Just read this on news page and I'm madder than a hornet!!
WASHINGTON – American International Group is giving its executives tens of millions of dollars in new bonuses even though it received a taxpayer bailout of more than $170 billion dollars.
Then you'll love this- A white paper prepared by the company says that AIG is contractually obligated to pay a total of about $165 million of previously awarded "retention pay" to employees in this unit by Sunday, March 15. The document says that another $55 million in retention pay has already been distributed to about 400 AIG Financial Products employees. The company says it will work to reduce the amounts paid for 2009 and believes it can trim those payments by at least 30 percent. AIG is the largest recipient of government support in the current financial crisis. AIG also pledged to Geithner that it would also restructure $9.6 million in bonuses scheduled to go a group that covers the top 50 executives. Liddy and six other executives have agreed to forgo bonuses. The group of top executives getting bonuses will receive half of the $9.6 million now, with the average payment around $112,000.
We are at 54° and still dropping this A.M. in So Cal... it will rise to 64° or so this afternoon.
We were due for some light rain in this period, but it's been downgraded to 'mostly cloudy.' But we are getting close to Spring, and I had better replenish the Hummingbird feeder today.
The little mamas have either started or about to start their broods for this Spring.
That is great the way you can make the picture really large, but I can't see much of anything on that pic. It was raining, so they have the fluff up around eggs.
Well time to get ready for church and then off with Dex for a ride with camera...not sure where just yet. Will keep cam up when home but will mostly lurk is the plan now. So hard to "know" much of anything right now but
eagle body language and all that food did send us a message yesterday...we know what our pair are doing whether or not we can share a clear definitive no one will absolutley quesiton it kind of image at this point. No more eye strain here for today.
GLO!---I tried to leave you a comment---but - didn't work!---I wanted to let you know that looking at your pics made me feel I was in EAGLE HEAVEN -- with ANGELS SINGING!!----COOL!!
Good morning! Have been reading all the comments since I went to bed. See that there is still not clear image of our eaglet. BUT, we know he is there or "they" are there!
Going to lurk while reading the paper. Then get ready for church. Have those cameras ready and get some great pics.
Have a great day...one of the BEST...we have an eaglet!!!
MORNIN' LOLLY!!---I so enjoyed looking at your photos---They certainly show us what a wonderful life you share---with your handsome husband & family--thanks--
Good morning everyone. I went to Chattanooga yesterday to visit my brother. He is doing well now. We went out for lunch and had a great visit. I haven't seen anything yet that resembles a chick. I think we all want one so badly we are beginning to hallunicate. Looks like two eggs are missing but show me a chick and I'll believe.
aah JIM!---I love WVU & basketball!----we have a young team---it's a GOOD TEAM!!!--had to watch the final game last night!!---LOUISVILLE won--BIG EAST!!
Norma I got your comment..You will see it published now. I have my comments sent to me first to publish...eliminates any kinds of spam or unwanted comments for others to read and you don't have to do that kaptcha or whatever it is to post.
Thanks for your comment. Would sure love some input from you on Glo's Glimpses too...that one doesn't even need me to read first as doesn't efect as many as comments about our cam does. Thanks again.
Red It might be a while before you see a definitve baby but keep on trying. They are putting food into that eggwell on a regular basis it appears.
Good morning all. Computer is back up. If I still keep having problems as Wanda said the computer was my anxiety outlet. At this point it is causing too much anxiety. Will give the new modem a shot when it does arrive. Sorry to be so negative. Hope everyone has a great day.
Panda up a tree Oops coming down. One panda asleep and one looking through the window at the one sleeping. Love those pandas. Helen think we are going to try to get over to the zoo this week.
Good Late Morning All Just signing in and going to start reading comments but did check out nest cam and pics in my emails! Thanks so much. Drizzly grey morning here but I am still a happy nestor!
I'm not so sure that there was something like a blob in the Hornby nest. There are cam smudges that look like brown blobs - maybe our eyes were deceiving us.
With all that said - Our eagle is up with back towards us.. I hit refresh every 15 sec - Boy I really do miss our Live Feed - I hope John can get it up/running for us IF it isn't Comcast..
I was having interference in our TV yesterday (I have Comcast) It was flickering on & off frequently
I really hope so! I just don't think any of us have seen a clear pic of our little lady (usually females are first hatched - but then if we lost the 1st egg this could be our little guy!
I wish we could have one more eaglet hatch - like today.
The Travel Channel has a really interesting program on Wild China for the next 3 hours. It just started 15 min ago. Might want to check it out..the photography and the birds and wildlife are wonderful.
