I misread the Libby Dam site, they have a box that says 2 eggs spotted in the nest, but the date is blank. Apparently, they are thinking ahead. There is just the one egg in the nest.
We just spotted a huge Hoot Owl in the top of a tree in our woods...went out with the camera, and POOF! I have never seen an owl in the wild, but we hear them quite often...all around us. Now I'm sad:( I'm gonna go pout and watch Survivor...you too, Deb?
Oh Wanda, how neat was that! I hear GHOs & had screech last year, but have never seen them!Vet neighbor across the street has few acres of woods, so we do get a little wildlife in suburbia! He's seen foxes too.
Good evening, Well i have some bad news.We had an eagle shot in green county,it is still alive but will never fly again. It is about 3 1/2 years old and being cared for by a vet.I don't know much more than that. The eagles here are doing ok,i think they have young but i can't tell yet because i haven't seen that little head bob up.I put a link but i don't know if it will work.
I had the GHO sound in My Faves, but I can't find it. Think Cornell has lots of bird sounds. The screech owl I heard sounded like a child or lady screaming for their life--it sounded like it was right next to me! Must have been in tree next door. Altho it was night, I tried to look for a silhouette, but saw nothing.Creepy!
I am not gonna be able to watch our nest in the dark. I will have nightmares for sure!! I am the worst arachnophobe in the world!!
It has been a great day, not as productive as I should have been I reckon but it is what it is. Thank you all so much for the cards and well wishes and all that stuff!!! Wish ya'll could come down for the party Sunday!! (just a tad too far for most I reckon).
Again, thank you all so much!! DON'T FORGET TOMORROW AT 10:00 AM SHARP.....LUNEY!!!!!!!!!!!!
Really!! Isn't it against the law? Such a magnificent creature hurt like that by some idiot!! Bring him to Open House at NCTC and we will take care of him!!!
Good evening everyone. Had a great day at the zoo. Stood and watched Tian for a long time. The baby gorilla held onto it's mom when ever she moved. So sad about the eagle that was shot. How can anyone shoot such a beautiful bird? Hope they catch them. Lynn hope you feel better. Pleasant dreams all.
Too bad about AU...my BFF graduated from there. Ceil and/or Mits...did you get any pics of the baby gorilla? Thanks, Ceil...at least being able to eat w/o pain helps...GOOD nutrition should help the cold!
Lynn MM took pictures but her cam is not digital. He was a cutey. Paula AU did well in the first half They were leading by almost 15 points but lost it the second half. Oh well. It is what it is. Nite again.
I was really wishing someone else had been up in the middle of the night watching the tapestry Spidey was working on...but now that I read some of your comments, I have a feeling NO ONE would have enjoyed it much....
I really kept thinking Belle would hop up and snatch it a couple of times...but, too bad for us, she didn't ! ☺
Well, thanks to Deb, Spidey's handiwork is on a little slideshow on her Nest Pictures... forewarning to faint-hearted. But it is really amazing to see how from 3:48 to 4:03, this little rascal accomplished. Check out the pic from 4:01...it's pretty funny. Thanks so much, Deb ☺
Maybe that is "my sign." Alarm clock will be going off in a little less than five hours, that and a panda nap earlier will have to suffice for work Friday... Well, Spring will give me a Big Boost at 7:44 AM EDT.
Probably missed most. Was writing an email reply to Margy informing me of her upcoming Web show via the generous Deb, & got the BLUE ERROR screen. It said if this is the first time you've seen this screen, to restart. Well, have to turn off power----there's no deskbar to do anything. Don't know if it's dead or not. I'm not turning it on! Am now on old 'puter that works sort of because it's not used much. Maybe other needs a good rest, as do I! Good Night to All & hope Sissy/Bev had a wonderful day!!! Your Special present will appear tomorrow! Hope I can see it at work---Wed. their 'puters had Server Down!!!! It must be contagious!
Hi All! Company is gone, Laurel has headed home and my boys are bathed and in bed. I am really pooped. Had a great evening. Had 5 boys here tonight 12,8,7,4,&3. They had so much fun. The adults ate in but the boys ate on the patio. Earlier in the evening they played outside, after supper they still played outside...running and screaming. Dillon the oldest was chasing and scaring the younger ones. They loved it! The 3 year old was playing quietly inside.
We leave in the morning. I will be back Sunday. Hope to find new eaglets in all the nests when we return!
Wanda, how neat you had an owl! Saw the discussion on the sounds owls make. Screech owls make sort of a whinny sound. I always though they sounded like a horse whinny. The one we have here sound like what you sent out, Deb, but it is softer.
