I checked out Sherri's pics from her 7:05am capture today....pics 1 and 4....we still have 3 eggs. People have noted a black spot or two on an egg over the past couple of days...I am wondering if we have grass stuck to the egg...I surely hope it is not where the chick started hatching over the past couple of days, because the chick should have been out by now.
Do these two have a lcue what they are doing to us. Be sure now each time you get up to tend to the ?eggs? you keep your back to the cam and cover as much viewing area of the ?eggs? as possible. LOL
Yes Jim on my blog page for "NEST OF LIBERTY AND BELLE". I am new at Picasa and I don't know how to get it where you click on my picture and it enlarges. If anyone knows please tell me or email me. Thank you.
Don't know, Paula, if Wanda HAD the wishing well, but someone on her road wrote in asking that it be returned (fat chance), no questions asked . Have to think "who would have an eagle on their wishing well on that road?" Our Wanda!
Well on the same thought process that I think it was Dana mentioned last night...when this little one is seen..I think we need to name it Lou or LuLu and we all know why. I think she would absolutely love it :) JMHO.
Paula I resized the picture on Picasa. Made it larger just what I wanted. Is there a botton on Picasa to keep that resized picture. Or are you saying hit the blog botton on Picasa and when I get to the blog resize it there?
GOOD MORNING EAGLE BUDDIES----Thanks STEVE-----CONGRATS!!!MEGAN---Our #1 'COUNT DOWN PERSON' --- today & every day!!!----Beautiful weather here too---temp 62°---I think it's a GOOD DAY for 'BIRTHIN' BABIES'!!!!----MORNIN' JO---MEGAN----VICKY---PAULA---HEDGIE---PAULA---MOVIN'JIM & GLO!!!!!---WHO IS BOILING WATER??---WHOA!---It's going to be a GOOD DAY in our neighborhood!!
Dana, you have to resize it before you put it on the blog...don't know if Picasa will save it larger or not....check the help section....I can't bring it up right now to check...
Have to go to work for awhile today, heading off to take a shower and head to work...will check in later!
Hello Again Everyone! Hello Geula, from WAY across the ponds! Was wondering if you could see anything. See you are having same problems we are. I usually have both cams open & can switch to see what's correct pic. Jim, you are up too early!
Yep mentioned yesterday if we get a hatch to call it "loo" or "lou" or "lu" would be great to me. I too think the person would know why. lol sure don't want to call it "poop shoot" which that person is also famous by photographer Todd. lol
Someone earlier mentioned enlarging the cam (we're looking at). If I double-click, neither Still or Live enlarge. I used to get Pop Up to enlarge, but nothing opens there anymore.
Morning everyone. Glad to hear the freeze up isn't just my computer. No chicks yet, bu I'll check in from time to time. When I checked the BW eagle cam earlier, Mamma was sitting in such a way to make those rabbit legs look like part of her.
Nature Nut don't double click.. right click and choose Zoom in. Don't get larger picture but do get more of a close up and can move around . Too bad you can't move the bird around too LOL>
Will be off and on here today. Making arrangements to have GeeGee's wind blown roof shingles replaced.
No eagle, topped wishing well here. Our neighbor who lives in the first house after you turn onto our road (to the left) has many eagle features in his yard, so it may be he who had the wishing well. Haven't read the paper yet.
I don't know how to help Dana with her problem of enlarging a photo and having it show that way on her blog. I haven't given it much thought, but I think the photos that I put on my blog from my camera, can be enlarged once you get to my blog...but ones that I have "saved" off of here, does not enlarge on my blog. I know COSTUMES but not COMPUTERS:)
Good morning! Checked in earlier to see if there was any action. Then left to wash my hair. Back now to learn about right click...zoom and move! Well, duh! Where have I been? LOL
Off to a slow start this morning. Going wine tasting and that does not start at the wineries till late morning.
I want to wish everyone a most glorious weekend. It is the weekend, right? LOL I loose track very easily!
Thanks Glo. I think Belle looks much bigger. Gonna keep it on & have camera ready to hopefully get a good cloe shot. Of course, I won't be sitting in front of screen all day! Someone may have to holler! Hope MKema JUo gets home today!! ☺

