I've been wondering if our activities in the nest had caused any disturbances with the eagle pair. I'm told that they have been back since the work, most recently seen last night at 6:30 PM.
THANKS STEVEN & JILL for the update & NEW THREAD---You & STEVEN are both #1 today!!!!----Game starts at 7:30--so you all can watch the game!!!---ESPN----GOOOO EEEERS!!!----
Yeah Norma and they will call me to work at 7:35. LOL Although I go to see most of the game Sat. They did better after I went to work tho. Didn't MD just play Tues? I thought I saw them on TV
Oh YEAHHHHH! I'm glad to hear the eagles are still there! Thanks for the new thread, Steven, and the VERY good news! Thanks for the heads up, Jill, and good morning. Norma, I lived in Turkey shortly after Greece separated from NATO in 1974. I was there in 1975-76, (yeah, I'm old) and worked for a NATO HQs. The Greek and Turkish offices were across the hall from each other, and they were not the best of friends at that time. But it was an interesting country, lots and lots of history, and wonderful old ruins! And no, we won't take any kitty over there. They certainly have enough.
STEVEN---I think BELLE & LIBERTY are just as anxious as we are to have them back in SHOW BIZ!!!!!----THANKS TO THE MANY WORKERS----WE APPRECIATE YOUR GOOD WORK!!!
Good Morning JILL & NORMA SUZ--Loved your story of the re-incarnated cat and the men wearing their shoes with the heel turned down. Is that still in practice today?
Hi Wanda. It is as far as I know. Kemil Attiturk took Turkey out of the dark ages, into the "modern" world. He did a lot for that country, and I guess until they find someone like him, they will continue to wear their shoes with the broken backs leaving their heels available. True story. If you can ever find any pics of Turks, males, look at their shoes if you can see them.
JILL----I think that's the PANDA I thought was TAI a few min. ago!!---Need PANDA LADY, HELEN, to set us straight-----Don't you have TV at the Magistrate's Office?
Norma, didn't live in Finland, was there for 2 weeks with a friend of mine for a DJV shoot. Ok, DJV, let's see if I can spell this..Deutschejagdshutz Verband. German Hunting Shooting Club. There was a European shoot, and my friend went to participate, so I went with him. Neat country, but VERY expensive!
NORMA-- The Capt. is an avid Mountaineer fan. He said to tell you to come on over and he would mix a batch of Eagle Talons and you could watch the game togther.
JILL---The a.m. paper says CORRIDOR H will be finished in 2020!!!!---There JILL---You have something to look forward to in your old age!!!---ho!---KIDDIN'
GOOD MORNING! I heard my name! I did sleep past my usual hour of wake up - thanks, Wanda. Liberty & Belle will always know where HOME is - Thanks Steve for letting us know the latest on their wherabouts! I'll be so happy every morning to turn on the new cam & see them! I have a b-day cake to bake this am-son's getting old! Checking out the Princess Dawn
41 °F Scattered Clouds Humidity: 96% Wind: 4 mph from the South Windchill: 39 °F / 4 °C Visibility: 10.0 miles Clouds: Few 100 ft Beautiful sunrise from the bridge cam this early morning. Time for Juneau is 8am - 2 more hrs until she docks.. Going over to read previous thread to pick up any goings-on!
You may wish to bookmark this If that ship docks right there we really could see them get off - or like Skitka they may use the Tender boats to bring people ashore.
Weather would be great today to go to a zoo. Atlanta said with cooler temps they 'push' their pandas outside early morning. LunLun does not like it - but Buta Buta seemed to be ok with it. She can sleep anywhere I am convinced
The water looks as smooth as glass Tomorrow is when the bridge cam will be worth a million - They have scenic cruising through the Glacier Bay National Park.
morning, jo, suzanne, normabyrd, jill just saw that Anne is on way to Juneau. If you go to Juneau, alaska site you can pick up a great slide show of the area.
THANKS FOR THE SITE--JO---MORNING' TOO!!---Still laughing about BUTA BUTA---Bet she was asleep when she was born & will probably die in her sleep----The "SLEEPING BEAUTY"----LOVE her when she chases LUN LUN!!!---
Thanks, Bobbi. I have no less than 4 windows open in AK! One of Anne's ship, and the others of Juneau cams, including the sunrise Paula just told us about. That's beautiful. Let me go find the slideshow!
Glad you liked the slide show. Love the beavers also. We saw a beaver dam that was almost five stories high up there. Couldn't believe it. They sure know how to build. Juneau town is closed in by the water on one side and mountain on the other. Red dog saloon is famous up there. you should be able to see anne's hip docked on wharf.
