she called me this a.m., is doing good, liking her recliner, wanted to now why it took me so long to answer my ,since it is right next to my puter, told her it takes longer when you tip the chair you are sitting in over:)
I have not read 40 emails or read this morning's comments. I hope all is well I turned on BWE and watched those 2 fuzz balls get fed and then they just flopped forward for their nap!
I know I will get a phone call when ours hatch since I am not here that long... I need a lap support before I place the lap top on my legs.. Hits my knee right now (1 incision is there)
Wanda JUST FOR FUN I didn't realize Karla had a Blue Frog in her pond! I thought I had to go to the rain forest to see one for real~ It is ok if under your Signs of Spring photos you want to add Jenny's sign of spring in her yard. It is on the email I just sent you
GeeGee doing ok? Think about her. You caregivers are really special...If I didn't have such good ones they would probably have to ship me elsewhere. You special people are so appreciated!
Hi Jo! You need a lapdesk (padding) to put your laptop on while using it.
I am getting ready to load some more pictures. Someone asked for a picture of the Lolly Express. Ha! Also, walked around the yard and tood some pictures. I'll go download and then upload! :)
Finished cleaning the interior of the trailer, now Jack and I are going to scrub the outside. Really messy! The ceder waxwings were eating berries, and you know what happened then on top of the trailer. Yep! It happens!
Looks like no actin in the nest. BBL after washing the trailer. Want to come help?
So sorry to see that there is still no chick. Been home a couple of hours, and lurking and catching up, but have had several calls to make, plus some emails to deal with. Margy is having a very busy day...isn't sure when she will even be let go....may not even be at end of 6pm shift. More fires....appear to be brush...don't know whether suspicious or not. Not a word in newspapers about the 3-5 arson fires from the weekend. Saw the debris of one while I was out....an eyesore that is better off gone, but business next to it quite damaged, too, which is too bad.
Mits, so sorry to hear about your friend. What senseless tragedy...and very suspicious that they would just happen to target a visitor....wonder if he followed her or something ...prayers for family and friends.
from what I have been reading in the local paper there, he did another robbery back in December in the same neighborhood, he confessed to this crime, but pleaded not guilty any how...jerk.
No chick news yet I see...but some other good news on my end. Becky does not have meningitis and therefore has been released from the hospital. They did give her IV antibiotics and steroids to kick in quickly before she went home. Has peritonsilar something or other and strep throat. Sent her home on about 3 scripts and told her to "shut up" well sort of ya know. She will see her own Dr on Wed afternoon for follow up. I am so releived that it is not meningitis. Was surely looking that way when they put her in a private room and wouldn't let Eric and Elia in with her until test results came back. Thank you for your prayers and concerns. I feel so relieved.
Dana, there were three late Sat/Sun. A vacant house on Apple Harvest Drive, a vacant house near Maidstone Manor in FW, an old packing shed or something on 9W between 81 overpass and GM road; also tow residential fires across road from each other, I think on Delmar Orchard Rd.
Jo, heard earlier here that Suz DID go to the nest! Glo, SO thankful that Becky is out of the hospital and doesn't have meningitis. Is it peritonsilar abscess??....VERY painful.
I don't know what they did but would assume that. There is a couple of meningitis cases in Tucson right now. Only got to talk to Eric briefly who said he was going back to get her and she could come home no meningitis etc. Hopefully she will feel better tomorrow and a little more able to talk some. I am just so releived. She did seem to get very ill very fast.
Lolly, Gene was at the 'puter when the last egg roll took place...He called me in and said "come quick this eagle is doing someting funny with these eggs". By the time I got here, she was back on the eggs. He said he saw two eggs and something????
Yes Hedgie peritonsilar abscess . She was given morphine at the hospital I know. Sent home on Vicodine. and Antibiotics etc. Told me yesterday morning when she first called she felt like she was swollowing rocks but at that time was not running a fever. That happened suddenly in middle of the night after having taken 3 Advil every 4 hours all day long. When she called me at 3 am her time to tell me what was up I said Yes go to the hospital your fever shouldn't be that high in the middle of the night especially after all that advil all day etc.