I think I might have this hatching of Belle's figured out. The chick inside that egg knows Mema Jo isn't here to be watching. So Mema Jo comes home today. Easy chick hatches. Whatever egg hatches 1st in our nest I'm calling in Lu "for someone's loo". Later if I find it to be a boy it will be "Lou".
OK, keep your eyes peeled, those of you who are staying inside- just got back from getting eggs and ground beef. Too nice for this chick to stay inside and watch for that chick- off to sow seeds. What a gorgeous day! Glo- I sent you an email.
Hi everyone. I am at work using the computer. Just wanted to say hello and belated birthday wishes to Sharon and Danielle and wishing Jo all the best with her leg. Helen has kept me informed on the nests. Have a great day.
Hi, Ceil! We miss you! You are giving retirement a bad name, you know!!! And on Sat. no less!! LOL! Mits said tech comes Weds...? Will be so glad when you are up and running!
Good Morning, Lolly...it is a beautiful day here in Martinsburg/Shepherdstown...67°. Perfect day for a hatching:)
Glo, I put a comment on your photo gallery as to my opinion of the judges opinion. DO NOT AGREE WITH THE HIGH SCORE GIVEN TO THE BUTTERFLY PHOTOS. Anybody can take a photo of a butterfly sitting on a flowet, but how many can photo an eagle in the midst of catching and flying away with a fish! JMHO
Egg was laid on Jan. 31st around 2 something AM. So Lisa of BW said for her. If laid in early AM before noon she counts that day. So we would be at day 36...with probably grass that looks like a hole. Or if counted day the egg was laid then we are at day 35 with grass on egg that looks like hole.
MORNIN' LOLLY!----a wine tasting today!!----OH MY!--You two go to the nicest places!!-----this is almost up there with your home-made bread & sausage!!!--ho!----HAVE FUN!!
LOL Wanda Thanks. True it is much harder to film the rapid motion and that eagle snuck up on those geese or they wouldn't have been sitting still enough to capture that either. Judges did agree it was a "Moment in time" for sure.
Those photos are Jan, Feb and March best of the best for this yearfor my group which is B. So I wasn't in competition with the firt few..they are previous months winners. The last 3 though including the butterfly were from Thurs night. Points given however go for the whole year so in a way yes I am also being judged in relation to the other photos like that bridge in black and white with the way they caught the lighting.
Its fun I love it and I am happy enough given how tough those judges were that night. I am also learning lots. Thanks for looking and even leaving a comment.
Wow just went to read those comments on the cam club gallery. You all are giving those judges something to think about.Which is good This months judges did overall give out much lower points than last month. I missed Jan entries and critiques as had to leave early for work and had no entries that month. I appreciate all your input and your wording is very thoughtful and precise. Judges also have something to learn about being objective with other folks work. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and each of them know what they are looking for as far as beauty. The judges are all long time professional photographers.
I am actually very happy and have another egg in the basket I hope as far as that photo is concerned MTBR.
OSPREY News Flash. Just saw email that first osprey was seen at Patuxent River Park yesterday on it's platform!!I was hoping they would wait til after the bad weather! Can't wait to go there TU! Film at 11!! ☺
that is fantastic news, Loretta, can't wait to see the beautiful osprey.....just found out that there is an osprey nest at a restaurant that we have gone to down the beach, they have a duck feeding at one every day...osprey have been coming for 20 years or so, did not nest last year due to construction of condos on the bay side.
Lolly, when you get back on, remebered that we visited the Wildseed place a few years ago!It was beautiful. Think I got a lovely T-shirt there w/bluebonnets on it! I'm really enjoying your trip!!! ☺
Hi Loretta! Wish you were here and I know your daughter does as well! When you come back to visit her, you will have to get the directions to the eagle nest.
JO just called, she is being released some time today, they are getting paper work done, been walking with walker, has to put full weight on the leg...it is thick gauze and ace bandage, no cast....said she would try to get on for awhile later, when she gets home, sure she will. wanted to be sure you all knew about the new grand baby, and everything going well there....I'm sure I'm forgetting something, oh, she is not in pain, but still taking meds for it, she sounds good. What a nice day to come home.
Hi Lol, daughter & SIL sent me eagle nest pics a few yrs agp. Was just looking at them in 'puter.Think they were from near Llano--have to ask.Eagles leave the area early, right? Sort of migrate away from hot weather. I've been Googling to see if there are eagles in Greece. Can't find anything yet. They show mostly bird books that you can buy, written in Greek!!!It's hot there too, so guess if any do nest, they would move on later also.
