Thanks for the new thread, Steven. LOVED YOUR VIDEO FROM YESTERDAY!!! Thanks for the heads up, Rocking! Think we have Lib on the nest after Belle gave them breakfast. Morning, Geula. Two ospreys still hanging out at BWO, and our BWE chicks are snuggling trying to keep warm.
GEULA FROM WHAT I HAVE SEEN BELLE DOES A LOT OF WIGGLE WIGGLE WIGGLE AND LIB DOES OF LOT OF PICKING AND CLEANING AT THE NEST---HE SEEMS TO HAVE A CERTAIN WAY HE WANTS THOSE 3 OR SO SMALL STICKS IN FRONT OF HIM RIGHT NOW---
Belle was feeding them, Geula, but she couldn't reach all the way into the nest bowl, and I don't think #3 got any. Then she flew out.
Liberty came in and moved 3 large fish that were stacked next to the bowl away, and he moved a large chunk down to the camera end before he settled on the three chicks.
It's possible we are looking at the pair of Osprey that will nest at BWO. I don't "think" I've seen either of them before.
Yes, Rocking, they've been alone for quite a while. Mom stopped by for one refresh, and took off again. They've been snuggling to keep warm. Wish dad would show up to baby sit!
Rocking, this male has not been around much, nor has he been a good provider with food. Not at least like last year, or in years past. That may be a reason they think this is a different male. Maybe he's young and learning or something, who knows. Sure wish mom would get back soon though, it's cold out there.
One of the BW chicks was looking up and yelling. At least the mouth was wide open. Female osprey is looking over all the renovations this new house will need.
GOOD MORNING EAGLE BUDDIES!!!!---THANKS STEVEN!---Hearing the sweet chirps from our EAGLETS is a wonderful way to start this GLORIOUS SUNNY day here in WV!! 'HOME OF "BELLE & LIBERTY--PLUS 3"!!!--& the winning WV MOUNTAINEERS!!!!!----temp is 36°---LIFE IS GOOD!!!----MORNIN' ROCKING CR--GEULA---HELEN---MOVIN'JIM--SUZANNE & SHARON!!!----ENJOY!! ENJOY!!
Good morning everyone. up and at em for a while at least today. Will head over for coffee and dog treats soon. SuzanneI was anxious to read your response when you saw you could bOTH see and hear the nest this morning at least for a little over a minute. wasn't that cool.
Well all have a good day. Not sure if I will be back in or not. Happy Easter to all. Easter doesn't come without Good Friday though which gives every one of us something to think about on this "Holy" day.
Morning, Norma. Morning, Glo. Glo, I was thrilled when I saw that this morning, then even more excited to see I could actually VIEW it! Made my day!! Morning, Dave. Think Steve has a number 1 HIT on his hands!!! Oscar for Steve!!
Lisa has a pic of both ospreys on her web page. The female is looking at all the renovations that need to be done. Of course, the male is ignoring that part...lol.
Thank you Steven for the New Thread. Good Friday to you and NCTC. ( :
Good Friday Suzanne, Candy, Jim, Rockingcr, Geula, Indiana Dave, Glo, Norma, Sharon, Mits having a good time with(Maggie & Molly), and Good Morning Watchers.
Good Friday Morning Jo, Jim and Deb. Jim I have the BWO cam up watching for them. Hope they weren't a pair just passing through. We need that nest occupied and chicks this year!! ( :
PAULA!---I see that you all are the 'MOUNTAINEERS'-----You call them MOUNTS?---You have a BIG GAME tonight----As you saw last night with DUKE---'IT CAN BE DONE'!!!!
WOW CANDY!!---If you are awake----I WAS SCREAMING FOR THE BLUE DEVILS TO LOSE!! Almost did---GOOD GAME!!-------
Hey Norma, great game. Watched most of it. Had to keep switching channels, because the DC channel was showing George Mason getting blown away. Baltimore spent more time of WVU than DC did. Regional broadcasting crap.
OH JILL!!----I AGREE---I am on BB with this CUMBERLAND group!!---I KNOW THEY COULD HAVE HELPED US TO SEE MORE OF THE GAME!!!!---You know that's a young crew!---no srs. starting---even a freshman---
My thermometer which is right in the sun right now says 64. I wish. But that means that the BW babies are probably quite warm when sitting in the sun. And it is warmer there. Mom is back now.
JILL---I won't tell CANDY!!!!---ho!----I really wanted them to LOSE---I'm sorry their COACH wasn't feeling well----HE LOOKED LIKE HE WAS HURTING---BIG TIME!!!
I understand DC wanting to show George Mason because they were the "local" team but HELLO they were getting whooped. My friends husband kept calling me, saying "it's on 13 switch" , then later "it's on 9 switch." Our spouses aren't big sports fans. They think we are crazy. I didn't realize they were such a young team. I haven't gotten to watch many games til now. Speaking of which, I need a nap before the games start. I was rudely awakened by somebody who can't read a schedule that most 2 year olds could read.
I doubt it Paula. My thermometer is in the sun right now. That is what I was saying sitting in the sun it is probably a lot warmer than it looks. I think our high is supposed to be 54, then Norma is sending us snow. LOL
SUZANNE----Did you see--The 'LITTLE PRINCE' injured a worker at the zoo--day before yesterday---she was hospitalized--but is fine now!!---I heard it on the news yesterday---Put it on the blog---HELEN said the zoo had called her---the day it happened---& the worker is fine!!---
Norma, I don't like Duke either but I had to go with the most likely winner in the bracket bets. I sat in front of the tv like a kid watching cartoons. HA HA