Wanda, HA HA! Nothing is set, but tentative plan is that duaghter may have business end of May in Athens for 1 to 1 1/2 weeks.SIL might go too, so I feel better about not having to traipse around by myself or w/strangers.P.O. would not accept any of my birth records & photos have a pinkish tinge!!!The sky is falling---gotta be white! So have to return them to drug store & go into town to get BC copy--duh! And that's enough about that! Back to baby birdwatching ☺
Thanks Mits There is a little girl who I am sure is awfully glad mommy got to come home too. Kin dof a scarey middle of the night for her too I am sure.
GLO, I love that Gene loves to watch the eagles and he thinks that ALL the girls on here a super. Says he has never met such a bunch of sweet girls. Our last outing, had a guy (JIM, Ceil's hubby) and it was a joy for him to have a male to talk to...but he does like the ladies!
I, also, love the fact that Becky is back home with her little family! I did fear it was menengitis, from the symptoms that you described! Thank you, LORD, once again. Amen.
GeeGee has a doctor appointment tomorrow. When I get a report on what has been happening to her the past couple of weeks, and he thinks she is alright, then we can start planning a trip for those who would like to go.
Thelma it has been very nice. Very windy though. When we drove to Virginia today. Trucks and cars you could see the wind hitting them. They would weeve in their lanes.
Loretta, some post office's do the photos themselves. They are listed on website...you just put in zip code and it will tell you where, hours, and if apptmt. is needed.
Lynn I too was very disappointed not that I stayed up till MN put that there wasn't the point made of how important Wolong is to the Panda's. Plus they said it is all rebuilt. I thought if any building was done. It was too make it a museum. Because the Panda's have been placed elsewhere haven't they a new place?
Mits I am so sorry to hear of one of your son friends Mother. I will add her son Harley and family to my prayer list for sure. What a terrible horrific crime against a beautiful human life. Plus taking away this families loving person.
Lynn, PO does do photos, but I already bought them & should get new ones for free.As a matter of fact pics lady took of man before me came out w/bluish background!Their cams just plug into printer so they can't do much adjusting (or don't6 know how LOL)!
Home, but heading back out for awhile shortly. Glad the day is over. Lights went off and on and work all day...royal PIA..then I had a dentist appt. Left work at 6. Ready for a drink!
Maybe we didn't see a pipping last night, just something else on the egg.
Does this mean we might get a decent eagle cam system? lol I would think a few bucks could be budgeted for a GOOD cam system that is being watched by viewers worldwide.
Glo so glad Becky is going home and it is not what they thought it was.
Lynn I'm praying for those fighting the fires. Have to wait an see if this one is arson. Still many guy and relations are in fire dept. PRAYERS FOR ALL!!
Wow, Red, that was impressive reading, but it states, in essence, that the money is allocated for OUTDOOR RECREATION... we participate in INDOOR RECREATION, so they probably wouldn't consider giving us a new, cam with SOUND!
Something looked different under Belle whe she was standing facing cam....by the time I got live feed up to zoom, she had turned....blocking view, but head kept going down...
Thelma, dear, my to-do list never gets done:( Poor Gene has my list and one from GeeGee too. It is hard taking care of two houses, but he loves my Mother, like she was his own. Would do anything for her. I am so blessed to have married someone who my parents have treated like a son all these years.
Wonder if Steve has seen that article. He has been with the PRESIDENT down in Washington. Maybe he had something to do with the allocation...said he was working on a budget.
Well I surely can't say anything definite about video I have watched it 3 times..Then at switch yes did zoom in on middle egg and it does look very different from other too. Thats about all I can say for sure. I will save video and picture keep an eagle eye.
I have video. I will work on it. I saw the egg with a stripe on it. When the eagle cam in to turn them, there were only two eggs showing, not stripe. I am not sure it it was grass??
Gosh I don't know we have that nightlight glare now. I have some video too just not sure what I see now..will go watch video..adult surely did NOT turn any egg that time.
What I thought was a big black hole was at 7:16, by the time Lynn go her photo, it was 7:23, so it is possible that the one with a hole in it got turned. My pics are't clear at all. Lynn's is as clear as it can be, but who knows? I'm giving up for now. Going to watch Dancing With the Stars. BBL
The Wildlife Restoration apportionment for 2009 totals nearly $336 million, with more than $64.7 million marked for hunter education and firearm and archery range programs. The Sport Fish Restoration apportionment for 2009 totals more than $404 million.