WOW! WOW! THANKS BOBBI!----JUNEAU SITE has the most BEAUTIFUL PICS---too many to see at one time---BUT!---SOMEWHERE in the JUNEAU site----They were planning a trip from CUMBERLAND, MD (28 mi. from Romney)----That was cool!!!---1 PIC had GREAT SIGN----"DULL WOMEN HAVE IMMACULATE HOMES!!-----I know that sign was meant for me!!!---MUST MAKE THAT TRIP!!!---ho!---ANNE is probably missing us too!!!------NOT!!!!!!!!
Norma I don't even have a real office, just a little "closet" with a desk and filing cabinets.
Thanks JO, glad Nilla is okay. Where has she been? Busy with the babies I guess.
If they don't change the DC cameras, Helen said Tai was on camera 2 the other day but I don't know how they do it. SD has it down. List of cameras with bear names beside it.
BOBBI----HEY I SAW "THE RED DOG SALOON" TOO!!!-----JUNEAU looks like such a colorful place!!!----ALASKA is just too BEAUTIFUL!!!! & EAGLES TOO!!! -----MORNIN' MITS!!
Jill, at the meeting the other night they told us they would be switching pandas between the yards, just for fun and enrichment for them, pandas leave scent messages. They were also telling us that Mei is showing no interest in Tai Shan, so they are not sure if they will ever let those two get back together. Mei Xiang RARELY left Tai alone for along time, but remember she was a first time Mom, not a pro like the SD Mom. They should be doing the exam today.
I can't really see a name....Just know that the ship could be Anne's due to her schedule time of 8am...She doesn't leave until 11pm.. Big day on the town I'd say.
Thanks Mits. Wasn't sure if they switched or not. Still a cute picture with whoever it was looking like they were in deep thought. Course it is easier to tell when you can see two of the 2 in the enclosure together.
I thought today might be the day for scooter exam. And the cameras are being switched alot so either they are doing the exam or they have a problem.
The Island Princess is cruising in Glacier Bay where Ann will be tomorrow. The Golden Princess if at Ketchikan where Anne will be Saturday The Diamond Princess has left Juneau and is headed for Ketchikan The Coral Princess is bound for Juneau
Princess certainly has a fleet None of the bridge cams has a ship docked at Juneau....BUT WE KNOW DIFFERENTLY - DON'T WE?
Morning, Jill and Megan. Jill SD changed their homepage, they took that cheat sheet off. Now unless you remember, can't tell which panda is on what cam. Darn, miss that! Bai and Squiggles are back, but cam has been going flukey all day. Went to half black half blue this morning for quite a while. I don't think that's Anne's ship, cause the view keeps changing on their cam. They're still coming in.
Oh, they just put the flag up on the ship. And Bai just left Sqigs, who is gonna move. Well, no she just turned onto her tummy from her side. Ok, or his side.
Forgot, they updated the Archive pages yesterday with info about Bai leaving Squiggles for longer and longer periods of time. Interesting reading if you get a chance.
Oh, I found it Jill! THANK YOU! Drove me nuts yesterday when they switched to someone outside, and I couldn't find the thing. Didn't have a clue who was on cam.
MORNIN' MEGAN!!!----I think we should start saving our "PENNIES"!!!----Then we might get there before we die!!!---ho!!--But watching for ANNE-MARIE is fun too!!!!
Oh yes, Bobbi - I wanted everyone to know that you only live a few miles live from the Tesoro Eagles' nest.. I also think we will have a first hand report from you this eagle season!
Wow, time for me to hit the road. This is so cool, hate to leave. Well....almost. All have a great cruisin' eagle/panda day. Very short visit this AM in BW by one eagle, maybe you will see some in Alaska! All that wiggling around this morning, and Squiggles/Scooter hasn't moved since Bai left a while ago. Eyes to the sky, see the raptors fly!
Thanks Jo. Have so many websites open on alaska. Tesoro is near me but it is on private property so can't get close to see nest. Have cam up so I can at least see the nest live. Hopefully, they will be successful this year
Megan - therefore the Coral must be ahead of the Dawn.....
OR the Dawn is there and the headline just not changed which would be unusual........it still says bound.Yesterday it changed as soon as it docked at Sitka
OK, now it says Anne's ship is docked off Juneau...was wondering how they were going to get those other ships out of there. Guess Anne will be on a teter
Will be interesting to see if the CORAL leaves the dock area for the DAWN to pull in..... BUT I have an errand that must be done today...
