Oh Bai is smooth... She's rolled Squiggles, then she sorta rolls herself into a sitting position, now it's feeding time. Too funny! Our birthday girl is quite a momma!

For 2 days in a row (mornings) I have been able to watch on the DC Asian Trail the small-clawed otters swimming and playing

As I mentioned yesterday, Maine cam is back online after a lightning strike, didn't see the eagles yesterday, but heard them last night at sundown.
Is anyone having trouble with the panda cam. It comes on for a few seconds and goes off.Won't play continously like before.

Bobbi - I am watching the timer tick off the seconds now on the SC panda cam. It was stuck there for awhile..Hopefully it will keep going. The pic sometimes stays the same so I hadn't noticed - now I'll watch the timer..
Of course that is the San Diego cam

This may be a stupid question, but can't they do a blood test on the SD cub to determine its gender.
I guess maybe they don't like to draw blood at such a young age.
It said in the video that they had a suspicion about the gender -- but they didn't say what the suspicion was. This is worse than a soap opera. haha

Good grief, what's taking them so long to figure it out? Course I guess that's better than thinking you have a male until you find out "he's" preggers...with twins, like they did in China.
On the one exam - the vet slipped by saying 'she' I think they are thinking a female gender.
Not sure about blood test to determine sex..... Someone once said that the female's black bib over her back dips down farther then the males'! lol Old wives tales sometimes hold truth!

Squiggles still alone, but they're not zooming! Darn. Lots of fishies on Bonaire reef cam.
They changed the underwater cam view on the 2nd Fin nest cam. Kinda neat. But the osprey cam is still not updating, and the skies are getting dark at the marina. Time for their daily rain storm.

Just a guess, I think it is a girl, because by now if it were a boy, wouldn't it be obvious....if you get my drift:).
LOL, Mits. Who knows? Think that article on the boy that was a girl in China was because they said that body part was extremely small in pandas. That's all I gotta say about that...
Unless he's not "well endowed". haha
The only reason I thought it might be a male was because it's been quiet and laid back.
The males are normally the more passive gender, and the females are more feisty. Remember Mei Lan lunging at the photographer during her exams.
The quietness of this cub made me think it could be a male.
Could be, Lisa, but Tai-Shan was a feisty one:).
Mits, Maine and Norfolk were the first cams I watched prior to finding all you wonderful people. I am glad you heard the eagles. :)
Birthday girls cam back with bamboo for Squiggles!
OH look, she's trying to put the bamboo on top of Squiggles. Or something. too cute. Nope, picked Squiggles up and now gonna nurse, but you can see the bamboo at the top of the pic. Bai just looked up at the cam, how cool!
Good point Lisa - They say the cub's personality does favor the father's.
Yes, I remember Mei's reaction to her exams! I thought she had gotten someone one day when she lunged!

thanks for info on the panda cam. Just checked it out and seems to working now. It is getting harder and harder to leave house with all the cams to look at. Hubby just shakes his head but knows how I am about wildlife. He's pretty soft himself when it comes to animals
