GOOD MORNING JIM-- It is a beautiful morning here in Eastern Panhandle of WV. I just heard on the news that there have been heavy rains and mudslides in Southern California. Has it affected your area?
There are no visitors in our nest at this time. BW has a defective picture and Squiggles is alone and sleeping. Time to get ready for church. Remember: When you do what you can, God will do what you can't. HAVE A BLESSED SUNDAY
Wanda, I did find mention of a mudslide caused by a cloudburst in L.A. ... near Griffith Park. And there were a few flash flood reports locally.
So Cal is semi-desert (except the mountain areas), and when we finally get rain, a large part of it runs off quickly, which means flash floods and slides often times.
It was a good soaking rain around here, but nothing dangerous. We can use a lot more...I think we only got maybe 3-4 inches all of last season.
Good morning Paula, Mits and Jim! Great day out there waiting for you! I have been in my emails - Candy and Glo have sent pictures for the album from this morning's early visit. Anne has sent me a few of her pictures and I must publish them - she had some very awesome sights!WOW
I am still battling the STINK BUGS this morning. Little varmits!
I don't see any late night comments concerning any white fluff sighted under Frieda. She still looks restless - Midnight down under. Best keep an eye on her. Squiggles is in Bai's arms and is nursing. Memphis zoo Panda eating, DC Pandas are napping. Sea Otters not on cam in DC but Monterey Bay ones are swimming all around
Well, Paula, we can't go too long with so little rain, but this time the year before was wet, and the reservoirs were full. Getting low now though, so we need more rain for sure.
Also, we have aqueducts from No Cal, which is generally more rainy.
10 in./year is the dividing line between desert and semi-arid, which makes us into the "way dry" range for last season. This storm was unusual for Sept, and I hope it continues this season. El NiƱo years are usually the wettest here by far, but this isn't going to be one of them from what I've read.
Oh yeah, I forgot the Colorado River, which we draw a lot of water from. Some of the other States demanded and got a bigger share of that river water some years ago... AZ for instance.
I saw a TV thing several years ago, which showed the Colorado being so drained that it doesn't actually flow into the Sea of Cortez anymore. Plus it's much higher in salt content by the time it gets to its southern stream.
Good Beautiful Sunday morning Folks, Well just got finished reading all of yesterdays comments especially the stink bugs... You have not seen stink bugs til you live in Florida they are so big and actually take aim at you..lol No kidding...Much bigger than here..So far i dont have any to pester me.. Welcome home Anne we so enjoyed cruiseing along with your ship and seeing your ports you visited.. I told ya Mits the full moon is the 26th... Hi Nilla...... Beautiful day for sighting special eagles! I'm going to try and get the fall decorations (scarecrows-mums-harvest sign) put up todday - with some help. But I think I have to entice them with an invite to the grill..... lol Jenny stopped by with some of the last of her flowers for me from her yard. She still has her yellow roses blooming.
Hey there Jill! You still going strong. I hope you got a decent dinner last night! Can't work on an empty stomach - Well I mean that sometimes an empty stomach makes you grumpy... lol Take care, Gal!
Do you think that when Squiggles' eyes are all the way open that they will allow more light in the den? Sometimes I really can't find her..and never know if Bai has taken her out of the den or she is just hiding in the dark.......
Poor Tian he went towards Mei and she gave him that look and he mozied off the other direction only to go stick his butt up on the wall and scent mark...lol Poor baby wants to play and she is having no part of him...lol Maybe they are both waiting on a snack...
Hey Jo-finally got food, Chinese. Was good but not much time to enjoy it. Was pretty much non stop from 6-12. Then started again at 2 but wasn't as many at then. Just woke up, so I guess things quieted down around 3. Or got really serious which doesn't involve me. LOL
Sounds like a plan Jill... Jo you take it easy and dont over due.. I agree Jo hope they get more light in there .. Jo i checked Iris ship and its showing its out at sea? and not docked?
