Good Morning NCTC Bloggers. Hope the weekend ahead holds something special for each of you. I started my day with a photo from Tesoro nest. Couple of longer sticks hanging out of that nest now too. Our New Eagle Season is coming and very soon. One nest at a time.
Thanks for the new thread Steve. Good Morning Liberty and Belle.
Good Morning Thanks for the new thread and for enlarging the Polar Bear pic for us. Those bears are waiting for AnneMarie to arrive! Thanks, Jill for the heads up! Were you starting your day or ending it? Hi Glo! Your right about our new season not being far from starting to happen - exciting! I see that Candy had been on - I think we'll see her later in the day.
GOOD SATURDAY MORNING...Thanks, Lisa, I love the pic of Tai, your right he does look like he is in his own habitat. The whole Asia Trail is wonderful. Worth the trip to the National Zoo.
So I do have a question for those seeing the Polar Bear this morning. How many do you see of the original picture before clicking on it. I now have 2 pictures one on top of the other. Steve is working hard to share that photo for sure.
Hi There Paula & Mits! I was eating some breakfast and had my nose in the morning newspaper. No plans for the day - There is a kite exhibit down at the park from 10-4 today and then there is a grandson's soccer game at 3 in the same park. Just depends on the 'heat of the day' as to whether or not I attend.

Found this info about the CT nest on the Puleston site. Still one juvie there at Puleston, too.
Sherri who posts on the Maine forum was at the nest again yesterday and posted the following: "Anyway....it was after hours for the center but Ken was there and he filled me in. It seems as though they now believe that it is for sure, Dad and likely the female immature" who are still around the nest (one of the other folks at the Audubon Center had said they thought it was the smaller juvenile who was still around, and those who watch the cam from the Maine forum thought he'd left a week or two ago). She also learned "The OTHER good news is that we are going to have a new cam next year. It will be live stream with night vision! WHAAAAAAAA-HOOOOOOOO! [Very Happy emoticon] Likely will not have sound due to the wind factor where the nest is.......as well as being right in the airport path. He said it is like the cams that are on I-95 ....... I haven't had a chance to check them out yet. Apparently has good close up capability. He would like to have it installed before the osprey return next year so that he can get all the 'bugs' worked out. If it does get installed, he said he can turn it around and watch the ducks during the winter."
GOOD SATURDAY MORNING JO, MITS, PAULA, NILLA, AND GLO. I got up in time to see EAGLE ALERT and by the time I checked in, gone. ;( I have the site on now, so hope to catch it later.
Checked in on SF and looks like a nice day for cruise launch. :) Anne-Marie must be really excited by now. Sure hope she has good weather and a great time.
Checked on our eagle cam this morning, but see that it is still now on. I am getting anxious for it to come on so we can see and hear our Liberty and Belle.
Thats great news Paula from the looks of it this coming season will be a fantasic 1 for viewing with all the new cams and sounds!!!! Like Glo said will be here before we know it.. I am working this morning and thinking of riding over to NCTC this evening to take a look see maybe see the eagles!!!
Chehalis River Cams... October'07 to January'08... Thousands of Eagles and millions of spawning salmon... Coming next month be sure to put in favorites!!!
Ok having moments here our time the ship leaves at 7 pm Mits? 3 hurs difference? I dont know what time Iris ship leaves port, but i am sure she is excited!!!
The link for the Tesoro cam is not working thru their website. They have cam1 and cam2. Cam1 is thru the site. You have to cut and paste the url for cam2 directly into either WMP or real player.
Silly me standing up trying to see waht that red thing is on the cam now must be the roof of the ship.. Ok Heidi make your way up there stand up and wave...lol
Heck i am as excited as Heidi i think..lol I wont get a thing done today but go home at 3pm and set at comp and watch the ship cruise out of San Francisco Bay.. This is so awsome as if we are going along!!!
Paula some of the ships cameras are not working and sometimes it said they are out of satielite range[spellin] anyways if you found 1 that works for you great!!! Jo i have goose bumps thinking about how they must be feeling.. But dont envey Iris in that NY traffic!!
I won't see, Anne's ship leave either.....WOW, Paula, might have to go to China, the zoo is having a trip in Sept, and some voulnteers are going in Oct, but I'm staying here waiting for baby#2.....Happy 30th Birthday to my son, Kevin today...big crab feast at his house today, and Maggie started to crawl last night.
