Norma, small birds and squirrels often use the lower deck in large nests for their own nests.
I see what you're talking about at Norfolk, but everything is blowing wildly at the moment... I think one of them looks like the skinny squirrel.

Hi Norma, it's not sunny, but it is bright out! Just 66 degrees which the natives consider chilly!
My friend says it is 45 degrees in PA. That's not too bad for March.

Did I read that Jim's hummer out there is starting another nest already? Boy they sure don't waste any time if that is correct.
Wasn't that the coolest? I was watching last night when that happened. So cool when you can see their every move. It was like she tiptoed away from the eggs for a minute to grab a bite to eat. And that fish didn't last long!

Good morning :-) Just had the changing of the guard at PH. So cool to watch them! BWE sure got a lot of rain! Poor eagles sure working overtime to keep those babies dry!

A line of showers extending from western Maryland southeast to Greene County will move quickly east about 40 mph and is expected to reach a Frederick Maryland and Orange Virginia line by 3 PM. A brief thunderstorm is also possible with the strongest showers. Winds are expected to gusts over 45 mph behind this line.
Looks like our eagle is trying to catch a little shut-eye....
Oh, and does/did anyone see the blue stuff in the BWE nest...maybe the eggshells look bluish...was a blurry blue earlier...

Gotten really dark here, and the wind is picking up,radar shows it'll be raining in Shepherdstwon sson, a heavy band of showers at first, then lighter rain. It's 46°now,so at least it's not snow.

I was looking at Maine earlier, and everything looked fine...beautiful nest, no snow, blue-ish sky, but there are no eagles in sight, or site.
Then I cranked the sound up. Sounds like heavy rain to me. Could explain no eagles in the nest.

She's just about out of the heavy rain, thundering loudly, dog is freaking out here. Wind gusting from 15 to 26 mph.

Ok, very strong line of showers just passed by the nest. Looks like that's it for now. Sky tightening back up. Still windy, and it's going to be that way for a while, last gust was 22 mph.