Jill i think it got serious because BCS was going up and down Winchester Avenue with lights n sireins on about that time of course bars were closing to.. Some times they go so fast have actually throwed stones up and hit my front windows .. no kidding.. Need to check ERJ to see whoes in there..lol
Mits remember how at the webcam at the Connecticut site after the osprey left "Oscar as I called him" would always visit there. Did you see the video of the seagull walking into the convience store and taking that same bag of snacks. I THINK THAT IS OSCAR LOL
Yup snack time for Mei n Tian.. Some kind of enrichment toy looks like fun to watch them with those... Jill checked the pokie and didnt see any from City?? what you have your own pokie your keeping them in???lol
HAHAHA was he at the track and won before getting stopped Jill?? lol Okie thanks i will call ya... Hey yesterday i had lunch down at the Cheasapeake Seafood on Winchester Avenue... Was really good and the owner was bringing bushels of live crabs... He gave me some to take home.. Talk about good crabs and large to!!! We should have lunch there Jill..
Hey Jill the owner of the Seafood place is looking for someone to run the Hawaiian Shaved Ice stand.. But we told him to change it to Snow Ball Stand and move it out alittle.. might be agreat endeavor for someone interested in making some money in the spring &summer...
Oh boy i just relized i might be behind the times on reporting the SDZ news..lol i didnt read past messages... Any ways better late than never...Squiggles is alone...As fat as she looks i bet she is 5 lbs now..
Nilla - I see the Norwegian Jewell out at sea traveling to somewhere..I think that Iris was to be home on the 26th... I just never could find her itinerary like I did Anne's.
Couldn't resist setting up the pics Anne has sent me.... I know she is getting them all together to present to us BUT just wanted you to see some of them also as I have ....
Yes Jo i see that also now wouldnt you think Iris could get up there at the front of ship and wave..lol I am going to tell her that when she gets home...lol

The nest looks strange this time of day like a big stumble of sticks on a pile and the leaves kind of glow... LOL or have i been playing alone way to long Jill???lol
HI ROBYN-- I looked up the Stink Bugs that you were looking at and you are right; they are the one's trying to get in the house. The one's I was looking at on here are the ones we have in our garden. I thought they were the same but they are a little different. Must belong to the same family.
Hey Wanda didnt mean our nest is strange just the way the sun light is hitting it...lol Yup i do need anap didnt sleep good last night...I dont know if Golden Eagle is bigger.. need to check that info... Go check out Annes pictures on Momsters Jo added they are beautiful...
It looks strange Wanda, not it is strange. LOL. Looks like somebody left something in it or maybe a leave fell into it. I don't know. Maybe by the weekend I will have enough sleep to function. And tomorrow is Joeys early day, I may have to stop at your house to get coffee just to make it home. LOL

Plumage almost entirely dark brown White bases to outer secondaries and inner primaries produces oval, white patch White tail with broad, crisp, dark terminal band Subadult: Plumage gradually darkens to resemble that of adult, with white in wings disappearing Similar species: Turkey Vulture has a tiny, unfeathered head, holds its wings in a dihedral and has contrastingly paler flight feathers while Black Vulture has white outer primaries and quite different, snappy wingbeats. Immature Bald Eagles are similar (very large and dark overall) but differ in fundemental aspects of shape. Golden Eagles are smaller-headed, smaller-billed and somewhat slimmer-winged than Bald Eagles and fly with wings held in a dihedral. Immature Bald Eagles always have patchy white underwings and (occasionally) bellies. Golden Eagles have crisp white patches restricted to the inner primaries and base of tail. At great heights, dark morph buteos can be similar but are always shorter-winged with more diffuse white areas on underwings and different tail patterns.
If I may say something about Wikipedia, do not take everything you read in there as the truth. Wiki is written by people on the internet and some of the info isn't acurate. I can go in there right now and make up a word with an outrageous definition and some people would not know if it was true or false.
In school some of our instructors will not permit us to use wiki for that reason alone.
You did good, Nilla Hello to Jill, Robyn and Wanda.... Visitors have left & now family member are gathering around the grill for dinner. Busy day and I love it! Will be back later & am fearful I will miss tonight's visit -BUT we have so many more visits to come. BTW Nest is looking strange in the autumn light! lol
Jill wont be able to get to the nest tonight daughter called and need to go pick up Rosa grandaughter at my exhusbands house and take her home and stop by store for few things...
Great Jo enjoy your family time.. And thats what Jill and i been saying the nest has taken on a erie glow in the sunlight... If i dont turn on comp at home take lots of pictures when they show up...

