Wind Restrictions in Effect on the Bay Bridge

STEVENSVILLE, Md.- Wind restrictions are now in effect on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge due to sustained wind speeds of between 40 and 49 mph, according to the Maryland Transportation Authority.
House trailers, empty box trailers and other vehicles subject to strong winds are prohibited from crossing.
In addition, wind warnings (sustained wind speeds of 30-39 mph) are in effect at the Francis Scott Key Bridge (I-695). Operators of house trailers, box trailers, motorcycles, vehicles with roof-mount racks containing cargo or any other vehicle that may be subject to high winds are advised to use caution while traveling across the bridge.
For around-the-clock Bay Bridge traffic conditions call 1-877-BAYSPAN (229-7726). Visit baybridge.com for the latest bridge lane-closure schedule and to view images of bridge traffic.

Hurrah! Bob gets to come home on March 3rd so we are gathering stuff up to bring home. It is amazing how much you accumulate at the hospital. It has been two months and two days so he is as anxious as we all are. He got to come home both Sat. and Sun. and sit in his own chair to watch golf. These home visits are getting better. We shut and locked all the doors this time! I must admit that I forgot my purse when I ran to the grocery store. I was too busy writing down neighbor's emergency phone numbers. A pocket full of car and house keys does not go far at Safeway! Luckily, I noticed before I got in the store... We need check lists! And sleep...

Lynn, the first home visit they left the front door wide open when they headed back to Barrows. The second one they left the garage door open. That wouldn't be to bad here, but in Scottsdale, I think they were lucky nothing happened. This weekend they got remembered to close everything!

Double digit below zero windchills tonight here....brrr...sure feel sorry for all creatures, w/ or w/o fur or feathers.
24 degrees now, and falling. It was 30 at 2pm.
Decided not to go to visitation in town tonight....cold air and wind NOT good for lung power....funeral service in the morning at nearby church, so will go for the service but not cemetery.

Mentioning sticks in nest earlier reminded me of yesterday's snowstorm. Was showing Fubby the poor wet & snowcovered birds yesterday, & he asked, "why don't they put up a canopy?" Maybe that's what Belle & Lib are doing! LOL
My NBG cam is black.
Tell Frank that they would conk their heads on a canopy when they do a take-off or incoming, Loretta!!!!!
At least for the spring and summer the leaves offer SOME protection.
would not be a good idea, since the eaglets fly straight up when they are practicing take-offs, beside it would be human interference, and as hard as it is to watch sometimes, sure we don't want to mess with real nature:)

Hello all! It was sure nice to get on here and see that BW has a healthy baby chick. I was really surprised at the amount of snow on the nest, tho. I hope the chick stays warm. I take it that BW thinks it will be ok, I hope.
Our nest got lucky this time. Thank goodness.
We got no snow down here; just rain, but it is freezing cold out there and the wind is howling.
No word on Jo's ggbaby yet, I take it.

Just saw my white-shouldered hawk, but he landed in a tree behind some big ones so that I couldn't get a shot of him. Also two titmice doing what looked like a mating dance in the air.
That is a hole in the other egg...check it out now...
Lynn, GeeGee was the best she has been in 2 weeks. She said she felt more like herself. She said it was probably the chicken and pasta I fixed her yesterday. I made her enough for 2 meals, and she ate it all at one setting! Pleased me so much. She says she is not hungry, but when I put food in front of her, she eats well. She just needs some extra TLC:)

Wanda, my grandma was the same way...don't think that she was too lazy to fix her food after Pop passed, but think she just didn't like eating alone...and find that mom is pretty much the same way. Company seems to be the key. Glad she ate well, and that makes her feel better!

Thanks for your kind greetings and hugs, folks...had some rough calls at work today, 4 year old died in a fire, mother in critical condition, and another infant died from unk causes.....very sad for these victims and families.
