MORNIN' MEGAN & HEDGIE!----I went birding with a friend yesterday afternoon----Saw my first ROBINS!! The reason we are seeing so many TURKEYS---about a mo or so in WV & MD --- SPRING TURKEY SEASON WILL OPEN!!!!
Lots of birds this morning, Norma, large flock of geese came over earlier, many birds are working on nests...carolina wrens are already driving us crazy...they are so nosy, yesterday one was in hubby's van for at least an hour- door blew shut when he was snooping around.
DID you all remember!!---SUNNY will be at the CLARION this week!!---They should give her a discount!--The EAGLEMOMSTERS have spent many--many good times at the RUMSEY TAVERN!!
Was just reading the obits online in the Bluefield paper. This woman had a daughter whose last name was "Fix" and another whose last name was "Booze". Thought those were pretty interesting last names.

Thanks to our viewer's watchful eyes, the first egg of the 2009 season has been spotted. Osprey usually lay two to four eggs within one to two days apart. Each egg is approximately the size of a chicken egg, mottled and cinnamon colored; is incubated for about 5 weeks to hatching and both parents help to incubate the eggs.
Good morning! Just wanted to get on long enough to say hi. Have been watching our nest while getting ready and eating breakfast. We are hitching up and heading out. Won't be back on til this afternoon. Maybe Belle will wait til I am home. :)
Have a fantastic day chatting and watching! It is cloudy and we may have a rain to travel in. Texas needs rain....as the song says!
That owl nest, made of chicken wire and rubberized tarp, sure IS strange....kind of surprising that they take to it, but sounds like they are opportunists....just wonder what they found attractive about it to settle in there the first year?!?!
Checked the old Delta 1 at Sidney, BC & cam says "looking for sponsors"! Wonder if the eagles repaired that nest.Part of it fell away at fledge time. I miss Teddy!
I decided it was time to tackle the sidewalk and driveway, but someone beat me to it! I think my neighbor across the street. I saw him doing quite a few driveways on his side of the street.
Space Shuttle launch is scheduled for Weds. 3/11 at 9:20 PM....if we have clear skies, those of us on the east coast will be able to see it!! For mid-atlantic region, watch the southeastern sky when they say that it is about 900 miles downrange!!! I'll remind you again Weds.!!!
We have been 'seeing things' for two days now, but the photo that Paula just posted, looks more promising than all the others we have seen. Hope it is what it is:)
Man I don't want to be a sore sport but sure would be easier to know whats happening if the moving things on the live cam could actually move a little more consistently. Geula might get her birthday present soon. But is it March 9 in Isreal yet lOL.
I was thinking that live wasn't showing much faster activity than 30 sec. cam, too.... Hi Thelma! Hey, Lolly, is home really home or just back to the camp???
DEB HH has a forum earlier this morning a lady name Jo put a comment that there was now 2 eggs. I put that information on this thread. Since that I have been in checking. The moderator took her comment off. Since it was wrong. Only 1 egg in HH nest laid 11:56 March 7th.
I'm now down to waiting for something greyish and fuzzy. lol Too many spots around for me to tell anything for sure except Paula's definately had a black spot. Not saying that you alls don't.
I think its time for grayish and fuzzy too but as time passes the chances of us seeing it are getting trickier as night starts to fall. I think I will back away from the computer for a while which might help you all see a hatch LOL.
OK My thinking is this: The one you all are calling Snow White. Has decided not to come out due to taking care of 7 men. The one you all are calling Frosty. We may have another egg any day so keep watching.

Good video, Paula. Turkey at the snowman cam.
Link looks funny, but it works!
Went out and got the car washed and vacuumed, too!

That owl nest, made of chicken wire and rubberized tarp, sure IS strange....kind of surprising that they take to it, but sounds like they are opportunists....just wonder what they found attractive about it to settle in there the first year?!?!
Good video, Paula. Neat to see a slow mo float off!! ☺
Just got GHO in her "hammock". What a beautiful bird.
Libby Dam nest is snow covered.
EAGLE UP!
Hornby broadcast has been disconnected. Try again later. Birds were gone anyway.

Blow up Snowman is bouncing all over the place on that cam!
Eagle up!

Moving fluff
Snow white looks closest to 6 position
Someone is at BWE blocking the signal!

I think that's snow I see falling at Kent now! It had melted most of it from last night already.

