Redoubt Volcano update: Redoubt Volcano Latest Observations 2009-03-22 12:11:47 Seismicity rates have increased dramatically over the last 48 hours. Currently, the earthquake rate is about 40 to 50 events per hour. Many of these events are large enough to be recorded at the more distal stations of the Redoubt network, including NCT and DFR.
At present (12:09), clouds are obscuring the view of the volcano in the hut web camera but previous clear images show only a small steam/gas plume at the summit region.
Wow, think our baby has been out for over an hour. Must be great weather.Read that by 2 weeks old, chicks start to regulate their own body temps. Saw OK baby get fed. Will put pic up later.
I just got an update on our osprey, they are still all in the same locations. I guess they are content young osprey. A-04 still in the Louisiana Delta, A-00 in Florida, and A-15 in Mexico. A-15 did take a jaunt out into the Gulf of Mexico, then turned around and went right back to her wintering area.
Latest Redoubt update, sure glad I am not near there:

She's back down again...not much of a peek!
Well Hi Eaglelander's on this new thread. Thank you Steve.
It has been a terrible day. First time ever my computer kept freezing up. I couldn't even put the cursor on the daily blog page and scroll down or up.
So glad to be with everyone again ( : I was lonely :(
Thanks for the tiny url. I see where Caltrans eaglets plus egg to hatch have already been named. Cute.
Have been watching OK both want to feed the baby lol They need another hatch hee hee One to a parent.
Any dates for Lw hatchings yet?
We still have one in our nest?

that is how one eagle was feeding the other one at OK yesterday...Deb that is great for your B-Ball team....sounds likes Redoubt really wants to let off some steam.
Eagle in LW and Great Blue in Wildwatch Heron cam.
Two eagles in Maine 1.
Two BG Heron now.
That should be GB for Great Blue, not BG.
Deb can you see any eggs in LW?
nice to see the herons again
:), we knew what you meant.
No eggs, but it should be soon. First egg last year was seen April 26, I thing that is the right date.
I give up, first eaglet was seen April 26.
I didn't think so Deb. Can't remember where the comment was but someone put comment "2 confirmed eggs as of Friday afternoon March 20th" but I didn't get which nest.
That was the Libby nest where there are two eggs. There are no eggs in LW.
oh, I thought I had read 2 eggs at LW too...duh!
I forgot Heron nest has sound:)
My gosh, Deb.....parts of SD to get 30-40" of snow????? And 20+ ft. over flood stage flooding expected in Fargo by end of month???? This all sounds very serious.
They way I am typing today, maybe that is what I typed, if so I really give up!
I did type that, my apologies, It should have been Libby Dam that has two eggs! Geesh, can't keep my nests straight today.
Yes, Lynn, in the Black Hills is where the snow is going to be, here we are supposed to get all rain.
Off to watch the game, bbl.
Both parents our nest now!
Looks like Lib was feeding the little tyke, and Belle arrived. Lib was just telling Belle he'll finish the din dins.
LOL, Deb was too tired from kayaking :)
Deb, if one inch of rain =10 inches of snow....are you supposed to get 2-3 inches of rain? Is that enough, combined w/ snowmelt to cause flooding in your area?
Both adults at NBG- they are feeding each other.
Yeah, Paula....all of that rowing would have paralyzed me!!!! She's such a trooper!
How disgusting, the only way to watch the game is to have some special ticket. GRRR! Going to search on line, see if it is on somewhere.
Both in our nest...don't see any fresh food, tho'.
Belle covered up the chicklet...Lib stilll there on the back...think he's having a snack.
Well that sucks, Deb.
Paula or Deb what game is it?
LW eagle up on branch.
Dad just flew back in at NBG, taking care of some wayward sticks.
Lib left.
South Dakota State girls game, first time in NCAA playoffs in Division 1.
I found it, they just started later than it was supposed to! ESPN-NA, channel 145 on Dish.
NBG Mom up eating a snack now
Awww, bite for MOm, now some for the eaglets.
They are zoomed in
Awww Dad wants to help
Enjoy your game Deb glad you found it.
OK is getting fed.
