WVU lost Norma. Somewhere along the line I heard/saw that. But don't ask me where. Last thing I remember watching on tv was the first news conference on the tornado in Atlanta. Haven't had much sleep last couple of days, and tonight isn't looking any better. WHOEVER DROPPED THE BUS LOAD OF STUPID PEOPLE HERE PLEASE COME GET THEM. THANK YOU.
Good evening dear ones, Paula, you were number 400 Isn't it wonderful to experience new chicks this season together. So many comments and I will need a couple of hours to catch up. donna
it will not be easy on Tuesday either, but will be impossible on Friday. Hubby has to go out of town, and is going to catch an earlier flight so he can be in the hotel room by game time.
WOW!---NATURENUT!!---I LOVE YOUR COOL OSPREY NEST!!---WELL!!---I ENJOYED ALL YOUR PICS!!---MAYBE YOU CAN GET SOMEONE TO FLY OVER YOUR NEST & CHECK THE EGGS!!!---THAT'S WHAT INDIANA DAVE IS DOING!!
Oh yes, dear Mits I am working tomorrow. And I must say that your hubby says it is what it is, but mine just told me he had rather be at work tomorrow than in the finest hospital in the US. I really do love my job, though. It's the best one I ever had. (I've only had two - public high school and college) College wins big time. Isn't it joy joy joy to have chicks????????? And it is so wonderful to have the blog going up up up. I love it. Be still my heart. donna
Been there Norma, too tired to nap, but at least we can nap. I think about all the mommies and daddies who have little ones who can't take naps. I know why God didn't make old people to reproduce, and I sure know now why my husband would not let me take that newborn in Nov. He probably would have killed us both. Still, the empty cradle haunts me. With all the 9 grandkids, I would have liked to have tried the newborn. But hubby prayed about it, and God didn't give him a desire to be Daddy again. O well, I'm rambling. Sorry donna
DONNA After being in Kindergarten for almost 25 years, I don't think they would let me back in college to finish up a teaching degree! :) Can't imagine working with college kids. I'll take the little ones anytime. Sometimes they can be a piece of works, but I can talk to little ones better than big people.:)
Isn't is funny how people find their nich and just love it?
Paula - I was gone most of the day and all of the videos on EM let me see what went on at the nest! Thanks!
I can't get over Lib pecking Belle over a little bit of fluff! She listened to him though! I thought she was going to tease and grab some more but...... Poop Shoot was great since I haven't seen one so far this season!
Hi Donna Gal! I'm not going out tomorrow anywhere special but I will wear green! I remember people used to say - you're not Irish & I would reply that I wasn't getting pinched!
So true Candy, There is a gulf dividing high school and college. Students who must pay for their classes want their money's worth. I won't let my students outwork me.
Did anybody see the piece on the egg hunt at Yankuaer Preserve here in Berkeley County. Instead of pretty colored eggs they had eggs that look like real bird eggs and taught the kids about how they hatch etc. If you want to check it out go to your4state.com. The title was Kids Learn About Different Types Of Birds Through Egg Hunt.
I am praying for a third fluffy tomorrow. I don't want him to be so much smaller that our two older fluffies. Oh, little Spunky, I pray you are safe and happy. I love you so.
No DONNA, we aren't allowed to pinch in school. Shame on you.:) I have to go in early tomorrow so I can get the green sparkles around the floor from our cracked open window to our Trap that we put out. I also put little green and gold shamrocks on the green sparkles. The leprechaun leaves us a pot of gold candy coins and some gold coins. The kids are so excited when they come into the room and follow the trail and see what is left. They actually think that we will catch a leprechaun in our flimsy old trap, but that leprechaun is just too magical and gets loose all the time. We all do wear green tho. They have made their leprechaun hats out of construction paper and are all ready for a fun day. Then on Friday, we have our Easter Party. I can't believe that they are so close together this year. Decorating our room and door are driving me crazy.
Allthese wonderful ideas and so little time. Candy, those are really cool suggestions. YOU are making a difference is so many young minds. May God Bless You and reward your efforts. donna
Hi, Back from finishing our corned beef and cabbage early! Enough for both days. Norma, Pics are on this blog. Think you have to click on my name. I don't know any other way to access--NOT a techie.
