he new server with streaming capabilities was installed last week and works great. We're now waiting for the WDFW to do their magic with it so the site is viewable.. come on guys!! Ok, the disappointing news.. they tell us the microphone that was placed with the new camera was the incorrect equipment for this situation. Chuck from the dept, Tom and Shawn would have to elaborate here but this one has such a long cable that when its connected it picks up radio station dialogue and music, 'la ku karacha' music... Instead of hearing eagles screech and squawk we could hear a foreign speaking DJ ... Ok, back to the drawing board. Apparently the one needed is the same as was used with one of the other cam set up's Tom and Shawn installed recently... Its not too late to replace this one with the correct equipment if we can get all 'the ducks in a row'..

LISA 03/02/09: Chick Alert!
It appears the chick didn't hatch until this morning. Chicks absorb the yolk before hatching, so it doesn't have to be fed right away. The parents just need to keep it warm and dry for now.
There I go again - repeating something that is worthwhile hearing twice! lol

MeMa Jo Included in todays Feedblitz is a video of our NCTC rolling the 3 eggs taken yesterday anyway. I like it when I have a chance to see all 3 eggs too. Don't have the cam up yet wanted to read on here whether or not I had to deal with watching it snow on the nest first. Yep holding fast to just reading and not watching heavy snow anywhere on Eagles, eggs and eaglets...just how it is!!
I would say here in Bethesda around 6 inches, but the dreaded wind is picking up....:(

Yeah, not much snow here, but our road is slippery and completely snow covered, the wind is blowing snow back onto the roads. accident back here is my neighborhood, still have not seen an ambulance, just rescue trucks- guy who drives way too fast in any weather, smashed into mom headed to bus stop. Too far back for me to walk and see what's going on.
why do people drive so fast in bad conditons????

The road in the back of my neighborhood is very narrow, barely wide enough for two cars, apparently he came flying our of his drive and they smashed into each other-he couldn't stop- was going too fast. He said he thought he broke his collarbone...his airbag had activated.
Guess I'll finish papers and check my mail. BB.