I have been taking pics from the 2 cams (Bridge & Port) at momentous times.. It is just a right click & save ... If anything exciting happens & someone gets a pic - please email me and I'll add it to the album I am making......thanx
Just got the mail- I got a postcard from Peggy's Cove Nova Scotia. That is sooooooooo funny. My aunt & uncle were there & I had kept watch often at the lighthouse and the cams at Halifax thinking I could spot them. Well, Maybe I did and just didn't know it....... lol
Hi, everyone! Been busy lately - haven't had time to check in. Just read yesterday and today's blog. Wish I had time to check-out all the websites you guys talk about. Suzanne - I wanted to tell you that I am also a TERP! I graduated in 1968 - what year for you? I don't follow sports - so won't be watching the WV/MD game - wouldn't know which one to root for anyway. It was 45 at my house this morning! A few of the trees up on this mountain where I work are already changing colors. I know that maple trees and a few others can change after a night of the low 40's, but I didn't think it had gotten that low up here yet, until maybe last night. Have any of you ever been to Pipestem Resort State Park in southern WV? I'm going there the first weekend of October with some friends from DC. There are 2 lodges there - one is in the Bluestone Canyon and you have to take an aerial tram down to it. It's the only way down there. That's where we will be staying. We're going to visit Tamarack - the center for juried WV arts and crafts and the New River Gorge Bridge on that Saturday. Then we are going to take a tour of The Bunker (the President's formerly secret cold-war hideaway) at The Greenbrier and have lunch at the Greenbrier on Sunday. It should be a fun weekend.
HELLO CAROL----I'll forgive you if you yell for the TERPS!!!----ho!!!-----HEY---You are going to have a GREAT time---I have been to PIPESTEM--but it was a long time ago----TAMARACK is a COOL place, but a little expensive----BUT CAROL!!!---I have stayed at the GREENBRIER---(but the bunkers weren't open then)---CAROL--When I die--I don't want to go to HEAVEN--I want to go to the GREENBRIER!!!-----ho!---THAT'S THE PLACE!!!!---ENJOY!!----
MITS & MEMA JO----If you all want to live like a QUEEN---Go to the GREENBRIER-----You are waited on--pampered, any thing you want they have----Probably will cost as much or maybe more than a trip to ALASKA!!!
Norma - I know about GREENBRIER from my daughter. She is able to take her family there BUT I have yet to go. Since all you've said about it - I think I'll start hinting around. They usually go in OCT.
HEY Norma, Joey and I are here for you. The bus just left Martinsburg with the WVU Fan club of EP on it.
Carol, Tamarack is great, especially if you can see some of the demos. I have been to the New River Gorge twice. If you get the chance to drive to the bottom and back up the other side it is beautiful down there. Will be great in October. I was there in Nov both times.
We are just thinking Squiggles might have h/s's exam today because it has been a week since the last time they attempted to figure out if it is a boy or girl
I noticed yesterday that the Panda development seems to have entered a new stage...Mai Yun is leaving baby alone more often (she might need to feed more now too) so that Squiggles can get more excercise scrunching around the den by itself.
Hi Jim You may not wish to miss the boat tomorrow! We are going to be cruising for a scenic view at the Glacier Bay Nat'l Park. We'll link you up wherever we are when you come on. It is scheduled 6am to 4pm AK time. Hope you join us!
Humming bird still coming by my flowers on the deck. He surprised me as I haven't seen him/her for a few days. Had just cut back my plant and new flowers are appearing. Guess he timed that just right
JUST CHECKING IN TO SAY HELLO TO ALL YOU EAGLE BUDDIE AND CRUISERS. I just finished reading the blogs and you have been very busy cruising. You all must be seeing some really beautiful sites. Will Anne-Marie still be cruising on Saturday?
Paula, there was only 1 pic of the eagle and the article...
Aaron and Holly loved the rafting also. They had mentioned the water being low. Did Amber get her CD yet from their trip down the river? They had sent Aaron/Holly the wrong raft-took a while to get the right CD

GOING TO SAY "GOOD MORNING" BEFORE I READ THE BLOG...already missed Suzanne for the day. Oh yeah, I did say "Hi" to her in the early hours...
Good morning, Eagle World... Have a happy.
Jim
LOL.....ME TOO....but you would fall in love with her.
Yes, Paula looks like hers
I've seen lots of small boats leaving the DAWN... Most of the tour buses have pulled out of the parking lot..
Hi Jim
keep missing the little boats
There fast...........
BBL .. Pray me for a safe journey!
HI JIM!---Too much night life for you!!!!------This retirement stuff must be agreeing with your!!!--ho!---You missed the ship!!!
Mits, I'm sure I would :)
BBL...
HI CAROL, beautiful area you are going to....have white-water rafted down the New River, pretty much thought I was going to die:):)
Mits - We are all too chicken to do any whitewater rafting!
Don't blame you, Carol. Just saw a video from my Grandson & wife who went down a few weeks ago - IF I say IF I were about 30 yrs younger!! lol
Your weekend should be beautiful...