Paula, had to come home yesterday through Emitsburg. Big accident on 15 at 550 exit, and the cars were lined up for miles going south on 15. Geesh! Was really making good time, too... till then. But I just love your Emitsburg vet's sign! He always has something cool. Last night he had "which came first, the bunny or the egg?" Thought that was very cute for Easter!
Not, bursting, but we are seeing a little green start to come up. NE South Dakota had up to 12" of snow yesterday. Glad it was them and not us. They need the moisture up there, though, so I am sure they are glad to get it.
Norma, I saw the article! She got a few scratches on her leg, she was examined at the hospital and released. Tai is a wild bear, but she should have made sure all the doors were locked before going out in his area. He saw her and thought he had a new playmate! My cats do that to me, though their claws aren't quite that big! But if they want to play, they will swat at my legs.
Norma, NBG lost both eggs yesterday. They think they were cracked when an intruder flew over the nest. The female eagle ate both eggs to recover the nutrients in them. They mated again yesterday, so hope is still there.
ATLANTA CAM is up & the 'LITTLE BEAUTY' is asleep on the top log this a.m.----ZOO says she is adjusting to the separation from LUN LUN quite well----she is food motivated----(Aren't we all)---ho! I think she misses having MOM to romp with!!---
I haven't even seen those two branching yet, much less ready to fly. Getting up a bit with the wing flaps, but can't see 2nd eaglet. Paula, do you take your dogs to him? Or her? Is the vet as cool as s/he sounds by the signs?
There were 2 I thought before I left the room here. I don't know Suzanne. Maybe I am just use to seeing 2 and thought that. Hummmm have to keep watching. Phone had interrupted me for about 20 minutes.
SO SAD!!!!!!!---I should have read yesterday afternoon's blog!!---The NEW NEST must be "CURSED"!!---I still can't believe it!!---I did some reading there this a.m.--MISSED that!!---Like the FL EAGLES----they went back to their old nest----but I think VA'S old nest was destroyed!!!!
Ok, I see the 2nd eaglet at Tesoro. Phew. One is doing wing flaps and getting some air, other one is sorta laying down and chilling. Oh, getting up there!
SUZANNE---I didn't see it!!!!---But I have been watching the MALE (for the last 3 mornings)--"FLAPPING HIS WINGS" like the other 3 did last time!!----Remarked it was a rerun of the 2006 EAGLETS!!!
Paula I have Teddy's old nest up at Conn. waiting to catch when an Osprey comes in. Wondering if they will use "blue" this season too... I love that site the nest and blue water further out around. So peaceful....
Norma I know it is too early at that site for the Osprey. I like to watch and see if anything comes into the nest there. After the Osprey left last season. We had "Oscar" the seagull lol We all had a lot of fun with him. Some here on the blog would say "Oscar is spotted at such in such a place" lol
The 'LITTLE PRINCE' appears to be hiding in a tree--with his head sticking out!!---He has been very restless lately!!---Maybe TIAN & MEI upset him!!----Just roams all over his estate!!---Still a 'LITTLE IMP'----
I think they need to build (artifical) nest near the old tree that the Norfolk eagles used before they built this one. I am sure next season they would use it. Let the owl and the squirrels have this one.
Time for me to hit the road and sneak out. Getting one of my hours back from my marathon Friday. Thanks for the info about the vet, Paula. My vet sold his practice, so I'm kinda looking around before their annuals around June. But that's an awful long way to drive with SCREAMING kitties in the car. They hate the car. Oh well. Everyone have a very HAPPY EASTER, and see you all Monday. Have a great eagle/panda day. Eyes to the sky, see the raptors fly!
Littliest one has head up poking around. Belle (I think) is starting to feed them. She is at back of nest, pulling at fish and placing her beak into the nest cup to feed a chick.
MORNIN' JANETM!!---Aren't they ADORABLE???---They seem to grow over night!!---It is really going to be a delight watching these 3!!!---WE ARE TRULY BLESSED!!!!!
Good morning (afternoon for most of you)! I hope everyone is well today. I enjoyed drinking my coffee and reading the blog to catch up on the nest happenings of our fluffy kids!
AFTERNOON SUNNY!!---Great to see you!!---Aren't they just the 'sweetest things' you have ever seen???----Won't be long until we will see the other side of the little 'bandits'!!!!
DEB---I have been playing catch up with my emails!!!--- YOUR PHOTOGRAPH OF THE PHEASANT IS AWESOME!!!!!--- Too beautiful to eat!!!!---(but i didn't know any better then)
Good afternoon ya'll! I didn't make it on yesterday, and am just now getting on today. It has been very busy here at the hospital. I need to go work with a pt., but just wanted to stop in and say HI! :)
Is it normal behavior for the eaglets to be left alone on the nest so young or does it mean something is wrong in the area? I always panic when I see them alone, so I thought I'd ask!
Hey N8turewatcher, If the eaglets are alone, most likely Mom or Dad are in the tree, but out of our range. It might be a different story at BWE, since the dad hasn't been a great provider

