Steve, we understand all you and John do, and that it is extra work for you all. Our concern has never been with the work and effort you put into this project.

SHe's up!

Mits said...

Mits said...

puffed up

wvgal_dana said...

Thank you Steve and John and ALL that took this project on.

I think we may have a chick, I seen pieces of egg shell

floralgirl said...

Yeah, could see two eggs clearly, the third one, could only see part of it..such a deep nest cup... guess we'll see better in the morning light...

NatureNut said...

Dadgummit! Missed another position change. Just got back to see the wiggle-wiggle.

glo said...

Yes Steve I think you know and we try often to express our appreciation for all you do...what you are reading I don't think for the most part is criticism as much as frustrated passion and enthusiasm for a pair of eagles that we who are nothing but armchair nestwatchers have come to love.

It helps when we know what is and isn't happening or going to happen.

deb said...

Head tucked in on live feed.

deb said...

Must have been grooming, back up again.

deb said...

I give up, head back in. :)

Mits said...

Loretta please check you mail.

What did you think of Dancing with the Stars? Anyone out there that watched it? I liked the Sex in the City guy...Gilles(sp).

deb said...

I have to watch it yet, Wanda.

glo said...

Well I half watched and thougth Shawn Johnson did very well however got sidetracked and then never saw her scores.

Mits said...

never have gotten into that, not much of a reality show person.

magpie said...

Glo
I was most happy to read that your daughter has gotten the green light to go home and be with her family. Hope the medicine works quickly and heals the ailments
xo ☺

Costume Lady said...

Glo, she did very well and I think her score was 23. I love this show. I was a wanna-be dancer many years ago.

magpie said...

Lolly
Wherever you are...I really enjoyed seeing your new pictures and your gardens are exquisite! ☺

Liked the pics on the other profiles too, folks ☺

Got to get me a digital camera soon, before wildflower and spring birdie season hits hard

magpie said...

Due to "exigent circumstances" at work, I guess I better get some shut-eye. Will be up during the night checking the nest no doubt..and hope to catch you folks in the Morning Light...
Maybe we will ALL be grandchick grandparents ☺

Peace, Love and Prayers
and Grateful thanks for all Blessings xox

NatureNut said...

Dana, you have reply ☺

hedgie said...

I taped Dancing, too...too busy w/ other stuff to concentrate on it!

Steve, thanks for that info on the cam, and for all that you and the rest of the NCTC staff do. We may squawk sometimes, but do appreciate what we have and don't mean to sound critical. My grandma used to always say "if wishes were horses, beggars would ride"; everybody wishes for more than what they have and we sometimes forget to be thankful for the gifts we've been given.

hedgie said...

Steve, a question....is there any hope for the sound this year?

deb said...

Winter Weather Advisory posted for freezing precip. followed by up to 2" of snow. I wish winter would leave!

Mits said...

BRS is just across the line from Arizona

hedgie said...

Yes, Wanda, dear...we saw the pic of the young dancer; remember the guessing game?? LOL!

hedgie said...

Oh, Lolly,, you make me yearn for spring so badly! The redbuds are one of my favs....and your flowers look lovely...come on spring!!!

paula eagleholic said...

So, I see we are still watching....for something more definite....

These eaglets sure love to keep us guessing...

paula eagleholic said...

Eagle is up...

paula eagleholic said...

Still looks like 3 eggs...missed recording the beginning...still see a slightly dar spot on one egg

deb said...

Eagle was up, already back down.

hedgie said...

Trivia for the day: Scotsman Alexander Wilson is considered the Father of American Ornithology. He published 9 volumes of "engravings" and notes and observations from 1808-1814.

paula eagleholic said...

Uploading a blogger video,,,we'll see if it takes...

wvgal_dana said...

Thanks Loretta

NatureNut said...

Wow!! So what was that? Looked like 3 or 3 1/2 eggs? She stood back from them too. They just look so small at night.

paula eagleholic said...

Personally, I wouldn't mind time limits, if it would improve the quality of the video...at least someone could see something decent.

paula eagleholic said...

Or limit the number of viewers...

glo said...

I agree Paula give it time limits on live cam and hopefully someone who has learned to record will make the videos to share with those who couldn't or were not on then. JMHO

paula eagleholic said...

Mits, you have mail.

Jo - glad you could make it on for a little while...you sound GREAT!

Glo - glad daughter only had strep... and yes that can certainly come on fast.

Margy - thanks for working that job...it's a tough one, not sure I could do it!

Lolly - I am jealous of your redbuds...I love them...can't wait for mine to bloom.

Megan - when do you start Market?

paula eagleholic said...

Dana - did you see my post about the CT Osprey cam?

paula eagleholic said...

Wow Lolly, spring has certainly arrived in Texas. Beautiful!

paula eagleholic said...

Blogger hates my videos...trying again...

glo said...

Becky is feeling much better fever is breaking tongiht...she is dealing with strep and a peritonsilar abscess..will see her own Dr on wed to discuss what the next step is going to be with those tonsils I guess depending on her response to the antibiotics and if it reoccurs soon or whatever. She was my ear infection kid but not much problems with tonsils growing up anyway.

glo said...

Blogger hates my videos too and you tube has become its own set of problems...hmmmm challenges out there aboung.

paula eagleholic said...

OK, 2 rejections by blogger, don't know why it won't take my videos anymore...guess they have changed something...

Will process and post to youtube...

deb said...

I found out that I can load videos through Firefox onto blogger, but not through Safari.

paula eagleholic said...

It won't take any of my unprocessed videos at all...it was only 50 seconds or so...loads it, then at the end says there's a problem....HELLO...what's the problem? Darn google product!!

paula eagleholic said...