Donna I thought is was wonderful. although. Yankauer is a nice little nature preserve, we tripped over it last year trying to find a place on the river.
Thanks, Paula, for the info. I am going to take a break and call my dad. His wife is going in for surgery in the morning and I want to catch them before it gets to late.
Thanks Candy. We were talking about the Big East. I said they had lost but Norma said no. But they did. So somewhere in my sleep deprived world I heard something that was real. LOL
Belle was just up a little & something looked really dark under her. Maybe it's shadow on a bobble. I don't think that extra fish/or part would be under her!? See the spidey web ,too. Saw the video you saved w/MONSTER spider walking across the camera!! If I had caught it live, would have left the house!!! :-O
I thought it was a broken shell also.. But I couldn't understand why she placed it back under... Of course the answer is that it takes awhile for get out of an egg.
Probably won't happen until tomorrow morning that we will see. Look she made herself a pillow....
Ok I think that the way she last hunkered down and didn't really care that she had pushed the egg with her beak way behind her -- that we 88% for certain may perhaps have a new bobblehead........ lol Like you said Deb - Seeing is believing
PAULA I knew they made it into the tournament but Norma confused me when she said the won.
I was on the phone and watching the live feed. That egg wasn't normal egg shaped. (Couldn't post, 2 things at a time is my limit when I am this tired).
I do not know what to think. I need to see wiggle wiggle without a doubt. I have een glued to this screen for like half an hour have nearly that much video I am sure. We know something has or is happening.
I just got back on after typing a short letter to the classroom children from the Lucky Leprechaun who didn't get caught in our trap. Did someone see part of an egg? Is she laying her head on the ground?
I guess you will find out where all Norman has been recently. Are you going to be up to partying on St Patty's day! You best get some shut eye --- BE SURE YOU PUT GREEN ON IN THE MORNING............
Well, you all have a Happy St. Patrick's Day tomorrow and wear your green. It looks as if she is settling down for the night and I have to be up and out of here early to play Leprechaun. Goodnight all and have a peaceful and restful sleep tonight. Maybe we'll have a new chick in the am. Tommorow is a new day and brings new beginnings.
I just checked and the ground is once again white. YUCK! The only good thing about snow this time of year is it doesn't last for 4 months, it will be gone fast. I am signing off, tomorrow will be a long day. Please include my dad's wife in your prayers for her surgery in the morning.
I didn't see a switch ut I did see her haul that ig piece of mystery meet /fur out of the nest bowl also saw egg/shell good size ut not sur ehow much really
No switch. She moved the thing out of the egg cup area then tip toed around the edge of the nest and back on the chicks. Rolled the egg but couldnt'see much of it. It is close to the camera edge of the egg cup.
Good night everyone, Deb will keep her in my prayers tonight for good results from the surgery!
Belle finally seems to have settled down! Several of us were over on the chat room and watching her being very uncomfortable. We thought she pulled part of the rabbit out of the egg cup too...
Night night all and I'll see you in the morning - hopefully!
Lolly, I had to rewind it a couple of times to make sure she didn't take off and Lib fly in. If you watch real close you can always see her feet, barely. And she really did tip toe around the nest.
YES Iris. Everything got to where it should have. I am hoping to go down tomorrow and see just "where" Norman was. Oh and the story made the local paper. I didn't manage to get a copy of it. Will try tomorrow, see if neighbors still have it.
No AJ, 3 hasn't hatched yet. Although some thought it looked like it might have a crack in it. I haven't been online enough today to even see the egg. Caught a glimpse earlier but not enough to tell if it was cracked or not. Looked a little mishapen.
Was going to turn off 'puter and saw Belle get up (her back is to cam) & her right foot pushed on something really white! I didn't see her pull it way under her belly when she did her wiggle back down!??!!
I think earlier she drug that dead thing across the egg. It had to have at least hit one of the babies. I guess the eggs are pretty tough. And you are right, time for the little bugger to pop out anyway.
our rabbits ate either grey or white, there may be some black ones here but i havent seen them i have a northern cardinal male that sits on my pool fence in the winter he was here today , he is beautiful , looks like a picture
The infrared light makes it look darker than it is. I didn't see it come in so I dn't know what it was. Squirrels can get pretty dark maybe that is what it was.