She is offering to both chicks.
Awww Mom giving Dad some too
Glad it's on, Deb.
25-4, SDSU ahead of TCU!!!
Great for SD Girls! Good luck, Deb.
We have to cheer for all our other buds, now that MD men are gone. I was surprised they got as far as they did!
Saw part of NBG family feast--couldn't save a pic, but they should have some BIG slideshows tomorrow!
LOL, guess that was Belle that took off earlier and Lib on the chicklet....cause Belle just cam back and Lib left...hard to keep track of 'em sometimes!
YAY for SD girls...sounds like the MD women's game...
Deb - that game is listed here as well, but it's only available in TX and SD...
Go SDSU!
44-15! My sister in CA can't watch it either, Paula. The announcers said it was too bad it wasn't national, people would be very surprised with a South Dakota team.
Sunny, they are calling them SDST, not good!
What's the T? I'm on the phone with my Dad in RC!
both eagles LW
I think South Dakota STate, maybe to not confuse it with San Diego State U?? Sorry I was on the phone, too.
Thanks Deb. I had to call Dad after I saw your weather comments earlier. It was 80 there today, with blizzard tomorrow!
well, golly that is a big change in weather:(
eagle up...
eagle at LW was just doing the famous waddle waddle?????
Helloooooo!!!!! We are home and this grandmommy is tired!!! We had so much fun! Those two boys played hard all weekend. They are going to sleep well tonight.
They made friends with several boys in the park and they never sat. They were running and playing all the time. And, oh so dirty!!!! ha! We rode the train and hiked and made smores and just had FUN!
So....I checked the cams, one egg hatched at OK on Saturday and the same for NBG. Right? None today?
Oh, good, I hope they get an egg today at LW.
Score is 80-38, with 7 minutes left. Pretty good showing for South Dakota!
We have lightening and thunder here, Sunny. It is muggy, haven't had to say that for a long time!
Lolly, NBG has two!
Welcome back. Game is back on, bbl.
Hornby--egg alone a couple times. Mom had been screeching. Sounds like she's back.
THink I'm going to watch Amazing Race tonight--don't think I've ever watched a whole episode before...tonight it's set in India...lived there for awhile when I was a toddler, so don't remember it, but I do find it interesting.
Wow! When did they hatch at NBG? That is so good after last year.
One yesterday, one today, Lolly.
final score, SDSU 90, TCU 55. On to Tuesday night.
Lolly, glad you had a fun weekend!! Those are the things that make great memories for kids!!
Lynn, saw your rain question, I don't think we will get that much here. We do need rain right now, had a few grass fires yesterday.
DEB! Did your school just beat my school? Not keeping up with games since we just returned!
I am a TCU grad.
Lynn, we did have so much fun. Right beside our camp site were two more sets of grandparents and kids. We were all having so much fun.
I rewound LW nest and saw an egg, so you were right about the Waddle you saw, Mits!
Yes, Lolly, although I didn't go to SDSU, but Sunny did. I went to a rival school, but will cheer on my state!
Boo! Hiss!
Yea for SDSU, Deb....:) and Sunny too,
thanks, Deb, did not see egg, but saw her waddle waddle:)
Belle asleep
Welcome Back Lolly!
LW has an egg...you must have had a premonition Deb!
Must have, Paula, it couldn't be that I was totally goofed up!
I am loading video of the egg roll on YouTube.
good night everyone..
My cable went out a couple of hours ago, and I just got back on. Not sure what that's about. Thanks for the score, Deb!
Where did you go kayaking yesterday? That's my favorite activity in the summer.
I went on the Missouri River between Yankton and Myron Grove. About 15 miles.
Did I tell you that my sister and her hubby both went to Yankton College? I guess it's long gone now.
Yes, it is a federal prison of some sort. No violent crimes, I think.
Margy didn't drop in after work tonight, hope her day went okay.
I think MAYBE I heard Margy on the scanner this evening....sometimes hard to tell because there is another gal who sounds a lot like her...so she may have had to work over.
Belated good night, Helen!
Some of us were MIA this evening. Hopefully enjoying the day with family and friends.
