Donnie, BW chicks have been alone for about a half hour or so. They're snuggling. Never mindd, parent just came back! Lots of activity in NBG, but still no egg. Saw our eggs this morning, didn't see any cracks.
The VA couple are 'moving' sticks' in their nest!!---The male (i think) keeps looking up & 'squawking at something!!!--Good sign they are ready to settle down!!
I decided to get some work done in the garden. Cut off all the zebra grass and cut back the butterfly bushes. I had not noticed the buds starting already. Is that a big fish at BW or what?
good Morning, Just checking in. Its still dark here and getting up earlier wasnt easy. yuck. If I had my way I would get up until at least 7:00. thats sleeping in to me.

OK, I'm going to be doom and gloom for a minute. My brother in Ohio got LOTS of snow last night and the storm is headed East. Do you usually get the storms they do?
Alright, Anne- this is for you- no worries, weather is looking good. Today Mostly sunny this morning...then becoming mostly cloudy. Highs in the upper 40s. South winds 5 to 10 mph. Wow maybe this time NBG will decide it is time to lay an egg or eggs.
The sounds of a buzz saw & other bldg. noises----are DRIVING the 'LITTLE PRINCE' --NUTS!!---RUNNING & TRYING to SEE where the noise is coming from!!!---'poor TAI'!!----
Good Morning! Our pair is putting on a show right now! I see 3 eggs & all kinds of switching going on. What in the world was brought in for today's meals? Road Kill?
WHOA---Did you seen how tender LIBERTY is with those eggs!!---Let's nominate him 'EAGLE DAD OF THE YEAR'----SUNNY---I'm with you!!!----I CAN'T WAIT!!!!

Norma, I see all that snow on the PA cam. I had flurries Sat, came down sideways, but didn't last. There is no snow on the ground at my house! Let's hope it stays that way. Morning, Dana.
Good Morning to all of my great eagle watching friends.Boy did we luck out with the weather and we got none of the snow.I hope that everyone there is ok.
Really is a very large fish!! Hi Helen - I know you were coming in the door just as I did - Hope that flu bug 'flys out' as quickly as it 'flew in' yesterday.
I need to read previous thread posts & answer some emails.
Hello, All. Easier that way, don't miss anybody, and don't want to do that. Jo, I saw my first Robin at my house!! Friday afternoon, saw him when I got home from work. I was thrilled. I know you've had one a few weeks now, but it takes them a while to get into PA, I guess. He was there yesterday too, hanging out with the doves and finches.
DANA---Just GOOGLED!!----SQUIRRELS will "only" eat bird eggs if they are DESPERATE!!---Don't usually eat them!!!------(those squirrels are not desperate)---ho!
Thanks, Norma. Heading out quietly.... Will give pats to all the kids. Man, that fish is gonna be a meal for our eagles for a couple days, huh? it's huge. Hope we get a chick THIS AFTERNOON!!! This is day 35 if the egg was laid on the 4th when the cam came back on. Maybe they're slowing down incubation like the BW couple did, so eggs hatch closer together. But they did lay out and party that one night, one last fling.... All have a great eagle/panda day. Eyes to the sky, see the raptors fly!
you guys are all better than me about figuring out who's on the nest. The eagle on the eggs nowbrought the fish. Flew in with fish, left it in nest, flew out, other eagle got up, ate some fish, stretched wings, then flew away, and the current eagle flew back in and is now on eggs.right, JO?
Good morning all! Man, that is some huge fish in the nest at NCTC!! Almost as big as the eagle LOL! They need to teach the daddy at BWE LOL! Awww he's doing better. Well, will be here off and on. At work right now.
Good morning everyone! Or should I say good afternoon. Have been lurking. Left the live feed on last night. Sure enough, it timed out and I can not get back on. It's an on and off problem. Ahhhhhhhhhh!
Paula, she did that last night too. Not sure if it is the same egg or not but she rolled two more than the other. Look likes she tapped on it with her talon this time. KNOCK KNOCK.
Hi eagle & eaglet lovers! It's lunchtime and also blogtime. I'll reiterate what everyone has been saying: "What a huge fish!" What kind of fish do our eagles usually catch? trout or something else? I saw (and heard) something cool on Saturday. I was out in the yard and heard some crows cawing and carrying-on in the sky. When I looked up, there were 3 crows chasing a large bird - a hawk or something. The hawk landed in a tree on top of the ridge across from my house and the crows landed in a tree next to it. They kept cawing and cawing. Finally, the hawk took off and they took off after it, still making a ruckus. The four of them flew to the other side of the ridge so I couldn't see them anymore, but I could still hear them for a while. It was cool to watch. I couldn't believe how much noise those 3 crows could make!
JILL---My brother used to catch them when we were kids!!---I remember kinda round head!!---with sticky things that sting you---They had to skin them---right?
Hi, NORMA. No, I didn't read that article. Was it pro or con? I'll try to find it online.
MEGAN - Was it you who said last week that birds can tell when a storm is coming due to something in their throat? Have any of you ever noticed that a whole herd of cows or sheep will all be lying down in a pasture before a storm?
They had whiskers, I dont' remember them ever stingy. Yeah more skin like than scales. We used to catch them down at HF. Some really were as big as you. I hooked one one time and couldnt' reel it in alone. HUGE. Caught smaller tuna in the ocean. LOL. But some were manageable and small enough to put in a pan.
Hi Carol - An old farmer mentioned that the animals are lying down for fear of being struck by lightning! I've always said that when they're lying down in the fields - it means rain/snow - bad weather.
Maintenance around here has plans to raid us today or tomorrow...patios, porches??
Carol, the crows chasing the hawk is called "mobbing" and is usually because the larger bird is near the smaller bird's nest and young.
Mockingbirds also mob crows and hawks and whatever else they think is a danger.
When I was younger we had an unusual cat, which got on bad terms with some California Thrashers (like a Mockingbird with a long, curved beak), and they mobbed him whenever he went out during the day...pecked holes in the back of his neck area.
He finally took care of them, but that's another story.
Jo if you rewind sometimes it stops. I have had that happen several times. Belle seems a bit antsy. Keeps changing position in the nest. Didnt' see an egg roll last time but sometimes I miss them on rewind and FF.
Jo that is what happens to me sometimes, after going back it locks up. Unless yours is different you can't go back far enough see who brought the fish in. 1/2 hour is the limit. Maybe Paula got a video.

