How great is that!! Thank you so much for giving us a chance to hear the eaglets, Steven. Amazing!
Wow, I saved that clip!
Excellent sounds (with some background noise), Steven.
Will we be seeing in color and/or hearing in surround sound this season??

Jim
I put up the short versions of the big fish flops on my page. I would have liked to done more of the second one, but that is where real player decided to freeze up. I am sure Paula will have the full version for us later tonight1
Off to grocery store, bbl.
WOW! Thanks for sharing that, Steven!! really cool to hear them.
Steven, Thank you SO much. That was totally awesome!!!!!
That is so cool Steven. Thanks.
Thank goodness that big fish was finally removed from the nest bowl!

Fish flop...great title Deb, mind if I use it?

Guess I have had the lucky connection today (knock on wood). Haven't had any problems!
Sorry to report this, but Norfolk has lost their egg. It broke.
Good Sunny Bright Beautiful Afternoon.. Love saying that after the rain and wind last night... Thanks Steven for the video with sound.. Now we have 3 babies to watch... Lalalala spring makes me wanta sing...lol I am watching a program on Travel channel about the birds that migrate there.. Interesting some as far away as South Americia and further...

Thanks Steven, what a thrill!
Oh Paula how sad... What happened? I will go check out site Thanks
Ooops Migrate to the Artic... Not Travel Channel...
Feeding our nest...
Awww Both Belle n Lib feeding standing side by side..
Both parents feeding, how cool is that?
Oh my did ya see that the wind made Lib hover over the nest..lol Bth are still feeding the kids
Sharon wont be long she having a time keeping those rascals under her now..lol Healthy babies!!!! Hi Iris hope you are ejoying this also...
Hello everyone! It was great hearing the Eaglets, thanks for supplying that clip! Has the tiny tot gotten any food today? I have missed some of the feedings and came in late on others.
Hagerstown weatherman Lou just said we are under a weather warning for Friday for snow... Crazy!!!!
HiYa N8t yes they all been fed both parents was feeding them alittle while ago... Hows your day?
Little one got some food when I was watching earlier. Caught the end of the feeding so I don't know how much it got.
Yes Nilla, I asked Norma to keep the nasty weather on her side of the mountain. LOL
gee, every time I hear the word "snow" as in cold white precititation that falls from an overcast sky, I get that "I don't LIKE snow feeling"!
Oh my I have een sleeping all afternoon. Still under the weather here for some crazy reason. I woke up to the last feeding, what a thrill to see that and I too chuckled at Libs hove int he wind and then I read aout the osund test and headed righ tover to new thread. I have tears in my eyes. What an awesoem clip. I saved it too. I can hear it now how ever much I want to.Everyone with the latest version of Real player can hit Download this clip and have it ya know. and mostly I jsut had to say Thank You Steve What an awesome gift you have shared with us today.
Thanks, I feel better now :) My day is going pretty well thanks, how about you? I have been peeking in as much as I can while working. Hopefully Lou is wrong about the weather!
Howdy Jill... Wind advisory is in effect til 10pm tonight... Winds gusting up to 50 mph... Dang snow fall could be 1-3 inches... Alot more i think out in Normas area.. Well guess its our Robin snow... Belles working on egg bowl..
Glo, if you have had the "flu", it takes forever to get over it!
Just checked BW. The way the chick is sitting it looks like his little head has turned white.
Eagle setting on limb at Norfolk.. Winds blowin hard there also.. Any more news on the broken egg?
I think it will all be the same except up in the MTs of Garrett and Grant counties. More snow there. But then again it snows there until June. LOL
Oh I would so love to be there when Suzanne gets in in the morning. She has gotten to see so very little of this whole thing so far and loves these eagles as much as each of us. She will see and hear them on a video. Her comments will be awesome to read.
I have video on the EM blog from Norfolk....

It unfortunately appears that we have indeed lost at least one of the eagle eggs at the Norfolk Botanical Gardens. At about 4:34pm the Female was noted consuming an egg in the nest.
Behavior such as this likely indicates that something had occurred to the egg rendering it obviously unviable. There has been speculation that a particularly hard landing in the nest last night might have damaged the egg. This is a possibility, but again only speculation.
