Glo, I was sure that you had the hatch last night. It looked like a little one to me.

carolinabeachmom said...

And back down again.

wvgal_dana said...

WE SPLIT BACK THERE HOPE EVERYONE MAKES IT OVER.......

NatureNut said...

Caught the end of that, but beak went down before I could get a pic! It did look just like Glo's video. Did Dex or Deb catch it?

deb said...

I got the one before this, 3 intact eggs from what I could tell. Pictures are on Nest page.

NatureNut said...

OOPS, we should have probably seen some shell fragments if it were a hatch. Didn't see any.

T-Bird said...

I saw three eggs. : (

movin said...

Thanks, Deb, for the links to Maine forum (temp).

At least one commenter thought that the female I was describing as the resident was in fact the new intruder.

I thought I could I.D. that pair in 2007, and perhaps part of last year, but I can't be sure now who is who.

That must be prime eagle real estate. They are always getting challengers .. both sexes .. on that nest.

glo said...

Yes this is Dex

movin said...

Looked at Deb's pics of the eggs. Definitely three of them, but the blurriness of the enlarged pic makes it difficult to tell how 'intact' they are.

I don't see any definite pips or cracks in this shot though.

paula eagleholic said...

Red - you are having my "King Ranch Chicken" for dinner, LOL

I love it!

paula eagleholic said...

Dana - just leave out the chilies...it's really good.

hedgie said...

Glo, you are NOT nutty!!! And we both should go for the eye exam, cause I was right there with you last night!! The more I looked, the less I saw, tho', so guess it was just wishful thinking eyes!!!

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

I watched til I darn near went blind. I saw talons when I was watching it live but then I would have sworn I saw an eaglet. Oh well, it is what it is!

Red said...

I just looked up the recipe for Kings Ranch Chicken. Very similar to my recipe. It is delicious. And it's even better tomorrow warmed up.

wvgal_dana said...

Paula What can I substitute instead of the can of mushroom soup?

hedgie said...

Red, your recipe sounds really good...bet you all eat off of it for a week!!

hedgie said...

Dana, just use more chicken soup!

magpie said...

I'm real glad to be a Momster this year but I have to admit in years past....I just "kinda" watched and waited...wasn't so involved thought I watched a lot! Now I am adding more grey hairs ! But I wouldn't trade it for anything ☺

Feeling a little totally nutty myself Glo

magpie said...

I'm going to give up my share of the bandwidth while I fix dinner.

wvgal_dana said...

Paula when you are making it for yourself. Do you make that much?

Lolly said...

Go to Saline! Quick!

deb said...

What did I miss, Lolly, I see a drill!

wvgal_dana said...

I see a guy with a drill

deb said...

Now there is a person with the drill.

paula eagleholic said...

Dana- you can use 2 cans of the cr of chicken soup instead...and Dana, you can just cut the recipe in half, then you would only need 1 can...it is very good leftover too, as Red said.

T-Bird said...

I know what you mean Magpie.

paula eagleholic said...

1/2 the recipe would fit in one of those nice round corningware bowls...like the 1/2 to 2 quart one.

Lolly said...

I just thought you would like to see Bill and the backyard in daylight. His yard is woods, neighbor houses do not show. He said a little while ago what he was doing but I did not catch it.

paula eagleholic said...

Dana - just use 2 cans of cr of chicken and make 1/2 the recipe...forgot without looking how much soup was in it...you can also add some salsa too...

deb said...

I never get to hear bill's little speeches for some reason. I can hear the animals and everything at night.

paula eagleholic said...

Eagle up, 3 pretty eggs in view

glo said...

sigh

deb said...

Me, too. HUGE sigh!

paula eagleholic said...

Surely would look prettier with an eaglet sleeping on an egg :)

T-Bird said...

I feel the big sigh too. I love our eagles.

NatureNut said...

I caught Bill one PM. He was about to put out eve meal & was looking for missing bowls and a beer can. He set his own beer down on the feeder & climbed over log, went down the hill & retrieved his dish & empty beer can!!

deb said...

Up again

T-Bird said...

I hope you all have a good evening-I'm turning into a lurker.

paula eagleholic said...

Heading out to watch the big game...catch ya'll later!

magpie said...

Halfway thru making dinner...
nice to know you are all taking "good class notes" as Sunny says..

T-Bird - sorry I missed ya'! Hope you are still lurking.

Good Evening Wishes, Everyone ☺

Costume Lady said...

I thought that if I stayed away long enough, there would be a chick or two when I got back:(:(:(:(:(:(

deb said...

Our eagle is wide awake and watching all around.

deb said...

good luck at the game, Paula.

deb said...

We sure wish there was, Wanda.

Costume Lady said...

Whacha fixin, Margy? MARIE fixed our dinner tonight:)

deb said...

Up again!

deb said...

Moving fluff big time

deb said...

Back down

floralgirl said...