I'm sure Mom laid an egg at Norfolk, and she is in the nest tonight...BUT she's not setting on the egg at all, so far. Unless the egg is benefiting from being under her feathers between her feet (like a penguin), I don't think it is getting incubated yet.
They sometimes stall the incubation on the first egg, so it doesn't hatch too soon compared to the others. I read recently that it doesn't hurt an egg in the early stages of incubation to get pretty cold (probably wouldn't want to freeze it though). [:~)] Jim
Well, there might be black rabbits, but I've never seen one ... not a wild one anyway.
But we used to have some domesticated escapees and crosses from them and Cottontails running around where I lived before ... farther south in Santa Ana. [:~)] Jim
Good morning, world. See Belle on the babies and maybe egg, don't know yet. Blog took forever to load, and I see the 30 sec cam is still at several minutes refreshing. Bummer, but will have to go see if we have another hatchling. Windy out, but not too bad. 30° in PA, and 36° here in VA. Bright 3/4 moon and lots of stars, so that's always nice! All have a great eagle/panda day. Eyes to the sky, see the raptors fly!
There is an eagle on the side of the nest in NBG. Don't usually see an eagle in/near the nest at this hour, so maybe we'll get an egg soon. Don't see any updated on their site that we have one, so just wait and see, I guess. Lady BW is waking up, and Belle is still sleeping.
BW parent just got off chicks for a sec, and not sure our eagle has moved since I logged on an hour ago. Course since cam is not really updating, haven't been watching that closely, either. NBG eagle is still on side of nest, but has head under wings.
Well our cam just updated, and eagle is still asleep, but has totally changed positions. That was very wierd! Since it doesn't update frequently, it was strange to see who I though was Belle, in one position, and boom, in a totally other position. Not sure if it's Belle now or not, think there is a fish that was under his /her tail that made it look long. Not sure who that is.
Maine nest is really blowing in the wind, but they'res an eagle in the nest. Can only see the white head, poor thing. Our eagle is awake and alert, looking around, BW parent sleeping on kids, and NBG eagle still on siee of nest. Awake and also blowing in the wind. Can't tell if one is actually in the nest in front of the one on the branch/ side of nest, but that eagle has been there since shortly after 4. Back in a while...
Morning, Megan. Thanks for the NBG update. I rarely go in and read the Maine blog updates. I was wondering if she would be able to lay another clutch. I know laying the eggs is hard on the eagles, and takes a lot out of them, so wasn't sure she'd have the strength to produce more eggs. Sure glad she has! Hope they have better luck this time around!
Yeah, and I think it looks like she's on the side of the nest, not in it. What do you think? I thought maybe one was there, and the other in the nest, but don't see one in the nest, just this one on the side. Maine has one in the nest and one on the side of the nest. Now that it's light enough, think the one I was seeing in the dark was the one in the nest. Didn't see mate fly in, though, but wasn't watching too closely.
They're so cute! BW breakfast is over, mom back on babies. Eagle still on nest in Maine and NBG. NBG eagle is moving fluff or something. Looks like our 2 kids are getting breakfast. Looks like one of them is sitting on the lone egg.
Oh, now I'm excited. Saw it on my never refreshes too much anymore cam, and thought one of the chicks was sitting on the egg. If you're live feed is working, keep on talking!
Hey Nilla! You are right, Suzanne, newest chick was still in the egg shell, popped out and was in front of nest cup. Looked to be moving around fine while the other chicks got fed. Parent now on chicks. They did switch, so I think this is LIb.
It is so tiny compared to the other 2 and really are strong... those other 2 have days of growing ahead of it and they already peck at each other.. Maybe Scrapy and Fiesty names for 1st 2 and Tiny for last name..lol Oops Good Morning Suz & Megan

Paula, I found you note, I was looking on the wrong page, Seal Rocks. Do they have other eggs besides the one they lost?

Jill I think you are too tired to care right now but You're going to get Norma's Cane if you get her team mixed up with the losers.
what a neat idea, Jill
Norma maybe they were losing and I thought it was the final Who the heck knows what I saw.
Our eagle rearranging, eagle at LW is laying in nest.