The egg eating behavior serves to recapture the valuable calories and calcium that went into creation of the egg. Egg formation is an energetically demanding process. We still have no confirmation of the second egg we were hoping had been laid. We will watch and hope for another egg. Although there is still time we are approaching the limit of typical laying period for bald eagles in Virginia.

Fish deliver at our nest. Belle was trying to get it away from the egg cup and a little bobble popped out. Looks like the fish is almost under her with the babies.
Belle is being surrounded with dead animals...lol That Lib s Johnny on the spot when it comes to gathering food...lol Cant get comfy in the nest... Kids must be frisky..lol
Now only did we HEAR the sounds of the eaglets today, we saw the SUN shining on the nest... That sure must feel good to Lib and Belle!!
Hope you all are having a great day
That's great, Steve! Thanks so much. I'll share a link to that with our cam watchers.
Gee, when I tried to save it I couldn't... it said it was Adobe Flash Player??? And couldn't right click on it at all...Any suggestions on how I can save it?
Nilla, I am sure enjoying the nest and the sounds today!!!
IS ANYONE ELSE HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE LIVE CAM PICTURE ON REAL PLAYER?? Ops sorry for caps.. mine picture seems to be in blocks... Kids being fed i think
Mine has been like that all day.
Iris, I had to right click a couple of time then it said download to Real Player.
Fixed it restarted real player... She is back on kids
Before I even say hi. I want to type my appreciation to Steven C. for answering 2 questions. Fullfilling the one question. I also want to thank Lisa from BW for putting the thought in my mind to have Steven put where we could hear our eaglets. Thank you Steven C. and Thank you Lisa (BW) for making life in our nest. Even better ( :

Of Course and BIG THANK YOU to Lisa of BW... GloBug your the tops to Gal that video is outstanding... Both aparents are the BEST!!!!!!
Well then Thanks to Lisa and Dana and Steve for an awesome experience this afternoon. I so loved listening to this little family.
Be still my heart. The sound of eaglets is music to my ears. How wonderful to hear them. So sorry to hear of the egg loss at Norfolk. Thanks for keeping us up to date, Paula. I really depend on you to keep me up to snuff. I appreciate it. donna
Eagle has arrived!
He's back...guess what he brought. LOL well I certainly know why he removed the rabbit yesterday he had big plans for today!!!
I just got home, more fish I hear. That is so sad about NBG.
Paula, you are more than welcome to use Fish Flop for your video.
That Lib is some fisher-eagle!
Looks like dinnertime!
Watch out Belle- it's windy alright
He brings his fresh catch over close to the nest cup and then hops back and pulss out a small piece of "nestovers" for himself. Belle now looks overy her selection of like half dozen choices and is preparing to feed supper LOL
Thanks, Deb
Think they'll have fish for Good Friday? HEE HEE
I love watching both of them feed the babies
these two crack me up. They so BOTH love caring for their young. They are such a joy!!! Sure love to see the littlest one pop up while both parents are feeding.
I had to work late. Can you guys tell me if little bit is getting fed now. I can't pull up the live feed from work. Help. Is he okay.
WOW! Music to my ears!
Thanks Lisa, Dana & Steve for making this happen! Glo, the video'Its Super Dad' is wonderful! Ready to go to Deb's to see the Fish Flops!
Just can't get over all the food Lib is bringing in - just hope he keeps it up as our eaglets grow.
According to what I have read lately, our Liberty is da man, alright. What a provider he is!!!!!!!! Of course, it is because he is ours.
Thank you Dana, Lisa and Steve C for the loverly video of our precious eaglets!
It is very much appreciated and cherished!
Mauley feeding just took place and little bit as you call him got fed also. ( : Our chicklets are doing well very well ( :
Sadden to hear about NBG :(
It isn't their year!
Wondering about Maine and Kent also.
Mauley - all three eaglets look great....
Lib got the message and got off the chicks and flew off to the right..
