Now all I gotta do is wait till after frost, and I can get started outdoors.
Ya know, if they tilt the cam more, we won't be able to see the launch pad by the tree. The one Spunky used to hide by. Maybe a wider angle? Can they do that?
I just went over to read the previous thread - had to find out if there was anything going on to have Mits up so early. 5 cups of coffee will wire ya
My cat got me out of my nice warm comfy bed with a blood curtailing meow! All she wanted was to go out on the deck - hubby had been up earlier & fed them. I should have named her Puddles - she loves the water! The big old tom, Scar doesn't even like to step on a rain soaked rug!

GREAT NEWS for a MOOREFIELD EAGLE!!!---heard on NPR & in paper this a.m.----"A bald eagle found more than a year ago with a head wound & other injuries will be set free on Fri. The Wildlife Center of VA plans to release the bird at the South Branch Wildlife Management Area north of Moorefield. The adult male bald eagle was found along an area railroad in May, 2006 with a large wound on the top of its head & other injuries to its back & leg. Officials suspect he may have been injured in a fight with another bald eagle. Bird taken to DNR Wildlife Center's clinic in Waynesboro, VA where it was nursed back to health."-------Moorefield (HARDY CO.) adjoins my county (HAMPSHIRE) & (GRANT) county on the other side!!---JILL'S home county------
Cool, Wanda. Now I see how to set some up inside, if I feel really brave. Think the cats would probably love that! But that's beautiful, and Dustin looks like he's enjoying his newly hatched butterfly! Thanks!
Well, guess what? Bai FINALLY brought Squiggles in the den to nurse. She brought her in, then gave her a hug, now she's getting ready to nurse. That was adorable. But my first glimpse of the little one today, sure glad to see her!
SQUIGGLES is getting twisted every which way----Even upside down (little black legs were kicking fast & furious)----BAI sometimes treats the "LOVE BUG" as if she is a RAG DOLL!!---Soon she is going to WIGGLE & SQUIGGLE away from MAMA!!--She is a BEAUTY!!!
Norma, I've been watching them too. She sure is just twisting Squiggles every which way! But she's so gentle, that just amazes me. Those big paws, and so so gentle. Have Lib and Belle over Bai and Squiggles so don't miss anything.
MAULEY--I was thinking of you last night. Don't think we have heard from you in a while. Of course we will pray for your precious one. Let us know how he is doing as you find out. I have been sending your email to your hubby cause I can't seem to get it to you. Give it to me once more and I will try something else to get it right.
Oops, just read my last post. That's REALLY rolling... was typing way too fast, and my fingers are frozen! Not working well in this -20° in this office!
Too many shadows on BUTA BUTA & LUN LUN---Bamboo everywhere!!---I read that the "ATLANTA BEAUTY" doesn't eat much of bamboo at all---She eats a few leaf biscuits--fruit & MILK---MILK is her staple food, she nurses during the day & they think at night too!!!!
I remember that TAI nursed for quite a while---But I thought at the time---that was unusual---Thanks for the info!!!-----I have been watching the sea otters---They are adorable---but discovered they aren't living as long as they should!!!!---
NORMA--You have to be careful of those Hikes. We went to the mountains last Saturday (a family member had 2 acres of land for sale at 10,000.00 which is a steal, and while walking on the nearby trail, I came upon a big, fresh pile of BEAR scat. I decided I didn't want that property. My Mother wanted to stay until she could see the Bear. I would do ANYTHING her, but not that. We left.

Norma, Sheba has always been top cat, since the second I brought her home from the shelter! At the time I only had Pharaoh, and brought Sheba home, she hissed at him, he didn't care, and she took over from there. When I brought Gypsy in the house, (she was a stray), I still had the 2, Pharaoh and Sheba. But took Gypsy to the vet before I let her meet the others, and shots and everything, and he told me no shots, she was pregnant! So she had 5 babies, 3 of which I still have. Gave 2 away, one to a friend, and one to my sister. Pharaoh was a good surrogate mother for Gypsy, but after the kittens grew, he didn't get along all that well with her, and she knew her place. Now that he is no longer there, she is coming out and about more...read...on my lap CONSTANTLY! Or at least as much as she can between a couple of her kids and Sheba. But everyone seems to get along ok, not great, but ok. Don't think Gyps has the personality to be an alpha. LOL, thanks, Norma. I thought about writing a book when the kittens were born, how they were born, then their first year or so. Got busy and never had time. Maybe one of these days. Gypsy loves you too, I always give her extra pets now and tell her they're "from Norma."