Let us hear about it when you're back
HELLO CAROL----I'll forgive you if
you yell for the TERPS!!!----ho!!!-----HEY---You are going to have a GREAT time---I have been to PIPESTEM--but it was a long time ago----TAMARACK is a COOL place, but a little expensive----BUT CAROL!!!---I have stayed at the GREENBRIER---(but the bunkers weren't open then)---CAROL--When I die--I don't want to go to HEAVEN--I want to go to the GREENBRIER!!!-----ho!---THAT'S THE PLACE!!!!---ENJOY!!----
MITS I have safely returned. Thanx for that pic.... just where did you find it? Awesome.
MITS & MEMA JO----If you all want to live like a QUEEN---Go to the GREENBRIER-----You are waited on--pampered, any thing you want they have----Probably will cost as much or maybe more than a trip to ALASKA!!!
Terp here. :-)
Fear the turtle!
you know me, Jo, just a goggle fanatic.
Well, since I was born and raised and still live in the beautiful state of MARYLAND....guess I will cheer for the TERPS.
glad you are back safe and sound, Jo
Norma - I know about GREENBRIER from my daughter. She is able to take her family there BUT I have yet to go.
Since all you've said about it - I think I'll start hinting around. They usually go in OCT.
There is a clouded leophard on the NZ site now, being attented to by one of the trainors.
well, too late they are fast.
LISA---I know I am out numbered on the blog!!!----Not as many MOUNTAINEERS as TERPS!!--ho!--MITS too!!---I can only say----GOOOO
EEEEEEEEEERS!!!!!----
There's an osprey at the BW cam. Hubby thinks he saw one fly over house yesterday evening, of course I missed it.
Don't worry, Norma, I got your back, although I live in Md, and my Granny was a house mom at a sorority for years at U of MD, I always cheer for WV...
What a pretty osprey.....don't forget to check on Maine eagle cam, saw one at sunset last night.
BUTA BUTA is AWAKE
Pandas sure do know when to hide from cameras.......
lol...the chase is on.
MEGAN!!!----Think we might win---but injuries can change things fast!!!----We do have SLATON & WHITE----they are pretty COOL---WAY COOL!!!
JO!!---The "ATLANTA BEAUTY" needs a tree-----I bet she would fly up that tree!!!---TAI was in the tree earlier!!!!
WOW!!---There sure is an OPREY at BW!!!!
Hi, again, I'm in and out today.
Think I actually missed the boat yesterday, Norma...thanks.
I was thinking as I glimpsed the Bai Yun scene, isn't today for the baby's exam??
Jim
I think TAI is resting on his grate!!!!
NO JIM---I meant you missed ANNE-MARIE'S ship-----That's what we were all watching!!!----
Norma, Tai is resting in one of his misted dens outside:).
I knew he was in the rock den---Just called it on his GRATE!!!---SORRY!!---I GOOFED!!!
Meant to say "isn't today the day for the baby Panda's exam??"
Yes, Norma, that's what I meant too....missed the boat yesterday and this morning.
Did it negotiate its scheduled movements without me??
Jim
CAROL----Maybe we will get a bus & come with you & your friends!!!!---ho!-----That will be such a FUN TRIP!!----Do want details!!!
JIM---I checked the site---but didn't read anything about a check-up!!!-----
We are just thinking Squiggles might have h/s's exam today because it has been a week since the last time they attempted to figure out if it is a boy or girl
I noticed yesterday that the Panda development seems to have entered a new stage...Mai Yun is leaving baby alone more often (she might need to feed more now too) so that Squiggles can get more excercise scrunching around the den by itself.
Jim
You are correct, Jim.
Juneau: Bird-Watcher's Paradise
Birds of a feather
Link for an article... with a beautiful eagle's picture
Guess he timed that just right
Almost lunch time for Anne... i am looking at some of the restaurants and their menus..... Sooooo Good!
Jo - was just talking to Amber about the rafting trip. She said she loved it, although the river was low...
I'm a Mountie, but love the Terps, O's and Skins!
NOTMA I'll cheer for the Mountaineers if you cheer for the Tar Heels! :( Our PE teacher graduated from WVU.
Jo, there weren't any eagle pics in your last link...just an article.
SORRY NORMA!
Yes, Candy. I don't think she is due back until maybe Tuesday. I know it's not Monday.
I do believe this is Anne's boat. It just moved like the Dawn Princess pic moved.

Don't know why the lens looks all wet though.
Jill - You have mail.
Paula, there was only 1 pic of the eagle and the article...
Aaron and Holly loved the rafting also. They had mentioned the water being low. Did Amber get her CD yet from their trip down the river? They had sent Aaron/Holly the wrong raft-took a while to get the right CD
SC nest finally had a visit by Mom or Dad today.
Link for video is on page 3 of today's nest observation thread.
Did you see they published the exam of baby Panda today?? Guess which it is...
Jim
JIM Spill the beans. Don't keep everyone in suspense.
If you compare bridge cams of the princess Coral & Dawn....
I still think that the Dawn is out in the harbor and the Coral is at the dock......