Have a wonderful Sunday evening folks... Hope Lib n Belle show up.. 47 yarder and Skins up 17 - 3 NYG... HAIL TO THE REDSKINS...
Good evening...Switch down under I think. Got a good look at the eggs. Still 3 no little fluff balls yet, but they must be making some noise by the way Freida was acting last night anyway.
Good evening Jo, Paula, Nilla, Robyn, Jill and Glo. JO glad to hear you had a nice day with family visiting. NILLA, I'm with you. GOO REDSKINS! PAULA Good luck with your golf swing. I too only play putt, putt. I wouldn't even be able to see where to hit the ball in regular golf. JILL sorry your wierdos are keeping youo soooo busy. After the full moon, things should calm down a little. GLO I guess you are still cruising with Iris. Have you heard anything from her on her trip? STINK BUGS and CRICKETS You can all keep them up there in your territory. PLEASE don't send any down here. We get an occasional humungous big black/brown "roach type" bug out of the woods in our house that drives me crazy. Sometimes I see them crawling up the side of the house and pick up something outside and there will be one looking at you. I hage BUGS!
Bai is awake and moving. She is giving Squiggles a little play time, moving her all over. It sure would be nice if they had a little light in there so you could really see what is happening. Bai just lift Squiggles at the entrance and back and gone again. Squiggles is just laying right in front of the entrance.
Eww Candy, wood roaches. They live in decaying wood and leaves outside and need dampness. When I bought my home we saw one in the basement, called the exterminator and was seriously thinking of selling over it lol. The exterminator told us what they were and said they die with a day or two once they find their way inside as they need the decaying wood and leaves to survive. Another trade off living in the woods I guess.
WOW ANNE-MARIE You put that new camera to good use. Your pics are just beautiful. I would have loved to have had that eagle come sit on my hand. The scenery was beautiful. Thanks so much for sharing with us, and thank you Jo for putting them on the album for us to be able to see.
ROBYN The first time I saw them was under a pile of lumber that was on the ground when our house was built. I just went ballistic. I HATE BUGS. I have now gotten used to them here and there, but still don't like them very much. I remember the first year we moved in, we had a problem with giant black crickets too. They haven't bothered us since.
Candy her test is wednesday morning, she is a tad upset with taking it knowing if she passes her class schedule will change and she said she likes her schedule as it is. More adjustments she must get use to if she does pass.
She and I are quite sad today as we really miss one another and I feel so lonely here without her. A part of me wants her home NOW but we need to follow the doctors orders for 1 more month. Guess you can say today is my day for tearjerkers on TV while I finsh my report.
You and Tory will be in my prayers. Sorry that today is your sad day. At least you only have one month left and she'll be home for Thanksgiving and Christmas and the rest of your lives. You two have been through so much already, that one more month will pass quickly and you can get back to being a family again.
ROBYN Crickets are supposed to be a sign of good luck, but they will eat things in the home. I like the cricket I have. It is black heavy iron and is for taking boots off. ;)
MITS I am with you, but the closest I get is with a broom, and I bash them a good one. I just don't want them jumping on me. But so far, after the first couple of years, we haven't been bothered by anymore.
Bai left Squiggles again and now she left her in her doorway to her den in the light. Maybe she ccan keep an eye on her there. That Squiggles is such a bundle of love. Bai is back. Both are laying side by side in the opening now
Hello again CANDY I just got through looking at ANNE-MARIE'S Pictures. She is lovely and her pics are spectacular. I was disappointed when I came to the last pic. I wanted to see more!
Crickets have suddenly got bad here. One jumped on my leg as I was leaving work last night. Not a very smart idea on his part. He joined Mits' crickets whereever they are. LOL
Thanks Candy. But by the time the full moon is gone I will be off work. IS IT WEDNESDAY YET??????????
Hi WANDA! Aren't Anne-Marie's pics just beautiful and she tricked us with the one of her holding the eagle, the stinker. I can't wait to see the rest. She was one lucky lady to cruise to Alaska.
Mits I have always said I wanted to come back as an eagle, I always saw them as signfying freedom and I love my freedom :).
Candy me, Tori, my friend and her daughter (tori's friend) will spend thanksgiving at Massanutten in my timeshare. We have been going there since 95 and only missed 2 years, last year and when her dad and I were divorcing. It is our special place, now they have a HUGE indoor/outdoor waterpark on site.
