New thread.

We are working with a third party partner to provide a website that would deliver our live feed with a great deal more bandwidth. John is working with them this week to see if this will work. Stand by.

LOL Sitting here giggling like an idiot after watching Paula's poop shoot video. Your right, it froze at the right time. Make it look like that little guy really needed to go.

Went out and got more begonias, ferns, geraniums and other plants I could not pass up. :) Then on the way home saw funny looking clouds. Plants are now in the garage. Storms headed our way. Temp is dropping, down to 58, and thunder is roaring. TV says hail. Lovely, just lovely!

Lolly said...

Raining now, no hail. Thank goodness, and the temp is still dropping. Brrrr! So thankful for the rain.

Lolly said...

Something is bothering the eagle at OK. Have seen it duck and yell and looking all around.

Mema Jo said...

Hi There - company has left and it was really a beautiful 4 hrs! Donavon is a little angle - slept so peacefully most of the time - but was wide eyed and looking all around some of the time!
My other 3 ggkids were so much fun to be around!!

Lolly I am glad you got those flowers safely to the garage before the rains came. Pur forecast calls for a wet weekend.

Mema Jo said...

I always did have trouble typing
Angle and Angel I know you know that Donavon was an ANGEL

deb said...

Sounds like a wonderful visit, Jo.

Glad the hail hasn't come, Lolly.

I put up a very short clip of Puleston HP on Nest pictures.

joden96 said...

Hey Hanna! Hopefully yours will work.

joden96 said...

Deb, I love your nest video's and pic's. There awesome!

Lolly said...

So glad you enjoyed your visit, Jo. Take pictures?

Still raining and still no hail. Hoo Haa! Thinking about a panda nap. Tried to talk Jack into building a fire...he said tonight. Bummer!

Mema Jo said...

Loved the Poop Shoot video, Paula!

I was on the Asia Trail with the camera lady!!! It very well could be that Mits is in control. I took a few minutes to view the photos of the newly born Clouded Leopards! They are a must see!

Headed to your blog, Deb...

Lolly said...

Just saw one cute, healthy looking esglet at OK. Saw no action from the other two eggs.

deb said...

Eagle at Maine 1.

deb said...

Thanks, and welcome, Joden.

hedgie said...

Well, Lolly, tonight will be here pretty soon! Glad the hail didn't hit....it would have done a bad number on the ones you planted yesterday!

deb said...

I found your frog, Lynn, and saw your pretty, ice covered trees, too.

Mema Jo said...

Looking at your blog, Deb.From Cold Cows to the Heron Fly Out and then our nest pics....... Great collection of videos!

hedgie said...

Glad you checked, Deb...did you feed my frog??? Jo, check my blog!

Mema Jo said...

How about that frog's tongue! lol

deb said...

I sure did, Lynn!

deb said...

Thanks, Jo! I felt sorry for those poor cows!

Mema Jo said...

Hi Joden and welcome!

I am going in to my recliner and put my leg up with some ice. It is really feeling pretty good today but does swell
if I do to much or have it down very long.

hedgie said...

Hi ya, Thelma!! How's every little thing in Bedford?

T-Bird said...

things are okay in Bedford Land-it is raining and chilly

T-Bird said...

how about your neck of the woods lynn

Lolly said...

Took a panda nap, now Jack is napping. That kind of day! Still raining. Wahoo! Temp is down to 52.

Fed your frog, Lynn. Kinda of creepy! LOL I do not like frogs! Never have, never will.

Costume Lady said...

Deb, I posted a strang bird which Gene saw in our front yard today. Have you seen it? I think it may be a HAWK, you would probably know. Take a look when you have time. (Wild and Wonderfull) It's always so exciting to see a strange bird on your property:)

NatureNut said...

Saw all 3 NBG chicks get some food.
Our baby was in view.

Lolly said...

Was just watching NBG, Love the way the adult eagles feed eagle other. Saw all three eaglets! LOVE that cam! The color, the zooming in, the action!

Lolly said...

LOL make that "each other"!

hedgie said...

Nice report on Ch. 9 about the clouded leopard cubs. And they reported that another breeding pair just mated last week, so hopefully there will be more!

hedgie said...

Whoops...missed your post, Tbird! Things are chilly here...no rain yet, but in the forecast. We need it so badly.....so many brush fires...

wvgal_dana said...

Well I'm not finished comments. Have this side of thread to catch up on.

Great video of our chicks 1st poop shoot Paula.

I'm like everyone else still don't know what that reddish thing in our nest is?

hedgie said...

Filming on the Potomac in DC today for a new TV show about the FBI field office...they exploded a scull with a dummy in it....people watched from the riverbank and bridges; waited for over 4 hrs. to see it! Looked rather dull to me!

deb said...

