YEs, both were there a little while ago, someone brought a fish, I'm asssuming lib,. then he was back with a stick, then a short feeding by Belle, whcich tiny seemed to sleep through.
Well sure Paula, come on over, but please bring the donuts:) Lets hope John gets up early on Saturdays and can reset the feed for everyone who can't get it.
Congratulations NORMA for being our #1 Eagle MOM on the new thread for today. You were on the ball! Thank you for the heads up. Thanks Steve for the new thread. It was getting to be almost a record for blogging, it was soooooooo loooooong. :)
WAIT A MINUTE! No fare getting together up there for donuts of all kinds. I'm sitting here with just coffee and nothing beside it. :( Do you ladies want to ship some down to me, PLEASE? :)
MEGAN I left the live feed on all night Megan and it is still working. I cheated. I am so glad to hear that the BW eagles had some breakfast this morning, no matter how big or small. It was at least something and lets us know that the parents are still trying.
Geez PAULA I was hoping that I could wear something splashy wit big giant flowers, etc and long dangling bright flowery earings! Beige, how dull. LOL Yes, I am still in pj's, but I WANT DONUTS!!!! :)
On no PAULA. I thought you were ok. The chicklets settled back down and now parent is bring the fresh catch over to the feeding spot and up come the chicks.
PAULA It is 49 here but the wind is really whipping and with no sun out, it is chilly to me here. Our hottest day was supposed to be yesterday with a cool weekend. I just wish it would hurry up and stay warm, not hot, warm.
I think the MN geese just like to sit together on the osprey nest and watch the sunrise. I wonder if they are there all night. It is sure safer than being on the ground.
Glad the live fed is up for you now, PAula:) mine is still working ok, for some reason though, I still can't open the 30 sec. cam page and in trying further, can't open any FWS website... c u later
Watching the owls in CO was a riot last night. I was watching two sweet little babies huddled together when Mom arrives with a mouse! One of those sweet babies immediatly pounced on that mouse. Then Mom took it away and looked as if to scold the baby. ha! And, the baby, looked like it was saying "But....Mameeeee!"
GOOD MORNING to you LOLLY. Nice to see you up and cheerful this morning. Thanks for the encouragement on the upcoming wedding. I have until October 5th, so I have to stop stressing or I'll be a nut case by then.:)
It is chilly here, but, we like it like that now, makes the cherry blossoms last longer, and no wind please, that rips them right off the tress and it looks like a pink blizzard.....tried all day yesterday to make a tiny url for the cherry blossom web-cam, but just got to nps.gov and use their search engine, it is easy to find, and click on the live cam at the tidal basin.
Morning Lolly and Mits. Time for me to leave. I want to be back in time for the game at 5, my time. I am not sure if any local channels will carry it, since it is on ESPN 2. TTUL.
Hello Everyone! Black screen live feed with sound & Eaglecam refreshing with picture. I hear those guys! Do they peep or chirp? Those of you watching live feed - are they all getting fed. Concerns for the middle eaglet...
Sunny here in the valley but down right cold! Mits- I can open the tinyurl for the blossoms but when I click on the link for the live cam - I can't get it. What am I doing wrong?
Sorry ladies, a friend just called and we got to yakking. Yes there is a feeding going on in our nest.It seems that I missed it while I was yakking. Chicks are settled back down in egg cup; just on ET sticking up yet. :) Parent is off sitting back at the 12 oclock position.
Welcome back GUELA. Sorry about the black pic you two are getting. I left my site on last night when I went to bed, so I guess that is why I have a live pic with sound. I almost feel guilty about having a pic when you all don't.
Shhhh... I'm not here- I'm working.. I caught the end of a feeding, #1 must be pecking, casue #2 was laying flat, while tiny gobbled food. I still have live feed, but still cannot open any FWS webpage, including 30 sec. cam.
Shhhhhhhhh - didn't mean to holler at you Megan. Thanks for the info.
Mits - I did click on the launch button..... I think Geula said she couldn't get it either. Oh Well! I'll just go to the Tidal Basin and "take a hike" lol
ha ah that's ok, just came in to get seeds out of fridge and wake up teenager... the live feed is like a magnet, have to look at it when I walk by..those chicks just can't get situated, every time they all settle down, one wakes up the others trying to get comfy in the nest cup.
