Yes, Jim, it is the Red River. The last major flood was in 1997. They are expecting the river to crest above those levels, by at least a foot, maybe more if they get the rain there, too.
NBG says they are working on cam, and to be patient (what's that ??) lol.. Anyway, Reese from DGIF says the third egg is cracked and should hatch SOON- so hopefuly they fix cam issues soon, keep watchin:) later gators
03/23/09: With the parents spending less time at the nest with food, our younger eaglet is getting creative with the way it sneaks some food while its bigger sibling hovers nearby.
As a reminder, we recently updated the Eagle Cam Web Log.
Good morning. Lovely day, tho' still chilly. Trying to get some cleaning done....don't have as much energy as I thought!! Sure looks like winter again in Finney over water area! Loved your singing this am, gals...I never heard of that song before....I was thinking of the rock'n'roll song about "tossing and turning" too! Nice article in our paper today about the Eagle count going on in the southern part of the state, including around that lake, Norma. Think they've got a close estimate of 9 nesting pairs and several juvies.
Red River flooding in Fargo....they've doubled sandbag need from 1 million to 2. Sounds serious. Blizzard bad, too. What a mess. Throw in Redoubt and aftereffects, climate could be a real mess!!
Saw that, Hedgie, and read something also that it could be Isla due to the coloration... I was speed-reading a little though....there was an update on the page....