I am praying for a third fluffy tomorrow. I don't want him to be so much smaller that our two older fluffies. Oh, little Spunky, I pray you are safe and happy. I love you so.
Donna, I'm sure you are really good at what you do:)
MITS It's my team too. Guess I will have to beat myself with the cane.
No DONNA, we aren't allowed to pinch in school. Jill, what a wonderful idea. May I steal it for the grandkids. It is just what I have been looking for and didn't even know it. Thanks so much. donna
sounds like fun, Candy
Oh, neat, Mits. I was looking for the brackets to print out - finally found them
Deb - it was Seal Rocks that lost one egg yesterday
No. 1 Georgetown 72,
No. 5 West Virginia 55
I knew I saw it somewhere. The beat UCONN but lost to Georgetown. Now can I beat Norma with the cane for making me think I was crazy??????????LOL
Seal rocks still has one egg left, Deb.
Donna I thought is was wonderful. although. Yankauer is a nice little nature preserve, we tripped over it last year trying to find a place on the river.
That is a cute idea, Candy! Kids are fun when their imaginations are so big!
JILL WV is in the Western Region and will play Arizona on the 20th of March for their first game.
The winner of your game plays the winner of the Duke/Belmont game.
I did two brackets. Both of them have UNC winning.
LOL
I see you found the info, Jill. WV did lose, but they made it into the tournament!
They play Arizona.
Eagle was just up and rearranging...I couldn't see much
Hey Jo, Eagle Eye Sharon saw that poop shoot! First one I have seen also!
Iloved corned beef and cabbage. Wish Mom was still here. Reminds me of her cooking it. I don't cook unless it's life or death.
Hey Mits did you see Georgetown is playing UMBC in the first round!
Good night all, I have a long day tomorrow. Happy Eagle dreams. If you still have your Mom, call her and tell her you love her. blessings, donna
YES, PAULA, saw that....
is our eagle a little restless tonight?
Was she just up again?
Now she is gonna eat some of that rabbit!
Maybe that was a stick, she picked up something and moved it out of the way, I thought it was the rabbit
the chicks look like they want out, still see an egg
She is finally settled back in, sorft of.....
think I just saw white under there
those poor things need some air
I think I saw movement right by the egg BUT she moved that mystery fur over near it
I think that fish is in the way
well, shutting down for tonight...GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE
I thought she tucked the rabbit right under her, but that is gross. She does have something right under her head.
Check that fish over the side, Belle. Lib will bring more!
Chuck that fish, not check it!
I saw a piece of shell its roken not at all a whole egg.. need to see wiggle wiggle
Check out the nest now.... Really giving the egg some attention.
Down Under.........
Oh Belle what is going on there Girl!!!
Going to sleep again?
Nope! Head Up!
Come On #3
Sure was just a whole lot of egg rolling/checking going on. Maybe tonight's the night.
I thought it was a broken shell also.. But I couldn't understand why she placed it back under... Of course the answer is that it takes awhile for get out of an egg.
I'm Rooting For You #3
Go Go Go
What does everyone see....????
I am rewatching it.
can't tell for sure
WHOo HOoo!!! I'm not sure..
Thank goodness for night lights!
Deb - rewatch it in slow motion lol
Glo - did you catch it? What do you
think?
Paula - did you catch it? What do you think?
I can't tell either, but she is sure acting like something is happening. I hope so, I want to see it live. Video is great, but live is better.
OK so is Belle going to drift off to sleep while we sit here glued to a monitor
Probably won't happen until tomorrow morning that we will see. Look she made herself a pillow....
Ok I think that the way she last hunkered down and didn't really care that she had pushed the egg with her beak way behind her -- that we 88% for certain may perhaps have a new
bobblehead........ lol
Like you said Deb -
Seeing is believing
PAULA I knew they made it into the tournament but Norma confused me when she said the won.
I was on the phone and watching the live feed. That egg wasn't normal egg shaped. (Couldn't post, 2 things at a time is my limit when I am this tired).
ANNE-Check you mail. Norman made it home today.
I do not know what to think. I need to see wiggle wiggle without a doubt. I have een glued to this screen for like half an hour have nearly that much video I am sure. We know something has or is happening.
she sure seems pretty peaceful now.
Sorry was over in my email...I rewound and I saw a good portion of the egg, certainly not half...
