Morning all:) Rain is past us now, so the eagles can dry off. Gonna be a little breezy today, though. Today Mostly cloudy with rain ending this morning...then mostly sunny this afternoon. Highs in the upper 40s. Northwest winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. Chance of rain 50 percent.
Well Floralgirl Thats a pretty good forecast. Coul dyou make it like just a tad warmer and a tad less windy. OK itis what it is and thats not too bad. Have a good day everyone. I am home sick today, so will be watching some here and there as I did yesterday.
SORRY ALL -- GOOD MORNING! IT IS PALM SUNDAY AND AREN'T WE ALL SO BLESSED TO HAVE SUCH WONDERFUL CREATURES AROUND US AND TO HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO BE ABLE TO SHARE THIS PART OF THEIR LIVES.
DEB THANKS FOR THE UPDATE--AM SURE BELLE IS THANKFUL FOR A BREAK--THE LITTLE ONES DIDN'T SEEM TO LET HER SLEEP MUCH LAST NIGHT. BESIDES AM SURE SHE IS GLAD TO GET AWAY FROM THE STINKY FISH FOR A MOMENT OR 2 :)
NCTC covers a very large area with lots of woods and fields and wildlife, and it's very close to the Potomac rive, there a lots of birds, sure there are many hawks flying around.
GOOD MORNING EAGLE BUDDIES!!---It's a beautiful SUNNY a.m. in WV today---"HOME OF BELLE & LIBERTY--PLUS 2"----temp 41°---Thought I might see #3 today when I logged on!!---What WONDERS will this day bring!!!---Looking forward to a GLORIOUS DAY!!!----LIFE IS GOOD!!!

Good morning eagle buddies. I was hoping for #3 today....So glad our babies are all right. I only have dial-up but I can get a picture from the live feed that refreshes every 10 seconds which is better than nothing I can almost see patches of blue sky here in NW PA. The snow from last weekend is nearly gone. Spring will come, eventually, I'm told.
Morning, all! Is there going to be a poll about the names after the last one hatches? I just remembered that there is another Eagle named Star (I just don't remember where!~). There are some naming traditions that I know about...One is naming the offspring with the first letter of the name of the mother, like Belle and Beauty. They do that with calves here. There was even a cow named Geula. I just realized that Belle and Beauty fit together. Belle= beautiful! To narrow down the possibilities, I think we should name with B, L and S. Belle, Liberty and Steven. Without Steven and the NCTC gang we wouldn't be sitting here google eyed for 24/7!
WOW!---Check BOB QUINN'S NEW PHOTOGRAPHS!!-----These really are just TOO AWESOME for words!!--- Hey new EAGLE WATCHERS----They are located at this site!!!!
I am hoping the park where Nature works, Patuxent river park, can get their osprey cam online soon. It was on last year, but rather sporadic. It was the first year they had it, I think. You could watch it in the visitor center really good.
rocking CR - no I can't get the daily pics nor the live feed up on Mama Valmont... SO! Live feed on the falcon & eagle are also down for me. But Mama Cali is up & running for 3/16 ! The barn owl cams at Washington are current Both owls sleeping still
Let me clarify what I just said about name....A name that starts with B for mother Belle, a name that starts with L for papa Lib and a name that starts with Steven, for Steven and NCTC! LOL! They deserve to share an eagle name after what we put them through. The whining and cajoling and the treats of camping at NCTC!
MORNIN' PAULA----LYNNE (GRANNYBLT) & GEULA!!!----Great to see you LYNNE----We have missed you!! Isn't is exciting---2 EAGLETS!!!---
BEAUTIFUL GEULA!!---I WANT TO BE THE FIRST TO SECOND YOUR MOTION OF NAMING THE 1ST EAGLET----"STEVEN"------There would not be this WONDERFUL EAGLE GROUP WITH OUT HIM!----If it is A FEMALE---It would be COOL to name her---"STEVIE"---
Yesterdays video links are on the EM blog - there are some good ones from yesterday - If you only watch one, watch Lib bringing in the bunny, which he is feeding the chicks now.
Here are some pictures of the female eagle watching the squirrel, from the Maine forum. They are towards the bottom, in a grouping of 4 pictures, posted by Lori.
That looks like Lib brought in the fish and Belle on the nest....so there must have been a switch earlier this morning, cause Belle was on the nest last night...
There is no better way to spend this day-- JO---Than with your FAMILY!!---you are certainly blessed with such a loving family!! envy you! ho!----ENJOY---
It is nice to see all the food at the BWE nest. However brought in the last one, was eating it at BWO. There was an eagle on the chicks while the eagle was at BWO, so maybe dad is starting to get the idea.
LOL so we have a food aholic PaPa and an awesome suggestion for a name Believe Now isn't that exactly what we have all been doing this whole past year as we waited for this new season, and how the name came together ...Just awesome I for one love that idea.
BELIEVE is a wonderful name! Yes, we DID believe for a whole year that we'd be sitting here again watching such a grand creation! And to think that in a few short months those little bobbleheads will fly out of the nest!
HA, I need more sleep. I thought Rocking wanted us to name the eagles, Be, Li, and Eve. I was thinking, I am going to be so confused. Going to be, I am not off to a good start today! Thanks, Glo, for clearing the fog in my brain.
I think Believe is a brilliant idea!! We truly have believed and stuck around waiting on this time to be here. And, also, the motto for Bluefield High School Beavers is WE BELIEVE!!
DEB---Just now saw your 'SKINNY SQUIRREL' note!!---On GLO'S site--I see some one called him 'PESTY PERCY'---Clever name!-----When I 1st saw the SQUIRREL--Pointed it out to JIM---JIM made the remark that another SQUIRELL was larger--ho!---THUS the name of 'SKINNY'--Thanks!!