I just talked to Mema Jo. She is excited about getting to go home today. I think she has to eat lunch before she leaves and they are having to give her meds for blood sugar control. Between the prednisone and the injury, I think it has been up some. She sounds wonderful. I told I was disappointed that no egg hatched on my birthday but tickled because we have a new baby on it!! YEAH!
I have been frozen out for at least 45 min------DRIVES ME NUTS! LOLLY & JACK out tasting wine & I can't even get back on the blog!!!----Maybe I should taste some of my wine to see if it's still good!!-- ho!
Back from my shopping. Great to read MeMa Jo is coming home...also glad newest member of her family has also arrived. But her name sake sorta LOL still has not been seen. I work the overnight tonight and it is a rainy stormy day. Thinkits gonna be a good day for a nice long anp. Hopefully I can see an eaglet before my nap or before I leave for work.
Yes Dana We are expecting heavy rain today and tomorrow, storms etc. Not too good with snow melt river levels and still some frozen ground. Have Flash Flood watch in effect till like noon or 6 pm tomorrow.
Have you taken a look at the new Kent camera on critterzoom.com??
It sort of looks like they might get a nest built this year now. It will be a lot smaller than I remember it, but it could be of minimum necessary size before long.
I think it is due to be a lot warmer in Shepherdstown today than in Santa Ana, and maybe that accounts for it, but does it look to you like Belle is setting higher and lighter in the nest than usual?? Like maybe one of the eggs has begun to hatch??
03/07/09: Due to more daylight, we need to adjust our image times so we don't exceed our satellite dish traffic limits. This relates to individual images sent from the field - not how many people watch.
We're now setting the Osprey Cam at 45-second updates, and the operating hours at 4am to 10pm.
she has a son Michael, believe I met him at the zoo when they came last year, thinking he is grandad to girls in Germany. She needs to post her family tree.
Great news on Jo's Grandbaby & she Is coming home today! I saw that white thing above the tail. Looked too big to be shell. Think Lib brought take out lunch? LOL Thx, Megan & Dana for new pics. Gonna check Glo's album
Meant that i didn't know if Jenny had others...think Jo has 5 doesn't she?
Mits....saw an item on the news last night that showed Giffords in Bethesda....didn't know they were still in business...we always went to the one in Bailey's Crossroads...wonder if it's still there! Yummmmm!
Had seen Glo's Glimpses the other day. Read something about contest choices of butterflies & thought they had been posted somewhere. Guess that had just been written about. Flying birds are the most difficult to get! Some butterflies sit still whil sipping nectar & you can get close.
Speaking of flowers earlier, (someone mentioned tulips). I have been keeping count of little sprouting leaves & before the snow I had counted 14!!Checked this AM & where there had been 2 large ones together, there was only 1! small hole in ground, that my fingers disappeared into. Bulbs must have been eaten!Touched the leaves that were left & they had been chopped at the base & pulled right out of the ground!!!!I suspect mole, but didn't see raised tunnel real closeby. I'm on the warpath, but Fubby said I can't watch them all day! Count is down to 11---aarrgghh!!!
Hi all! Just checking in, see there is no action in the nest.
Norma....sorry you are having frustrating computer problems while we are having fun. We have been to two wineries. Spent a long time at the last one. The guy pouring for us was a Ga.Tech graduate, so he and Jack had stories to swap. It was fun! and, who complains, we got extra tastings. ha!
We came back for lunch and will head back out shortly.
Hi, Sissy! Can truthfully--and gratefully--say that it's hot here! And from what I can hear on the scanner, there are lots of brushfires.....bunch of dummies around here....brisk breeze and fire rule is for burning AFTER 5pm...argh! # intact eggs....Paula has last roll video on her blog....the watch continues!
WELCOME BACK TO THE FOLD, MEMA JO!!!! We have missed you! So glad you are back. What a beautiful new ggs!!!! How are you feeling, dear lady? Chick has been waiting for you before making an entrance!!!
WELCOME HOME, JO!! You know we have missed you so much. One would think you had been gone a year;) It just is not the samw without you. We all love you like a sister...OK, we ARE SISTERS. TAke it easy and blog a lot!!
Let my fingers do the walking & found an eagle in Greece---Short-tailed Eagle. Put some info & pics from Wikipedia on Blog. Now we better go!Am more inspired now, as I was a little anxious about hoofing around by myself for first 3 days while daughter is working.

