I too loved Glo's pole vaulter. I got on earlier, but went to see the Rachel Carson falcons and got into their video from last years banding and explanations. It was very interesting. I see where they now have two eggs in the nest there.

Thanks DANA. I have the CT Osprey site on now. We have had the osprey invasion since the first week in March down here, but don't seem to have any nexting out front of our house in the nest on the canal. :( Maybe there is time yet. Can't see them like these tho.

Candy I love this site the color is beautiful and you can see them flying down when they leave the nest. Boy are they ever in the rebuilding mood. Enlarging the picture at times you can see the water moving. When it rains there the brown grassy area you now see. Becomes a wetland. This is the site where they had the "blue teddy bear" and hurricane Hestor blew it out of the nest last season. So I am watching to see if they find "blue" again this season. hee hee

41° here, but sunny. You might want to read LISA'S update on the BWE site....I did mention this yesterday and Lisa was on asking for food to be sent to the chicks there, the 2nd one is showing signs of stress from not enough food
NORMA I am not saying anything about the DUKE game as we have games to play yet and I don't want to jinx us. You know that I was rooting for WV tho, and that game made me smile alot. :)

The tree that our Claylick Eagles are in has been in the middle of a flood and it kind of freaked me out but the birds are doing well. But Belle and Lib and babies are much more interesting!!!! See what I can do this weekend. It's frustrating not being able to really "watch" them anymore.

It is wonderful, isn't it? They are definitely vocal when waiting to be fed.

Does anyone know if the BW eagles got fed more than once this morning? I am really beginning to worry about these lil' fellas. They are spending so much time alone and not getting anywhere near the care that the NCTC eaglets are getting.

Well today I do notice a difference in how they look..(not too sporty) and they don't seem to have much energy. Lisa said they felt like there was plenty of food available but that Dad might be a bit immature. I hate it but....

The little guys/gals are escaping the nest cup! I was busy with dishes and heard peeps and came back to see that the parent was still sitting and the babes are out! somebody was pull on a twig! SOON I'll have to worry that somebody will fall off the edge during a poop shoot! I'm Jewish-I worry! LOL!
Hi Athenaa. The BW babies got fed early this morning, then mom left. She came back for a very short (1 refresh) visit, and I haven't seen her back again. I'm with you, worried about both of them. I vote we bribe the ranger there to leave fish under the nest. Maybe mom will accept them and feed the babies!

I'm getting ready to sneak outta here. They are having an office lunch, and with my hours, I do lunch at 8:30 in the morning! That's pretty bad, but I can't eat this late and even fool myself that I'll stay awake on the ride home. So leaving the cube to my cubemate, so she can eat in here.

I just noticed that the BW chicks are awake and moving around. There could be an adult close by, but I don't see one...none on the Osprey nest either.

'Morning eagle & eaglet lovers. Well, I'm back at the computer after being off since Friday evening. I missed our nest while in the DC area. Couldn't wait to see our babies. They have grown -especially their necks! They seem so long when they stretch them out!
I was wondering if anyone has ever timed the time between feedings. I'm just curious if Lib & Belle have a "schedule" to feed the babes - like every hour or so. And whether the feedings are further apart as the eaglets get older. I looked at the BW eaglets. Their color is really changing as they grow. Well, it's good to be back to our nest and away from the traffic in the DC Metro area!!
Thanks, Norma and Jim, I'll be careful, pet the kids, feed the birds, feed the outdoor kids, and all that stuff.
Time for me to hit the road. All have a great eagle/panda day. Eyes to the sky, see the raptors fly!

Athenaa - I don't know if you know the story of our eagles - Belle and Liberty. They raised 3 eaglets 2 years ago - which many of us watched hatch, grow and fledge. Last year they produced 3 eggs, but the eggs didn't hatch due to several snow and ice storms. We all anxiously awaited this season to see what happened. And you can see the wondrous results.
