Thanks Steve, and good morning Wanda Suzanne and Mits. I never thought I would be so happy to see an MT nest, but it is beautiful to me this morning. have a blessed one, dear friends, and hello to Captain too.

MITS said...

Hello, Donna, have a good week:).

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Good morning everybody. Been watching for Liberty and Belle this morning but nobody yet. I will keep watching. You just never know when they might show up. I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Suzanne said...

Morning, Mits and Donna. You gals have a good week too.
Bai and Squiggles are FINALLY on cam. First time I've seen them all day.

Suzanne said...

Morning, Sharon. Wanda said they showed up last 2 mornings at 6:45, but didn't see them today. Have a good day.

glo said...

Good morning all. I feel the possible need for a new camera coming on so I can get some memorable photos for my upcoming trips and eagle season. My choice is currently a better TV or a better camera. I am going camera shopping. Lets see if they sell me something. Suzanne what did you get last year or so? I know you are thinking of maybe a new one but just wanted to know the goods and bad of what you have. Any other cam advice? Things to look at or stay away from....Thanks. Looking at $500 give or take a little. And I just might be taking your picture with it in a couple of weeks. :)

OK off for coffee and dog treats.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Blue skies!

MITS said...

Yep, Sharon, Blue skies...darn!

MITS said...

opps its back....

MITS said...

The moon is shing on the lovely Frieda.

Suzanne said...

Morning, Glo. I got a Canon PowerShot A530. I love it, but I want a bigger one now, with a large lens that I can really zoom on flying raptors! This is very nice, I carry it with me everywhere (it is in the car as we speak), but I'm ready for a bigger one now. This was not that expensive, think a little over $300, and it's very easy and convenient to use. But I'm thinking I want a bigger one before the open house, just in case Lib and Belle are hanging around. Haven't made up my mind yet.

Mema Jo said...

Good Monday Morning To You

Seems like our Eagle Couple may have gotten stuck in traffic last night as they didn't show and guess they just had to sleep in later then usual!

Beautiful autumn weather we have out there today! My coffee is ready!

MT nest for now - but with you Eagle Buddies all in attendance it makes it worthwhile putting up this daily right after your feet hit the floor in the morning!

floralgirl said...

Hello everybody:) Is it Friday yet??? I haven't seen any hummers in my garden since Saturday:((

MITS said...

HELLO....MEAGAN AND JO:).

MITS said...

The lovely Frieda is sound asleep.

normabyrd said...

NZ PANDAS are "hanging out"!!---I think the "LITTLE PRINCE" is getting "misted"----(correct me HELEN)----Think that is one of the parents lying across a log!!--They are certainly handsome animal!!---

normabyrd said...

HELLO PAULA-----How did the GOLF lesson go????----

MITS said...

Yes, Normabyrd, you are correct....that is Mei Xiang snoozing over the log

Suzanne said...

Morning, Jo, Megan, Norma and Paula. No sightings today so far. Maybe they'll come visit the nest this evening.

normabyrd said...

JO---MEGAN asked if it was FRIDAY yet----Told her 4 more days!!!--

Mema Jo said...

Norwegian Jewell - Iris' Ship

Looks as though the bus is waiting on the dock - but I have no clue which dock. Capt sure parked it in there nice and snug - I wouldn't want to drive that size ship.

Mema Jo said...

Be sure to click on the left side for the JEWELL. Hurry up because the bus is leaving soon

floralgirl said...

Yep, just give me a minute, Jo. I went to Wash. monument in Boonsbore yesterday for a couple of hours, saw lots of hawks, an osprey and we believe 1 immature eagle. The cool thing is if you go this time of the year, there is almost always someone up there doing a hawk migration count, and they know the hawks by sight, so you know exactly what you are looking at. Great way to learn the different hawks. Like having your own personal guide for free, they are usually friendly and willing to share their knowledge.

MITS said...

Anything could happen in the next 4 days:)

normabyrd said...

Yesterday as I was driving down the drive way----This "ADORABLE" little SQUIRREL, just stood up in the middle of the road & stared me down---Then one more look & the little "squirt" slowly scampered off the road!!!---- (it takes so little to make me happy)---ho!!!

floralgirl said...