I don't know!! deep nest cup is great for eggs and eaglets but tough for cam viewers...
Nest sitter is going to get a severe "crick" in it's neck...wonder what the attraction is off to the left?
Yes, Steve, we are surely on Chick Watch!!
Wanda, are you on yet? Did your eagle-topped wishing well get stolen???? Journal Junction item in paper today.....????????
Wanda has an eagle wishing well? Where's the pic, Wanda? :):)
That is, if it wasn't stolen!
Nothing new on Buddy yet, but there is an update on the other eagles being treated at the center.

Jim
Up and moving a stick...back to cam...could see one egg
Nice wiggle onto eggs.
Morning, Jim! Did you sleep at all last night?
Do these two have a lcue what they are doing to us. Be sure now each time you get up to tend to the ?eggs? you keep your back to the cam and cover as much viewing area of the ?eggs? as possible. LOL
Sure looks like BW got the word on everyones concern over the amount of food being brought to the nest last year.
Like I said Glo, next season, we want the cam on the either end of the nest...but they'll probably know that and still keep the eggs out of view, LOL!
Good Morning Eagleland over from other thread.
Yes Jim on my blog page for "NEST OF LIBERTY AND BELLE". I am new at Picasa and I don't know how to get it where you click on my picture and it enlarges. If anyone knows please tell me or email me. Thank you.
Dad sure is doing a fine job, remnants of 3 different prey, rabbit, fish and bird.
Chicks in view!
Brought this over from other thread:
Did anyone know about that Atlanta put a picture up of Xi Lan
and you could submitt a "caption"??
Thursday, March 5
Holy Bologna did we get a lot of caption entries! We picked two captions
because they were both so cute and original.
Thanks for submitting!
The BIG day is approaching! Is there a RealPlayer linl for the cam because I'm out of luck on the live cam...stuck/stuck/stuck!
Dana, you have to resize the picture, then post it, if you want it bigger on your blog.
Nope Geula, this is it. It freezes for everyone!
Don't know, Paula, if Wanda HAD the wishing well, but someone on her road wrote in asking that it be returned (fat chance), no questions asked . Have to think "who would have an eagle on their wishing well on that road?" Our Wanda!
Yes, Paula, I did get a few hours last night, but I was really hoping to get some more. Doesn't look like it will happen at this time though.
BWE has been up and off the chicks several times lately... wonder what that is.
How are you folks doing?
C(°ٿ°)D
Jim
I did that I had it all nice and resized (larger to see dark spot). They must have a botton somewhere to save that resized picture???
but it never UNFREEZES, or so it seems...very frustrating
Bwaaaaaah!

Lovely morning HELEN!!!---
I think I might have this hatching of Belle's figured out.
Glad you didn't get robbed Wanda! Is that the place w/ all of the large, strange metal artwork?
WHOA -- NATURENUT!---No one notices misspelled words-----We are human-!!!!----ho!

Hi, Ceil! We miss you! You are giving retirement a bad name, you know!!! And on Sat. no less!! LOL!

My goodness, I am really grouchy today...maybe I need some fresh air:)

I am out of here. Bye.
Norma, I am not working hard. Just trying to help out. Have a great day.
Dana, that is the way I have counted...only 2 hrs. into the 31st...so yesterday was day 35.
I agree with you Wanda about the judges and the butterlfies as opposed to eagles in motion!
later Ceil:)
LOL Norma, relayed your message to Jack. He smiled!
Wanda...so glad you all of having great weather. Bout time!
It is 70 here and windy! I expect to go home and my tulips will be in bloom. Laurel already had a couple open.
Just saw Lady BW off the nest! That was a first for me, since we have been going and doing. The eaglets are so cute...all eyes!
She is still off the nest. Snow White and Frosty seem to be growing just fine! Great parents!
Hey Ceil! Great to see you this morning! You have been missed! Don't work too hard and have a great day!
Off to dry and "fix" my hair!

I am off of this for a while. Have serious business to attend...wine tasting!
Come on little easglet....we are waiting and not very patiently!
I sent out a pic- if I missed anyone, sorry, I gotta get back to work...
lORETTA......probably the same nest. The nest we were watching is on hwy 29 between Llano and Burnet.
YEAH!
Click on my name to see blog picture of 3 eggs
ONG look at the wingspan!
Of course, the live feed is frozend solid here!
Had wings covering the whole 30 second pic! Not sure if we had a switch or not, or eagle was just flapping
That Mits and Sharon for info on Mema Jo and what a nice size boy baby great grandchild ( :

Thanks for sending around the picture Megan.
GLO are they calling for rain tomorrow in your area?
Nice egg was showing on live feed zoomed in.
Yes Dana We are expecting heavy rain today and tomorrow, storms etc. Not too good with snow melt river levels and still some frozen ground. Have Flash Flood watch in effect till like noon or 6 pm tomorrow.
Both adults and both chicks are visible on BWE now.