There are two parts to the distribution. The part Mits mentioned of $4 mill for Sport fishing restoration and then the second part is $3,782,560 for Wildlife Restoration.
The almost 65 mill for hunter education and firearms training is what kills me. They have to pay here to take the courses, and the courses are required for licenses, so......
well for the longest time I only saw 2 eggs and then after a stupid long freeze suddenly I saw three. Its so hard to know what the heck is really going on between the glare and the freezing cam.
One of the fires involved over 20 acres, brush, field, woods, and threatened some structures but I think they were spared, probably a couple hundred firefighters from all surrounding areas, and 40 or 50 pieces of equipment...
I was just sitting here thinking of the wildlike, little creatures, and insects, and new nests that were probably eliminated :(
No serious injuries among the FF's - just scrapes and cuts and a few thing like that. Thank Goodness! Don't know the cause of it, but carelessness comes to mind..
Oh, yeah, due to "exigent circumstances" all our staff is more on less on alert to be available - due to high call volumes, and low staffing due to illness :( That's how I ended up in there today
The current cam system is one of the best out there, thanks to John's hard work. The issue now is bandwidth.
The freezing on the cam is due to bandwidth limitations from our Comcast provider and tons of people watching the cam all the time. We are doing the best we can to minimize problems, but the pipe is only so big, and Comcast will not give us more at the current time. We use an outside vendor because using a government network has lots of security issues that make the cam problematic to even operate. The last few years we used a group in Wheeling, and it worked pretty good, but would lock up all the time, sometimes leaving the cam off for hours or even days. At least with Comcast we have stopped the lockups. We are looking into some suggestions we have received from you folks, like limiting connection time, but I can only imagine the problems when one of you regulars gets kicked off at a critical moment. A solution would be a dedicated line, but we do not have the budget to devote a T1 line just for the cam.
We do the best we can with limited time and budget, and will continue to do so. This cam project is a sideline for us--we all have full time jobs doing other, nctc mission-critical things.
I think we all understand, Steve, but just get frustrated sometimes when the feed freezes. We know this cam wouldn't even be up without you and John and others dedicating time to it.
Thank you Steve. We love watching this nest, but the greatest thing is to know there is a healthy pair of eagles that have settled in our area, generating healthy offspring, and created so much beauty and enjoyment for us. Thank you for all you and your Staff do. Those Eagles are out there doing their wonderful thing whether WE get to watch it or not! xo

I think of you when the sun shines and when it rains when you need it to....
Bye Megan! Get to work!
SD has the cam on ZZ now. She's spending more time on the ground, eating her bamboo like her mom and going on exercise rounds like her mom, etc.
I think she still spends time aloft while napping though. She's still 'just the cutest' in my book.

Finished cleaning the interior of the trailer, now Jack and I are going to scrub the outside. Really messy! The ceder waxwings were eating berries, and you know what happened then on top of the trailer. Yep! It happens!

hello again everyone
hello again everyone
Hedgie-Lynn read in Sundays newspaper about the fires and they are sure the tires was arson. Others may be the arsonist too.
I see we still have no hatchling.
Hi Thelma and Buddy is the weather nice down your way?
Dana, the weather is absolutely great!! How about your way?
I had a short visit from a neighbor/friend with Daffodils from her garden for me!
I've not made it back into my recliner
but checking you all out and will go in now!
I'll try to back during the evening.
We need a little fuzz ball!!!!!
No chick news yet I see...but some other good news on my end. Becky does not have meningitis and therefore has been released from the hospital. glad to hear the good news glo
Glo - Hi!
Did they need to do a spinal tap to determine Not meningitis? There no fun.
I am thankful for her results!
Hope you are doing well - I can't complain lol
I want a hatching!
I wanted to surf the nests before leaving
computer. That Decorah, IA eagle nest view is spectacular.
I didn't hear from Suz as to whether or not she made the trip to NCTC on Saturday
All right Out of her for A while.