ROBYN My friend from Richmond that lives down on the Banks most of the time now, goes there in February or March every year. Keep asking me to come up, but I can't take off school, as I take off for March 6 or around that to go to Josh's for his birthday. I think that I would rather go when you go over Thanksgiving. It would be a beautiful time of year. Are the colors still on the leaves yet there?
Candy it is really pretty there, we have our main time in Willimsburg Va July 4th week, but since Massanutten is 90 minutes away we're there. 2 years ago they were making snow hopefully it will be cold enough for more snow and we can go tubing :)
I was looking at Wave-lit Africam, Candy, that is different from Pete's' Pond...I don't think Pete's is a live feed, should be in the middle of the night there
SHARON Yes it is on March 6. He was born in 1976 and was a bi centennial baby. He was also born on my mother-in-laws birthday. ;( AND an elderly friend's, Josh's "Adopted" grandmothers birthday. :) She is such a nice person and been very good to him. Couldn't have children of her own, so she has befriended a few children here on the Banks. She even asked my parents when they were still alive and living down here if they minded. Of course they didn't; they fell in love with her too.
There goes the mosquito truck spraying the air. Maybe that is why I haven't seen any stink bugs; they are still spraying here. With all the surrounding water, they have to.
Well, I guess Liberty and Belle are a no show and eggs aren't cracking yet. I have school tomorrow. Guess I had better follow MITS and close out for the night. You all have a peaceful and good night's sleep for the first night in Fall. Tomorrow is a new day.
Love your flower ROBYN.
Good morning SUZANNE, just in case I don't wake up early enough to get on before school. You have a nice day. Watch our nest, and of course, Bai and Squiggles, and Frieda and Frodo. Thanks
Whoops! I was unable to return this evening to chat..Sorry our Eagle couple disappointed everyone by not visiting the nest. Tomorrow morning will be here within hours! Camera really zoomed in on Frieda... You can see some of the eggs by her tail...
Good Monday morning, world. Beautiful weekend, now back to work. Ugh. Not too bad out, 53° at home, 63° here, gazillions of stars out and a big bright almost full moon. Could see the brightness of the moon through my blinds before I got up. We have a beautiful clear pic on our cam, wow, can only see 1 spidy line, wish he would go away...like forgever! SD cam is not working, not coming up this morning, and just this refresh, got a black screen on our cam. Not sure what's going on. Ok, our cam pic back. Phew. Hopefully we'll get to see Lib and Belle's early AM visit. All have a great eagle/panda day. Eyes to the sky, see the raptors fly!
Oh, Finally have a pic on SD, but believe it or not, MT Den! THAT is a total bummer!! If Squiggles is there, she is impossible to see, it's way too dark. Our nest still MT, but way early for them. Maybe later.
I feel like I'm working in the Twilight Zone today! My other 4 o'clock person called in sick, next guy comes in at 5:30, he was late. I was beginning to think this was a holiday and nobody told me! Then lost our cam for about an hour and a half, just got it back. Said the server was down. And SD is still showing an MT den, so I'm wondering where Bai and Squiggles are sleeping. It's been MT since 4 this morning, it's now almost quarter after 6. Lots of Bonaire cams are down, went down yesterday, but Frieda is on her eggs. No update on the site, so guess they haven't hatched yet. I sure hope they do soon!
Think I may have found Squiggles. May, very hard to tell. But maybe in center right, looks like some black and white contrast, maybe legs, but sure wouldn't swear to it! Our nest still MT, no visits yet. Rate this day is going, we have a beautiful cam, and they won't stop by to say hi.
GOOD MORNING SUZ-- Belle & Lib have been showing up at 6:45 the last two day. They must be sleeping in this morning. I don't think they showed up at all last evening.
The dawn woke me with the warm love of sun.new joy and new energy rejuvanated in me . I to saw that eagles nestthis year also. ===================================macmillan

GOOD SUNDAY MORNING STEVE--
We sure are enjoying our new TOY.
I haven't seen our eagles this morning, but Candy said she saw one at 6:45---the same time as the sighting yesterday morning.
GOOD MORNING, EAGLE LOVERS...