Okay, got through M0omsters mail, and got the scoop on the baby!!
Is Jenny Melissa's mom?
If I remember correctly Lynn Jenny is Aaron's Mother.
Have you taken a look at the new Kent camera on critterzoom.com??
It sort of looks like they might get a nest built this year now. It will be a lot smaller than I remember it, but it could be of minimum necessary size before long.
Think I'll put a bluie-clickie link below:
Temporary Kent cam

So glad Ceil is back with us, if only for a moment:)
We know Jo will be on this blog before the night is over! Then we will all rest well tonight:)
Yes, Aaron is Jenny's son...don't know if she has other children or not.
I think it is due to be a lot warmer in Shepherdstown today than in Santa Ana, and maybe that accounts for it, but does it look to you like Belle is setting higher and lighter in the nest than usual?? Like maybe one of the eggs has begun to hatch??

Haven't been seeing much of ZZ lately [she's been separated from Bai Yun now], but she just popped up on C27 in closeup in her tree branches...
Now she's doing her 'walk about.'

BWO update
03/07/09:
Due to more daylight, we need to adjust our image times so we don't exceed our satellite dish traffic limits. This relates to individual images sent from the field - not how many people watch.
We're now setting the Osprey Cam at 45-second updates, and the operating hours at 4am to 10pm.
Something pretty white to the left of our eagle, not sure what it is...
egg shell???:)
Yes, knew that Aaron was Jennifer's...can't recall any mention of others or not.
Jim, Kent nest does need work...very small!!
BWE chicklet are snoozing with one laying on the other...parent sitting on the right
I'm watching that, too, Paula....wondering if it's a piece of shell....mtbr!
she has a son Michael, believe I met him at the zoo when they came last year, thinking he is grandad to girls in Germany. She needs to post her family tree.
Wish to goodness she would move out of the way!
its like a smorgasbord at BWE
Try right click choose show all. Then left click on the bird and see what happens. Just a thought before my nap because I need some sleep. LOL
did that it made the pic smaller.
nORFOLK is up, stretching her wings, rolling eggs, picking stuff out of the egg bowl area......

Great news on Jo's Grandbaby & she Is coming home today!
I saw that white thing above the tail. Looked too big to be shell. Think Lib brought take out lunch? LOL
Thx, Megan & Dana for new pics.
Yummmmm!
The white item to Belle's left does not look like egg shell to me ... probably with turn out to be a Sycamore leaf, I think.

Maybe it's part of that old corncob..
Jim its something. I've been watching it.
I dont think we will know until she stands up again
Had seen Glo's Glimpses the other day. Read something about contest choices of butterflies & thought they had been posted somewhere. Guess that had just been written about.
Flying birds are the most difficult to get! Some butterflies sit still whil sipping nectar & you can get close.
I guess Jo is still in the hospital and didnt go home. I just got an email from the florest delivery that her flowers were delivered.
Anne - she's going home today, just not sure what time...
BWE has been off the chicks for quite awhile now...
Sgt. Patrick is Jo's granddaughter Christine husband they are the ones in Germany.
Hedgesville crew Jo's granddaughter Melissa Jo newborn baby boy 3/6 she also has other children.
Jo has what 2 or 3 daughters I remember her saying. They fixed her flowers on porch in pots.
Remember she has said son is brining child for play date (maybe that is son Michael).
Remember Stg. Ryan is Jo's from siser-in-law which would mean Jo has a brother.
Egg roll, all 3 eggs clearly whole!
Just caught her standing, but sat down before I could save pic.Saw eggs.
I just saw three eggs!
Loretta, my mother has had deer to pull her tulips right up out of the ground...so many destructive critters out there!
Loretta....I would be on the warpath, too! How dare something it your tulip bulb!
make that "eat".
My daffs are up and blooming. I have them in pots lining the walk way into the house.
I dont have deer, they are down by the American River but I do get turkeys once in a while. they are really hard on the landscape.
I thought I saw a chick??????
I am going to take a break and clean the kitchen. BBL

Heading back out for more WINE Lolly?;)