Well HAPPY BIRTHDAY to your son Kevin... Crabs i would love to have some but with this sore throat i could not taste them.. my voice comes and goes, daughter said she is same way.. Just talked with son in law and he is coping.. Oh Jenny just called and she is bringing Jasmin to me around 3:30!! HAPPY HAPPY
I guess that Wanda is into the 2nd day of her Mother's yard sale... Just don't know where our NORMABYRD is hiding out. Believe me if the Mountaineers start winning - she'll be here! lol
Iris is actually boarding her ship out of Istanbul. The ship you saw Nilla is hers but she is currently in the air flying to Amsterdam. As I mentioned in chat last night we will be following her itinerary on a fairly regular basis on Chat Cruises. No the ship cam she is on doesn't up date frequently at all, but she has been thoroughly encouraged to wave every time she goes by the cam so keep an eye out.
Thanks, everyone....it is a big time thing that she is crawling...new baby supposed to be here on 10-2, but who knows....rest assured Mei always wins over Tian).
Hi Glo thanks for the info on her flying.. But that is her ship in NYC? Honestly i thought she said she was leaving from NYC on that ship..lol Duhhh musta been an air plane instead... Ut Oh Mei and Tain are getting ready to go at it again.. but she gave him alow growl and he backed off..lol
Paula if you bring up the Princess Cruises there is a small window you can tab it down for alist of cams... Right now i amwatching Coral Princess cruising to Ketchikan, Alaska. The picture refreshes fast to...
Well Nilla she was thrilled that you had actually seen her ship docked there in New York but yes hers is a Mediterranean cruise. Won't board for several days but hoping some will come on in an follow her trip. Gonna cruise tonight and tomorrow night about 8 Eastern. Will take me a while then to set up cruise again for mid week as we follow Iris around.
I do have the cam marked for Anne Marie's trip also just for fun but do not really have a clue of her itinerary. Sure is high up in the air though not gonna see Anne Marie or her red dress...if we do , well lets just say she has to have been flying high that day
Well Glo i will try my best to be in the chat room for the cruise tonight .. you know how much i enjoy it... Mits have awonderful day with family and seeing MAGGIE crawling... I love the weekends because i have JASMIN..
As many of you know, our Eagle Eyed Sharon has had her share of tough times during this past year.
There is now a Candle Light Tribute set up by Glo where you can light a candle for her and surround her with your love and support as she deals with yet another loss of a family member - her brother.
Per Nilla's suggestion...In case there is anyone new reading this who is not aware of the Eagle Chat room...you get there by clicking on my name here on the BLOG and heading on over to the For the Love of Eagles BLOG.
Near the top on the left you will see the entrance to the chatroom.
Only other eagleholics are there LOL. You don't even have to chat if you are coming in for the cruise. Just put any name or whatever in the blank space and enter. Its fun ...give it a try. Anyone is welcome..
One of our Eagle holics IRIS has left for distant lands. She will be spending the next 3 weeks in Greece and stopping at ports up and down the Meditteranean.
Tonight at 8 pm eastern we will begin to follow her along her trip. We will also Cruise tomorrow night at the same time and I will set up another one for midweek about Wed or Thurs.
I hope you can join us for one or all of the cruises.
Ok Out of here to get ready for Mass. Just spoke with Sharon by phone and she very much loves all the candles we are lighting for her and her family. ((( hugs )))
I think I'd better publish this while it's still Saturday....
We were joking about partying all night on the blog last night, and amusingly enough, someone around the pool here did party much of the night. Somewhat hard to sleep.
I got up once this morning, got some stuff done, then laid down to unkink my back..........
"OMG! It's past noon!"
At least I'm getting rested, since the lay-off. It IS a beatiful, hazy-sunny day today at about 75° in So Cal.
I missed the eagle AND the Kestrel at BW this morning. Anybody get photos?
Bon voyage to Anne-Marie...hope it's as beautiful there as Steve's picture of the Polar Bears shows.
Frodo is now setting upon the clutch...if you believe my Pilot Pen measuring device, and if the cam operator has not changed the distance to the nest again.
In other words, the bird on there now appears shorter than the one I measured earlier.
Trying to get on that Eagle chatroom was a challenge. I had no idea what I was doing. Finally got on after the cruise was over. I think I will be able to board the next ship on time.
HI JO-- Yes, I have been doing the yard sale thing. It has been far too hot to have a yard sale, but I promised Mom we would do it this weekend, so here we are. We have it partly outside and in her basement, which leads out into the yard. But still very hot due to haveing the door open. Gene has been tending to the outside duties. He is super! Mom had her house redecorated and this yard sale is helping rid her of her old items. Her first yard sale at 87yrs. She is having a blast.
I think my main problem with the Chatroom was, as Glo suggested, My Java needed to be updated. I think I will know what to expect next time. I was very surprised, everyone was very chatty! I couldn't get a work in edgewise. I need to think and type faster.