Still looks like three eggs to me.
Did anyone else see that egg roll?
I saw three eggs. Trailer is clean, so now headed out to work a short while in the yard. Oh, yeah, time change....I can work a little longer. Hurrah!
Hi, Jo...Suz did go to NCTC on Saturday and got many photos of both our eagles. She said she would share them as soon as possible.
Been out dealing w/Govt. bureaucracy trying to get passport-DUH!
Anyway, see SPOT hasn't arrived :>(
Jo, heard earlier here that Suz DID go to the nest!
LORETTA, where do you think you are going?? How are we going to come visit you and your park, if you are traipsing around in Europe??;);)
Wanda I love that Gene enjoys this with you. That is so cool :)
good news for Becky, but still hopw she feels better soon.
Did you tell P.O. that you ARE usually PINK. If Michael Jackson can be lilly white and get a passport, why can't you be PINK!;)
Would Mid-April be a good time to visit your Park?
Glo, so glad your daughter was diagnosed & will be on the mend!
Had to change 'puters---when trying to post comment, everything (both cams & blog) went into hourglass land!
April would be good, as ospreys are def. back. Can't guarantee that you'll see eagles, but we know where they hang out!
Amen.
yes the thought of meningitis is really scary
That's good, Loretta. We will have to start making plans soon. Have to find a date that will suit the ladies most.
EAGLE IS GETTING UP!
DArn... they are not giving much of a peek into that nest cup- but I saw 3 eggs.....
Yes I really wish I could get the sound Does anyone know why it dont work or is there somewhere I can go to hear sound with same camera shot??
GeeGee has a doctor appointment tomorrow. When I get a report on what has been happening to her the past couple of weeks, and he thinks she is alright, then we can start planning a trip for those who would like to go.
Not right now, Prissy, there is currently no sound for this cam.
Prissy, if there was such a place, we would all be there!! Don't know if NCTC has sound on their closed circuit camera or not.
Thelma it has been very nice. Very windy though. When we drove to Virginia today. Trucks and cars you could see the wind hitting them. They would weeve in their lanes.
Closed circuit is on at NCTC, turned up the volume when we were there last time...no sound on our cam site, would slow it down even more.
Still no hatching, I see. It is an icky day here, foggy, misty and sometimes drizzle. Freezing rain and around 2" of snow starting sometime tonight.
Dana, there is currently a huge mountain fire on North Mountain behind Allensville.
yep, sounds icky, Deb, my tulip magnolia is starting to bloom, it is very old, but always the first to bloom in spring.
Would that be the dump, Lynn?
Loretta, some post office's do the photos themselves. They are listed on website...you just put in zip code and it will tell you where, hours, and if apptmt. is needed.
Glo, so glad the Becky's tests came back negative for meningitis. I sure hope the meds kick in fast for her.
Got to give Capt. Eagle his dinner, he needs to keep his energy level up. Got a big to-do list for him:)
nothing like a completed honey do list huh Wanda : )
On past the dump, on the mountain, Wanda.
Even tho' they've been bringing some units in on 901, a lot have come in the back way behind me via Cherry Run.
Glo sorry to hear about Becky. Praying they find the answer fast and she is well very soon.
Lynn I too was very disappointed not that I stayed up till MN
put that there wasn't the point made of how important Wolong
is to the Panda's. Plus they said it is all rebuilt. I thought
if any building was done. It was too make it a museum. Because
the Panda's have been placed elsewhere haven't they a new place?
Mits I am so sorry to hear of one of your son friends Mother. I will add her son Harley and family to my prayer list for sure. What a terrible horrific crime against a
beautiful human life. Plus taking
away this families loving person.
Lynn, PO does do photos, but I already bought them & should get new ones for free.As a matter of fact pics lady took of man before me came out w/bluish background!Their cams just plug into printer so they can't do much adjusting (or don't6 know how LOL)!
Also a fire now in southwestern part of county....may be a structure..
thanks, Dana.
Yes, Dana, that's what we had heard a few weeks ago about Wolong.
Home, but heading back out for awhile shortly. Glad the day is over. Lights went off and on and work all day...royal PIA..then I had a dentist appt. Left work at 6. Ready for a drink!