MITS--HAVE A BEAUTIFUL EASTER WITH YOUR LITTLE BUNDLES OF JOY!
GEULA WHEN BELL COMES BACK SHE WILL MOVE SOME THE THINGS THAT HE HAS REARRANGED SO CAREFULLY!!

Hey Norma, great game. Watched most of it. Had to keep switching channels, because the DC channel was showing George Mason getting blown away. Baltimore spent more time of WVU than DC did. Regional broadcasting crap.
WHOA--JIM!!----They got tired of waiting for you to get up & THEY LEFT!!! ho!
Norma I had a hard time with the Duke game. Money on Duke but don't like them. But now they can lose to WVU. HE HE
Yes, Norma, we are Mountaineers too! :)
OH JILL!!----I AGREE---I am on BB with this CUMBERLAND group!!---I KNOW THEY COULD HAVE HELPED US TO SEE MORE OF THE GAME!!!!---You know that's a young crew!---no srs. starting---even a freshman---

Baby is in the back..he needs to puch to the front of the line...he is soo cute...looking this way!
I understand DC wanting to show George Mason because they were the "local" team but HELLO they were getting whooped. My friends husband kept calling me, saying "it's on 13 switch"

HEY DEB---Forgot to ask if SPRING has BURST in SD?????
Morning, Paula and Jill.
Tai is climbing up on his rocks. He's adorable.
JILL---My old college boyfriend used to teach at DUKE!!!
Scarface is eating.
WAX FOR HELEN!
DID ANYTHING HAPPEN AT THE VA SITE????????----Haven't seen any signs of life this a.m.!!
Not, bursting, but we are seeing a little green start to come up. NE South Dakota had up to 12" of snow yesterday. Glad it was them and not us. They need the moisture up there, though, so I am sure they are glad to get it.

