Hi Deb. I think that flying bird is probably a white-throated sparrow, but maybe another sparrow variety. I'll try to lighten it at home. It prob. looks larger, as it was closest to camera---ctr. of window. Just checked BW, saw feeding time, but too dark to see babies.
We are not done yet! 485 miles down, 115 before we quit for the day. I have been running hard this morning, and now I have to fuel the ol body then fuel the ol truck. Yes, I took IH10 instead of the backroads. Fuel department changed my route because fuel suddenly got cheaper further south overnight I guess. So, I just now had the chance to update the map. LOL
Will continue the last part of the trip after lunch.
No problem using comments in the blog to chat, just remember they get delayed a bit. :)
Oh, and while driving through Mobile, ALabama, I made two new videos!
H-e-l-l-o.....! We are here at Big Chief RV Park. And (Whoopee!) my computer works!
We have a beautiful view of the lake. Probably won't do much today, but tomorrow going to Canyon of the Eagles (hee hee) to search for eagles! Going to do some hiking if it is not too hot! Not sure of the temp, but we have short sleeves on and a nice breeze.
WOW, Hello, Lolly! Wasn't that a show? LOL Are you in OK or TX? Sounds like great weather.Hope you get some great pics at Eagle Canyon. We (in DC area) will be getting 60 by end of week!!
We are in Texas on Lake Buchanan. It is west of Austin in central Texas. It is the area of Texas known as the Hill Country. Very different from your part of the country and mine as well, and it has a beauty of all its own.
Yea! I was successful! I downloaded pictures. And, put one on the blog. (misc pictures) It is a picture of Joseph. Have not taken pictures here yet....but I will!
Nope, haven't been able to spot a second egg at WE....pretty sure it's there, from the video and everyone's observations last night...plus eagle has been tending to nest vigoursly...been on the nest all day, none of the standing around stuff.
This is from the Saline Site: ANIMAL FEEDER SETUP AT 6:30 PM, EST In yet another astounding feat of technology, we will demonstrate our one person camera operation thing.
lol....hope Bill and Mrs Bill never have a fight we can hear, she was nagging him about something when he came in...shutting down the server for about 5 mins...probably has to write the menu.
mine was pixilated while he was outside, but sound was fine, even when he had us listen to his intro, he said, that will bother some, I'm sure his neighbors in the other townhouse are not happy with him....glad he is having fun:)
You gals are too kind! My pics are NOTHING compared to what you all do, but thanks. Remembered that I have some fairly decent shots of my yews from the Feb. ice, so I'll post them in a little while. I LOVE evergreens of all kinds.
It was new puppies when I started watching, too, then they kept getting older. I thought maybe more than one batch. I read the chat and someone there said it wasn't live right now??
I was going to post the Depression thing, too. There is a website, too. Reminds me that I have a recipe from my MIL called "Hoover Cake" (named after the Pres who lived across the road from my Grandma's aunt), not the vac or Sharon!!!! I'll dig it out and email the recipe later...it's delicious!
Long night...longer day but wanted to stop in to say Hi to everyone. Those are certainly cute little eyes on those 2 at BW soon we will see cute little fuzz balls with cute little eyes right there at NCTC.
JUST GOT A CALL FROM ED LENNOX..... seems our little lady took a tumble today, and broke two bones in her lower leg, don't know which leg. She was supposed to be operated on today, but surgery got cancelled due to other emergencies. She was fooling with the cats at the door, slipped on a rug that had ice under it and down she went, poor thing. Prayers going out for her...BIG TIME.
Frederick Memorial Hospital, Room I think ED says was 3003-A, she is scheduled for surgery tomorrow around noon, if she does not get bumped again because of another emergency... I talked to Sharon in Bedford to let her know.
Oh, no, poor Jo.....serious if it requires surgery...means pins screws or plates. Poor Mema...and what a crying shame that they make someone wait like that for surgery...after all, they certainly have more than one OR, and surgical team, and surely more than one orthopedic surgeon. Don't they realize who they are dealing with???? OUR Mema!! I was just thinking about the OB watch when I looked and saw this awful news.
Man, I wish the hospital that Jo is at had that ecard thing like UVA does. I don't have alot of good to say about UVA but that is a great public relations service that they provide. Easy for us to send the messages and great for the patients to receive.
OMG.....Jo! Bless her! Oh, I do hope she is not in too much pain.
Paula, got your email with the info. Thanks!
We went for a drive just before sunset. Deer were everywhere. In one residential neighborhood we saw a herd of over 20 deer.