And, it wasn't too long ago that Jack and I heard a GHO. You can not mistake his whoo whoo.
Missed telling all goodnight! Had to take apart a VCR.....needed to tape something for daughter and tape wouldn't eject. It's done this before...so had to open it up and fiddle around to get it out! ARGH! But it's ok now---at least for this time! Had my bath, and now ready to turn in. I will NOT watch the spidey clips...sorry. I said last year that it was that infrared light that not only attracted him but kept him alive in the cold weather...yuck! Prayers and peace.
Spidey! and his d..b webs! I actually got a good look at him last night when he only had a couple of strands up. Looks like a medium size wolf spider to me. I can take or leave spiders ... preferably leave them ... but I really hate that web on the camera.
I think there is a possibility that the heat AND the IR are attracting both Spidey and his prey, so he ends up in front of the lens every year. Some animals can see more of the spectrum than we can, and part of the IR band is in their range.
Anyway, for Norma and other basketball lovers, I found a web service just about like TV and watched much of the UCLA win over Virginia Commonwealth (1 point). It was a very good game, and it was fun to watch it again.
Well I read through comments ... no hatchings I could see. Lynn take care of that cold...good to go see doctor. Sorry you are feeling poorly...glad dentist took care of pain.
Trip to Zoo for Mits, Ceil and MM sounds like it was a lot of fun. Oh my to see the pandas and that baby gorilla. Red pandas they show on that PBS China show. So adorable.
GOOD MORNING EAGLE BUDDIES!!---I am late moving this am!!!----It is a GLORIOUS SUNNY am here in WILD & WONDERFUL WV!!!---"HOME OF THE BELLE & LIBERTY FAMILY---PLUS 1'LITTLE ONE' & 1 MOUNTAINEER EGG!!-----WV MOUNTAINEERS PLAY TODAY!!! poof one
off to fix, dinner..bbl.
Spidey is really gonna mess up the view tonight.
That baby is going to be spoiled AND fat and sassy! I hope it doesn't sadden us by being an only chick.
I misread the Libby Dam site, they have a box that says 2 eggs spotted in the nest, but the date is blank. Apparently, they are thinking ahead. There is just the one egg in the nest.
Both again.
Hi, Wanda!
poof
Wow, NBG looks celestial!
Both eagles at LW
Looks like ice on the cam at NBG, but it is probably just water drops. Too bad it blocks the eagle view.
We just spotted a huge Hoot Owl in the top of a tree in our woods...went out with the camera, and POOF! I have never seen an owl in the wild, but we hear them quite often...all around us. Now I'm sad:( I'm gonna go pout and watch Survivor...you too, Deb?
They zoomed in at NBG awhile ago & the raindrops became round, glassy ornaments & then you could see the adult.
SISSY, BETTER LATE THAN NEVER....
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO A SWEET SOUTHERN GIRL. AND CAPT. GENE SAYS "HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, SASSY":)
Now, you will really pout, Wanda, no Survivor until next Wednesday!
Oh Wanda, how neat was that! I hear GHOs & had screech last year, but have never seen them!Vet neighbor across the street has few acres of woods, so we do get a little wildlife in suburbia! He's seen foxes too.
POUT, POUT...no Survivor. Basketball:(:(
Do you know what kind of owl it was, Wanda?
Deb, Gene said it was a Hoot Owl...I am not very well versed on owls, but it was HUGE!
Boy, that spiderweb is really annoying....
don't all owls ...hoot?
No, screech owls screech.
Helen, some screech:)
never have heard either:(
Gene said that it is actually a Great Horned Owl...we WVirginian's call them Hoot Owls.
that little varmint....messing up the cam like that....
I grew up in the city, I knew some old "coots":)
Horned Owl is 20" high and has a 55" wing span. Pretty big bird.
LOL, Helen, we have some of those too;)
yes, sorry we did not get to the bird house today at the zoo.
feeding at Caltrans
Great Horned Owl
BWE chicks, sleeping from under mom again.
Eastern Screech Owl
darn sounds aren't coming thru for me.

Indiana Nesting Eagles----Dave
Try this one from the Cornell site:
GHOW
I had the GHO sound in My Faves, but I can't find it. Think Cornell has lots of bird sounds.
The screech owl I heard sounded like a child or lady screaming for their life--it sounded like it was right next to me! Must have been in tree next door. Altho it was night, I tried to look for a silhouette, but saw nothing.Creepy!
That is sad, Dave. At least, the eagle has been saved, but sure wish it was releasable. Do you have goose hunting going on?