That was my problem - I type not so fast but they read it when I am finished..... I also use a separator between comments - it helps keep up. I also bold my print..... Only takes a few times to feel comfortable... I go over on cruises and some other unadventurous events.
I am so saddened by Sharon's yet another loss. I know that God says that He won't put on us more than we can bear and that He will carry all our sorrows, but it seems He sure does have a lot of trust on our Eagle Eyed Sharon. May God Bless You, little sister, in the name of our Lord, and give your peace and comfort in your heart. Your eagle family loves you very much and so do I. love your big sis, donna. (((((Sharon)))).
Eeuww! you like Ewwies, Mauley. Hahahahaha. There's somebody else too, isn't there?
Actually, the Buzzard, or Turkey Vulture, is very adept at soaring (graceful too), and it rarely flaps its wings, in order to conserve energy. They're about the same size and shape as a Red-tailed Hawk, and if they're far enough away, it's sometimes hard to tell them apart.
We used to have both circling high over our place in Del Mar Terrace. We were surrounded on three sides by sandstone hills, and the one directly behind, Red Rock, was pretty high and rose steeply. That condition, together with a steady sea breeze coming from the forth direction, gave rise to great updrafts and thermals.
Anyway, at say 1000 ft. overhead, they're both black and shaped about the same, but a quick way to tell them apart is that while soaring, the Red-tail will have its tail "fanned" using it for additional wing, as well as a rudder; but the Buzzard has its tail held "straight back".
These Buzzards, or Ewwies, appear younger and not so ugly around the head and neck areas as most that I have seen, and in flight the Turkey Vulture is really graceful and skillful and beautiful. But some of them in close-up REALLY deserve the "Ewwie" name in my book!
GOOD MORNING TO ALL MY FRIENDS-- Checked some cams and not much going on. Anne-Marie's ship seems to have a Black-Out, or they don't operate the cam this early.
HAVE A BLESSED SUNDAY: Being at peace with yourself is a direct result of finding peace with God.

We were joking about partying all night on the blog last night, and amusingly enough, someone around the pool here did party much of
the night.
Jim
The Kestrel was just at BW, but it was just forced off by what some of you call a "Ewwie," but what we call a "Buzzard" out West here.
Jim
Frodo is now setting upon the clutch...if you believe my Pilot Pen measuring device, and if the cam operator has not changed the distance to the nest again.
In other words, the bird on there now appears shorter than the one I measured earlier.
Jim
Wow Jim does that fancy measuring device double as a writing utensil too???????? LOL
Yup, Jill,
My Pilot Pen has many varied uses, and it tells me that Frieda has returned now.
However, I plan to use my Pilot Pen to measure some larger piece of gravel, so I will be sure the camera distance has not changed.
Jim
There! I found two larger chunks of gravel, which are approx. the length of the pointed end of the barrel at this distance from the camera.
Frieda measures from the pointed end of the Pilot Pen to the pocket clasp, but Frodo extends from the point to a spot about ¼" short of the clasp.
Jim
Where did everyone go? Did you all jump over-board while cruising with IRIS?
Trying to get on that Eagle chatroom was a challenge. I had no idea what I was doing. Finally got on after the cruise was over. I think I will be able to board the next ship on time.
It was a good trip - If you need any help email me.
Have you been having your mom's yard sale?
HI JO--
Yes, I have been doing the yard sale thing.
Bai has Squiggles cradled by her arm.
I am going to call it a night
Good night everyone
Peace to You & Yours
Prayers for Sharon and her family

Almost forgot to tell Candy
to hang in there - Gabrielle became a tropical storm - but there will be lots and lots of rain I betcha!
Thinking about you Candy
I am right behind you JO. Sleep well.
Sharon, you are once again, in our prayers. Just know we all love you and are thinking of you.
GOOD NIGHT TO YOU ALL WHEREVER YOU ARE.
Oh Wanda, you still have your Mommy. How wonderful. Would you just give her a big hug from mauley? I miss my mother so very much. donna
Jim, Mauley likes Ewwies. Did you know?
Eeuww! you like Ewwies, Mauley.
Jim
GOOD NIGHT, EVERYONE/GLORIOUS SUNDAY MORNING TO YOU...
JIM
GOOD MORNING TO ALL MY FRIENDS--
Checked some cams and not much going on. Anne-Marie's ship seems to have a Black-Out, or they don't operate the cam this early.
HAVE A BLESSED SUNDAY:
Being at peace with yourself is a direct result of finding peace with God.
NEW SUNDAY MORNING
THREAD IS UP FOR THE DAY