All I got a glimpse of was two eggs. Choppy feed.

Costume Lady said...

She is a wonderful cook and I am so glad to have her fix supper after a long day away from home!

deb said...

I didn't get a good look either, Megan. Except to see the head deep in the fluff.

floralgirl said...

Still about 52° here, the wind is still howling, too. From about 10 to 20 mph..

deb said...

My spider web wasn't moving, so it is good to know the wind is blowing. Reloaded live feed.

floralgirl said...

Yep, I'm using the web as a guide again too.

deb said...

It is 10 here, but it is supposed to start warming up after today.

deb said...

-2 tonight, and 31 tomorrow, then up a little each day, 50's this weekend.

deb said...

I am waiting for both hawks to get up so i can count the eggs.

floralgirl said...

We will be in the 40's and 50's the several days with lows around 30°.

deb said...

Only one egg in Tulsa that I could see.

T-Bird said...

Yeah, I'm still lurking Magpie. WVU is winning by 18 at the half. I want to see an egg hatch.

deb said...

I don't think the wind quits blowing in Tulsa.

That's what I want for a forecast, Megan, for the rest of March!

deb said...

Two eggs still in Portland.

NatureNut said...

Just posted last decent pic I took before leaving work.

Gotta eat....
& thanks everyone who emailed pics today ☺

Lolly said...

Just finished dinner. Jack is now building as fire. Ahhhh! We are now up to 2 inches of rain and more to come. So exciting. It has felt soooo cold today...presently 39, but the wind chill is something else!

I had never seen Bill around the feeder. Jack could not figure out what I was watching when he heard the drill. :)

Sigh....Sigh.....Sigh This waiting is getting bad. I know when the eaglet will hatch....tomorrow afternoon. Why?, because we are going to Dallas to babysit. If that will do it, so be it!

floralgirl said...

Eagle is up!

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

What in the world was that? Our eagle just appeared on the edge of the nest!

magpie said...

Owl is at BWO and WHAT in the world was that movement all about at OUR nest

floralgirl said...

Eagle got up off eggs and sat on edge of nest, then got back on eggs.

magpie said...

Sharon !
We had the same reaction !

Lolly said...

I could see two eggs clearly and a third something that was grey. Looked like when she came back to the nest she nudged the third "spot".

hedgie said...

Margy...Dana...Wanda...brush fire--Hammond's Auto Exchange, Falling Waters. Wind still blowing....not a good scene, I'm sure.

Lolly said...

Poop shoot?

magpie said...

Looks the OWL is getting ready for a Poop Shoot, Owl Style - see from the link on that page that he was there this morning too, or maybe a different owl

magpie said...

that would be Tuesday morning, sorry

magpie said...

Like the new avatar, Wanda...
I got behind in posts while I was Over-cooking my chicken...I am not much of a cook, but the mashed potatoes were good

Hedgie You're right, not good, wind is a'howlin'- do you possibly think someone was burning brush in this weather? Get out the ticket book !

magpie said...

Poop Shoot which nest, Lolly ? :)

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Well see, I saw the eagle laying on the eggs one second and then the next shot was at the edge of the nest. I guess it was frozen for a second. Skeered me!

magpie said...

It just looked so weird, Megan...the way she was standing back looking...is it Belle?

Lolly said...

Margy, I was thinking possibly Belle did a poop shoot since she was at the edge of the nest.

magpie said...

Deb I'm glad you are keeping us up with the Egg reports because I am way behind on going around the country checking nests

T- and Norma, glad the 'Eers are delighting you tonight, that's a big lead

magpie said...

Gotcha Lolly - funny because I was thinking the same thing watching that owl! I finally got your pictures in the mail....☺

magpie said...

If I use the slow cooker for soups and stews, then that's another story, and my French Toast is hard to mess up

Lolly said...

Look forward to receiving them, Margy!

magpie said...

I haven't seen our Mits for awhile, or our Mema at all.. Ladies.....are you out there ?

Lolly said...

Bill has a new set up at Saline and a new name The Drunken Kitty Cafe.

magpie said...

Sure sounds cozy in Texas ♥ ♥ and Cold in South Dakota !

magpie said...

How about a couple of Eagles at Sunny Lake Washington ?

Lolly said...

It is very cozy in front of the fire. Wet and cold out! And, I can not even imagine Deb's temp. Brrrr!!!

Jack is in his chair reading and I am in mine with my laptop. Both with our feet up! However, I am about to wreck the peace by turning on Amer. Idol. :)

hedgie said...

Belle's head sure looks fuzzy---guess it's just a wind-blown do!
Time for Criminals Minds...NOTR a repeat!
Sure hope the Home Health folks did right by our Mema---she hasn't been on all day, has she?

Lolly said...

Very peaceful scene at LW, Margy.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Something has our eagle's attention.

deb said...

Did you notice the little bit of white showing under the eagle?