Not to change the subject, but Jo and Norma, what do you think they mean about learning the fate of Meerkat Manor on the 28th? They've been saying that for the last 2 weeks, and I'm hoping they're not taking it off the air! I'm wondering if the clash of the klans, which seems inevitable between Flower's group and the other group, if something happens to Flower and her gang, and they're gonna take it off the air. You guys have any ideas?
Mits, I'll be you are on the ceiling! 5 cups of java will do that to ya! Guess a nap is outta the question...
Thanks, Norma. Want to get home and open my windows! Then the race is on to see who is gonna get the window seats first. Too funny. Beautiful Bai is outside chomping down on bamboo. Beautiful mom!
Wanda, where's the bear, I will take you mother back to see it.
NORMA-When we would have family visit from DL, being bored GC teens we would take them up to Dolly Sods about dark and sit in the vehicle all lights off and wait til we heard trash cans rattle, then turn the lights on so our cuz could see a real bear. Remember we were in a car or truck but several were so scared they tried to jump out. HELLO, the bear is out there. HE HE.
Time for me to hit the road. All have a great weekend! Blog at ya Monday. Take lots of pics of our precious Liberty and Belle. Squiggles too, little roly poly cub now. Eyes to the sky, see the raptors fly!

Norma plenty of bear running around Dolly Sods/Seneca Rocks/Spruce Knob area. These knew when it got dark the people were gone and the trast cans were full. All you can eat buffet for them. Course we didn't bother to tell my cousins why we were there. They thought it was to enjoy the view of the moon and stars.
I never really followed college ball till I moved to WV and it took a few years after that. My dad use to be big on watching college ball. I do find it more interesting then pro ball

Hi, everyone. Fall is in the air up on this mountain where I am. It's 58 degrees, with a brisk breeze blowing. I read the entries about bears and had to let you all know that bear hunting is a really big thing in Pendleton County. 121 bears were checked in by hunters last bear season. I have mixed feelings about bear hunting - but have decided that we'd probably get over-run by them if they weren't hunted. One of my objections to the hunting is the way it is done. These big macho bear hunters send their radio-collared dogs out into the woods and then they sit in their pick-ups along the road with antennas sticking out of their window, tracking the dogs. I always feel like giving them the finger when I pass them sitting there, but figure I might get shot if I do!
Norma, Dana is down here. Hedgesville Tennis Coach. His son Dustin is the starting quarterback for Martinsburg. Truth be known he is probably a grandfather too. His first wife was a real treat and the oldest daughter is just like her. I see Dustin and the middles sister quite a bit. They all 3 went to the same baby sitter as Joey. Dustin fell when he was small and knocked out his front teeth. I had never seen him with front teeth because they left the babysitters. Til Joey's senior year he came up to me and started talking. Had no clue who he was because he had front teeth. He hangs out down the street with one of Zach's friends. And as I type this and look out the window there he is. Looks a lot like the Peters"
You might be interested, I got an e-mail from John, the editor in Brisbane, saying my comment about the missing chick had been published...this time in the paper and not on the blog.
I see Jim's comment showing up online in the comment section of the online paper...you just have to scroll down to the very bottom of the page of the missing chick story.

HE HE.
Watch the news later, MITS will be seen running through the streets of Bethesda trying to wear off the caffeine. LOL

Ok thanks Norma my friend mentioned today if WVU wins tonight they will be #1 in the Big East

Good Lord, that doesn't seem fair, Carol.....Hello, Normabryd....no news yet. Daughter-in-laws last day at work
Did you see the Eeuuuwies at BW?
Jim

I hear the eagles up in MAINE, AND THE LOONS, AND A MAN TALKING.
Norma, the flamingos are running around chasing each other on the zoo cam
Have any of you read anything about why the baby Panda's exam has been delayed?
Or are they not doing them weekly now?
Jim
Jim, if the cub seems to being doing well, they eventually cut back on their exams, they may just be busy and do it a day late or every other week.