It is definitely a hawk, Wanda. How big was it or could you tell?

My first guess was going to be Cooper's Hawk, but it looks bigger than that.

Loretta, what do you think? Could be a Red-shouldered??

hedgie said...

Good shot, Wanda....I'm looking through my book now to identify one I got....will see if I see yours!

paula eagleholic said...

Wanda - might be an immature red tail hawk..saw one similar at Blackwater

paula eagleholic said...

Catch ya'll later

Red said...

I'm back from the lung doctor now. He did extensive testing and found my lung capacity is about 25% of what it should be. He is temporarily putting me on oxygen and if I improve he'll take me off it. Gave me a weeks supply (1 per day) of Prednisone and put me on a nebulizador to inhale Ipratropuum/Albuterol 4 times a day. I go back to see him in a week. Guess I'll live.

hedgie said...

Maybe a Marsh Hawk??

hedgie said...

Looks closer to that than to anything else I see.

T-Bird said...

Red I hope you feel better soon.

hedgie said...

It is the only North American bird to be known as a harrier...hunts by flying close to the ground, taking small animals by surprise.

T-Bird said...

Well gang I'll catch you later.

hedgie said...

Red, glad you got some immediate action instead of lots more tests! Keep us posted on how you respond...and watch out for that prednisone! It might make you gain weight!

Red said...

I think Wanda's hawk is a Cooper or Sharp Shinned Hawk. Not enough detail in the photo to determine features.

Red said...

Only seven tables of prednisone. How much can I gain in a week?

deb said...

I agree, Red, wish we could see its head and tail better.

hedgie said...

Since Wanda lives on Gosling Marsh Rd., marsh hawk would be appropriate...LOL!

hedgie said...

Oh, heck, Red...probably only a couple of pounds!!!

wvgal_dana said...

Neat frog Lynn...I didn't over feed him though. I thought at first he left the screen lol--was looking on my keyboard for him ( :

wvgal_dana said...

Red when do you wear the oxygen and at what level did the doctor put you at?

T-Bird said...

lll

Lolly said...

7/10 rain and it is funny how 53 feels so cold! Trees are really greening up this week. Just when you really get into the swing of spring...this happens. Deb...leaving the freezer door open again?

deb said...

I was so busy studying the hawk, I missed your post, Red. I am glad your doctor got you going right away on treatment and hope it is just what you need to get back on track!

wvgal_dana said...

CO and TH should have the next hatching. Both laid 1st egg on Feb. 17th.

Close-up of NBG chicks awww so cute.

wvgal_dana said...

Hi Thelma hows it going?

Lolly said...

Watching the news and the sand bagging in Fargo.

deb said...

Lolly, it is 49 here and feels warm after yesterday!

wvgal_dana said...

Parent eating at NBG

wvgal_dana said...

You know it is so funny. We look and look into these nest cups. Can't hardly see a thing. Then like at NBG you get 3 chicks in there. You see parent trying to curl those talcons in as to not step on chicks. Now thinking there isn't much room in there lol

sunny said...

Hi Guys! I was away from a computer all day. Did Lib go out fishing with his buddies??

deb said...

Yes, he sure did, Sunny and he went hunting to for Mystery Meat!

paula eagleholic said...

Parent eating our nest

hedgie said...

Going to post my photo now on my blog....have no idea what they are...at first glance you will think they are robins...but were too big for robins! Awfully blurred on blow-up...sorry!

paula eagleholic said...

Awww, now chicklet is gonna eat...

deb said...

Now feeding Hidey.

Mema Jo said...

Man! Check the sound on Hornby 1

paula eagleholic said...

Can really see the dud egg good tonight...

Wonder how long it will last?

Mema Jo said...

There is one very distraught nesting eagle at that nest.. I've never heard so much calling out.

Mema Jo said...

Nesting Hornby eagle has settled down
I thought that she was laying another egg
Only 1 egg under her......

Mema Jo said...

ME nest has adult eagle
(The old nest)

hedgie said...

Okay....posted it but it just shows up as the Picasa symbol....what did I do wrong???

deb said...

I think we aren't going to know about the LW eaglets for awhile after they hatch again this year. That egg cup is deep!

Mema Jo said...

Had finished dinner - be back later

Leg Up Time!

deb said...

I would have to know what you did to tell you what you did wrong! Are you loading more than one picture?

hedgie said...

No, Deb, only one. when I opened th epic on Picasa it gave me a Blog link, so did it that way......it shows when I preview but not showing on the blog itself! Have seen this happen on Wanda's sometimes but it opens when I right click and choose show picture....on mine, the show picture is grayed out!

deb said...