Belle taking night watch again...
i dont think those kiddies want to go to sleep..lol Thank Heavens they dont smell cause think of the warm weather coming and rotting fish laying so close together in there..lol
Thanks dana, and thanks paula. I am so happy.
Fish FLop brought back a memory of the video last year from the Sannich nest on the Hancock Wildlife site. The fish flopped right onto the eaglet (larger size then ours at the time) Some of you may remember it.
Where is the Fish Flop video?? Did anyone get Belles butt flop up in the air earlier when wind blew her tail up and she lost balance?
Nilla I just got to watch Deb's "fish flop". Go to Debs name click and then click on "Debs Photos" 2 videos are there. They are great!!!! ( : Thank you Deb.
Thanks Glo just got finished watching "Its Super Dad" hee hee ..( :
thanks, Dana. Both eagles are at NBG, I feel so bad for them. I wonder if there were two eggs or just the one that broke? I guess we will just have to watch to see, but it is so sad. One eagle flew away.
Great video Deb thanks.. I think i counted 5 fish laying there at Belle..
Oh, did they just come back, Deb?
Hey Dana - did you see the Connecticut osprey cam is back on?
Maine said VA pair mated this evening
No I hadn't Paula I had checked it yesterday and it wasn't. Thank you; oh boy oh boy ... wonder if they will have blue in the nest this season?
Paula, I'm not sure how long they have been there, since I opened the cam about 15 minutes on my timer.
I rewound and found the mating, made a clip of it. If no one got it at Maine, I can post it.
bbiaw
I love it when the nest night light goes on - each little one beds down.
I've seen them get checked throughout the night - but don't know if they are fed ...

That moon is glorious tonight, so big and bright!
GOOD EVENING JO AND EVERYONE ELSE OUT THERE. I just came back from having dinner with my son and his MILto be and bride to be. What a surprise to get on here and see the video that Steven had made with the sound of the eagles. Toooooooo cooooooool! How exciting. I am all goose bumps.
full moon tomorrow it's the worm moon:)
Hi Candy - I bet the evening was quite enjoyable for all you ladies with Josh!
I forgot the full moon was to be on the 21st, Mits. I'll go take a peek.
it will be full tomorrow night, Jo.
Waxing Gibbous, 99% of the Moon is Illuminated
Ok Megan - What is a 'worm' moon?
It looks like the wind is still blowing quite a bit up there, but it didn't sound as if the nest would get the snow. Hope not anyhow.
why do they call it the worm moon, Megan?
Yes, the moon coming home was just beautiful down here and there was still a trace of the sun going down in the west with it's oranges, pinks and reds. Yes, what is a worm moon?
Well, that's what the full moon in March is called, perhaps because the ground would start to warm and worms would begin to move below the ground.
Well, I have one more day to go and then it is spring break for me. Yipeeeeeeeee! Now maybe I can watch some of our happenings in our nest.
Too bad that NBG lost an egg. Hopefully they still have one left?
I still can't get over hearing the sounds of the babies. They are soooo cute.
of course!!!! DUH!!!!!
Yepper! As the temperature begins to warm and the ground begins to thaw, earthworm casts appear, heralding the return of the robins.
I saw lots of robins today pecking
for worms!
off to get some dinner, got most of my stuff done today, but will have to do the rest when I come home on Saturday from taking care of the girls:)
Hey MEGAN, that sounds like a good explanation. Something that I never heard of before tho. Learn something every day. Thanks for the info.
Be back in a few..... Some things to do in the kitchen.....
January: Wolf Moon
February: Ice or Snow Moon
March: Storm or Worm Moon
April: Growing or Pink Moon
May: Hare or Flower Moon
June: Mead or Strawberry Moon
July: Hay or Buck Moon
August: Corn or Sturgeon Moon
September: Harvest Moon
October: Blood or Hunter's Moon
November: Snow or Beaver Moon
December: Cold Moon
STEVEN!! THANKS SOOOOO MUCH FOR THAT VIDEO WITH SOUND!! IT'S AWESOME!!