Hey Jo, apples and pumpkins

normabyrd said...

HELEN---YEP!---something could easily happen--within 4 days---to make you a HAPPY CAMPER!!---I still have my water pot out!!--ho!

Suzanne said...

Norma, it took hours this morning for Bai and Squiggles to come on cam. Don't know where they were sleeping, but it wasn't in the birthing den! Bai is there now, think Squiggles may be under her left paw, but that den looks different to me.

Suzanne said...

Squiggles alone and they're zoomed in.

Suzanne said...

Never mind, Bai now nursing Squiggles.

MITS said...

Can't tell, Suzanne if it is different....someone on the blog asked yesterday if the lights would be brighter, now that her eyes are opening, I watched when Su Lin was this age, and I don't remember the lights getting any brighter in that particular den.

MITS said...

pandas in Atlanta are sleeping outside, bunk-bed style

Mema Jo said...

Thanks for the link Megan - bookmarked it this time!
Hope Robyn comes soon to pick those apples and make our pies!!!

I love Robyn's red rose pic. Jennifer came over yesterday to give me flowers from her gardens.. She had the yellow roses for me! Norma It's the simple things that count like flowers & squirrels! Made my day!

normabyrd said...

Yesterday----I read several articles about the HAWK/EAGLE v. CAT/DOG discussion!!----CAROL is correct!!---Nothing is BLACK OR WHITE----Each article or person gives a different opinion!!!---Depends how hungry the hawk/eagle is---How big the cat/dog is, etc.--Hawk/eagle can only lift a certain weight cat/dog----Most agree the GOLDEN EAGLE will swoop up several kinds of small animals----I GOOGLED & THERE IS LOTS OF INFO THERE!!!

Costume Lady said...

NORMA--Speaking of the Golden eagle, I saw a video of a hunter using a Golden eagle to hunt and bring down a deer for him. Amazing.

normabyrd said...

HEY KIDS!!----Isn't our "LADY IN THE RED DRESS" just BEAUTIFUL!!!---I so enjoyed her photos of ALASKA!!!!----LOVED the EAGLE on her arm!!!!----SHE'S COOL!!!!!

glo said...

Well from what I can tell Iris is docked at Corfu. Next stop in the morning for her will be Katakolon, and hten on to Athens. I am off to the camera shops...well ya know Best Buy etc.

Costume Lady said...

Suzanne said...

MITS said...

yes, Norma, she is lovely:).

normabyrd said...

HELEN---That is par for the course----BUTA BUTA & LUN LUN are always asleep---& continue to sleep most of the day!!!!----I read this a.m. that MEI gets her "goofiness's from DAD--YANG YANG----Her latest trick is to jump up & take a "bite of LUN LUN'S butt"---hangs on until LUN LUN gets away & take out after her---LITTLE BEAUTY loves that part!!!----Appears they have changed the logs some---60 lbs. now!!

Mema Jo said...

NORMA - I wonder what time of the day ButaButa does all that - WE would be certain to tune in!

normabyrd said...

I scanned yesterday's blog---noticed NILLA referred to the OWLS were doing well-----Do you know where she was referring to seeing them????

Mema Jo said...

She was all over the place - I had just checked out the WildWatchCams and saw MS OWL still staying at the Owl Motel. I don't know of any others.

MITS said...

Oh dear, seem to be some vultures snacking on a carcass on WAVE-LIT AFRICAM.....YUCK.

normabyrd said...

JO---I read that BUTA does that any time she can find LUN LUN roaming around, eating, etc.---She seems to hold on as long as she can!----She's a LITTLE IMP!--- But I swear we rarely see her awake!!!

MITS said...

tour group taking pic of vultures and carcass

MITS said...

tour group has left.

normabyrd said...

HELEN----Just read your remark about the vultures eating on WAVE-IT AFRICAM!!!!-----When I was a "TEENAGER" (many moons ago)---We had a saying-----"DON'T KNOCK IT--IF YOU HAVEN'T TRIED IT"!!!!---(don't "whack" me too hard--i'm old)

HI JILL-----Did you know that "CRICKETS" bring GOOD LUCK????----I never kill them-----If they are in the middle of the floor, etc.----I will sweep them outside!!!---My kids used to have these brass "cricket boxes"---Don't think they ever left the crickets in them---ho!

