We are at Fredericksburg now! All hooked up and time for lunch. Guess nothing has happened at our nest?! We will be leaving after lunch to browse in town and to visit wineries. Also, going to the Wildseed farm. Oh, Megan you would love that place. All kinds of seeds in bulk. I am going for larkspur.

Sunny, I am in north Texas. Joined this fantastic group about a year ago. Jack and I met everyone (almost everyone) last Oct. at the Open House.

And this morning.....I got more pics. Got to the nest (between Burnet ande Llano, TX) One adult was there with the juvies. Then that one left and another flew in. Also saw more what looks like trampoline action, wing flaps and stretches from the juvies. Just loved it! Hated to tell them goodbye.
Norma, if I thought I would be able to see anything, I'd go to NCTC. But I will be staying at the Clarion!
No Norma....no grandkids this trip. But in two weeks we are taking Joseph and Jacob to east Texas to ride the Texas State Railroad steam engine. That will include two nights of "camping" in our trailer.
Well, time to go load the car. I'll be taking the laptop, and will be watching for hatchings!! The weather will be warm and wonderful for Belle this weekend.

Well, Sunny, I would about guarantee you would see an adult in our nest at any given time now. If I lived near there, I would be in trouble. I would probably just have to have a mobile office that I could park near the sycamore tree and work from there!

Megan, how about that! I absolutely love the place. You will have to come see it sometime. I love to browse and they have cats everywhere! Besides the seeds in bulk they have a lot of nice things....rocks, birdbaths, yard stuff, and inside lots of pretty things to look at. And, cats in and out!

Sunny the Rumsey Tavern inside the Clairton is GREAT...most of us have eaten there more than once on Momster outings. GOOD FOOD....breakfast you must go on main street to BETTY'S RESTURANT GREAT !!!!!!!

Lolly, I am so homesick when I read of your trip. We used to spend our summer vacations camping in Texas state parks back when the kids were young, in the 70's. I was born here in PA, but spent over 40 years in TX.

H1 has big fish started to eat heard other eagle and now just finished yelling. Seen other eagle fly around. Hasn't landed in nest yet. Eagle with fish is eating.
I was born in New Castle. PA and live in Grove City now with my elderly Mom.
Just saw the 'lunch' at BW. I prefer to think of it as rabbit. Bunny is too sweet. I have to dispose of a dead rabbit about every 6 weeks here that gets into the fenced backyard and the golden retriever chases it to death.
There have been several long visits at the Maine 1 nest today. I hope that nest is successful this year.
Oh how I miss our sound from last season...Jo loved the sound too...be nice if they could get it fixed FOR JO ELLEN also known as MENA JO WHEN SHE COMES HOME....SOUND PLEASE FOR MEMA JO. ( :

Well Homeland Security is a true show on tv. We really like it..shows what idiots think they can do illegally. Surprising a lot of it though.
What is wrong with the feed???? Argh!!!!! Having to refresh it almost every 5 mins.
I would state right now that if "I died make all donations instead of flowers for new cam with sound and color for eagles at NCTC". But I'm afraid everyone will be gunning for me lol

Jo called a little while ago, they put a walker in front of her and said, WALK, and she did, but had to hang up cause they where their to give her a respiratory treatment

I shop at Martin's but other stores have them. Rent a movie on charge card $1.06 with tax take back next day by 7pm. Like it better than blockbuster now. If you rent at one place and another is closer can take back there.

Jo told me to call her back, but dinner now, and she said food is good. Said she took a long walk down the hall, and actually put weight on the bum leg. Tenative release is for tomorrow after surgeon comes in to look under the ace bandage.
Said to tell everyone, when they took her to CT this a.m., they parked her in the ER hallway. she got a laugh out of that.
Eagle flew out a few minutes ago- think we had a switch- hard to tell with the cam freezing...
going back out- beautiful day- but I got a sunburned face:(
Thank goodness they didn't leave Jo in the hallways for hours and hours! Hope there weren't any drunks....LOL!

Wow, great news about Jo. I'm just confused about ACE bandage??? I'm hoping she has some kind of cast. Maybe bandage is at one end of leg where rod was inserted. I'm so glad I sent my card to her house. Knew you can't keep Jo down!!

my whole family is right now in the friendly skies, jubby on his way home from California, and son and family on their way to Ohio.
Re: ace wrap....sometimes they split the cast to allow for swelling and wrap it to keep it together, and then recast after swelling is down, and sometimes when there is an incision they like to keep it split in order to inspect wound for signs of infection.
yep, sounds like it, Lynn, know she said he wants to look at incision tomorrow. I'm just amazed she is walking on it, but know you have to get up, to prevent the clots.

son and family's plane just landed, jubby's will land in Dallas in about 20 minutes.
it is a nice clear pic now. they have been so calm today on the eggs, must not be any rolling underneath yet.
Sure don't understand why there are no direct flights out of BWI to LA....
he doesn't use BWI, flew out of Reagan to Dallas, directly to Santa Ana, California, could have flown to LA, but would then need to rent a car and drive, this was much easier, cab ride to hotel.

lol...he is screwing the dishes to a platform , so that rocky and ratface can't carry the dishes thru the neighborhood.
HELP EVERYONE WILL HAVE THIS PROBLEM.....we need to band together. Fine way of getting rid of "stink bugs". Other than picking them up killing them or throwing them outside. Suggestions are warranted here.

no, not completely sure, but almost sure, and not sure at all what would really happen at these early stage with 2 more eggs to incubate. it just looked like the black hole that everyone was seeing I think yesterday, not sure of my timeline.
Great news about Jo, sure hope she can go home tomorrow. Maybe she doesn't need a cast, since they put the rod in her leg.

Hi all! Back from shopping in Fredericksburg! Let's see...at Wildseed Farms we got two huge flower pots at half price, some seed, a t-shirt, and a bottle of wine. Went into town bought a planter to hang on the fence in one of my gardens, a small table for the patio, and a Santa ornament. Jack was really sweet to put up with my shopping.
MEGAN....I took pictures at the Wildseed Farm. After we eat I will post them.

If you watch BWE very closely in front of the eagle, you will see a little eaglet poking its head out! The parent isn't moving much at all, BUT Snow White is.

Well either something is bothering her or she is stretched out to keep eggs from getting too warm- it is still 60° here. I don't think I've ever seen her tent like this when there wasn't precip coming down.

BWE - either there was a very late switch, or eagle had to do a poop shoot! Eagle was at very far right corner of nest...now back on snoozing chicklets.

Yeah, I probably did. He was so sweet to let me browse in stores. Not that I buy much if at all, but I do enjoy looking. I did get some placemats as a Christmas present for my DIL. And, he enjoys garden stores as much as I do!