Maybe we didn't see a pipping last night, just something else on the egg.
Guess we'll have to keep waiting.
BRS running into some rainy weather in NM
Mits, they did a news story about your friend on Channel 4 tonight.
hi Paula-sounds rough
Does this mean we might get a decent eagle cam system? lol I would think a few bucks could be budgeted for a GOOD cam system that is being watched by viewers worldwide.
Budget
I just saw that, Paula, Pat Collins sure can be dramatic.
Dana - CT says they have technical difficulties today with Osprey cam.
WEST VIRGINIA $4,044,499.....
This is West Virginia allocation, Red, think they can swing with that amount??:)
Glo so glad Becky is going home and it is not what they thought it was.
Lynn I'm praying for those fighting the fires. Have to wait an see if this one is arson. Still many guy and relations are in fire dept. PRAYERS FOR ALL!!
bbl
EAGLE UP AGAIN.
Eagle is up
WATCHING.......
Staying up and looking at eggs a fairly long time this time. Maybe just maybe!!!
darn missed it again
I keep thinking maybe just maybe too
Well, I missed that too, @#*@# freezing cam... so yeah, lets have a little budget $ here, shouldn't take that much...
Pat Collins' dad was my grandparents' doctor in Hyattsville!
I don't know Wanda, politicians can justify about anything.
Freezing on the live feed tonight is horrible! Can't keep it going...
That looks like Lib on the nest to me.
Yeah, but it says funds can be used to-"conduct habitat research" that's what this cam is....
Thelma, dear, my to-do list never gets done:( Poor Gene has my list and one from GeeGee too. It is hard taking care of two houses, but he loves my Mother, like she was his own. Would do anything for her. I am so blessed to have married someone who my parents have treated like a son all these years.
Heading out, BBL
Later Paula
GOOD POINT, Megan!
I'm looking for loopholes...
my cam hasn't been freezing up
maybe we can hire a lawyer from Dowe, Cheatum and Howe to find the loopholes:)
Wonder if Steve has seen that article. He has been with the PRESIDENT down in Washington. Maybe he had something to do with the allocation...said he was working on a budget.
Night light will be coming on soon. Noooooooo!
And when did an eagle nest get put indoors. lol
LOOK!!!
That chick is almost out of there! Won't be long!!
EAGLE WAS UP AGAIN. I MISSED SOME OF IT.
I think I finally saw some movement in eggwell. Gonna check the video brb
lib and belle seem to be so restless and ready
The egg towards noon looked different, but my feed froze and then jerked forward to when he was back down on egg cup.
Thanx, Paula...you're the pro at telling them apart!
Me, too, Megan. All I got was the Still Cam picture, I hope Glo's video shows something.
LOOK...someone zoom
LOOK!!
Just had a switch, I believe.
Shoot, just got back from store & missed a sit up....oh well...
Wonder if they'll be switching in the dark like last night.
saw 3 eggs with a stripe on the middle egg, could not tell with zoom even though it was slo-mo, I'm sure someone got it.
Did anyone really see anything? Now housekeeping duties! ARGH!
Sent my capture via email!
Well I surely can't say anything definite about video I have watched it 3 times..Then at switch yes did zoom in on middle egg and it does look very different from other too. Thats about all I can say for sure. I will save video and picture keep an eagle eye.
I saw a big hole...very big hole. Top egg...took two photos, but sorta blurred.
I have video. I will work on it. I saw the egg with a stripe on it. When the eagle cam in to turn them, there were only two eggs showing, not stripe. I am not sure it it was grass??
Have posted imag eof what I saw at switch on For the Love of Eagles...will wait on Debs video now in case they are similar takes so long!!!!
Well gang I'm signing off for the evening. Holler when our first hatchling arrives. Thanks for the company. The moon is beautiful tonight!!
You all know I'll be lurking, the natives are still restless.
I am not sure either, it was very wide. I just couldn't see it anymore after the roll. Of course I only saw two eggs after the roll, too.
right before eagle got back on the eggs, there were 3, the one in middle had the stripe:)
Did I just see a chick??
I am not sure...
Lynn, you have mail.