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Now that it is all over, I will report this. My lovely dogs deposited a wonderful footlong dead rodent in my living room floor today. I was held hostage in my room upstairs until a neighbor got home and I got him to get it out. I don't do rodents even if they are dead! It was horrible.

Lolly said...

Is it an egg or egg shell, you think, Deb?

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Well, could that be part of an egg?

deb said...

Foot Long - I wouldn't want to do it either, gross!

I think it is an egg, just never seen it like that before. It would be nice if it was part of a shell, but I didn't see anything the last time we saw the eggs.

deb said...

As often as we've all been fooled this year, I hate to even guess!!

Lolly said...

Yuk!!! Sharon! OMG...do not know what I would have done. One time we had a live mouse...Laurel and I were on top of furniture and I called Jack 25 miles away. ha!

magpie said...

Were you saying "Eeek Eeek" Lolly, like they do in the cartoons ?
I can picture this in my mind...did Jack come home?

magpie said...

Owl is back at BWO

NatureNut said...

I've seen that white before next to eagle. Think it's a foot.

magpie said...

and Lady LW is scootching down into the nest

Lolly said...

Are you kidding?! I got no sympathy! The cat chased the mouse under the sofa and ate it. Jack got to clean up the mess when he got home. And, yes, I imagine we were screaming. ha!

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Good night and sweet eagle dreams, my friends of fine feathers and fur. See you in the morning light!

NatureNut said...

This AM, inadvertantly left Live cam & blog minimized in bottom tray in 'puter. When I got home from work, Live cam was still running!
Sorry if it hogged some bandwith.
Maybe it's beacuse it wasn't up on screen.

hedgie said...

Sharon, do you have a doggy door?? Yuck! I worry about that kind of thing with my daughters' Weimeraner...he chases birds and groundhogs...has killed one groundhog that we know of....but that was before they put in the doggy door, so.....it could happen!!

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Well, all I could do was go upstairs, get all my dogs into one room and shut the door until I could find somebody to get it for me. I can't go around them living or dead! I opened my window and yelled at my neighbor when he got home. Now this is a good neighbor, not Mr. Baltimore!

magpie said...

We just had another egg check

Good Night Sharon
xo ☺ ♥

magpie said...

LW Eagle in nest is really chomping away on something

movin said...

GREAT HORNED OWL is sleeping (?) on the BWO box. Only a few minutes until the camera freezes it on there for the night.

Still no definite sighting of a chick in the Sheptown nest?? Can't see anything in the comments.

Well, I hope we are missing something or they're behind schedule this year for some reason.

God bless you all for watching all this period... and for coming up with the great recipes. (LOL)

I used to love the Tomale Pie they served in the High School Cafeteria.. Anybody got a good, easy recipe for that??

Oh Sharon! What an EEKY experience.
Good thing you kept dogs away. Lord knows what they would have done.

magpie said...

Another Egg Check !

magpie said...

movin said...

Just looked in at Norfolk, which you can see in the night tonight, and everything looks very peaceful.

Remember how scary and violent their season was last year with the intruder and the GHO and everything. It's going the way it should so far this year, tG.

The SD Panda shot looks like an eerie botanical garden on Venus or somewhere tonight.

Paula is seeing one close BB game tonight. Tied at 46 with just 20 some seconds left. Opponent has the ball.

hedgie said...

Jim, think I have a tamale pie recipe...will look and let you know!

movin said...

I missed the turn of the eggs, but it looks like our adult is taking time to preen its backside and its wings now.

I'll have to check the weather, maybe rain tonight.

NatureNut said...

Deb, your pic is showing 3 eggs, I'm afraid. Thx for getting that.

BTW, do eggs hatch at night?? I can't see why they wouldn't. After all, chicks eyes aren't open at first & they're in a nice warm place.

NatureNut said...

GREAT, JO! Pleasant dreams!

paula eagleholic said...

Belle was just up and did a quick roll, couldn't see anything but eagle.

Game was great, but lost by 2 points! Heartbreaking after they led most of the game. Was a hard fought game, 2 best defenses in the league.

paula eagleholic said...

Loretta - chicks can hatch at anytime! Just like egg laying!

Norma- glad your EEERS won! YAY!

Belle has head tucked back, hitting the hay here too.

Hugs to all ♥

Going to put my eggs and pains to bed now:)

GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE

Thx Paula.
Sorry your team lost, but they sure went a log way.

movin said...

GOOD NIGHT to all tired birders this evening. You've earned a good rest.

I think I'll hang a while, maybe something will happen. God knows it's that time.

Trouble is I seem to miss the action most of the time this season...even writing a short comment, and 'OOPS there's been an egg turning!'

Better get back to the cam.

Lolly said...

My turn to say good night to all. Leaving it with you, Jim. Maybe an egg will hatch just for you.

Nite.....sweet dreams.
