You all take care - watch your step with that fancy dancing!
Just watched the NBG Feeding Video.. looked a little one-sided didn't it?
Remember the scenario in Our Nest Three years ago, when it was Feed the two bigger ones until they were so full they could hardly move, then the baby got a nice meal...
Field Trip to Swinging Bridge SAW Downy Woodpecker Hairy Woodpecker (female) Red-Bellied Woodpecker (male) Pileated Woodpecker Black-capped chickadee Red-Winged Blackbird Pair of Mallard Ducks ( ♀and ♂ ) Muskrat Carp, a convention, (might have been a mating event going on....several smaller ones hovered around a larger one) Heard: Carolina Wren, Tifted Titmouse, Spring Peepers! Saw AND Heard: One fully adult Redneck driving a loud pick-up truck who thought it was COOL to lay a patch, about three times near the bridge !
On the way out, saw a turkey fly across the road and roost in a tree, was a Nice Hen! then it flew off again.
Sure glad I heard that little voice of Jo's (or was it that giraffe) telling me to GET OUT! I also saw one bird I am still trying to identify...
Well, I've heard lots of rednecks, must be their migration season.. but I haven't heard any phoebes yet... carolina wrens are busy filling up birdhouse gourd I hung up on deck, may be a battle when the hummers get here. I usually hang a feeder right by the deck.
Megan - I was hoping to at least hear the Towhee, and wandered pretty far hoping to see them if I heard them, no luck.
How could I leave this out:
Hundreds of Baby Bluebells, waiting to push up further out of the ground! Saw this last year, the leaves are a dark purple underneath, I will return in a few days and check the progress! I was very happy to see these !
I was watching Betty the Owl earlier and trying to read their chat room, they seemed to be talking about an owlet pushed out of some nest, don't know if it was this nest or some other one.
Megan - When they open up in this particular spot, it is beyond belief! Have another place I check that gets Larkspur... ☺ I love this time of year, I really start to come alive again !
Got larkspur sprouting in the GH. Had a pileated out back of Gh today, tapping on an old stump we left there for woodpeckers. Took me a while to figure out where the noise was coming from.
no night light still at NBG, but they have it close enough to the nest, you can see eagles' white head, moving back and forth, may have just been another feeding
Remember the song, kind of like a girl scout song, "If I were a Baby Owlet..." I cannot find it on Google, and cannot really remember many of the words....
Both eagles in HI, eagle in LW is sitting up, one heron looks like it is laying in the nest. Our eagle is still awake. I am off to watch Dancing in speed motion.

"Til my wings were strong and steady" part of your song, too, Margy? I searched, too, and that came up with the lines you had, but nothing else...it was someone's search for the song.
Margy, I have a patch of those very bluebelles you saw today. Got them from Swangin Bradge, probably 30 years ago. Also some Trout Lillies and Wild Larkspur.
We have a pair of Phoebes that builds their nest under our deck...sweet little birds:)
Hello Berkeley County Ladies...some of them anyway...
Hey! When the Waxwings and Indigo Buntings return to Swinging Bridge....we can make a field trip! Remember, I have seen an Osprey there, also Baltimore Oriole, Scarlet Tanager, Green Heron and a few other specialties...☺
My sister gave me some Forget-me-nots from Massachusetts and they took off like crazy, only problem is that I moved and they didn't :( so she sent me some seeds the next year and they have done famously!
GeeGee has forget-me-nots in her flower garden and veg. garden and grass and in every little nook and cranny of her property. She thinks they are a nuisance and I love them.
I tried Butterfly weed once too, but it also failed...But I know where to find them! DNR is kinda touchy about those things, can see the headlines now: Old Lady arrested for possession of contraband...wild flowers!
And wild red columbine....comes out around the first week of May, on the road TO Swinging Bridge.... that is also one place I saw the Scarlet Tanager one year, and it was an "Orange Variant" - oooh, exquisite !
Margie, do you plan on going to Loretta's Park when we go? We will try to choose a day when most of us will be free. Have to check in with Loretta once again.
Wanda ! Yes I sure do. I will get my April schedule soon. Loretta posted that the pontoon boats usually start operating in May, if we think we can wait that long! Sounds like there is plenty to see, including the Visitors Center, regardless of the boat option...
They will not be surprised if Redoubt blows again, Wanda, so don't clean up the ash yet. I wish we could see if any of the top of the volcano is gone, but it is still covered with ash/clouds.
Nighty nite! Pleasant Eaglet Feather Dreams! Margy, I liked your field trip!Reminds me to check the Bluebell area at Park. they grow along edge of little road/path to the Rural Museums. We are supposed to take 1/2 break--we aren't paid for lunch, but I never do--always eat at desk & deal w/whatever.
I'll have the pea soup and some of that toasted cheese bread, too.
Margy - love doing everything online, banking, bills, etc.
Wanda - would love to go down to Loretta's - just don't make it a Thursday!
That's all from here tonight...went to son's tonight to deliver moving boxes, they are moving in a week!! I think if you go into an area that is a certain number of feet off the main road and it is not private property...you can gather wild flowers, just not endagered species. That use to be the law, I don't know about now. Gathering wild flowers use to be my favorite passtime. I love the wild ferns and have many of them.
You are right, Megan, about leaving the wild flowers for others to enjoy and that had always been my practice. If there was a large patch of flowers, I would take two and never if only a few. I told myself...I said "self" those flowers need to bre thinned out;)