WHOA! Osprey was on the nest Another Osprey flew in FIGHT 1st Osprey grabbed foot of 2nd & was almost drug out of the nest as the 2nd one tried to get away
A lot of people are having the same problem, Norma. The only way I could get to the live feed was to open my realplayer and click on the link saved in the file there. I can't open the 30 sec. cam page.
MEGAN---When you go past your live feed----Stop & Listen!!----Do you hear the EAGLETS calling my name------NORMABYRD====NORMABYRD=====WHERE ARE YOU NORMABYRD???????
Well, sorry you guys, don't know what the issue is.. hopefully they can fix it. Sorry, Norma, had to turn my sound down, was getting complaints from the dog and the kid. Parent is still perched on nest and now feeding babies again, tiny is in back this time, trying to climb over the other two.
OH, little bit of a fight between the older two, but when one got pecked he gave it right back, poor tiny is boxed out, he cannot get to the food source, he has laid down.
#1 is lunging in and getting wevery bite, hopefully it'll be full soon. And there goes #2 grabbing some, but tiny is still trying to vault himself over the other two using his wings to steady him... parent moved in closer , tiny got a bite, and #2 also.
ok, #2 is getting lots of bites now, older one has calmed down a bit, tiny is still reaching... flapping those little wings, now he's laying down again.
well I would say 100 or so bites for the biggest two. Maybe 3 or 4 bites for tiny that time. Parent I htink had plans to feed when others were stuffed but tiny is on the bottm of the pile it seems right now.
ok, feeding over , now all 3 are laying down parent perched at 11 o'clock position. All's quiet, I"m out of here again. And the first feeding I saw this early morning, tiny got most of it:) My live feed is still working, but on the right side, it has weird looking blacklines where you should be able to see below nest. hard to explain, but odd looking.
Good Morning (for a few minutes yet) Everyone!! I'm with the crowd that has sound, but no live picture, AND the refreshing cam is not refreshing even id it does say it is....arghhhh - Painful is the word for it! Glo, hope you can get some video to show all of us later....
OK LADIES! WHICH ONE OF YOU MADE MY SCREEN GO BLACK. LOL I came back to find my live cam frozen. Went to do it again and I now have sound and a black screen. So it looks like Glo and Megan are the only ones with pics.
Well I did get a short video I will post on the feedblitz for today. Just so we have something fromt he 29th. Nothing too spectacular really. I now join the rest of you who have sound and a black screen. Time to do something else with my day for sure. I am glad to hear Tiny did get a good feed this morning. They are all having a good enough day then I guess.
I have the 30 sec. cam on that I can keep refreshing, but still not the same.
WE are having new flooring put into the living/kitchen sometime this week, so I have been trying to clear out some of the furniture to be easier to move. When I came back, that was when I noticed the live screen froze and done for. :(
I was looking at pics of the eaglets at this time last year (BWE), basically the same age, and I just wonder why they are not as active as ours who are much younger. I know there are more people who have a more positive spin on thIS than I do, but I just seem to have questions, but no answers. JMHO
Well maybe I am mistaken. Parent has moved away and I don't see anything under it. AND now gone, but a couple of refreshes they had their mouths together. If it was lunch, it was short but sweet.
Good afternoon! Thank you for the link to the osprey site! I am thrilled to have found Osprey cam. So neat! I'm wondering if the eagle's nest has a live cam? I am able to get the 30 second updates from the website: http://www.fws.gov/nctc/cam/eaglecam.htm
There is a live feed cam with sound but it is not working correctly right now. The link for it is on the 30 sec. cam page, live video. You have to have real player installed to run it. It has been having some technical difficulties today.
Thank you! If it was a snake, it would have bit me! :) hopefully it'll be up and running soon. I look forward to sharing it with my students, too! Have a great afternoon.