MITS said...

funny how after they leave all the fish come out of hiding.

Suzanne said...

LOL, yeah, Mits. There is still one down there, saw him a sec ago, but he might have been on his way out.
Norma, I catch crickets if they're in the house, and put them outside. Do you know they eat wool? They'll tear up a wool sweater in no time!

GOOD MORNING, EVERYBODY. It looks like a beautiful week ahead.

Before I get my coffee, good morning, Suzanne. I wanted to mention that I didn't see "Squiggles" in the den last night, but I had already shut the blog down and wanted to go to bed.

First, Bai started sleeping outside ... I thought to give Squiggles more room. Now Squiggles is outside.

I just had a flash...maybe that's the way Panda's lure the baby out of the den... her eyes and ears are probably opening and getting ready to experience the world.

Jim

Suzanne said...

Morning, Jim. Yes, they were both out of the den this morning, and stayed out for about the first 3 or 4 hours I was logged on. Missed the little tyke! She's been in the den sleeping for quite a while now, all alone.

movin said...

Has anyone seen any new eyasses in Brisbane?

Jim

normabyrd said...

MITS---I never get to see the divers!!!------Is there any particular time better chance to see them?---

movin said...

Bai Yun has re-entered the den. I don't see Squiggles, but she can't be far behind.

Could be feeding time for the baby girl.

Jim

normabyrd said...

Is that SQUIGGLES on the straw, peering out at something?---Looks too large for her---but not large enough to be BAI----

Jill said...

Thanks Megan, I will look it up later. Too tired to care right now. LOL

normabyrd said...

BUTA BUTA is on the floor playing with a PURPLE BALL---She is certainly enjoying rolling & chewing it at the same time---LUN LUN is now lounging in the hammock with her BAMBOO!----JO still think BUTA BUTA needs a tree to climb!!!

glo said...

OK MeMa Jo Its a Sony DSC-H9 Has a 15 zoom on it ...which is pretty much the max I can find out there unless I go to SLR cam at which point I am looking at like more than $1000 and have to carry along all kinds of lenses to get anything Zoomed in nice. Think I will do fine with it but I have been home now over an hour and its still in the box as i've been reading online info etc. So Now tis time to open the box and start charging up a battery LOL. And it has a 3 inch LCD monitor which is great size for like aging eyes and image stabilization ya know for when you are excited and just snap fast like when an eagle just showed up over there LOL and can actually take rapid pictures etc etc. OK off to learn more about how I just spent my money LOL.

Robyn said...

Afternoon everyone

Jo, thank you my roses were beautiful this year.

Just now on frodo cam I saw something small and white well it looked kinda grayish in the dimness could it be? Nah maybe not

I sould be heading out to get apples second week of Oct to bake my pies.

I'm going to look at the frodo pic I took and enlarge it to see if it was a fuzzball.

wvgal_dana said...

Ok ladies I just took a Motrin. Going to lay down so it takes effect. No where as bad as what happened to Candy. I got up from table reading newspaper. Step one way lost my balance and stumbled trying to keep from falling. Across the kitchen into the stove. So I can only say the body going every which way has left me all stubbed up. I was going to say "stoved up" LOL catch you later wink

normabyrd said...

OK DANA----I guess they are discussing the birth of MIT'S grand child---& I talking about SQUIGGLES!!!----ho! SORRY---I guess I do need to eat lunch--DANA!!

paula eagleholic said...

Sounds like a good choice, Glo. Mine has 12x zoom.

paula eagleholic said...

Take care Dana.

paula eagleholic said...

Robyn - don't know how you saw anything down under. I was just thinking it is always darkest before the dawn!

paula eagleholic said...

Robyn are you talking about right under her chin?

MITS said...

That's what I saw Paula....yes, I try to keep up with the program....

MITS said...

it really does look like a broken egg shell

Robyn said...

I sent the pic to momsters maybe someone else can see what it is...

MITS said...

I don't see a fuzzy though.

MITS said...

looks like a broken shell to me, in less then an hour it will be lighter.

Robyn said...