good morning , an overcast day today. I am heading out with the camera . Heading south to central Ca to see friends and will take the long way down the Sierra foothills. Lots of country driving. Should be fun. I havent gotten out of this house since I came back from Idaho. I have cabin fever. Hope you all have a day with love and smiles.
Well, viewing conditions surely are making it difficult to see the new chick(s), but at least we are sure from the behavior of the parents starting Sat. afternoon that there is at least one chick hatched.
Even if we have to wait a day or two, the chick will grow enough that we will get some good views even with the glare. Sooner or later we will see the little guy.
As for the live feed, it had been freezing every few seconds for a couple of days, and it probably would have been totally overloaded yesterday.
Belle was just up and in the process of resettling in the nest cup when I looked back. Did anyone see it??
I couldn't sit glued to the TV for 5 hours, and I hated to miss a single minute of Wild China. So I went to Amazon.com...found the program (300 minutes of it) on DVD's for #18.49 and free shipping if you buy something else to get total to $25. I am buying it, so I can watch it at my leisure and many times.
Glad you are enjoying it, Dana. I knew most of you would find it fascinating if you have time to watch.
I added a couple of new pictures, too. The cam is just not real clear and therefore hard to get good pictures. Will be glad when we have live feed again and can see movement.
Hi all and greetings Eagle Momsters and Steve, glad we have a hatching! Watching all with my niece and nephew from DC> Hope mom and fuzzball stay warm in this cold rain. Look forward to seeing the images of the hatch. CHeers! Sandy
6pm EST I just noticed that the tv channel Travel Channel that Genie told us about is going to be showing "Land Of The Panda". DirecTV is channel 277. I don't know about what channel it would be for any other tv connections.
I think you will see one unhatched egg, which doesn't change, and everything else is chicks and pieces of broken shell, and they all move or change.
Also, you can see Belle aiming food at two different spots... one is this side of the intact egg, and the second is all the way to the forefront of the pic of the nest cup. There are shell parts separating the chicks in this slideshow.
I am not sure whether to laugh or cry and I am along for the ride but if I try to read this Blog and pretend I am not posting here...I am starting to feel sorry for us who are trying to see something so very hard ...The slideshow on the Maine forum is the closest thing I have seen to prove there is movement in that nestbowl...
Unfortunatley we have missed most of the rain, which we really need here. And while those wet eagles may appear pitiful, they can handle the rain just fine.
Sorry, my reaction to the rain passing us by again was sorrow- we are really in a dry pattern and in need of rain. I am not worried about these two keeping eaglets dry, they seem to do just fine with that. Off to find some food.
We have been clearing and tilling gardens for a few weeks, working in the Gh now sowing seeds and transplanting seedlings. Hope to be planting some cold weather crops in 4-5 weeks.
I hope you do get some moisture, Megan, so you don't have to water so much. No one around here has been in fields yet, but this week could be the week they can get out.
Again coming up on Travel Channel on tv at 6pm EST is going to be about the Giant Panda. Genie led me to this channel. It is from 6-7pm don't know how much will be on the panda. About human and panda coexist.
Good evening all. Just getting home and settled in...Was able to check cam while at Christie's, and got what looked like a good capture that I sent out to you. Haven't read through here yet, but will work on it and get my newspapers read.
Shuttle is on schedule for 7:43 launch, but unless we have a weather miracle, don't think we'll get to see anything. If you want to watch on TV, Ch. 283 on Directv and 213 on DishNet. CNN sometimes covers launches, too.
Ceil, gotta tell ya'....not too long after hooking up to braodband, was having so much trouble....installer came back and couldn't figure out problem...tech support said it must be modem, but that they had NEVER had that problem before...sent new modem, and everything has been fine! So hope you are as lucky....of course, Verizon does have a reputation...HO, as Norma says!
On this program this 80 yr old man is hunting with a golden eagle. He caught it as a chick. Taught it to return to him. After so many years with him. The man will release the eagle to freedom.
Hi Everyone. IE w/AOL & 'puter got exhausted--sort of locked up-lots of hourglasses. Got everything closed, rebooted, & got the BLUE SCREEN but not the fatal one."Error in Disc-Hit bla bla bla to open". All the good pics I got are stored in this newer? 'puter. Jim mentioned Baby Pictures, so I will put on blog, 2 of the best I received today. They are from Megan and Lynn--I enlarged them a tiny bit so they wouldn't get blurry. Most of you probably got them. I guess the best thing to see is that swell sounding slideshow. Thx for the heads up, Jim.
All the baby pandas born at Wolong will go to zoo's because they can not survive in the wild.
You would think the way they have studied bears and etc. Men have even tracked them until they found them. Put up tents stayed in wild for long times. Until they found and recorded the information they needed. You would think China would do something like that. So they could find out "how they mate".

