The bridge cam of the Norwegian Jewell - looks as though it has left the dock and is out at sea. The sights I have don't tell me where it is like the Princess' line did.

Have fun Jo. Hello Norma, if you go to BW open house you will see many eagles. We saw so many when Paula and I went this spring. Just in my own yard, We have seen 2 osprey fly overhead this week, lots of hawks, and of course the beautiful bald eagle pair we saw this morning. Hubby was hollering and I came running as fast as I could, we were outside early in the garden, and the eagles were soaring right above. Probably explains why the hawks were yelling so loudly in our yard this morning. No market today Norma, down to just one right now,in Wv tomorrow, may be my last until November, lack of rain and cool temps have really slowed my flowers down. Have a great day, it's beautiful outside.

I was watching frieda (wannabe?) and frodo last night before I went to bed was hoping she would switch so I can see the eggs. They should be hatching soon, I can't wait.
Going to start working on the hacienda this weekend, in the spring I would love to have a BBQ here and maybe a trip to the nest.
You are CORRECT, PAULA...2 weeks from this Tuesday....this time she has made it passed when she delivered Maggie last year...Son is on his way to a bachelor party today in Atlantic City...watch her go into labor today:).

Hi Bobbi - It is the Norwegian Jewell I do not know itinerary and the Norwegian line doesn't put any destination or travel in the Bridge Cam pic. Glo would know - Just got back from picnic & didn't make it to the cruise in the chat room.

Bobbi Iris 's ship is the Norwegian Jewel. it is currently enroute form Istanbul to Ephesus. Ephesus was the place Iris was most excited to be and she has hired a private tour guide for their stop there. She is do in Ephesus tomorrow at 9 am tomorrow Ephesus time. thanks Glo, went to site but think its night there now so no view. Must be about six or seven hours ahead of us. Will check in later. Smart move hiring private guide. When we went to Portugal, we did the same thing. They really know where to take you and not to the usual tourist sites.
Anne's ship leaves at 7:00p.m. Alaskan time..11 our time and then she sails home to California.

Bobbi, look at the cheat sheet on the left hand side of their page...it says which panda is this? lol....thought I was smart didn't you??? tee-hee Mei-Sheng is on their now, he will be going back to China next month, he is 4 yrs old, China let them keep him 2 yrs longer.
Mits,thought I was missing something with the pandas. Will look next time. Read about them sending the male back. Do they just send the males or do the females have to go also? I thought I read somewhere that they are only on a lend basis for a certain amount of time.That has to be hard on their keepers. Can't help but get attached to them they are so loveable.
checked out anne's ship and looks like the weather has cleared. Hope she has smooth sailing the next two days.
Boobi, both male and female that are born in captivity go back when they are 2 yrs old. Unless China gives permission to stay longer, as they have done with Mei Sheng in SD. Tai-Shan here in DC has been given permission to stay 2 more years. The keepers do get very attached and it is going to be very hard for them.
wow mits, that isn't long at all. Do they send another panda to replace the one that goes back?

The adult pandas are here for 10 yrs, got 3 more years to go, and we pay 1 million dollars per panda each year they are here....at the end of that time it is solely up to the Chinese government whether these will stay or go and if we will ever have pandas again....all pandas in captivity belong to China.
just reading about Bai Yun. She has been here almost 11 years. Does that mean she will be permanent or no. She is a really great mother. Notice she is leaving squiggles alone more often.

She is also 16 years old, so I'm thinking they will let her stay for the rest of her life. She has been a good panda producer.

Yes, her ship is leaving, on her itinerary it said they were going to leave 7 Alaska time.

It's so amazing to see an animal that large be so gentle with her young. Not much different then humans with their babies. Love to watch animal planet. Especially when they have ones where the animals are raising their young. I love wolves. For some reason they are special to me.When we were in Anchorage, we stopped in an art store and picked up a painting of five wolves in alaska. Must be 2 1/2 feet by 3 1/2 feet. That was my souvenir for the trip.

Jo, Those last two days are kick back days. Yet, you are kind of sad because it is almost over and you want to go back and start all over again.
I think wolves get a bad rap. They are very social and loving with their young and intelligent.
I felt the same way coming back from Bermuda.....Jo, you have got to go on a cruise, you and Ed would love it.
JMHO, but Anne went at the best time, because she missed the summer crowds, can't wait to hear all about it.
mits, how many pandas do we have in the US? I knew about the ones in DC but did not know too much about the ones in SD. Are they easy to handle?

I think anne's trip was near one of the last for the year to alaska. We went in the middle of May and were told we picked the right time because in the summer it is always crowded plus the mosquites are horrible. We saw some in May and have to tell you they are like dive bombers. Big and noisy. Somthing we didsee a lot of were what I call snow bunnies. About twice the size of cottontails in the lower 48
Lets see...7 in SD, 3 in DC, 3 in Atlanta, and, 2 in Memphis.......Robyn, Bobbi is doing great, we love having her here.

I don't think she is too shy to answer you Bobbi! We call her Dr Panda... Volunteers at the DC Zoo on the Asian trail but better yet she watched from Day 1 when Tai was born.

July 9 2005, I remember that, it was my first time seeing a baby panda and I was hooked the first year as was Tori.
That is so neat. What an experience that must be for mits. Would love to work around animals but would get so attached to them.
Yep, Bobbi, been watching that little guy since day #1, decided when they finally had openings to voulnteer at the National Zoo, I love seeing all the animals on the Asia Trail and talking to the keepers, they are wonderful, except Brian, he can be a pain in the butt when you ask him a question, he is not a people person:).
Robyn, and I loved that we could hear his and Mei's sounds.

Just was checking the Princess line and some ships are still headed for ports in Alaska, the Sapphire Princess is at Whittier, Alaska and the shot is beautiful.
Bobbi Yep still a blue screen BUT it still has a correct date & time clocking away.. That is the good sign that Maybe JUST Maybe on Monday a little more cable work & we could have a CAM up and running.....

Had the CT this past Mon...Anxious to see that lung! At picnic today, 2 of my nieces are nurses over at the hosp and they said my coloring was good and that they were surprised I was getting around so well. BUT it will be going into the 7th week since surgery... I tire quickly so I know I need to start doing some walking..
It will probably be early or even late am hrs before he gets home and on here to tell us about it!

Yes, walking is great at opening up the lungs but always remember your limitations and like I lways tell Tori when you feel you are ok push a little only you know when and how much to push.
I sure can follow that advice!

Great cruise this afternoon. Vicky and I chatted for about a half hour and the show was over. Enjoyed it.
The spot I saw on Frodo, was higher up and much smaller.
Usually Frodo, doesn' t take up that much of the cam shot.

Jo I love cinnamon and yes I use a pinch or two extra. I am the kind of cook who rarely uses measuring spoons or cups unless it is a specific recipe that calls for a specific amount. I also add a little extra spice or two depending on my mood.
