I just LOVE being off of work and being able to take this all in. I think I'll keep the BWeagles and chicks in my thoughts and prayers tonight. My heart goes out to them as they try to survive.

Anyone know if the egg at PH hatched yet? It's very windy there right now...sounds like a storm brewing. At one point, the eagle (think it was the male but couldn't see the number) was positioned with tail to the wind and it kept blowing the tail so hard the eagle was tipping forward and having to grab into the nest with its beak...YIKES!

Hey. JR had to have more surgery Friday. They found something on his left side now. I got very few details except that. He was in the station yesterday so it must not have been too extensive of a surgery.
I am way to beat tonight to even try to do any videos. Gonna sign off, night all!

No, Karen, nothing yet. I said earlier today was day 31, it would be day 32 if you count the day it was laid. Last year the 2nd egg hatched at day 35, if it was the first egg it was day 39. Look for a hatching this weekend.

I would guess it's 50ish there now. Was very pleasant down here today (outside DC)& is 58 now. The wind isn't as bad as it has been.

You got that right. We could do a TV show. I love messing with the new ones. And the bad part is the old guys know it is coming but they don't know when or what. I have been known to break down in tears over absolutely nothing. Freaks out the new guys. One of them went running to Stanley. So he gets on the intercom and says "Who ever made the magistrate cry come to my office" He knew what was going on. New officer thought he was in big trouble.
Stanley explain to him how naive he was.

One of my favorites was when they told one of the new guys he had to take a radar unit apart and put in a his own personal computer chip. And they gave him an old unit to take apart. I came in and saw it and asked what he was doing. he told me. I just shook my head and walked away.

It's 10:30 in So Cal 1:30 in WV. The 30 sec. cam is still frozen, but the live feed works.
Belle is sleeping with head tucked, but she's only "nudging" the cup and chicks with her breast...still warm there and apparently dry, so the chicks are uncovered.
Sorry to hear the BW eagles are not catching the fish they need. I wonder if there is a connection with that fact and the fact that the Ospreys in the area have not settled on the nest box ... maybe they can't catch enough either.

Good morning, world. Beautiful out tonight. Fuzzy moon looks like a big ol' cottonball behind the clouds. Or Peter Cottontail's tail! It was 40° in PA, 53° here. No rain so far.
Love Steve's pic of the sleeping babies! Well, I guess I can see it myself online. That's the pic that came up this morning on the cam, so guess the cam isn't working. Oh well......
All have a great eagle/panda day. Eyes to the sky, see the raptors fly!
Lady BW just got up off the kids. They were sleeping half out from under her, but now she's off them and in the middle of the nest. They're both sitting there watching her. Thosee guys are up awful early!
Our BW kids are sound asleep, Mom is in front of them. Haven't seen these guys sleep like this for a year. Mom's next step is moving out and sleeping on the branches.
Eagle in NBG, but only see one on the branch, can't see one in the nest, but one was there earlier. Maine is MT. CO owl with her babies, and WildWatch is still all down.
Oh, 2 big fat racoons in PA! Cool!
And I guess there really is something worse than the 3+ minute refresh on our cam... it could be down totally... which it is.

It is heartbreaking, haven't seen the other chick attempt to get food at all. MAkes me long for last year when their nest was always full of food.

It's hard to tell on the BWE cam, but I think the little guy moved over to the side of nest. MAybe so it could sit up without getting pecked at. Here it comes toward parent to try to get food.

No, no new update since SUnday. But Dana heard from her yesterday that they had seen the chicks getting some small meals yesterday. Wish one of the adults would grab a duck, they are everywhere down there.