I just got back on after typing a short letter to the classroom children from the Lucky Leprechaun who didn't get caught in our trap. Did someone see part of an egg? Is she laying her head on the ground?
Ok, I looked back further....hard to say when you can't see the whole thing
Ok, I am recording the activity from 9:50
LOl she was snacking on that fish, too!
Well, it's either the egg or hunk of fish under there that's bothering her!
I saw her "eating in bed" back then, but before that I saw a lot of white egg
Her poor head gets lower and lower and then perks up all of a sudden to start getting lower and lower again.
I guess you will find out where all Norman has been recently. Are you going to be up to partying on St Patty's day! You best get some shut eye --- BE SURE YOU PUT GREEN ON IN THE MORNING............
Well I think MTBR in the morning
Headed in to get ready for bed...
I'll check back in a few minutes..
Scarface still hanging out at Pook's Place http://moosewatch.com/

JO I will be lucky to get dressed at all tomorrow as tired as I am. LOL.
Raccoons are on the Live Wild Life cam in PA....

Going to call it a day..
Deb - I'll pray for her surgery & for Dr's with skilled hands...
Good Night All
Restful sleep and pleasant dreams Prayers for all our needs being said
Good Monday Morning
Early Birders --- Is there another bobble head in our nest?
Did we just have a switch?
I didn't see a switch ut I did see her haul that ig piece of mystery meet /fur out of the nest bowl also saw egg/shell good size ut not sur ehow much really
Lord, no wonder she has been uncomfortable, she was trying to get comfy with that rabbit under her
Notice my b's have already gone to bed....just fill them in where they go LOL
No switch. She moved the thing out of the egg cup area then tip toed around the edge of the nest and back on the chicks. Rolled the egg but couldnt'see much of it. It is close to the camera edge of the egg cup.
Well, she finally has her head tucked in. Hope she can get some sleep. Not sure, make have seen a wiggling egg on that last roll.
Glo pick your key board up and turn it upside down. Or side to side. If something is stuck under the key it might shake it loose
I saw her get up and get out of the cup, but I blinked and the next thing I knew she was coming in from the back.
She certainly looks settled right now. Think I will take a break and get ready for bed.
probably a dog biscuit crumb Jillthem dogs been eating at the computer again :)
Prayers for all who need them...
Glo, hope you are feeling much better this evening!
Jill, did the postcards get to where they should have? Glad Norman got home OK!
Nite Jill! Looks like it is still quiet around here. So, I will be like Belle and tiptoe to bed. lol
Hopefully we will wake up just as the last egg is hatching!
Yup, gonna hit the hay here too. If we have an eaglet tomorrow, we could just call it Pat. Works for a male or female!
Whoops! Happy St. Patricks Day!
Still the 16th in Texas, but the
17th on the east coast!
Nite Paula!
did the last egg hatch? i havent been on line since this morning
i guess everyone has gone to bed
No AJ, 3 hasn't hatched yet. Although some thought it looked like it might have a crack in it. I haven't been online enough today to even see the egg. Caught a glimpse earlier but not enough to tell if it was cracked or not. Looked a little mishapen.
I believe there was an egg laid at Norfolk today.
ok thanks for the information, i am going to put my pj on and will be back later, i will leave the live feed on
Guess I should have said egg laid yesterday. LOL It was the 16th.
Anyone still up??
[:~)]
Jim
I think they all left Jim. I had to go to work and AJ was the only one here.
parent was rolling the egg , it hasent hatched, part of the egg showed she was blocking the view but no chick yet
Was going to turn off 'puter and saw Belle get up (her back is to cam) & her right foot pushed on something really white! I didn't see her pull it way under her belly when she did her wiggle back down!??!!
helo i am here now
I saw that on rewind but when I tried to watch it a second time it locked up. Looked like she was eating something from the same spot.
AJ, good you saw it was a whole egg. I couldn't tell.