If the Mount wins their semi final today, they will play Robert Morris who just crushed Quinnipiac.
Back outside....BBL
I see snow in Kent, too. I think there is still only one egg in HH. Maine Forum has been down most of the day.
Egg roll our nest, I see one black spot
Paula, I saw the black spot too!
Darn, of all times to do an update and restart my computer. I missed it.
I put pic on blog...gotta go shower...
We have been 'seeing things' for two days now, but the photo that Paula just posted, looks more promising than all the others we have seen. Hope it is what it is:)
More food delivered to BWE.
Was out for awhile, drove near a creek & heard FROGGIES!!!! I love that sound.
That is a good shot, Paula....sure LOOKS like a hole!!!
Hooray, a SPOT! And while I was out, Fubby closed all my sites. Finally my Live cam opened!
hello everyone
It took forever for mine to open, too. I thought it was my computer.
paula and eagle-eye, do we have one?
I do believe from Paula's great picture. We have chick breaking through. Looks like the tooth hole.
Oh boy !! Oh boy !!
Hi Thelma yes I do believe we are into a hatching.
Sweeeeeeet....
Hope we can say..."Look Dick, Look Jane!See Spot run!!"
Okay....I am home. Eaglet # 1 can hatch!
Jo must have her leg up today resting. I hope she isn't having any pain.
Welcome home, Lolly. Good timing.
Paula, hope Mount wins!
BBL--gotta see about din din
Man I don't want to be a sore sport but sure would be easier to know whats happening if the moving things on the live cam could actually move a little more consistently. Geula might get her birthday present soon. But is it March 9 in Isreal yet lOL.
Good picture, Paula! Yea!
Ha Ha guess this littl eone gets born in Shepherdstown time which still works for Geula for a while yet.
I hav e"live" zoomed in...what special expressions and head nods I am seeing...cute or sweet whatever. Listening for us I guess.
I was thinking that live wasn't showing much faster activity than 30 sec. cam, too....
Hi Thelma! Hey, Lolly, is home really home or just back to the camp???
Funny you mention that Lynn, home is back to the camp not were the heart is right now.
feeding BWE
I feel an eaglet coming on!
Welcome back Lolly!
DEB HH has a forum earlier this morning a lady name Jo put a comment that there was now 2 eggs. I put that information on this thread. Since that I have been in checking. The moderator took her comment off. Since it was wrong. Only 1 egg in HH nest laid 11:56 March 7th.
Don't you just know that this will be a nighttime hatch and we won't be able to see???
How long does a hatching take from start to finish?
Our eggs are showing.
around 24 hours or so, Thelma
I watched it, too, Dana and saw only one egg.
My live feed had eggs showing forever, just now moved forward.
thanks MITS, I knew you'd have it
From Lisa's BWE page:
When the eaglet is ready to hatch, it will turn itself inside the egg and pierce the egg’s air sac, then the chick will take its first breath of air from within the shell. Next the chick will use its neck muscles and egg tooth (on the tip of its beak) to pip or punch a small hole in the shell. The eaglet will continue to slowly turn and peck until it has cut a hole around the diameter of the shell so that it can push out the bottom half and free itself. This process is very tiring for the chick and can take 24 hours to complete since the young bird will frequently stop to rest. Once the eaglet is out, it will be wet and tired with its eyes closed, but it won’t be long before it dries off and is soon able to see and sit up.
saw 3 eggs, did not see the black spot that time.
There is still a black spot on an egg. I'll post the picture.
thanks Dana, great info
thanks, Deb.
Our parent got up for little while---could see all 3 eggs, but don't think the SPOT was showing.
I think it is a black spot and not grass. It is on the egg that is in back of the other two.
Saw a dark mark toward bottom of well, but looked like on aq different egg, unless they got rolled earler. No roll this time, but some staring!
then it is a different egg that has the spot, last pics awhile back had it on an egg in left side of nest cup ???
They have been rolled since Paula's picture was posted.
got cha!!
Deb, I have pretty much the same pic as yours. Thought maybe spot on bottom of back egg.
sunset coming up at 7:11 p.m.
Thats what I think, Loretta.
We are home home!! ☺ We are unloaded and we had to leave for a while to get Annie (the cat) from camp.
I'm now down to waiting for something greyish and fuzzy. lol
Too many spots around for me to tell anything for sure except Paula's definately had a black spot. Not saying that you alls don't.
Just saw--and heard--a gaggle of geese heading north! Hooe they aren't going being fooled by this summery weather!
I think its time for grayish and fuzzy too but as time passes the chances of us seeing it are getting trickier as night starts to fall. I think I will back away from the computer for a while which might help you all see a hatch LOL.
Well, you know what I meant to say! Guess fingers and brain were not in sync!!!
LOL glo
where did our eagle go??
Watch the cam on HH where the sunset hits the Osprey.
Eggs were alone, darn glare.
yes, Deb, when I brought it back up nest was MT, went to Still and eagle was there.
OK My thinking is this: The one you all are calling Snow White. Has decided not to come out due to taking care of 7 men. The one you all are calling Frosty. Has decided not to come out because it is smart and it know being Frosty lol in this warm weather it "melts". Then their is Lu (loo) it knows that means it goes somewhere and doesn't come back for lonnnnnnnggggggg periods. That my story and I'm sticking to it. lol
It was only one refresh that they were alone. Eagle was there when I posted, at 12 ish. Then gone and replacement arrived. I got pictures, I need to check them out.
Sun is very pretty on the osprey nest.
or (Lou) if boy
back up
back down
Between the glare and zooming in it is really bad picture. I missed getting a shot, on that roll.
seems very alert tonight
sure does MITS
Wonder if there would be a rainbow if it would shine on the HH Osprey like that sunset is?
Ofcourse, I'm excited and ready so it could be me paying more attention than normal.
I don't get excited til I see a live chick.
Whoo Hoo, just made it on before the Split..maybe..xox Hi Everyone !
I thought I saw that T-Byrd peeking out from the comments ☺