Parent back at BW.
Thanks JO!!!

I'm not sure - My real player seems to be frozen...... I may be dreaming. I just put it down & will now try to restart.
Just wondering if anyone else is noticing any movement from Belle...?
I am up/running now with Live Feed
I really think I clicked on something I should not have & caused it to stop
Come on little bobble head
Get out of that egg!!!!
Jo if you rewind sometimes it stops. I have had that happen several times. Belle seems a bit antsy. Keeps changing position in the nest. Didnt' see an egg roll last time but sometimes I miss them on rewind and FF.
Yep there was a egg movement. Only one this time. Didn't bother the other two. HUMMMM One giving her trouble today?????????
My video seems to be working fine. Belle moving her head around looking around. Had it up all night, too.
Lunch time at BWE.
Thanks for the info, JIM. I have seen small birds (starlings?) chase crows. Now I know what it is called. ;-)
I was trying to go back & see who it was that brought in the fish...
BLOGGER COP JUST ATE MY LAST POST
Could that fish be a Carp.. I need to look it up. I know they are in the rivers.........
Jo that is what happens to me sometimes, after going back it locks up. Unless yours is different you can't go back far enough see who brought the fish in. 1/2 hour is the limit. Maybe Paula got a video.
Could be a carp Jo. But I think they have rounder faces.
Hey Carol:) I have always heard that about cattle laying down before a rain.
Catfish have a flat head - right?
You trying to tell me some sharks with pointed faces are in my Potomac River... lol
What is Belle seeing up there!
Lib on a Limb??
Looked at carp pictures, don't think it is. They have a rounder stomach area, this one is straight. Or it looks like it on the camera.
Both eagles at the NBG nest.
Carp might be a member of the catfish family. Don't we have any fishermen on here????????? Donnie?