When I click it, it takes me to my dashboard. I am not sure why?

hedgie said...

I'll delete it and start over!!! Thanks for helping this dummy, Deb!

magpie said...

I just knew that first Poop Shoot was going to be a winner!

Nice going Paula..

I greatly enjoy seeing what I miss out on when I am working...☺

deb said...

Survivor is tonight, Wanda!!

paula eagleholic said...

So Red, guess the O2 puts a damper on your outside plans for the next week? Hope the Dr can find a cause and not just a cure for your symptons.

hedgie said...

Okay, it's posted! Can anyone tell any thing through the blur??

wvgal_dana said...

Survivor tonight is just going over what has happened in past when this one started.

Costume Lady said...

Lynn, your birds look very similar to the ones that Gene saw today.
I'll have to check them out again.
Interesting that you both saw a strange bird today. We are truly Wild and Wonderful, here in WV.

magpie said...

I disappeared into the bath bubbles and things...
Work was okay, Deb, thanks - - kind of a long with its share of people in need and people who don't know how to act like Americans.
It is What It Is....Nothing too terribly outrageous.
I work with a good crew and we manage to laugh a lot...mostly at ourselves!

magpie said...

Nice challenge with your birds, Wanda and Lynn.

Glad your picture posted, Lynn. Isn't that a great feeling of accomplishment?

xo
I haven't read the first part of today's new thread, back in awhile.

Your Nest pictures are Great, Deb Like the HP at Puleston!

deb said...

Lynn, did you say your bird was like a robin, but wasn't a robin?

hedgie said...

Wonder what's going on with verizon email....can't send anything to those addressess...it just keeps saying unavailable. Argh!!! Will try later!

hedgie said...

Deb, when I enlarged it on the camera there was a good bit of red/crimson on the abdomen...on the puter it looked more orangy but it shows white between the red and the wing.
Actually, Wanda, I took this about 10 days ago....but just figured out today how to make it big enough to at least get a gander!

deb said...

I can send to Verizon, just tested Mits.

hedgie said...

And, Deb, they were much bigger than robins!

magpie said...

Two adults at LW - looks so serene there tonight

magpie said...

I have a crazy guess about your birds, Lynn...
Could they be yellow-billed cuckoos?
The tail would be about half as long as the body, and kind of striped horizontally and the beak of course would be yellow, and just a teeny bit curved...
Just a thought...

magpie said...

Actually the tail would be about as long as the body! We have them around here but not sure if they would be moving through this area already...I have seen them at, where else! Swinging Bridge, later in the season.

hedgie said...

Okay, they went through that time!
They must have the equivalent of a blogger cop!

hedgie said...

Margy, I have no idea....have never seen one and not in my Audubon Field Guide!! Couldn''t make out the tail....sounds like a good guess to me!!!

magpie said...

I got your verizon email, Lynn and sent you a picture of a cuckoo...

magpie said...

It really all depends on its beak, as to whether this will be a good guess....

They are cool birds, and I think your habitat is suitable for them...!

magpie said...

I'm going shopping for a (beginner's) digital camera this week-end, and then need to hook up a "new printer" that a friend has given me with a scanner and other cool things...
Got to get good pictures of those Baby Blue Bells ☺

I think, life will never be the same after all this....

hedgie said...

Looked it up online, Margy....don't think that's it....looks longer and sleeker than mine, and it said it's a long tail...no mention of any red/crimson/orange.

magpie said...

I can't really account for that red on the abdomen you mention, Lynn ...some red on the wings though.

Speaking of RED -
hope your treatment plan works well and quickly, Red...we can't spare you ! ☺

magpie said...

Okay, back to square one then...

I'll be back in awhile, need to do some "accounting" - i.e. pay some bills :(

magpie said...

...I need to hook you up with a Peterson Field Guide, Hedgie...

magpie said...

One adult LW eagle has left

hedgie said...

Got email, Margy....don't think so. Was that bird sitting on a hand?????
You are really moving up, girlfriend...new printer, scanner and maybe a new camera!! Whoo hoo as Jo would say!

magpie said...

The printer/scanner was a freebie from a co-worker....just need to scrounge up some space to place it!
And then dozens of instructions to plow through. ☺

paula eagleholic said...

Lynn, I fed your froggie :-)

paula eagleholic said...

Oh, and I am sure that's not the first poop shoot by our eaglet...it's just the first one caught on video! :)

magpie said...

..And Whooooo better than YOU to capture it Paula ! Funny we talked about it yesterday, and it was exactly what I had in mind....a slo-mo stream ! ☺

hedgie said...

Mits, were you on the pandas today? I watched them for awhile and it was looking good! Has staff seen any signs yet, or will it strictly be picked up in urine when they start testing?

hedgie said...