I am not gonna be able to watch our nest in the dark. I will have nightmares for sure!! I am the worst arachnophobe in the world!!
It has been a great day, not as productive as I should have been I reckon but it is what it is. Thank you all so much for the cards and well wishes and all that stuff!!! Wish ya'll could come down for the party Sunday!! (just a tad too far for most I reckon).

Oh Dave! That is awful. I wish they could catch those lowlifes & lock them up forever. Or at least never permit them gun access anymore!
cool Deb, reminds me of Halloween
string that bad guy up, Dave....what idiot would shot an eagle:(
From the sounds of the article, it was probably deliberate, which makes it even worse!
Four eggs in San Jose falcon nest, two eagles in LW.
Really!! Isn't it against the law? Such a magnificent creature hurt like that by some idiot!! Bring him to Open House at NCTC and we will take care of him!!!
aww the look on that poor eagles' eyes, sad:(
Re: owls.....I posted several weeks ago that only the Great Horned Owls make the Who-Who-WHo-o-o sound!
The barred owl does a couple Whoos, but his usual line sounds like "Who cooks for you"! Neat, huh?
Speaking of that, I gotta do some KP!
What a sad story, Dave.
Sissy, I am the worst arachnophobe in the world!!!I will not watch it at night, either!
interesting comments below the story too.
Man o mighty, check out that web!
I need a haircut too.
Oh American U just lost to Villanova. Son went to American U.
darn was rooting for AU.:(
good night everyone.
Good evening all my eagle buddies!
Aww, rats for AU!
Too bad about AU...my BFF graduated from there.
Ceil and/or Mits...did you get any pics of the baby gorilla?
Thanks, Ceil...at least being able to eat w/o pain helps...GOOD nutrition should help the cold!
Coming home to see the "rib cage" at our nest..and to catch up with all the Nest and Cam and Momsters/Dadsters news
Already read the sad piece posted by Indiana Dave
Always said, we don't need any overseas terrorists...we have enough insanity right here
And one last
Happy Birthday to Sissy
if you are still lurking, "old lady."
☺ xo ♥
(Takes one to know one, you know...)
Late evening hello and a
Good Night To All
Prayers for All
(((hugs))) ♥
It is ok we only have 1 eaglet!
I was an only child and didn't turn out
too badly! He will do just great!
Oh, I can relate...a camera that is not digital...☺ or it :(
Well, thanks to Deb, Spidey's handiwork is on a little slideshow on her Nest Pictures... forewarning to faint-hearted.
But it is really amazing to see how from 3:48 to 4:03, this little rascal accomplished.
Check out the pic from 4:01...it's pretty funny.
Thanks so much, Deb ☺
And just think, he might be back tonight! I sent a picture to Steve, who said he thinks Spidey is attracted to the infrared light.
Your welcome, Margy, glad to help out.
Eagle at LW
I know bedtime will start striking here soon, so Good Night in advance to those heading for the Feather Pillows...
(Aaargh, LW didn't open for me, will have to try it again)
Please try to find some Red to wear Friday to honor our Military men and women...
God Bless Us, Every One
Prayers for Wellness....
Do you use Critterzoom or the Wildwatch link, Margy?
Usually Critterzoom, Deb.
Maybe because JO went to bed it won't open for me ☺
I'll try Wildwatch next, I still have that from last year....
Neat slidshow, Deb and Margy...unique. Looks like a photo contest winner:)
GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE
SWEET DREAMS
PRAYERS FOR ALL
I always use Wildwatch, Critterzoom is very unreliable.
Went to wildwatch live streaming cam for LW, and it said Connecting to Media, but it didn't :(
Critterzoom said Webpage cannot be found...that happens every few days, like when Jo was in the Hospital!
Maybe that is "my sign." Alarm clock will be going off in a little less than five hours, that and a panda nap earlier will have to suffice for work Friday...
Well, Spring will give me a Big Boost at 7:44 AM EDT.
Thanks again, Deb
Thanks, Wanda, you are kind! ☺
and Good Night Everyone!
Peace, Love and Prayers xo ♥
Eagle is nestorating right now, only see the one. I am heading for bed also. I have to be ready for Prairie Chicken search at 6:45 in the morning.
Eagle on branch now.
Our eagle is up.

Great slideshow Margy and Deb. I hate spiders, but am not afraid of the one on our cam! Only afraid of ones closer!
Deb - fed your hamster...he's cute!

His web looks something like a waffle iron... or one of those George Foreman grills ... tonight.
I think we need a can of Raid and a long pole to clear him out of there. Hahaha.