MEGAN, I can remember as a kid we used to water our grass in the evening the day before we would go gishing and watch all the nightcrawlers come up in amongst the grass. One time they got out of our jar in the middle of the night in the house and we awoke to them dried up on our enclosed back porch floor. Yuk. Needless to say, they didn't get used for our fishing expedition that day. :0
Yep, Candy, we have nightcrawlers everywhere when the temps warm up, we always go out at night and try to catch them. They are really fast.
MEGAN YOu forgot MAN ON THE MOON! :)
I never knew all those different names. You are a wonder with growing flowers and knowing your moon facts. :)
As I can remember, they were really fast and really big and squishy. We used to cut them in pieces to fish with. Yuk for me now. Couldn't do it anymore.
hurray I got to finally hear the chicks. What a thrill, thanks steve so much.
These are from the farmer's almanac. Many societies had names for the full moons, some similiar. Different native american tribes had slightly different names than each other realting to crop times and weather.
Well, it looks like things are calm at our nest and at BWE. I was hoping to see a live feeding. At school the cam isn't live. Guess I'll have to wait a bit.
Mits - Have a great time with girls.
Megan - love the moon list! Worm Moon!
MEGAN That is all so interesting. I'll have to go and look into it.
Hi Anne, weren't the chick sounds wonderful. That was my best event of the day so far. Thanks so much to Steve and the guys for letting us be able to hear our family. Too cool.
I have live feed up but the time I get home to see it its too dark. I guess I will have to wait until the weekend.
Hey PAULA We have the game tomorrow night. I am so glad that it isn't in the middle of the day when I am working. Duke is on tonight and your WV team plays the later game. Hope I can stay awake for that one. Go Eeeeeeerrrrrrrrrssssssss!
Don't forget this hummingbird migration map, there are already many sightings in the USA:) I can't get the tiny url to work, so cut and paste-http://www.hummingbirds.net/map.html
all one line of course
I was lurking as usual and read what each of you are doing for Easter. I wanted to put my two cents worth in to but couldnt at work so here goes. each of us is different. Our Easter picnics a family bar-b-que and egg/toy hunt at the lake on Sat. Sun. is church and a nice family meal. Sunday is a quiet reverent day. I will probably sunburn like I usually do. I put lotion on the babes and always forget me.
Hey Candy! Good Luck tomorrow night!
Got it MEGAN Thanks. Have to look at it some more. We fed hummers the summer before last, but I didn't notice if they were the ruby throated ones.
Boy you guys that wind is really blowing on Belle and the chicks.
If Duke doesn't watch it, they're gonna lose to a 15 seed!
Heidi - and the wind has calmed down some too...not blowing quite as hard as it was earlier today!
Wonder if Stephanie got in for the WV game tonight?
PAULA thanks and you too.
I cant see either one in the Northfork nest.
Heidi...after you lotion the kiddos just use what's left on your hands to do your arms, face and whatever is exposed. That is what I usually do. :-)
I need to get the garbage cans out and straighten up. I will be back later.
If Duke loses this game I am going to dislike them more than I already do. Mess up my brackets that way. GEEEZZZ.
I DISLIKE DUKE VERY MUCH!!!! I would have loved to see them lose th Belmont. It was a close one. Too bad that Belmont guy didn't get the ball to his man, but Duke intercepted.
Oh well Josh and fiance just left for her home, so guess I'll get comfortable in my PJ's.
Lib brought in another whopper today....little did he know... :):)
Fish Flops!
:):):)that fish reminded me of the wall plague fish that used to sing "DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY"
My brother had one...but I think it sang an Elvis song!
News article about Norfolk eagles
WVEC Article
Pul That was one big fish he brought into the nest. Seemed kind of heavy for Liberty to handle. That poor fish kept flapping and flapping. I am hoping that some of it was from a reflex after it died.
What an amazing turn of events for those eagles, that's nature for you.
Wow, how sad for the NBG eagle pair, but they do think that they might try again. Only time will tell. We can always hope for the best. Thanks PAULA for the link.
Well, hubby is just getting home form services. Better call it a day. Last day of school tomorrow before spring break. Can't wait for it to get over with.
You all have a oeaceful night and rest well. Tomorrow brings us a new day with new things happening.