Hi, eagle lovers. I came to the office today to do some filing (can't seem to do it when others are here) and I see that we don't have a picture for our live video. Bummer! I'm going to a pot luck dinner at a friend's house and am baking a quiche with asparagus and cheese in it. Never had one with asparagus before, but thought it sounded good. When I got to the office there were 9 turkey vultures sitting in a tree right down from the office - a "colony" of vultures, to be more precise. I watched them for a while, but they all flew away when I started whistling at them. Was it something I said!? I wish I could see our babies. :-(
As you can see - I changed my picture. The other one is cute, but hard to see on the blog. Hope this one doesn't scare anyone! I wanted to tell you all about the turkeys I saw yesterday morning on my way to work. I came on a back (country) road. There is an area where I've been seeing a flock of wild turkeys ocassionally, so I was watching for them. I came to this little meadow and saw 3 or 4 turkeys in the far end of the meadow, just out of the trees where a steep wooded hill starts. As I drove by, I looked into the trees and there was a long line of turkeys walking down the hill. They were actually walking one behind the other. There were probably 25 or 30 of them. It was a strange, but beautiful sight!
Good afternoon all eagle friends, and Carol, we have wild turkey here, too in se KY. My husband was cutting hay and turned up a nest of turkey eggs about 10 years ago. Our oldest son wanted to try to incubate them and took them to my Mother, and of course, my dear Mom put them in her oven on warm on a towel she kept dampened, turned them several times a day and believe or not in 7 days we had about 15 wild turkeys. We raised them and turned them out at the barn, and they kept pretty close to the barn for a long time. It is amazing what determination and prayer can accomplish. Today is Mom's 6th birthday in Heaven. She loved anything that had life in it, and tended sick or injured wildlife back to health with love and prayers. Forgive me for rambling. and I humbly thank you for for listening. huggs donna. BTW My live feed is out too, but I can get the still cam if I refresh evry few minutes. Can some one tell me how Tiny is?
That was great Donna. Zach was one of the lucky ones in Kindergarten that got to bring home the "chicken" they had incubated and hatched. I don't know what that thing was but it wasn'ta chicken. UGLY. But it followed Zach ever where. We kept it in a dog carrier out back and when Zach was home he would let it out and it would follow him.
Jill, my husband is the county 4-H AGent here. He has 50 dozen eggs incubating in all the elementary schools in the county. He finds homes for them before the eggs hatch. Local farmers may apply for the chickens (free) only if they have facilities for them. No student is ever allowed to take one home. Pretty little chicks grow up and become a big responsiblity for parents and might face abuse or neglect. The students know this before their class is given the incubators and eggs. It is a big project here. Kids learn how to "candle" the eggs to actually watch the embryo becom a chick. They love watching them hatch. They get to keep them in the room and watch them in their brooders for two weeks. The project allows students opportunities to chart development, journal information, and watch the growth. One class made a special brooder as a class carpentry project, because they had a couple of Pecking Pearls. They placed them together and the pecking stopped on the smaller chicks. Why am I still rambling? How is little bit of fluff?
I am headed out of here for Mass I'll be sure to pray for all the right things - We have so many in need. Maybe though I will light a candle for the cam since it brings the happiness of nature into our lives. Life is Good!
well I still have a still cam. I do nOT hit refresh. I just wait and hope that is will and so far so good. Been kind of a long tough day. We must all be spoiled and in love. Tiny appears to be in front on the still cam now Mauley and I hear loud peeps on the live feed so I am going to assume that peeping mouth is in great position for food. Best I can do.
Still shows feeding. Tiny holding onto that front spot. Think he will get fed. Mellow middle seem sin submissive mode on left and Pecky Pearl is of course right there with her mouth open too.
Finished grocery shopping and putting food away and started dinner and STILL only sound and a black screen... THe refreshing cam seems to be working but not sure how often it refreshes....
Mauley, ramble all you want, I think that is a terrific program for the children. I'm sure my grandchildren have no idea where eggs or chickens come from. Or milk either for that matter. :)

Oh look at those little chicks look up. They don't miss a trick. Does it look like another groundhog?
On no PAULA. I thought you were ok. The chicklets settled back down and now parent is bring the fresh catch over to the feeding spot and up come the chicks.
Everyone seems to be very polite this morning yet, and one is not eating yet.

I think the MN geese just like to sit together on the osprey nest and watch the sunrise. I wonder if they are there all night. It is sure safer than being on the ground.
Good morning Paula and Candy!
Paula, got on late last nite and looked at yesterday's videos. They

What a way to end my spring break. I guess I should be thankful for what I did get to see and be quiet.
I spoke too soon....the pic is black again! BWAAAAAH!
Parent just flew into BWE. Don't know if food came in yet or not.
