Apparently, the Two Harbors pair has doubled their historic achievement today.

They hatched their second chick without the help of man (Dr. Sharpe and Steffi).

hedgie said...

Thanks, Jim! Way to go Two Harbors!!!

movin said...

Here's a bluie link to a clip showing both TH chicks this A.M.

TH's chicks

hedgie said...

They are eager hungry chicklets! Wonder why they are so much darker than ours??

magpie said...

Speaking of hungry chiclet..
our is getting a feeding right now !

magpie said...

Bye Bye parent....now let's see what the baby does next...

magpie said...

Kind of reminds me of this:

All Alone Am I

☺ ♥ ♫

magpie said...

But Miracle Hidey is Never Alone with us around ! ☺ ♥

hedgie said...

How did you learn to do that, Margy? From Megan? Cool!!!!

magpie said...

Quick! Colorado two chicks being fed -

magpie said...

Deb will be most pleased!
wish she were here to get a video, but bet she is having a blast bird-watching !

magpie said...

Parent is back....our nest

magpie said...

I might be all by myself on here...

magpie said...

Make Colorado full screen for some real fun !

hedgie said...

Margy, do you get NASA channel on cable? TOuchdown in judt under 35 mins.

hedgie said...

Where did baby go?

hedgie said...

I can't get CO any bigger...
I was trying to figure out out to tape a video of our nest yesterday....but it wouldn't work...need some lessons from a pro!

magpie said...

Looks like both babies at Colo were getting a good feeding, one seemed to be licking the half egg !

hedgie said...

Checked to see if there was a new thread, but there isn't...looks like it's just you and me, Marg!

magpie said...

Hedgie...
I do not....my bill is only $21.27 so it is the bare bones...

Can you right click on the Colo cam and get zoom to full screen? that's what I do..but I have not learned how to make videos yet.

Discovery Landing

Mits said...

hello, I'm watching for landing on puter

magpie said...

I think Jim is lost at Two Harbors or West End or Pelican Harbor!
Or the hummingbird nest.

Maybe I can find NASA channel somewhere on the computer ... ?

magpie said...

Not sure what I am seeing but I guess baby owlets at New Mexico nest :
New Mexico Owlets Cam

magpie said...

Parents Al and Betty...

hedgie said...

Nope...tried right-clicking...no full page or even zoom options!
There you go, Margy...Mits posted link for puter viewing!

hedgie said...

Hi ya', Helen!!!

magpie said...

Okay Thanks Mits - I am trying that....sort of works...will punch a few more buttons and see what happens...
just saw one of the Mission Control rooms.

TTFN - will be doing that....xo

Mits said...

hey there, Lynn, just got on the puter and am catching up...didn't know Discovery was landing today. hey Margy, some of us have been watching the owls in NM

magpie said...

And I have Audio !
Thank you Mits and Verizon Internet !

Mits said...

don't forget to put on your volume

Mits said...

Program Note: NASA TV Media and Education streams are temporarily unavailable because of landing coverage. STS-119 shuttle mission coverage is available on the public channel
› STS-119 TV Schedule

magpie said...

This is awesome, and to able to share it with you guys is great !

magpie said...

I love the white shirts and ties !

Mits said...

lol.....Margy, I was thinking the same thing about the ties, and white shirts

Mits said...

hope we hear the boom.

hedgie said...

Hard to tell for sure but looks like the Everglades down below Discovery.

Mits said...

I never get tired of seeing the shuttle.

hedgie said...

Beautiful touchdown. I always get goosebumps with every successful launch and return. IF I WERE RICH...I would be first in line for a commercial ticket if they ever open it up to the public! Wonder what the next generation spaceship will look like? Would think they will be unveiling it soon, since next year is the end of shuttle use.

magpie said...

I am utterly speechless...almost

Thanks to God for the Safe Return of this Crew.....

magpie said...

And I was to zoom and get full screen on this too !

hedgie said...

I was thinking earlier today when I first tuned in that it is nice to see all of those people dressed in nice office attire! We all come from the same generation!
Me, either, Mits....never get tired of it.

magpie said...

Hedgie and Mits !

I owe you one ! xoxoxoxoxoxxo

Mits said...

yes, that is how I watched it, I thought last time we were in the cockpit, maybe they don't do that all the time

magpie said...

Over 5 million miles traveled ~

hedgie said...

I also get irritated with people who criticize the program as a waste of money (MY MOTHER!!) Some folks just don't "get it"!

Mits said...

they all looked like old time FBI agents:)

Mits said...

they have learned an awful lot from these missions, that have helped us

hedgie said...

The miracles of scientific exploration are unfathomable. Space and sea both fascinate me totally!

Mits said...

I hear ya, Lynn...

magpie said...

Skies looked crummy for a landing....I'm surprised they could land in Florida....

hedgie said...

Winds are still pretty strong there....typical coastal breezes.

Mits said...

I was kinda surprised at landing also, but guess as long as there were no storms in the area

Mits said...

well BBL, have not checked on any cams yet today.

hedgie said...

Lots of birds flying around...LOL!

Mits said...

2 OSPREY AT BWO:)

hedgie said...

I also love seeing Shuttle piggybacked on a 747 for travel back to Edwards or Houston!

Mits said...

FROM BWO.....

Nest Update

03/28/09:
Another osprey sighting on Saturday morning.

Some other active osprey cams --
Hilton Head, SC
Cape Henlopen, DE
DPOF Cam, NY
Loch of Lowes, Scotland

magpie said...

See them Mits, - Hallelujah Hawaii !

hedgie said...

I think the main criteria involving clouds is whether they are thunderheads or not. I may be mistaken...but w/ instrument navigation as opposed to visual, clouds themselves are not a big deal.

magpie said...

I saw Loch of Lowe's, Loch Garten, Kentucky and Puleston...

that's all I had time to check!

Mits said...

Saw the piggy-back right over the beltway in Bethesda, when they brought the one to the Smithsonian Air and Space museum at Dulles

magpie said...

Nest Action at NCTC now too

magpie said...

that was cool, the negative image...

I surely think the Hummingbirds are going to bail today !

magpie said...

WHAT is hanging over the right side of the platform at BWO ?

magpie said...

2nd Osprey has returned

hedgie said...

Neat, Mits. Wish I had seen it! Have you been there? They have a module simulator..but line was SO long, we didn't wait to do it. Maybe on next visit.

magpie said...

I was wondering about Cape Henlopen, checked that yesterday
Great News !

hedgie said...

Don't think we are going to get to see ISS tonight. No evidence of clearing here.

magpie said...

Two One Two One Two at BWO -

Okla is in view again, distorted by the moisture still...but visible

magpie said...

Cape Henlopen has one bird on nest now !

magpie said...

BWE no eagles....wondering if one or both is headed to bWO

something is freezing things up for here, think it was Henlopen....

magpie said...

No ADULT eagles that is at BWE

magpie said...

Astronauts exiting the shuttle now, all going into that little bus....

magpie said...

New Stick Pile at BWO

I would say that is a Good Sign !

☺ ☺

magpie said...

Astronauts are going to do a walkaround of the shuttle soon.

magpie said...

Nice Evening Meal, OUR Nest...

Moving off the Blog for awhile, leaving some room for OTHERS...