NIght, Candy
Night all take care
heading to bed...GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE
Night Mits and Dana!
I just got back on and both eagles were at Kent. Now only one at Kent 2.
Billy Bass sang a couple of songs. Down on the River, Don't worry be happy and some others. Now they need a singing squirrel and deer to mount on the wall.
I was so hoping that one egg had survived at NBG. The whole thing is so sad.
Both eagles at LW. Our eagle woke up.
Joefore1, one of the zoomers at NBG, posted this clip of when they think the eggs were broken on the Maine Forum.
Intruder at NBG
Forgot my grammar lessons, sound like the eggs were broken on the Maine forum. :(
WVU up by one at the half. Unfortunately the DC channels are showing George Mason instead of WVU. WHAT ABOUT US????????? LOL. I bet Delphia can watch it since they are playing Arizona.
Well nobody can say the NBG eagles aren't determined. And they have about 2 weeks left. If they keep trying they will get it done. Bless their hearts.
Paula, thanks for the video link of the floppy fish! OMG looks like it landed on the babes at one point! YIKES! There was one instance when Lib looks up to the right as if to tell someone "this dang fish won't die!" LOL!
Calling it a day - so glad I heard the eaglets.
Good Night Everyone
Prayers being said for all our needs
Restful sleep & peaceful dreams..
Wandering Wanda Where Are You?
Steven, hearing those little eaglets was definitely the best part of today. Thank you, again! Won't Suzanne be excited in the morning when she hears that?
Night everyone, TTUT.
I checked for the WV game also. Not on anywhere!
Good night all!
58-52 WV over AZ with 6:59 to go
WV is on channel 9 now
Good luck, WV - I'm saying good night!
They keep moving it between 9 and 13. I am getting dizzy. Guess since Mason is losing they are putting on a more exciting game.
59-60 WVU. Duke already gave a heartattack WVU better not.
WVU wins. Now Duke can lose. LOL
WVU wins. Now Duke can lose. LOL
Is anybody still on this here blog??

I think basketball wore us all out tonight Jim
So, WV won their round, I take it Jill..

Jim
Well it looks like Belle has it handled and is sleeping quietly. C(°?°)3
GOOD NIGHT, EVERYONE/GOOD FRIDAY IS TOMORROW...TREAT IT APPROPRIATELY.
Jim
Oh wow, what an awesome video Steve has posted! That is sooo cooolll!!! Just love it! Poor parent has to try and catch their little beaks on the way from on bobble side to the other in order to get food in the beak. That's adorable. Wow, that made my FRIDAY!!!! Gonna be a great day.
Full very bright moon out there tonight, chilly, but no wind or rain. 35° in PA, 40° here in VA. Hopefully it will warm up.
May have to go watch that video again. AT least a couple times, anyway.
All have a great eagle/panda day. Eyes to the sky, see the raptors fly!
Oh, think it's Belle, but sound asleep over the babies. Also see what looks like a fish waiting in the nest to become breakfast. Parent on BW babies too, everybody is asleep. Wish I could join them.
Our eagle has changed positions, but one sec she was facing noon, now she's facing 6. Couldn't see the babies.
I watched the video again, that is just too funny! Poor chicks are just flopping from side to side, and Belle (or Lib) tries to catch their beak on the way by. Towards the end, you can almost see parent rolling their eyes, saying "good grief, hold still for just a second!" Then "gotcha" when the lolling chick finally gets a bite in the mouth. That is just adorable! Parent is almost smiling with their success!
Man, I'm not gonna get a thing done today!
BW parent just left, kids are alone. Hope they snuggle and keep warm. Our eagle has head under wings and back to sleep.
gOOD Morning, Suz....
C(°?°)3
That is a great video Steven gave us, and the sounds are good too. I hope they get it under control and are able to broadcast the sounds too.
You might have read that NBG lost 1-2 eggs Wednesday night...broken either because of the windstorm or a couple of episodes which caused the parents to startle.
Not sure if they're done for the season or not. They might have been going to lay another egg in this clutch, and they have mated again already.
Boy they're having hard luck this season.
