to dig in the dirt! I might even bring some plants out of my green house! That is really a declaration of spring!
Hi again. Not feeling much better...must be the barometric pressure working on the sinuses! For the DID YOU KNOW file......most famous folks are recognized on the anniversary of their birth, but St. Patrick's Day celebrates his date of death. Isn't that strange? Saw a feeding of our little guy a few minutes ago...looked like he was sticking out his little wings for balance! Too cute!

Any day now, eagle egg should hatch at Norfolk Botanical Garden
12:55 PM EDT on Tuesday, March 17, 2009
NORFOLK – It’s nearly hatching time for the first of three eagle eggs in the nest at Norfolk Botanical Garden.
It could happen as early as today, wildlife officials say.
Bald eagle eggs typically hatch 35 days after being laid and the first was in the nest on February 10.
In the past, this particular eagle pair has generally incubated their eggs for 37 days, which would put the first birth on March 19.
Their second egg was laid on February 13 and the third on February 17.
Once eaglets are born, mom and dad will be busy bringing them food and watching over them.
You can check on them, too, and watch their growth, on the WVEC.com Eagle Cam. It's running 24/7 and night viewing is possible with the help of an infrared light.

Amen! Not sure how they will, but....it needs to be stopped!
Hi, Jim!
I like your avatar, too, Paula...lovely for this Irish gal!
Dana - those are for our nest.

Tai Shan is up on his new play toy, the dead tree stump.
I thought they were going to ban the use of cell phones while driving all together?
don't know about cell phones in MD, but they are banned in DC.
Tai saying Hi to Mom at the Howdy window

Three eggs for the San Jose Falcon.
great Deb, didn't they have 3 last year...and the guy shimmied down the wall to tag them?
Nice size fish just brought in to OK. Maybe we will get to see eggs.
Clara, she is a beautiful falcon
yes, that is the one. In downtown San Jose outside the Mayor's office.
Lunch time in our nest!
I love that cam.
It is a new male this year, named after a Steve Colbert character.
Can see chick and one egg at our nest
I think the one on the eggs at OK is trying to be moved off they nest by brinning in a fish. That isn't working so the eagle is trying to step closer to one on eggs to move off. Well no go ....flew out.
Did anyone get that?? My Live Feed first froze up, and then when I refreshed, it went down.
It might be up (frozen?) now, but Belle is back on the egg bowl.

Another Steve Colbert bird?