Oh NO NO do not take the "Lady Slipper" please. I didn't mean the endanger ones...sorry should have explained.
I once had 5 acres and loved back then I could walk all the way down to the stream. All kinds of beautiful wild flowers. I just think the "Lady Slipper" was always a favorite of mine. Exquisite flower God planted.
I was with a person once that took a "Lady Slipper". I was so saddened to watch it died. She did everything to keep it alive. That was a "fast trip to learning" not to take those flowers.
I did enjoy the once I had on the 5 acres. Seem like they were always near a fallen tree.
Hi Helen, Dana and of course, Hello Sissy and Sharon:) Lady slippers do not transplant. When I lived in NH, they were all throught the woods, so beautiful. Temps are warming up in GH- gonna go take cuttings, have a great day, the sun is shining here!
Regarding Lady's Slippers, Norma, do you mean the Pink Ones?
I have seen quite a lot of them, only one Yellow one, and never have seen the Showy Lady's Slipper, except in my Wildflower Books! They all look about the same except in color but most books insist on calling the Pink ones Mocassin flowers :(
Have a good friend who had them on his property and he invited me to take a few...still they were wild and I do agree, it is a no-no - but I did, and it was not successful, well the leaves came up but no flowers.
Too funny! My Audobon clock is chirping Ten with the titmouse, , and the titmouse outside is answering back ♪ ♫ (not really, but I hear them both at the same time ☺ )
I had it up for awhile at First Light and it was okay then but I shut it down when I left the computer thought I would save you all some "Bandwidth" - see that it helped lot ☺
Dana, I did a system restore, but bookmarked osprey cams did not come back, but went to beakspeak and other places and have all of them back in new folder.

Good morning everyone! I slept late...9, 10 for most of you! Have read the paper and been watching cams.
Megan.......I love the bush cam, I have it up and running. Cool!
Need to go eat, have a lot to do today and I am really running behind, but that is okay! Just wanted to say "Good morning, and have a great day. 71 here, possible chance of thunder storms.
Well guess I am both glad and yet sad to see that others can not enjoy the live feed really at all this year. I don't open mine anymore either. I don't think this is bandwith when none of the regulars are even trying to watch. The forum that never sleeps isn't posting live videos to share either. I am very discouraged by not being able to enjoy the cam I learned to love so much.
I don't watch any of the other animal cams on any regular basis and so many have learned and share there pictures and videos from other eagle cams that with a little hunting etc we can all keep up on every eagle cam and the happenings there.
Nice weather is coming and I will be outdoors enjoying it not sitting here watching the cams, or reading every post ont he blog, as most don't really pertain to NCTC anymore anyway.
Eagle cams changed my life for several years and that was all great. Time for a different change in focus now but I will be around most likely daily and go places like each of you to see whats happening.
Still little ones busting out all over. It is an awesome time in the eagle world when we can see, hear and enjoy.
Ok, now it is time for me to post about the cam I guess. I do keep mine up to watch whenever I am at the computer. It may not be a live feed at all times but I still get to see Hidey being fed and watch that long neck poke up out of the egg well. I guess I am just willing to watch whatever I can watch whenever I can watch it. This nest and these eagles have my heart and I am not going to give up on them until Steve and NCTC turns us off completely, although I pray that never happens. Like right now, I see Hidey peeking out from under the parent. That is priceless to me.
I am hoping for a benefactor like the wonderful lady from Burke Va and the Panda Cam! And if I win the Powerball someday...well, you know the rest of the story !