Sorry AJ didn't know if you were still here or not.
she rolled the egg several times it is not a chick yet
hard for her to roll it with the 2 eaglets in the nest they stay close to the egg for some reason
hello all i just got back i took a quick shower and came back
Last year one of the nests had a chick that laid its head on the egg all the time. Was so cute. He thought it was a pillow.
yes they keep close to the egg , dont know why . werried me i was afraid they would crack the egg but i gues if they did it would just speed things up
I think earlier she drug that dead thing across the egg. It had to have at least hit one of the babies. I guess the eggs are pretty tough. And you are right, time for the little bugger to pop out anyway.
someone said it was a rabbit , dont know why she had it in the nest or beside it
i didnt see it i guess it was before i got on
Hi, ladies, I decided to go for a little exercise walk as long as there was lull. It's just brisk out now, about 53°.

Jim
hi Jim 28 degree here
It is still there AJ. That black thing on the side of the nest. She was having a snack in bed I guess.
34 and windy here. Send some nice warm air this way Jim
no little chick yet Belle just did another egg roll
Liberty brought that mystery meat into the nest this afternoon, and he deposited it next to Belle at about 11:00 o'clock.
I guess she moved it later, so she could get to it while feeding the chicks.

Jim
our rabbits ate either grey or white, there may be some black ones here but i havent seen them
i have a northern cardinal male that sits on my pool fence in the winter he was here today , he is beautiful , looks like a picture
The infrared light makes it look darker than it is. I didn't see it come in so I dn't know what it was. Squirrels can get pretty dark maybe that is what it was.
I can't believe how much food is building up in the nest ... don't know if they will ever finish that big ole carp.
I think I see at least two medium sized fish that weren't there this afternoon.
They should get both adults there for a family affair and just pig out ... maybe throw the extra over the side.

Jim
someone said it was a rabbit, i was reading back on the blog i think it was paula there are black rabbits
they should leave the rabbit fur in the nest for a good blanket next winter
Belle just got up about half way to turn the egg, and I couldn't see anything of the egg cup or its contents.
[:~)]
Jim
maybe it will hatch out tonight , if it does come out it will probably get a irish name

Jim
i have heard that allso jim but havent really read it
you still here jill?
I think Jill probably either got called back to work or dozed off, AJ.
[:~)]
Jim
goodnight all, i am going to go to bed , i am giving up on bell tonight
Well, there might be black rabbits, but I've never seen one ... not a wild one anyway.
But we used to have some domesticated escapees and crosses from them and Cottontails running around where I lived before ... farther south in Santa Ana.
[:~)]
Jim
Good night, AJ. Talk to you another morning.

Jim
GOOD NIGHT, EVERYBODY. HAVE A GOOD WEEK UPCOMING.
JIM
Oh, before I forget
HAPPY ST PATRICK'S DAY!!!
Wear your green today!
Mornng, Suzanne, NBG believes they have an egg in the nest. They post their updates more on the maine blog than on the cam page.
I guess only time will tell, since you can't really see into the nest. SHe has been there all night, but kinda sitting, not laying down.
Eagle in Maine up and walking around the nest now.
BW babies are getting breakfast!
She's laying down in the nest at NBG now.
Oh my, my first glimpse of our chicks today!
Eagle at our nest sprung off nest cup. Something is bugging her, just flew away. Eagle came in from other side, and THere's 3 chicks!!!
HArd to see in this light, the last egg is definitely no longer whole, and I see the chick coming out of shell!!
They're so cute! BW breakfast is over, mom back on babies.
Eagle still on nest in Maine and NBG. NBG eagle is moving fluff or something. Looks like our 2 kids are getting breakfast. Looks like one of them is sitting on the lone egg.
THe third chick has hatched
Oh, now I'm excited. Saw it on my never refreshes too much anymore cam, and thought one of the chicks was sitting on the egg. If you're live feed is working, keep on talking!
WE have 3 eaglets!!!! I saw a tiny head pop up while Belle is feeding the babies!!!
Megan, they're all lined up in a row, how cute is that! Am I seeing correctly? And mom is watching them, and they're looking at her?
Hey, Nilla. Man, Belle plopped down on them in a hurry! How cool, congratulations Lib and Belle again!!! May your babies live long and prosper!!!
Hi all,
Yes I saw it also. The third one came out and went to tyhe right . OMG...
How wonderful. I was a little worried about the third chick.
Whooo Haaaa
Hey or name it Irish being born on St Patties Day..lol The Luck of the Irish to survive...