Thanks for the new thread, Steve ... You made me look at my calendar this morning, but mine shows the 23rd to be the FIRST day of Autumn. Hahaha.

I haven't read or experienced anything of a destructive nature in regards to the storm yesterday, Wanda.
That's usually in the mountains east of Barstow, but I'll take a look-see on that topic.
Jim
Well, I thought autumn started at around 5 am this morning....
Good Autumn Morn my friends
Sunny day at the nest - anxious to read any comments from late last night concerning Frieda's eggs..

It still amazes me how ya'll survive with so little rain, Jim.
We can get 3-4 inches in September alone, although we haven't this year. It is still dry here.
Good morning Paula, Mits and Jim!

HAHAHA Yup i am watching the Travel channel about Disney and geez i am learning things and places about Disney i didnt know even as many times as i have been there didnt know exsisted.. Such as in Epcot there is one of the worlds biggest aquirums and if your acertified diver you can dive for 30 minutes with the fish... But if you dont like inclosed spaces n dark like me i suggest dont ride inside of the Epcot big white round thing..lol

Nest looks strange to me to Janet. But I am very very sleep deprived.
Good afternoon all a beautiful day here, low humidity and not too warm.
Fall equinox I thought started this morning.
I watched F&F for a while last night and got to see the eggs twice and there was no cracks as far as I could see.
I did see the Golden Eagle, are they larger then the Bald Eagles?
Hey you two; there is nothing wrong or strange about our nest. You both need a Panda nap!!LOL
HI ROBYN--
I looked up the Stink Bugs that you were looking at and you are right; they are the one's trying to get in the house. The one's I was looking at on here are the ones we have in our garden. I thought they were the same but they are a little different. Must belong to the same family.
Ohhh Portis is HOT HOT HOT!!!!
LOL
Golden eagle Aquila chrysaetos
Identification Tips:
Length: 32 inches Wingspan: 78 inches
Very large, broad-winged, broad-tailed hawk
Sexes similar
Short, dark, hooked beak with yellow cere
Adult:
Golden feathering on nape
Plumage almost entirely dark brown, without white in underwing coverts
Two pale brown median tail bands
Golden band on upperwing coverts
Immature:
Plumage almost entirely dark brown
White bases to outer secondaries and inner primaries produces oval, white patch
White tail with broad, crisp, dark terminal band
Subadult:
Plumage gradually darkens to resemble that of adult, with white in wings disappearing
Similar species:
Turkey Vulture has a tiny, unfeathered head, holds its wings in a dihedral and has contrastingly paler flight feathers while Black Vulture has white outer primaries and quite different, snappy wingbeats. Immature Golden Eagles have yellow ceres while immature Balds have dark ceres, a useful mark for perched birds. At great heights, dark morph buteos can be similar but are always shorter-winged with more diffuse white areas on underwings and different tail patterns.
I just relized all that yacking i been doing to myself that i didnt get WAX...LOL i think Wanda did ... Heres info on Golden Eagles Wanda..

Touchdown Redskins!!!!!!!!!!!! 14 - 3 Skins
:)
Robyn must sorta be like Map Quest huh it does NOT always give you the correct directions neither..lol
ugh mapquest!
It seems they are almost the same size with the bald being slighlty larger.

Good evening...Switch down under I think. Got a good look at the eggs. Still 3 no little fluff balls yet, but they must be making some noise by the way Freida was acting last night anyway.
Evenng Glo, yes frieda sure was fidgety last night
I hage BUGS!
pAULA'S HORSEY is on the tree trunk again tonight. It must be waiting for Liberty and Belle to show up.
Bai is awake and moving. She is giving Squiggles a little play time, moving her all over. It sure would be nice if they had a little light in there so you could really see what is happening. Bai just lift Squiggles at the entrance and back and gone again. Squiggles is just laying right in front of the entrance.
Squiggles is all in motion trying to go with her MOM.She is just sooo cute. NOw she is calming down.
Brisbane eggs are showing; all three. Don't see any cracks yet. AND none of them are doing any wiggle waggle. Mom is back.
ROBYN How did Tori make out with her math testing or is that this week?
Oh beautiful closeup of parent in Brisbane with pink eegg right under it's breast.
CANDY, that is Freida.