My cats do that to me, though their claws aren't quite that big! But if they want to play, they will swat at my legs.
Norma, they lost their egg(s). Female was eating the remains yesterday. Update on their site. Such a shame.
Yes, Norma, they lost both eggs at VA.
I have video on the EM Blog, if you want to see the eagle eating the broken egg.
Norma, NBG lost both eggs yesterday. They think they were cracked when an intruder flew over the nest. The female eagle ate both eggs to recover the nutrients in them. They mated again yesterday, so hope is still there.
Suz - they always have something good on that vet sign....
I think that would be an eagle record if they were to lay another set of eggs! I was surprised they were able to produce a second clutch!
ATLANTA CAM is up & the 'LITTLE BEAUTY' is asleep on the top log this a.m.----ZOO says she is adjusting to the separation from LUN LUN quite well----she is food motivated----(Aren't we all)---ho!
I think she misses having MOM to romp with!!---
Ok, I missed something. How come there is only 1 eaglet at Tesoro???? Did the other one fledge a few minutes ago?
I haven't even seen those two branching yet, much less ready to fly. Getting up a bit with the wing flaps, but can't see 2nd eaglet.
Paula, do you take your dogs to him? Or her? Is the vet as cool as s/he sounds by the signs?

Paula I have Teddy's old nest up at Conn. waiting to catch when an Osprey comes in. Wondering if they will use "blue" this season too...
I love that site the nest and blue water further out around. So peaceful....
Babies alone at BW again. Glad it is sunny
DANA---I checked out that site the other day when PAULA mentioned them!!----Have ENJOYED watching !!!

Osprey at BWO
Lunch at BWE
Chicks still alone...looking around some
I'll bet Mom or Dad aren't far away!
Osprey at BWO, I want it to turn around.
Hey gang! I haven't had much time to post lately, but I watch whenever I can.
DEB---I have been playing catch up with my emails!!!---
YOUR PHOTOGRAPH OF THE PHEASANT IS
AWESOME!!!!!---
Too beautiful to eat!!!!---(but i didn't know any better then)
Hi Sunny!
Really standing up pretty good for a week old
And of course they gotta peck each other!
Mom is back
Thank you, Norma. I couldn't believe how it just strolled along and let me take pictures. Usually they run so fast, the pictures are blurry.
Time to cover back up!
The one chick looked like it was pecking Belle's talon.
I was in a hurry to go back and see if that is what I saw and lost the clip. I shouldn't have hurried. Did you see it?
Which has the necklace??----We watched the most BEAUTIFUL OSPREYS last year from FINLAND---Can't wait to see them come back!!!
LATER--
Good afternoon ya'll! I didn't make it on yesterday, and am just now getting on today. It has been very busy here at the hospital. I need to go work with a pt., but just wanted to stop in and say HI! :)
Hi, Danelle, did you see Steven's clip from yesterday?
Eagle in Maine
Deb, no not yet. I can't get it at work, but I sure can't wait to get home and watch it! :)
Norma - female osprey have the necklace
It did, Deb...couple of pecks
Danelle - you should be able to view it right now...on the front page of the blog...check yesterday's afternoon thread!
Can see more pin feathers on the BWE chicks today
I thought so, I wanted to do a little clip and call it, "Where have you been?" Oh well.
Is it normal behavior for the eaglets to be left alone on the nest so young or does it mean something is wrong in the area? I always panic when I see them alone, so I thought I'd ask!
Is that the female at Maine? It is laying in the nest now. Oops, back up.
I have no clue, Deb. Some forum folks think it is Dad, others Mom!
n8ture - the chicks are just fine...Mom may have been chasing something off or just up in the branches above them....
Paula, just got back from Maine site and now they don't think it is either of the regular eagles. They believe this is a new one.
Hey N8turewatcher, If the eaglets are alone, most likely Mom or Dad are in the tree, but out of our range. It might be a different story at BWE, since the dad hasn't been a great provider
Kent eagle is almost to a two hour visit. I wish we could see the nest on cam 3 to see if they built it in another direction than cam 2 shows.
I just read that too, Deb. I'll leave it up to the experts! :)
Belle up and giving the chicks some air