Thanks, Paula, for feeding my froggy! We knew what you meant about the poop shoot!

hedgie said...

Raining here...not heavy, but wet nonetheless! Yippee!

Mits said...

Lynn, that happens to me periodically with AOL and hot mail won't let me get thru at times....No news on Mei Xiang yet..I know that keep close tabs on her urine, but we have not bee called for pregnancy watch yet, probably towards the middle of April things might pick up, she did surprise me this afternoon when she dragged some bamboo into the birthing den..

deb said...

OMG, eagle at KENT!!!!

deb said...

Quick, open up Kent to see the eagle!

Red said...

Got my oxygen machine got delivered this evening. Doctor wants me on it 24/7 but that won't work. I've got stuff to do. So he'll have to settle for "most of the time when I'm in the house". lol He said I probably won't be on it forever. Just till I get my lungs back in shape.

deb said...

Is anyone else seeing the Kent eagle? Anyone that watches it anyway.

hedgie said...

Well, maybe she's trying to tell us something, Mits. We can HOPE!

magpie said...

Got it Deb - Thanks !!!

deb said...

NatureNut said...

Evening Everyone. Watched Idol & am konking out--maybe a cold coming on--no big deal.
At work I checked site a little (don't tell) & Wanda's Hawk looks like a Copper's depending on size.
Cooper can be about 15" -20" from head to tail tip. Almost identical Sharp-shinned is up to 11" long. Their tails are long & striped.Cooper has a flatish head. I put one on blog not long ago that landed in our yard. Mine was juvie, tho & had streaky chest. Adult is orangy. (Is that a word?)

magpie said...

Won't Lorraine be tickled to death!

That was Way Cool, and think the bird is still close by - looked like he or she flew UP but not AWAY

magpie said...

Okay RFed !

Just give it your best shot and do the best you can....

Prayers for you....xo ♥

deb said...

It flew up in the tree, probably to the limb they like to sit on.

Mits said...

aarrggghhh, missed it:(

magpie said...

Well, sorry RED, not RFed - was too excited about Kent Eagle to fix my boo-boo in time ☺

magpie said...

And thank goodness for email dings or I mighta missed that Eagle, DEB...xo

deb said...

Next, Loretta, you will have to look at Lynn's bird. I am stumped, keep going to a Northern Flicker and I know it isn't that! The reddish spot by the eye gets me to flicker, but the rest of the bird doesn't.

Mits said...

I turn my dingys down when jubby goes to bed, so that is why I didn't hear you calling Deb.

magpie said...

Sure, Orangy is a word, Loretta!

deb said...

I have Pictures, Helen. It is the eagle that had the spot on its' head I think. I'll get them posted.

magpie said...

The Night Bandit Wins :(

Got to find the feather pillows.

Good Night, All

Peace, Love and Prayers xo ♥

NatureNut said...

Red, hope you get up to snuff soon!Sounds like they've really got you on a good program.

Lynn, puzzled by your birds--are 2 next to each other? Can't get a good side view of whole body. When you mentioned crimson & white, I thought of rose-breasted grosbeak, but males have black on sides, wings, etc. Your's seem to be brown, right?
BTW, today I fed hamster, fish & frog! LOL

paula eagleholic said...

Lynn - you might want to try to use this site to ID your bird

Mits said...

I don't see them Deb?

NatureNut said...

Deb, just read you---our flickers have read spot on back of the head--yellow shafted. In fact for the first time ever I was able to get a pic of one at work. I know megan had some pics. Lynn's are bigger than robins, right? Red-shafted w/red streak on cheek is in the West.

Mits said...

but I fed your hamster:)

deb said...

I forgot to hit Publish post, they are there now.

I knew it wasn't a flicker, hardly anything matched and now I really do. We have both red and yellow shafted here.

paula eagleholic said...

Don't see any rain there yet...just a fish :-)

NatureNut said...

Saw the Kent pic on your blog, Deb.It's almost got a cubby hole between those branches!

paula eagleholic said...

But I see the rain is finally coming on the radar

paula eagleholic said...

Gave the hamster a bedtime snack :-)

paula eagleholic said...

Oh, and nice pics Deb.

hedgie said...

Yes, there were two, one behind the other...no real clear view....looked back at what I downloaded from camera and maybe the original shot is not as bad as I thought. I'll send it to you in email tomorrow, gang, and maybe it will be more informative than the blurry enlargement.
Will check out that site, Paula.
Night, Margy! Have a good shift tomorrow.

Mits said...

nice to see the eagle at Kent....that hamster is going to get fat.....Goodnight everyone.

Heading for tub. Peaceful sleep for all. Wonder what surprises tomorrow will bring to our next??!!