Parent gone and nothing where it stood. Must be checking in on the chicks is all.
Candy, BWE chicks got fed some this a.m.
Thanks mits for the heads up. I can relax then on them for a bit.
I have the 30 sec. cam on that I can keep refreshing, but still not the same.
WE are having new flooring put into the living/kitchen sometime this week, so I have been trying to clear out some of the furniture to be easier to move. When I came back, that was when I noticed the live screen froze and done for. :(
Looks like they are eating again
I was looking at pics of the eaglets at this time last year (BWE), basically the same age, and I just wonder why they are not as active as ours who are much younger. I know there are more people who have a more positive spin on thIS than I do, but I just seem to have questions, but no answers. JMHO
Guess I'll go back and continue for a bit. BB
The only NCTC site I can get on is the blog...
osprey landed ever so briefly at BWO
trying to set up the eagle cam. receive message invalid address for the tc/pip address. please help. thanks
Just went back to where Steve set the new thread. He said he hoped that John could reset the live cam from home. Good luck!
JOHN, JOHN where are you??????
Well MITS I was on the still cam and able to refresh, but now I can't seem to do that. Clock keeps ticking.
trish We all seem to be having a problem with that site this am. Don't know what is going on there.
Well, not to be left out of the crowd.. my live feed screen is now black also. What a drag!!
maybe that is a good sign, that it is being worked on:)
Candy - that message was from early this morning...I did email Steve...
I see one chick is way over to the right! Adventurous little boogers today!
And I believe that is Tiny way to the right.
Parent back at BWE - may be feeding
Looks like Dad at BWE
OUr chicks look like they are napping, parent standing guard at noon
Parent back at BWE. Waiting to see if there is anything under her.
I'll be away from computer for awhile
Keep an eagle eye on the Live Feed!!
Looks like a feeding doesn't it?Yes, I have the parent mouth to mouth with a chick. Lunchtime for BWE
Just taking a peek! Still no live cam!!!! Back to the yard work! :(
Well maybe I am mistaken. Parent has moved away and I don't see anything under it. AND now gone, but a couple of refreshes they had their mouths together. If it was lunch, it was short but sweet.
Good morning, everyone, from sunny So Cal, which happens to be 63° and overcast today.
The live feed still isn't quite opening, although it loads a black screen 100%...
I just caught a pic of a female Osprey on the BWO nest again, and this time I think it's the same one, so .....

Jim
Just tried live feed again and got the sound only???
[:~)]
Jim
Good afternoon! Thank you for the link to the osprey site! I am thrilled to have found Osprey cam. So neat! I'm wondering if the eagle's nest has a live cam? I am able to get the 30 second updates from the website: http://www.fws.gov/nctc/cam/eaglecam.htm
Is there another site? Thank you!
The chicks are being fed in our bunch.
[:~)]
Jim
There is a live feed cam with sound but it is not working correctly right now. The link for it is on the 30 sec. cam page, live video. You have to have real player installed to run it. It has been having some technical difficulties today.

Thank you! If it was a snake, it would have bit me! :) hopefully it'll be up and running soon. I look forward to sharing it with my students, too! Have a great afternoon.
There are two ospreys in the nest now... Beautiful! They are noisy, too!
Back - I guess that was a no go on the cam reset....at least the 30 second pic is still working!
Jim, Paula, did little Bit get fed at the 2:30 ish feeding? Did anyone else get it.
But I still can't even open the 30 second cam page!
I wish I could help you Megan.
Doesn't anyone have the EASY button?!
Oh no, I can't even get the still cam now. What is going on?
I am headed out of here for Mass
I'll be sure to pray for all the right things - We have so many in need.
BWE feeding.

Jim
Finished grocery shopping and putting food away and started dinner and STILL only sound and a black screen...
THe refreshing cam seems to be working but not sure how often it refreshes....
Back to the kitchen I guess.
all 3 little heads lined up in a row enjoying a meal.
Thanks Glo and all. We are spoiled. I am so thankful that we get to see and know what is going on even if it is not perfect. donna
cam shows tiny getting his bite :)
And now a bite for Mellow middle
parent is doing a good job getting to everyone from what we can see.
Mauley, ramble all you want, I think that is a terrific program for the children. I'm sure my grandchildren have no idea where eggs or chickens come from. Or milk either for that matter. :)