Okay.....need a blue thingy for HI. Help please! Thanks!
Okay, Mits. Didn't remember you mentioning the schedule so thought it hadn't happened yet!!! Yes, Dana...we all are praying. Sure hoping that Margy is okay....wouldn't think she'd be out this late since James would have school in the morning!!! I bet he sure loves his grammy!

Yes, we have WIFI here and it is not password protected, so all I had to do was click on Big Chief when it came up on my connections.
Pretty cool! Jack spent some time before we left to find out how to get our mail while away from home.
Anyway we are up and running.
We are in Texas on Lake Buchanan. It is west of Austin in central Texas. It is the area of Texas known as the Hill Country. Very different from your part of the country and mine as well, and it has a beauty of all its own.

If I knew how to download pictures into this computer, I would. I'll try and see what happens!
You know what?! Jack just had the nerve to tell me he gets computer time too. He has a lot of gall to say that too me!! LOL
Now, now children....you must share!!!!!!
Saline cam is moving around, wonder what Bill is looking for?
But I don't wanna!!!!!
Yea! I was successful! I downloaded pictures. And, put one on the blog. (misc pictures) It is a picture of Joseph. Have not taken pictures here yet....but I will!
I am posting a few bland photos on blog. There is just NO color in the woods now! Should be ready to view shortly.
Evening, all!
Took Boo to the vet this afternoon...he got his ear drain out, hopefully it will stay healed!
Took the dogs for a walk while it was still light out....will be nice next week to get home and have the sun still shining!
WE nest - sure acts like a second egg. Not sure if it's been seen or not...will find out!
Nope, haven't been able to spot a second egg at WE....pretty sure it's there, from the video and everyone's observations last night...plus eagle has been tending to nest vigoursly...been on the nest all day, none of the standing around stuff.
thanks, for the update, Paula
Thank you Paula...I'm sure it is great to be home...yes was a nice day. Bet the doggies liked the walk.
Egg roll our nest!
Lolly, glad you and Jack arrived safely! Have fun tomorrow and hope you spot some eagles!
Eagle is digging in the bowl - nope back on eggs...
Believe that's Belle in our nest...
Glad to hear that Boo is all better, Paula! Pray for no recurrence.
Bill is doing something at Saline, cam is moving and now there is a metal something or other coming out under the cam.
Lolly and Jack, glad you made it safely to the lake. I hope you find the eagles tomorrow. Paula, glad Boo's ear is better.
Bill is talking to us, but I can't hear him.
This is from the Saline Site:
ANIMAL FEEDER SETUP AT 6:30 PM, EST In yet another astounding feat of technology, we will demonstrate our one person camera operation thing.
Hey Lynn = nice pics! Great pics of the nest visit too...hadn't seen those!
Lynn, I enjoyed your pictures, such pretty deer and the cardinal is one of my favs!
BWE parent is up.
What happened to the Saline pics...all pixelated now
Had to reload Saline, it's fine now.
lol....hope Bill and Mrs Bill never have a fight we can hear, she was nagging him about something when he came in...shutting down the server for about 5 mins...probably has to write the menu.
Now it's all pixelated again...anyone else having issues?
I wonder why I can't hear it tonight? Maybe I need to shut it down and start over.
OK now...maybe that's why he shut it down...
Found out about this very late last night...pups were born yesterday.
Texas white lab puppy cam
Just posted pictures of the lake. Could not get good ones as the sun would not cooperate...it was right in the way!
The lake is way down due to the drought. That is why we are not taking the river cruise. 9" of water up river does not work with a boat.
mine was pixilated while he was outside, but sound was fine, even when he had us listen to his intro, he said, that will bother some, I'm sure his neighbors in the other townhouse are not happy with him....glad he is having fun:)
is that a live stream, Paula, or just video, they just took one of the puppies away, guess to its new home. it looked to be about 12 weeks old.
You gals are too kind! My pics are NOTHING compared to what you all do, but thanks. Remembered that I have some fairly decent shots of my yews from the Feb. ice, so I'll post them in a little while. I LOVE evergreens of all kinds.
Saline's menu for tonight...
Tonight's menu:
Turkey and Giblets cat food
Dry cat food
Salami (cotto)
Yukon Gold potatos
Chicken
Peanut Suet
Pork patties
T-Bone Steak
On the puppy cam page is says the next litter is due March 7th so there will be new puppies to watch then.
This was just on the news:
Depression Cooking With Clara
Deb - the pups were born early...yesterday!
It was live when I posted the link...
Hmmm, looks like a repeat on now...
People in puppy chat aren't sure why it was changed, either.
Eagle just flew into H1 and H2 H2 has food. What all that sawing sound at both H1 and H2??
It was new puppies when I started watching, too, then they kept getting older. I thought maybe more than one batch. I read the chat and someone there said it wasn't live right now??
yeah , saw the birth date, that is why I was confused when I saw the older puppies
Not sure why it's been off...actually haven't watched it at all today...puppies where born last night...last one after midnight EST
Puppy cam will be back on in a few minutes...
So I didn't miss any new eggs laid? Or any new hatchlings?
Rocky is at Saline.
RTH in Portland nest.
neither one stayed long.
That Clara was funny, Lynn. She said people now a days are wimps--I am sure we are compared to what she lived through.
off to fix, dinner, that is Marie is:)
Puppy cam back on.
My Mom had a recipe for cake...said it was called depression cake...no oil or eggs as I recall...
Long night...longer day but wanted to stop in to say Hi to everyone. Those are certainly cute little eyes on those 2 at BW soon we will see cute little fuzz balls with cute little eyes right there at NCTC.
They are sure cute.
Paula, if I remember correctly, Hoover cake doesn't either. Gotta look for recipe.
My Mom used to make depresion cake-it had no eggs, milk, or butter in it.
That's the one!
JUST GOT A CALL FROM ED LENNOX.....