Redoubt cam is working again, runoff from melting snow is very obvious. The top of the volcano is in ash and/or clouds.

Hey, Jo, it sounds like you are healing well! That is wonderful news.
Still one egg in HI. (I always think of Hawaii when I type that)
It is snowing in Oregon again.
celery is truly not a replacement for brownies, I'll have one for ya.
Yes, Margy, it is. I assume some of it has to be ash, but they canceled the Ashfall Advisory.

I think if you go into an area that is a certain number of feet off the main road and it is not private property...you can gather wild flowers, just not endagered species. That use to be the law, I don't know about now. Gathering wild flowers use to be my favorite passtime. I love the wild ferns and have many of them.
MORNIN' MEGAN!----Thank you for your stand on the wild flowers!---
You are right, Megan, about leaving the wild flowers for others to enjoy and that had always been my practice. If there was a large patch of flowers, I would take two and never if only a few. I told myself...I said "self" those flowers need to bre thinned out;)
Hello Norma:) Gotcha , Wanda, always leave some to grow...
And always ok to try to rescue them if the area is threatened with development.

Good morning friends! Our eaglet doubled in size overnight!
This site is cool I had been on before, but did not know that they take a jeep ride with cam and tour guide thru the African bush to look for wildlife several times a day. At 10 am our time they will go on a ride, it's really cool! Wildearth Djuma 1 live from the African Bush
Good Tuesday morning everyone, yes Megan I have been on that bush ride, they go at nighttime too.
MORNIN' SHARON!----I see the SUN is shining in BEAUTIFUL BLUEFIELD!!!---
Good Eagleland Morning Megan and Sharon.
Good Eagleland Morning Mits.
I was with a person once that took a "Lady Slipper". I was so saddened to watch it died. She did everything to keep it alive. That was a "fast trip to learning" not to take those flowers.
I did enjoy the once I had on the 5 acres. Seem like they were always near a fallen tree.
Hi Helen, Dana and of course, Hello Sissy and Sharon:)
Lady slippers do not transplant. When I lived in NH, they were all throught the woods, so beautiful.
Temps are warming up in GH- gonna go take cuttings, have a great day, the sun is shining here!
Oh yeah, ther's a short Mason update.
odd, all my osprey cams have disappeared from my fav list????
MT nest at LW
Good morning everyone. Back from coffee and dog treats. Trying to beat the storms in my area for today.
Hope you enjoy the cams you watch today and see some great stuff.
Good morning, everyone. The sun is shining here, but cooler temps are back, we are only getting into the 40's today.
There is an Osprey at Puleston site:
Puleston Osprey
The sun is shining and it is 42°. I am just a tad bit chilly this morning.
Good Eagleland Morning Deb and Glo.
Sharon we are only 25° right now. What's up with Bluefield having a nice warm 42° already lol
Our chick is on view
Morning Snack and Cuddling just occurred/occuring our nest...☺
Mits did you find your Osprey links?
Regarding Lady's Slippers, Norma, do you mean the Pink Ones?
I have seen quite a lot of them, only one Yellow one, and never have seen the Showy Lady's Slipper, except in my Wildflower Books!
They all look about the same except in color but most books insist on calling the Pink ones Mocassin flowers :(
Both at our nest
Have a good friend who had them on his property and he invited me to take a few...still they were wild and I do agree, it is a no-no - but I did, and it was not successful, well the leaves came up but no flowers.
Poof no switch
Here is one thing I have noticed about development:
Wildflowers show up in some of the most unusual places! Due to the dirt and flowers/seeds/bulbs being "transplanted" so to speak...
That IS kind of cool....that's what I have noticed about Butterfly Weed in particular around here -
☺
Love those feetie prints on the Finney Water nest snow !
Well shucks, it is Moccasin not Mocassin, kind of like the work Raccoon...or is it racoon ?
Good Morning Eagle ♀ and ♂'s
Best wishes this morning, Wanda, for you and GeeGee...xo
Too funny! My Audobon clock is chirping Ten with the titmouse, , and the titmouse outside is answering back ♪ ♫ (not really, but I hear them both at the same time ☺ )
At 3 o'clock it will be the cardinal and at 7 pm the Robin !
Great Horned Owl at Noon....now that would be cool!
..Audubon ...
Morning, all!
Can anyone get our live feed going at all? Everytime I try, it comes up but it's completely frozen :(
Good Morning All!
I wish the sunshine I see would warm the temps up! Cold out there.
Getting ready for exercises today with therapist coming in later. Almost 3 weeks since the 'break'.
Cam activity abounding .. Something going on all the time .. Hard to keep up with happenings except for your comments telling it all.
Mine is frozen, Paula.
I don't even open it anymore, Paula, it never seems to work more than a few seconds.
Hey Paula and Jo!
Live feed wouldn't run at all for me yesterday, constantly frozen. I gave up watching it:(
I put the Still Cam up and just refresh if something is going on.
Thanks, all, now I know it's just not me....
Has just gotten really worse!
Margy - I love my Audobon clock!
Feeding at BWE....the chicks there are getting huge!
Yeah! We are all right there with ya!
Hi Jo -
I had it up for awhile at First Light and it was okay then but I shut it down when I left the computer
thought I would save you all some "Bandwidth" - see that it helped lot ☺
Everything sounds GOOD with You though...
Me Too Paula - sure is funny when I mess up time changes or knock that little sound button in the back though and all the birds get bumfuzzled...☺
FYI - Next hatches to look for, besides the 3rd egg at NBG are CO and TH
I'm engaged in a rare activity this morning...
vacuuming :(
but when done I will be ☺
** GOOD MORNING **

