I mentioned to Lisa about the white stuff near BW eagles head. She said but there was two eggs this morning. So that is right because it was mentioned yesterday about the white stuff. At the eagles head so it can't be egg shell.
The BW egg will hatch around 3 pm.

Good beautiful sunny afternoon folks.. Tryed reading all the blogs but alot to remember... Well i can tell you talking with Dana yesterday while she was watching the eagle so close to her was a real treat.. She was breathless.. crying... excited and her words were amazing.. Both times she called me..lol But i told her i didnt think Lib was going for a geese way to heavy and to big for the nest...lol Sorry about your dads passing Bob... Watched Blackwater all day yesterday and was hoping for a baby today.. sure hope all is ok with those eggs.. Here tomorrow its calling for 2 inches of rain very heavy also.. But Belle looks like she has those eggs really deep in the nest bowl...Mits glad to hear your doing much better.. Jill im off til thursday maybe we should make atrip over to the nest?? Hi Nilla sure was glad you answered your phone yesterday. You know I was breathless..lol....I always thought the ocean each time I saw it was breath taking. I now have to say an eagle at that low height in the sky. I more breath taking.......awww my.

I e-mailed my opinion, too, Paula. NBG is back up, but mine keeps starting and stopping, not sure how long it will last. There is one eagle at the nest.
I wish I weren't half way across the country, I would go eagle watching, too.
Thanks for sending the diplomatic email for all of us, Paula. It really was a disappointment and it was really disrespectful to all of us viewers & supporters of the cam not to have been informed that the cam would be down.

I don't watch Tesoro that much but thanks Paula. Don't they understand that is it people like us who support them and make donations to them to keep their cameras running? I hope NBC paid a lot for that footage cause Tesoro may need it if they made enough people mad.

Haven't read all the comments and don't have time right now but "our" eagle seems to be standing over the eggs. Could one be getting ready to hatch or have begun?? Don't know, maybe it is hopefullness? LOL! Also, the eagle is looking down occassionally!

I'm back from my meeting(s). Thank you all for your kind words and thoughts.
Sunny - I missed your question earlier on the best spots. If you check back in I'd say just about the whold drive can be good on different days. There's a parking lot near the beginning of the drive that is now closed because I think there are eagles nesting nearby but if you keep going past the lot to the right it brings you out on a small penisula where you may see some action. As you get further down the drive you'll see a park bench on the left. On Sunday just past the bench out in the water I saw some white pelicans. Also there is a stand of trees past the osprey cam platform that I have frequently seen eagles hidden in the branches. When you take a left on the last leg of the drive there are snags (dead trees) on either side that eagles like to hang out on. Lastly, there's a stand of trees across the water at the very end of the drive. If you're really lucky this is where you would see the golden eagle that frequents the refuge.
Well, bummer days LOL! I could have sworn they said should hatch around Mar. 1st. That's what happens when you turn 50...you get sometimer's disease! Sometimes you remember and sometimes you don't! ACK!

I probably won't be on much today...possible car issues ... but I wanted to check in.
My little Dodge pocket rocket is celebrating 5 years of trouble-free operation today.
And, wouldn't you know it, when I decided to go to the market last night, it barely cranked over, barely started.
So, either I've got to get it a new battery for its birthday or get it charged up.
I haven't been driving it too much lately, especially in daylight, so it could be just run down.
Still no chick at BW, and no egg at Norfolk...... Maybe waiting is good for the soul.

You can't adjust for the ISO after the fact but there are some things I can do in processing like use a "noise reduction" tool. Still won't be as good as if I had set it right though.

Hi everyone! I finally got in after being blocked from Saturday. I couldn't get our nest up or on the blog. See you are all still waiting to the a new chick at the BW nest. It was just waiting for me to get back on, :) Right! OK egg, start cracking open now. You can do it little chick.
Our nest was down until this morning, Candy.
Enjoyed the two at Maine. Also, first time to see the Eagle at Kent! Do hope they see an eagle on their outing. It is a thrill!

Great missed the hatching by a few minutes. But Nilla and I had a great day. Went to NCTC and my guard friend called back to the production building and Steve said come on back and watch the live feed. So we did. For 2 hours. Watched Belle turn the eggs and work on the fluff around her. Didn't see Liberty. But I got a video of the live feed. Not sure how well it will work but we will see. I will get it uploaded after I get back from dinner.
I'm pretty sure Lisa was at the refuge. I sent her an email a little earlier and she answered right away.

Hi, Megan. I checked BW before I left the office and saw that the chick had finally hatched. Exciting! Can't wait to see more pics of it. But - I need to leave now. Got a dog and 3 cats waiting for supper.

We can't do faster than 30 seconds. That's the fastest our cams have ever gone.
If we do more than that, we'd have to shut down the other cam. Our satellite dish provider limits how much bandwidth traffic we send up to our web host, so we have to leave it at 30/60 seconds or we'll go over our limit. If we do that, they turn us off.

To be fair to the dad, it was a little late for hunting by the time the chick arrived.
Also, don't forget the eaglet has absorbed the egg yolk, so it isn't hungry right away.