Speking of crickets, I heard crickets are a sign of goodluck.
if found in the home.
OK just patiently sitting here tapping my fingers just like last night LOL...and waiting for our eagle visit.
Robyn, the crickets that dare to come into my house....have bad luck, if you get my drift.
I'll make sure in my next life NOT to come back as a cricket Mits lol
No eagles, no baby falcons, what is going on here? At least Bai came back and I am watching her with Squiggles.
Bai left Squiggles again and now she left her in her doorway to her den in the light. Maybe she ccan keep an eye on her there. That Squiggles is such a bundle of love. Bai is back.
Both are laying side by side in the opening now
Hello again CANDY
I just got through looking at ANNE-MARIE'S Pictures. She is lovely and her pics are spectacular. I was disappointed when I came to the last pic. I wanted to see more!
ROBYN, you might want to come back as a Golden Retriever:):):).
I don't think my eyes are deceiving me. I saw the starting of Spidey's web just now.
SHARON We don't want to hear things like SPIDEY making a new web. I wish eagles ate spiders. :)
OOh, I love that red dress pic, thanks for sharing Anne and thanks for posting them Jo. What beautiful pictures, can't wait to see more.
Rhinos at Africam.
Hey Candy, is March 6 Josh's birthday? That is mine!
MITS Missed the Rhisos, but there is a beautiful sunset on there.
I was looking at Wave-lit Africam, Candy, that is different from Pete's' Pond...I don't think Pete's is a live feed, should be in the middle of the night there
Oh boy, I peeked in quickly on f&f and thought I saw shells turned out to be pebbles that were the same color
GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE
MITS Ok thanks for the info. You have a good night.
Night Mits
I was born on March 6 as well as my niece Becky and my nephew Aaron.
March 6 must be a specially good day. ;)
Good morning SUZANNE, just in case
I don't wake up early enough to get on before school. You have a nice day. Watch our nest, and of course, Bai and Squiggles, and Frieda and Frodo. Thanks
Howdy, Candy, Charon and Robyn!
Any action down under??
Sharon, not Charon!!
March is good month. My youngest was born on March 7th!
Nilla, I watched the prairie dogs. So Cute!
Golfing is like a total upper body workout - arms, back, hands....had a great time!
BTW - that is Mits' Horsey on the tree trunk!
Robyn - hang in there. Tori will be home sooner than you think. You are a wonderful Mom!
I pick up crickets and toss them out the back - that is, if the dogs haven't tortured them to death first :)
Oh, and to top it all off, my friend and I had steaks on the grill :)
I hope you all had a great weekend. I'm going to call it a night early.
GOOD NIGHT, EAGLE LOVERS/GOOD MONDAY MORNING BEGINNING TO THE NEW WEEK....
JIM
PAULA--
Glad you had a good time with your "FRIEND". Sounds like a fun day.
This weekend went by entirely too fast. Now we have to get to work again. Bedtime.
GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE
Night Ladies and jim.
Tori was born March 1st.
I see spideys web but nothing else.
Whoops! I was unable to return this evening to chat..Sorry our Eagle couple disappointed everyone by not visiting the nest. Tomorrow morning will be here within hours!
Camera really zoomed in on Frieda...
You can see some of the eggs by her tail...
Looks windy in oz, she is turning again and I need to sleep tonight since I awake at 5:30. Half hour more of oz then sleep :)
Good Night
Peace to You & Yours
Prayers being said for all your needs
Good Monday Morning
all you Early Birds
Well I have to say this YAY GIANTS, oops sorry that was the NY'er in me coming out. I do like Gibbs racing :)
Night Jo
Boooo, Giants!!! :(:(:(
Morning, Suz!!
Ok, no visitors yet this morning, nobody else up here yet, and I have GOT to go down the hall.
BBIALW
GOOD MORNING SUZ--
Belle & Lib have been showing up at 6:45 the last two day. They must be sleeping in this morning.
I don't think they showed up at all last evening.
Oh, Morning, Wanda. They didn't? Bummer. Maybe they went on vacation before they start getting serious about hanging about the nest.
COME ON OVER TO A NEW THREAD
SUZ.................
Okie dokie...
The dawn woke me with the warm love of sun.new joy and new energy rejuvanated in me . I to saw that eagles nestthis year also.