Atlanta Panda Cam won't open for me
Guess it is very very busy!
Feeding at BWE.
C(°Ù¿°)D
Jim
Too bad to whoever said "can't open the Panda cam" this morning.
You should try again, they are wrestling on the floor of the enclosure.
C(°Ù¿°)D
Jim
Good Eagleland Morning Mema Jo and Paula. Jo you sure are doing good!! ( :
I've finally gotten some time to watch Baby Luney. Lun Lun and him are wrestling right now. Oh how he has grown.
Well I didn't get an article like the journalist said from Atlanta. So I'm putting this up: The lady from Berk Va. near Alexander Va. gave a huge amount of money to bring the Atlanta cam back online.
Mara Strock gave $10,000.00 to get the cam back up and running again. WHY some might ask??? BECAUSE SHE LOVES PANDAS...
Lun Lun just ran up to Luney and slammed him to the floor.
live feed....NOT:(
And she keeps doing it!
Still one egg at HI.
Dana, I did a system restore, but bookmarked osprey cams did not come back, but went to beakspeak and other places and have all of them back in new folder.
My Panda cam is 'buffering'
Oh My ! Look at that 'fight-play'
I don't see any comments or pics on the Maine blog or anywhere that the third Norfolk egg has hatched yet.
But they do have a couple of pics from late yesterday, which show the egg with a large pip hole..so it's just a matter of time.

Jim
Deb
Opened up Puleston Cam, it is in New York State, correct?
That Puleston site itself is amazing! Cannot keep up with all the news that goes on there...lots and lots of video and picture links.
This nest looks awesome, Thanks!
xo
As for my Live Feed, I "think" it is working, because it keeps the same position as the still cam.
But she is sleeping, and it is hard to be sure.
C(°Ù¿°)D
Jim
maybe you want to refresh, Jim, she is not sleeping
Eagle up on back of the nest...
Puleston cam is on Long Island, if I am remebering that correctly

Thanks Mits already have Kentucky under my Osprey Cams.
BB
Off to the store now. And work tonight.
Enjoy your day.
really windy up in Maine....
Enjoy your day, too Glo
Hope there is some magic coming your way....I guess Dex always provides a little Magic ☺ xo
I see one back at Kentucky
and I think there is a feeding going on at OUR nest...
Still just one at OK.
Hi Double E-S and Lolly!
I am hoping for a benefactor like the wonderful lady from Burke Va and the Panda Cam! And if I win the Powerball someday...well, you know the rest of the story !
xo
Well How do you Do Belle and Liberty, can you get a little closer to the Cam ??? Wow ~
long neck Louie.....:)
Split coming soon
Sharon: did you see that ? I about fell out of my chair !
And got to watch it a little longer with the live feed being pokey as it often is
Yes, and for a Split Treat I think I will post that last screen grab on the Roost Link....here I go...