Jim
I watched Belle get up and reach her beak down into the egg cup to pick something out a couple of times...like creating better drainage...then she turned and resettled.
All that time and the timed feed still hadn't refreshed. But I was able to refresh it manually.
C(°?°)3
Jim
Have to announce something.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR CAROLINA GIRL SANDY
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU
Sandy, I hope you have an absolutely wonderful day. Hope you get everything you want from this day!!! And many more.
Morning, Jim. Yes, I was glancing back on yesterday's blog, then someone posted a link to the story. So very sad for this couple! I hope she can lay another egg, but it wears the female out when she lays an egg. Hope she has the strength. But part of what I read was she may not have had enough calcium, so the shells were thinner than they should have been. Guess we'll never know, since she did what eagles do and ate the remains. If it was an intruder, hope they leave this nest and find another safer place to have another clutch. I love that cam, but it has been very unlucky for that pair this year! Maybe if they got away from the GHO and the other distractions, to a quieter place, they would have more luck. That's such a shame!
Glad you were able to refresh. Every time I hit refresh, the timer just goes back to 30 seconds again, so it does me no good. Time between refreshes is still about 3 minutes, so I just gave up. Next week we'll be up to 3 minutes and 30 seconds between refreshes, and will have lost another minute on their clock. It's just too frustrating for me to try and watch them. I have the cam on, but don't watch it diligently like I used to. Too many other cams are either live, or very short refreshes.
Oh, I just saw Bob Quinn's latest BW pics! They are awesome, as usual!!! Loved seeing the ospreys, and loved the pics of the ospreys with the GBHeron in the background. And his red-winged blackbird reminded me. Mine has returned. Saw him yesterday for the first time. He looks like one in Bob's pics... mostly yellow wing. Can only see the red when he flies, so I'm thinking it's the same guy that was there last year. But it was nice to see him again!
Eagle on branch in Maine. Looks like they have more snow in the nest. And whoa, very windy, eagle holding on for dear life!
Eagle on branch in NBG.
Good morning all. Looks like Belle is yelling at something.
Suz, did you get to watch and hear the video Steven has on here?
Okay, just read back and see that you did get to watch the video! Awesome, huh?
Morning, Sharon! You are very right, totally awesome video Steve has posted. Loved it! And love it every time I watch it!
Awww, check out the BW twins! They have their wings around each other to keep warm. That's adorable. Well darn, never mind, now they're just snuggling.
The dumb blog is jerking me around, so I deleted a repeat, and by the time I got back to the blog it had repeated the comment again!
I had to go all the way back to the cam page and then open the blog again.
C(°?°)3
Jim
Hi, Sharon,
Hey, if you can get it, Pete's Pond has it's new cameras working, and they are back to live feed stuff.
Probably new lenses or electronics, but it looks better, has better color now.
C(°?°)3
Jim
Looks like Mom BW is looking for food or for Dad again.
He's been doing so much better too!!
C(°?°)3
Jim
GOOD EAGLE MORNING TO YOU SUZANNE AND SHARON. My lucky day, as I got on the blog again this am at school. Hey SUZANNE how about that video from Steve with the eaglet sounds. Wonderful wasn't it. I just wish we could have sound all the time before it is too late, but just hearing this was the greatest part of my day.
Osprey visiting in BWO!!!
Oh and before I forget:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO SANDY
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU.
I hope you have the best birthday ever.
Hi Candy, video was totally awesome. Made my day!!! Besides it being Friday, to come in and watch that, it doesn't get any better than that. Well, it could I guess, the 30 sec cam could really actually be 30 seconds, that would be perfect!
Osprey still hanging out looking at the cam at BWO.
There's a female Osprey on BWO nest again... could be completely new one.
C(°?°)3
Jim
Cool! Feeding time and I can actually see 3 babies!
I see our eagle sitting wide awake on her babies keeping them warm. At least it looks like the wind calmed down at the nest. They had a couple of VERY WINDY AND RAINY days there at the nest.
Hey ;you are right SUZANNE, do we have our first osprey visitor of the season on BWO nest? Sitting there looking like it is pondering the big chore it has ahead of him in the nest building dept.
Our chicks visible now.