Glo, I am praying for you to feel better soon. Sure hope this is not the long draggy kind of fluy thing others have had. Get lots of rest and drink lots of fluids!!!

JIM That is some new face you have there with your comments. Is the question mark on there until we know there are three chickclets in the nest?
Good afternoon to all! Palm Sunday blessings! Just returned from church, read the posts, and headed to Norfolk cam. Eagle there is busily working on the nest. Wish they would lay an egg or two.

Deb I've had my live feed up all night... Still going strong.
Mine is working fine now, too. It just didn't want to start. I read about an egg roll and realized Belle hadn't moved an inch.
DID YOU ALL SEE HER LEAVE THE NEST AND COME BACK SO FAST? DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT SHE IS FEELING SO THREATENED BY?
SORRY ALL -- GOOD MORNING! IT IS PALM SUNDAY AND AREN'T WE ALL SO BLESSED TO HAVE SUCH WONDERFUL CREATURES AROUND US AND TO HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO BE ABLE TO SHARE THIS PART OF THEIR LIVES.
I am thinking there was an intruder nearby and she just went to chase it off and came right back.
Good morning, Rocking, the two eagles switched places. Lib flew in and Belle left. Lib is on the eggs now.
OK, I am going back to watch it again. Did I miss something?
GOOD PALM SUNDAY MORNING EVERYONE
DEB THANKS FOR THE UPDATE--AM SURE BELLE IS THANKFUL FOR A BREAK--THE LITTLE ONES DIDN'T SEEM TO LET HER SLEEP MUCH LAST NIGHT. BESIDES AM SURE SHE IS GLAD TO GET AWAY FROM THE STINKY FISH FOR A MOMENT OR 2 :)
Sharon thinks it is Belle on the eggs now, so I must be wrong, Rocking. Am I confused this morning??
EAGLE EYE SHARON--I SEEM TO REMEMBER THAT IN PAST YEARS THERE WAS A HAWK OR 2 THAT SEEMED TO CIRCLE CLOSE --ANYONE KNOW ABOUT THIS YEAR?
DEB ITS OK---I STAY CONFUSSED SOME DAYS :) 3 LITTLE ONES AT HOME DO THAT TO ME SOMETIMES :)
NCTC covers a very large area with lots of woods and fields and wildlife, and it's very close to the Potomac rive, there a lots of birds, sure there are many hawks flying around.
I really don't know who is on the nest right now but Belle was feeding them earlier and that is when she took off after something.
I bet that happened when I was having camera problems, so maybe I am not as confused as i thought?? :)
looks like little Lib??

I can almost see patches of blue sky here in NW PA. The snow from last weekend is nearly gone. Spring will come, eventually, I'm told.
Oh cool, Mits, is that cam on again?
It was well before the switch, about 8:10 a.m. I saved a pic of just the babies in the nest.