The light from the moon or whatever it is may be playing tricks on the eyes

paula eagleholic said...

Well, it is lighter than all the surrounding pebbles at this point.

MITS said...

I think the moon has passed by, because it was lighter several hours ago,

MITS said...

Maybe it is just wishful thinking, Robyn....it will be daylight soon, 4:45a.m. there.

Robyn said...

Soon then, hopefully I will be home before they hatch if one didn't already.

MITS said...

that is a cracked egg, I'm pretty sure.

Robyn said...

That does look like it could be a shell the way it looks to have a curve to it, looks like a vague indentation. Yes, wishful thinking.

Robyn said...

I hope mits!

Robyn said...

BRB heading out to get T from the bus and bringing her home for a little while to see her kitties. Hopefully I wont miss anything

MITS said...

Now the question is.....was it a viable egg?

movin said...

Before coming back to the blog, I also noticed what looks like a piece of egg shell. AND Frieda has her throat feathers spread wider than usual, so I think she has a new chick up front there under those feathers.

Jim

MITS said...

more egg shell showing.

Mema Jo said...

I think your right, Jim. Great spotting - Robyn! Won't know until she moves but it certainly WOW LOOK DOWN UNDER NOW
THINGS ARE HAPPENING!!

movin said...

Now you can see both pieces of an egg shell in front of Frieda.

Jim

Mema Jo said...

I sure hope that John and Greg are up & about "Down Under" and see all this going on.
Hurry up Robyn - get Tori and get in the house......

Robyn said...

I'm back

paula eagleholic said...

Well i would say we have eggshell!!

Robyn said...

Do we have a fuzzball????

movin said...

Bai Yun just returned to the den, perhaps to feed the baby.

Jim

glo said...

Thanks Paula I surely hope its a good choice. I like having 14 days to play. Of course if I decide no on this one it doesn't give me much time to learn a new one before heading off to NCTC.. Got the battery a charging now.

Watching what I really think is MaMa Freida and waiting for that daylight pretty pink .

Mema Jo said...

Hey, Little eyass!
Come out, Come out from under your mom's chin

Frieda is looking under like,
"I can see you"

Mema Jo said...

WB Robyn - sure looks like we have one but nothing visible yet except the cracked half egg shells

Robyn said...

Could we have 2 seperate eggs shells?

movin said...

They don't have anything published on the site. Is anyone in contact with them?

Jim

paula eagleholic said...

We could, Robyn. They will hatch very close together.

paula eagleholic said...

Oh YAY! Them are shells!

Robyn said...

The 10 sec cam is color whereas the 30 is b&w

Robyn said...

nevermind both the same

Robyn said...

Now all she needs to do is get up and we can see them. I am so excited

Robyn said...

looks like she is moving the shells

paula eagleholic said...

Jim - I just emailed them and sent a couple of pics.

Mema Jo said...

My question also, Jim! Mits may have sent the pic... Their site will probably update this evening our time. I just hope a lot of viewers are on and not missing this.

paula eagleholic said...

Ooooh Frodo! We need a pigeon!

Mema Jo said...

lol I was just calling out

FRODO, BIG DADDY!

BRING YOUR LITTLE LADY A FEAST!

MITS said...

Doubt if those guys are into work yet, only 6:00a.m. there.

Robyn said...

Ok take pics if you see them please, I am going to run to basement turn on desktop and get some laundry done while I await the debut :)

paula eagleholic said...

Guess they'll have lots of emails to open this morning at work!

paula eagleholic said...

Argghh!! Half a pic!!

Mema Jo said...

I wonder if Frodo is sitting over there where she keeps looking?

MITS said...

glo said...

Yes Robyn she has one hatch and two eggs. Not sure where everyone went though thought maybe they were all in the basement helping you with the laundry

movin said...

Another thing I wanted to tell you about last night...

I looked in on Afrocam before bedtime, and there was a large, dead Cape Buffalo being consumed by a couple of dozen large vultures.

I couldn't see the whole Buffalo, but it didn't appear to have been killed by lions... maybe just dropped from old age.

Jim

glo said...

A new baby falcon

Mema Jo said...

How about that! Not too fluffy yet! But they will develop and have first flight before you know it!

NillaWafer said...