I am using IE...

paula eagleholic said...

Loretta - do you have comcast internet? I do at work, and it doesn't make a difference...

Mits said...

backatcha, PAULA

paula eagleholic said...

I don't usually have problems with youtube...only viewing them!

Mits said...

it would be fine with me, on time or people limits if the quality got better, NZ panda cam has a 15 min limit, Atlanta when they had their cam it was 5 mins. guess we are just all trying to think of a solution to help out. If the NZ zoo has a panda cub, you will not be able to get on it, when Tai was born, nearly broke my finger trying to refresh to see him.

Lolly said...

Hi all! Been peeking in this evening. Worked in the yard til late, then watch Dancing with the Stars. After that Jack started a chiminea fire and we sat outside. He already knows I would rather watch eagles than eat, but could not tell him I would rather watch/blog than sit outside with him. So, that's the way it is!!

Steve.....we absolutely LOVE this cam and the chance to blog. We have become a family....and that is the way it is!!! Thanks so very much to all that work at NCTC to provide the cam and keep it going. We appreciate you!!!

paula eagleholic said...

I see our weather is supposed to turn more spring-like, instead of summer-like.

paula eagleholic said...

Thanks, Mits!

paula eagleholic said...

Lolly - yes you are allowed to spend time with your hubby!

Mits said...

good night everyone..TTYT:)

carolinabeachmom said...

Hello everyone. JUst checking in on the nest before calling it a day. I see we are still watching and waiting. Once the first egg hatches, the other two will probably hurry right along behind.

paula eagleholic said...

Caltrans and Oregon have limits on their live feed...IWS has it on their 10 second refresh cams...NBG - sometimes you can't get on at all...so, you just wait your turn.

I wonder if they can up the refresh rate on the 30 second cam???

paula eagleholic said...

That's usually the way it is Candy...it's just he** waiting for the first one to hatch!

NatureNut said...

Blogger got bogged down bigtime.
Posted photo from roll about 1/2 hour ago. It's a little strange--had to crop bottom-had a pinkish cast. May want to blowup--it's a little grainy, but it is what it is!
Looks like more than 3!!!

carolinabeachmom said...

Well, I'll just keep hoping for good weather up at the nest; no ice or snow anymore. These birthing chicklets have to have good birthing weather.

NatureNut said...

Paula, we have Verizon FIOS. However, at that last roll, I was opening Live cam on old 'puter & it showed her standing up, but other Live showed her sitting! DUH. So sometimes it must freeze, but I didn't notice.

paula eagleholic said...

Striking out on all 3 fronts...tried to upload to youtube unprocessed...will process it and try try again.

carolinabeachmom said...

Loretta. Just looked at your photo and it does seem to look like 4 eggs or a crack opening in one in the middle. It is kind of hard to tell.

NatureNut said...

Paula, Blogger wouldn't take my ONE picture---"there is a problem--blog might be busy"!!!!!

carolinabeachmom said...

Guess I'll leave the watching to you and Paula for now and "hit the hay" as they say. 5:30 comes pretty early. You all have a good night, restful sleep and pleasant dreams of our first chicklet to be discovered by the morning.

movin said...

Did anyone get a video or a clear still picture of the hatching egg or of a chick?? I saw some mention, but no link to one yet.

Loretta, the egg in your photo looks like it has split open. If you check out my photo at 7:16 or 7:17, you will see the same egg, but not opened up as much as on your photo.

Wanda - I don't believe it has...

Egg Roll 10:52pm

and looks like Belle changed positions...oh, she did have head back, now poking in the bowl

paula eagleholic said...

There it is, but watch Belle first..

hedgie said...

Nothing definite, Jim.....views are not good...or so brief that we can't tell. One thing for sure, there's been no food delivery. I got one fairly decent capture that I sent via email..check yours!...the one egg sure looked different.

paula eagleholic said...

Her head is tucked back in...calling it a night here...

Hugs to all ♥

hedgie said...

Oops...Paula's latest video definitely does show all 3 eggs, but condition still a toss up!
belle appears restless again tonight....she knows that something is imminent...we HOPE!

glo said...

Ok looks like you all are off to bed. Video is uploaded to For the Love of Eagles for about midnight your time. She has been up again and I have a video of that also. Not sure whether to try to upload or not.

deb said...

I watched the videos, thanks, Paula and Glo. Time for bed here too.

If you aren't too tired, look at Pete's Pond. There's one of those herons that spreads it's wings over it's head (which is horiz.) like an umbrella, creates it's own shade and fishes in it for small fry.

Seeing eggs clearly no chick yet. Can't take a picture from still too shiny.

floralgirl said...

Eagle up and sitting on side of nest. See three eggs clearly. Middle one might have hole in end- hard to tell, but you can definitely see three eggs.

carolinabeachmom said...

She is awake and just sitting there. Wish she would get up so we could have a good look. All seems calm and quiet.

I need to ask Steve a question about the cam setup. Do you look at the cam hanging at a 45° angle being supported on a limb with duct tape and take pride in what thousands of viewers are seeing. I think not!
I'm an old man who was taught to take pride in what I do and be aware of what others think. I have been following this cam and blog for a few years now and the excuse for cam problems is always bandwidth. Well if you can't get the bandwidth cancel the live cam and go back to a 30 second update one or improve it to a 20 or 10 second one. It's hard for me to believe the US Government cannot solve a smiple cam problem when we can watch other live cams with good audio from the forests of an island in British Columbia Canada or the jungles of Ecuador. If you don't have the budget to do something right then don't attempt it.
I apologize to everyone I have offended. If I get banned I hope you get your good cam system someday.