She was fooling with the cats at the door, slipped on a rug that had ice under it and down she went, poor thing. Prayers going out for her...BIG TIME.
OMG, thank goodness it wasn't worse. Poor Jo! My prayers for her also!
Oh no, poor Jo:( Keeping her in my thoughts for sure.
Do you know the hospital info, Helen?
Mema Jo!!!!! Oh no, bless her heart. Prayers, prayers, and more prayers. Wish I lived closer!!!
OMGosh, poor Jo!
She's probably at Frederick Memorial Hospital....I'll call and see if she's there....BRB
Frederick Memorial Hospital, Room I think ED says was 3003-A, she is scheduled for surgery tomorrow around noon, if she does not get bumped again because of another emergency... I talked to Sharon in Bedford to let her know.
They still have Jo listed as being in the ER...
Thanks, Mits, guess they don't have patient info updated yet.
I'll send out an email with the hospital and home address.
Thanks, Helen and Paula, for the information.
FYI - I had lunch with Jo yesterday...glad we were able to get together.
Oh, no, poor Jo.....serious if it requires surgery...means pins screws or plates. Poor Mema...and what a crying shame that they make someone wait like that for surgery...after all, they certainly have more than one OR, and surgical team, and surely more than one orthopedic surgeon. I was just thinking about the OB watch when I looked and saw this awful news.
Bow your heads, please.
Lord, please take care of our Mema Jo. Be with her through her treatment and surgery and keep her safe. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

Man, I wish the hospital that Jo is at had that ecard thing like UVA does. I don't have alot of good to say about UVA but that is a great public relations service that they provide. Easy for us to send the messages and great for the patients to receive.