Gosh I don't know we have that nightlight glare now. I have some video too just not sure what I see now..will go watch video..adult surely did NOT turn any egg that time.
Glo, your last picture looked like the egg is cracked more.
I have video, too. Maybe what we were seeing before was two pieces of egg.
BBL
the other video is up, out of date now. :)
I am going to be cheering on Shawn Johnson on Dancing with the Stars with my Right eye and watching the nest with my left eye. LOL.
Good video,Deb! I just could not tell something definite.
I DVR'd Dancing.
we are such a mess. geeesh It is time for egg one to be a hatching ..we all know that.
The next video is loaded, not very good. I wasn't ready for it so soon.

Don't you love the priorities??
The Wildlife Restoration apportionment for 2009 totals nearly $336 million, with more than $64.7 million marked for hunter education and firearm and archery range programs. The Sport Fish Restoration apportionment for 2009 totals more than $404 million.
There are two parts to the distribution. The part Mits mentioned of $4 mill for Sport fishing restoration and then the second part is $3,782,560 for Wildlife Restoration.
The almost 65 mill for hunter education and firearms training is what kills me. They have to pay here to take the courses, and the courses are required for licenses, so......
Mouth was open---a yawn or speaking?
Eagle up
What do we think now experts???
Mmmm... 3 eggs, she moved back two with her beak, didn't seem to move other-
WOuld she leave the hatchling one alone??
well for the longest time I only saw 2 eggs and then after a stupid long freeze suddenly I saw three. Its so hard to know what the heck is really going on between the glare and the freezing cam.
I say 3 eggs also. It is just so hard to see and then it freezes, then jumps ahead - you miss so much.
Thought I only saw 2 eggs, JMO
Hi there Vicky
Two Big Eagles at LW - Eating !
And two baby hummer chicks in CA
Hi Dana! Think some of us will have a late night!
Here comes my dancer, we should not have a hatch now LOL. Hi Vicky does that mean you will be up a watching :)
Hi Glo! We need to get Iris in here!
well I don't know what the judges will think but I thought it was lovely :) Go Shawn
Good Luck
Now THAT was a fly-in at LW - Mr. almost knocked Mrs. right out of the nest...
Long day at work, Margy?
If it weren't for the spider web, I would think every thing were frozen.
He must have not had his landing gear down right lol
Well shoot Deb I just refreshed both live and still. I don't see any spider web.
I've been using that spider web to tell the same thing. Eagle sitting very still...
More crazy-busy than long, Deb was in there for 9-1/2 hours but it zipped right along...a few big fires, a few wrecks and lots of sick people
Ok I found a small bit of spider web left corner screen. TY ladies.
Very lower left hand corner, Dana.
Chief in command even called in a helicopter from Maryland to fly over the burning area and get a good overview.
Have only read half the blog for today, going back to catch up...
even the spider web is slo-mo:(
Oh, yeah, due to "exigent circumstances" all our staff is more on less on alert to be available - due to high call volumes, and low staffing due to illness :(
That's how I ended up in there today
Raccoon wallowing in the carcass at Pix Pa...can see it now and then when the view switches cams
little raccoon on carcass at PIX
Miserably sad story about the lady in NYC being the victim of violent senseless crime, Mits, I am so sorry to read of this
I need to respond to the critics out there.
I know most of you understand.
Steve, thank you for all you do.
I think we all understand, Steve, but just get frustrated sometimes when the feed freezes. We know this cam wouldn't even be up without you and John and others dedicating time to it.
Belle is awake- wing stretch..
Thank you Steve.
We love watching this nest, but the greatest thing is to know there is a healthy pair of eagles that have settled in our area, generating healthy offspring, and created so much beauty and enjoyment for us. Thank you for all you and your Staff do. Those Eagles are out there doing their wonderful thing whether WE get to watch it or not!
xo
PLUS and this is a Big Plus - this Eagle Family has created many new wonderful friendships and a lot of educational and learning experiences for us...
Steve, Thank you, John and all the staff for all you do. We do appreciate the cam very much!
(and mine hasn't frozen for 2 days!)
split happened...
thanks, Steve and John:)
None of us would make it if we didn't have this cam!! Like Magpie said, so much love and friendship has grown from this cam!
