Hi Deb. I think that flying bird is probably a white-throated sparrow, but maybe another sparrow variety. I'll try to lighten it at home. It prob. looks larger, as it was closest to camera---ctr. of window.
Just checked BW, saw feeding time, but too dark to see babies.

HA!
We are not done yet! 485 miles down, 115 before we quit for the day. I have been running hard this morning, and now I have to fuel the ol body then fuel the ol truck. Yes, I took IH10 instead of the backroads. Fuel department changed my route because fuel suddenly got cheaper further south overnight I guess. So, I just now had the chance to update the map. LOL
Will continue the last part of the trip after lunch.
No problem using comments in the blog to chat, just remember they get delayed a bit. :)
Oh, and while driving through Mobile, ALabama, I made two new videos!
Little bird in my pic might be a goldfinch--they have yellow & blk & white wings! DUH He does look large--maybe closer to window.

We have a beautiful view of the lake. Probably won't do much today, but tomorrow going to Canyon of the Eagles (hee hee) to search for eagles! Going to do some hiking if it is not too hot! Not sure of the temp, but we have short sleeves on and a nice breeze.

Pretty cool! Jack spent some time before we left to find out how to get our mail while away from home.
Anyway we are up and running.
We are in Texas on Lake Buchanan. It is west of Austin in central Texas. It is the area of Texas known as the Hill Country. Very different from your part of the country and mine as well, and it has a beauty of all its own.

Took Boo to the vet this afternoon...he got his ear drain out, hopefully it will stay healed!
Took the dogs for a walk while it was still light out....will be nice next week to get home and have the sun still shining!
WE nest - sure acts like a second egg. Not sure if it's been seen or not...will find out!
Nope, haven't been able to spot a second egg at WE....pretty sure it's there, from the video and everyone's observations last night...plus eagle has been tending to nest vigoursly...been on the nest all day, none of the standing around stuff.

Just posted pictures of the lake. Could not get good ones as the sun would not cooperate...it was right in the way!
The lake is way down due to the drought. That is why we are not taking the river cruise. 9" of water up river does not work with a boat.
mine was pixilated while he was outside, but sound was fine, even when he had us listen to his intro, he said, that will bother some, I'm sure his neighbors in the other townhouse are not happy with him....glad he is having fun:)
is that a live stream, Paula, or just video, they just took one of the puppies away, guess to its new home. it looked to be about 12 weeks old.

I was going to post the Depression thing, too. There is a website, too. Reminds me that I have a recipe from my MIL called "Hoover Cake" (named after the Pres who lived across the road from my Grandma's aunt), not the vac or Sharon!!!! I'll dig it out and email the recipe later...it's delicious!

JUST GOT A CALL FROM ED LENNOX.....
seems our little lady took a tumble today, and broke two bones in her lower leg, don't know which leg. She was supposed to be operated on today, but surgery got cancelled due to other emergencies. She was fooling with the cats at the door, slipped on a rug that had ice under it and down she went, poor thing. Prayers going out for her...BIG TIME.
OMG, thank goodness it wasn't worse. Poor Jo! My prayers for her also!

Frederick Memorial Hospital, Room I think ED says was 3003-A, she is scheduled for surgery tomorrow around noon, if she does not get bumped again because of another emergency... I talked to Sharon in Bedford to let her know.
They still have Jo listed as being in the ER...

FYI - I had lunch with Jo yesterday...glad we were able to get together.
Oh, no, poor Jo.....serious if it requires surgery...means pins screws or plates. Poor Mema...and what a crying shame that they make someone wait like that for surgery...after all, they certainly have more than one OR, and surgical team, and surely more than one orthopedic surgeon. Don't they realize who they are dealing with???? OUR Mema!!

Man, I wish the hospital that Jo is at had that ecard thing like UVA does. I don't have alot of good to say about UVA but that is a great public relations service that they provide. Easy for us to send the messages and great for the patients to receive.

We went for a drive just before sunset. Deer were everywhere. In one residential neighborhood we saw a herd of over 20 deer.
Came back but missed the sunset, but did take a few pictures. Then talked with a couple from Illinois. They have been here since January and will go back home at the end of the month. They told me exactly the location of one eagle nest. Heading there first thing in the morning.