Thanks, Mits. I had forgotten about the cam. Shady side is a nice place, been there once or twice a long time ago in a boat...
I am hoping the park where Nature works, Patuxent river park, can get their osprey cam online soon. It was on last year, but rather sporadic. It was the first year they had it, I think. You could watch it in the visitor center really good.

Skinny, the Squirrel
both our nest
That looks like Lib brought in the fish and Belle on the nest....so there must have been a switch earlier this morning, cause Belle was on the nest last night...
going to need a bigger nest just for the food
Is there such a thing as too much food?
Hmmm...is Lib a food-a-holic? You know, has to have a ton of food around, stashed it everywhere?
Can they get food poisoning from that big rotten fish in the middle of the nest?
Whatever he just brought in looks like a fire extingusher with the nozzle and the handle at the top.
HEY KIDS!---Do you suppose BELLE & LIBERTY are exchanging "fish stories"----They certainly know where to catch the 'BIG ONES'!!---
Doesn't really look like a fish so I guess we could call it mystery meat for now.
They are watching something, but don't seem upset...just watching.
Headed out to Hedgesville WV to visit family
I am waiting for him to move to be able to see all of it...
MORNIN' SHARON!!---I think these EAGLES are a 'wee bit' smarter when it comes to knowing if a fish is tainted or not!!!!!
Have a wonderful day, Mema Jo!
Have a good day, Jo!
HEY DANA!!---I think the 'DONKEY PARTY' is over---I only see about a dozen of them feeding!!!
Sharon - eagles eat carrion - dead animals - so no, I don't think the 4 day old fish would hurt them!
Belle fed some of that fish to the eaglets yesterday...and she had some too.
The food poisoning thing was really just a joke! :)
There is no better way to spend this day-- JO---Than with your FAMILY!!---you are certainly blessed with such a loving family!!
envy you! ho!----ENJOY---
CAN I MAKE A SUGGESTION FOR ONE NAME?
BE---FOR BELLE
LI---FOR LIBERTY

Well no matter what the eaglets get named I have them already named for something that lays deep within. Many good things have happened in my life due to these eagles and I have chosen names to remind me of those things. Maybe someday I can share my thoughts on this.
Boy, did you see how long Liberty had to do hard breathing exercises to catch up after he flew the rabbit in yesterday?
Nobody got a shot of him bringing the mystery food in?
Look how much fish Dad brought into the BW nest. Looks more like last year.
He was on the Osprey nest, but not now... Look at all that standing water after the rain...
I wonder how long before an Osprey pair settle in the BW nest.
C(°?°)3
Jim
Yes Jim, I have video of Lib bringing it in, working on it now.
GOOD MORNING RED, THE EAGLES ARE SO VERY SPECIAL--THEY SEEM TO TOUCH ALL OF US IN ONE WAY OR ANOTHER---WE ARE ALL SO VERY BLESSED TO BE ABLE TO SHARE THEIR JOY!

Thanks, Nature!
They are both in our nest now. I wish they would chow down on that old carp or toss it over the side.
C(°?°)3
Jim
I guess Lib's motto is "Better too much than too little!"
That's funny, she is trying to pull the fluff out from under his feet, and he is beaking at her!
MORNIN' RED!---I understand!!---These EAGLES have truly been a blessing----They have changed my life and thinking in many ways!!!-----I AM A BETTER PERSON!!!---LIFE IS GOOD!!!!!
WOW--WHAT IS THAT ABOUT? SOMEBODY IS CRANKY TODAY
Not sure, but when the clouds cover the sun and you get less glare, the mystery looks like a squirrel with the head pointing toward the cam.
C(°?°)3
Jim
Guess he just isn't ready to move!
PERHAPS HE WANTS A TURN AT THE NEST
Belle finally got up and left
Time for some bunny brunch!

You know I was just thinking - these little eaglets' whole world is encased in a little egg cup right now, with parents feeding them and sheltering them. They don't have a clue that in a few months, they will be soaring high above that nest and enjoying such great freedom!
GOOD AFTERNOON--WVGAL!
OREGON NEST still piled high with SNOW!!!
MORNIN' DANA!!!---No need to check the DONKEYS----Last time I checked---only a dozen or so! ho!

Looks like belle is back!
Hey everybody. Sun is shining but windy here. Guess pollen is out too, head is killing me. Going to check the nest and lay back down.
Hello, our very own Legal Eagle Jill!
That carp looks pretty intact. Has one of the eagles brought in another one since yesterday?
C(°?°)3