Getting ready to head out to Morgan County...before anyone calls me from work !

I'm going to the Loo, Jo.....
hope for some luck...I will lock myself in there for awhile ☺
Hope you get to enjoy your free day, Margy and have fun!
I'm not so sure that there was something like a blob in the Hornby nest. There are cam smudges that look like brown blobs - maybe our eyes were deceiving us.
I am heading in to my recliner
I'll touch base later today...
**Margy, Unlock the LOO door - come on out and be on your way!! There are smiles to be had ((hugs))
Eagle up, nice view of the eagles back.

Hi Deb!
Yes, it does blend in well, doesn't it, Jo. Maybe Steve can get us a clip from the cam there. He did that a few times last year.
I really hope so! I just don't think any of us have seen a clear pic of our little lady (usually females are first hatched - but then if we lost the 1st egg this could be our little guy!
I wish we could have one more eaglet hatch - like today.
I had been watching the Hornby eagle in the nest - MT now. It was reallly windy there earlier.
Couldn't get the LW cam up
Read the note Helen posted from Loraine about the Kent nest - I know she must be really disappointed.
That would be nice, Jo. I put a picture up of last view. One regular size, one enlarged. I wish we could enlarge with out the image getting so blurry.
I have LW up Jo. I go through Wildwatch, not Critterzoom. One eagle laying in the nest.
OH! Deb! I really do see him looking at us..... Those 2 little black eyes!
He is at the top (to the left) of the other 2 eggs! Thanks so much

Megan you are right we need rain badly. We'll be in a drought. We really did not have a lot of snow to help that situation.
Megan...re:AIG...is that J. GORDON LIDDY??? Wasn't he the one involved in Watergate?
Welcome back Lynn ( :

On this program this 80 yr old man is hunting with a golden eagle. He caught it as a chick. Taught it to return to him. After so many years with him. The man will release the eagle to freedom.

Eagle up
There might have been a switch, the eagle was in front of the nest cup when I walked in the room.
Yep but its back is to us and can't see in nest bowl.
I check live feed every once in awhile, no luck. :(
Hi Everyone.
Pics are on...☺
Din din....
Thanks Loretta and Megan great pictures.
They just said on this segment of China. That no one knows how the panda mates in the wild !! So that
is why they mostly have to do the artificial.
Well that was a great segment. I seen and learn't a lot. Very informative and beautiful scenery.
NBG eagle up and turned 3 eggs did not see any holes or crackes. They had zoomed in. Eagle back down.
Sundown approaches and so does the night light....
Watching the nest first then on to everyone's pictures that I haven't seen yet..
Good Ones, Megan and Hedgie, and nice enlargements, Loretta ! xo
