wow....cool, you 3 have something in common.....I see a family outing to the POE site in your futures......yes, Bobbi, haven't seen them yet, but once they start back they are pretty regular about their visits.
Mits, Hopefully, there won't be any hurricanes in October.Often wonder how they survive in the storms. They can get pretty wild here. Before, we had a heavy rain and wind and our family of cardinals instead of taking cover went over into the gutter of the house next to me and were taking a bath in the gutter. It was so funny pouring down rain and there they are taking a bath. should of had my camera
thanks mits. Went through two in 2004 and one in 2005 and sure don't want to see anymore. We have a resident family of cardinals. I love them too. When we lived in New York used to look for them but they were only passing through. Its funny watching them at the bird feeder. First the blue jays feed then the morning doves and finally the cardinals. That is if there is anything left after the squirrels have at it. I swear the squirrels have a landline which tells them hey feed at such and such. Keeping lowes rich with buying bird feed.
Here the cardinals are the first in the a.m. and the last in the p.m. to feed. I remember those storms, and visited down there not long after and saw the aftermath.
My sister lost her roof and cost her over 100,000 to fix everything.Insurance took care of all of it but she said that's it. Happens again, she's gone. Don't blame her.We spent both storms in 2004 hiding in our walk in closet with our cat for twelve hours and no air. Didn't have shutters put them up real quick after that. Maybe should have put them up before the storms and then we wouldn't have had any.lol
My friends bought a house in Ft Lauderdale the winter before the storms, because they loved the banyun (SP) trees, when they went back....all the trees were gone, but the house was intact. Their son had let a friend of his dock his sailboat at there brand new dock, they live on a canal, and the boat broke away and took the dock.
Seen my share of hurricanes off shore of OC, don't want to get up close and personal with them. My great aunt was the worst she would sit on her deck in Fenwick and wait til the very last minute to go in. And still sit in front of the sliding glass door. I sat with her a couple of times but chickened out in the end and hid. Mother Nature can be one nasty B**** when she wants to.
Saw a storm of some sort has formed in the Atlantic but I haven't been home long enough to get details.
Mits, I'm the kind of person who likes to sit outside during thunderstorms like the ones we have in florida. Remember, when kids were small and we would be in florida and there we would be outside under a roof of course but loving the storm. Robyn is the same way. But definitely, never when a hurricane comes along. Talk about the boat and pier up here in Ft. Pierce at the marina. boats tied up about 100 of them took off with the docks. It was amazing.
I used to be scared of thunderstorms, but I have sometimes sit out on my balcony down the ocean and watch, but if a storm is coming, like a TS or Hurricane is coming my way, I'm back home. Altough we have major nor'easters that can do the same damage and last longer if they stall right next to the beach.
GOOD EVENING LADIES-- I love to sit under roof in a storm also. Not when there is lightning.
BOBBI--I used to live in Ft. Pierce as a child. My Dad was in the Navy there. The last time we were there was right after the last hurricane that hit there. Can't remember the name. Took out our favorite restaurant (Chucks on the beach).
Mits, I don't get off til tomorrow at Midnight. But the quiet shift is working now. They only care about drug dealers so don't call me in much. And of course I am not complaining.
Paula she is about 12lbs for apreemie she is doing great as you could see she sure smiles alot and has the bluest eyes.. finally her hair is growing on top of her head to.. but alburn like mine...wink I just adore her and cant wait to take her to Disney!!!!
Busy in here all afternoon and evening! That's The Way I Like It! From Poe to storms to hatchings and quick visits! That Lib was just checking to see if someone was watching! Glad Paula and Mits got his picture!
GOOD EVENING ALL. I just finished catching up on all the blogging the last couple of days. Only have mye email to go yet. Haven't been able to get on lately.
Update on 2nd chick has been posted on Home Page...from the Courier Mail ..The white, fluffy chick hatched about 6am, on the falcons' penthouse ledge above the Brisbane River. The last of the season's three eggs could hatch today or tonight.Frodo and Frieda now begin the task of keeping food up to the ravenous chicks.Watch Frodocam for the next hatchings, then watch as the chicks grow – fast! We should also be able to collect some (gory) video of the falcons feeding their young, mostly on feral pigeons hunted in their inner-city territory.
Robyn - it sure looked like a crack right at the top coming down the middle HOWEVER - all the others were cracked across the center middle.... What do you think?
i dont know Jo just scared the Beeeebebersss out of like Mits said last night.. What ever it was it was small perhaps a baby pigeon.. Times to say good night and sweet eagle dreams...
Looks like I have missed a lot of excitment today. I am really getting busy now--shop opens for the season on Monday. Will check in as time allows. So if you don't hear from me for a while, please don't kick me out of the PJ Club.
Wow, just had a surprise visit from the college kid. His friend's wife is being induced tomorrow, so he came home for the evening, and hopefully will get to be there after the baby is born...
Good morning, world. I saw a pic of Belle last night, so I sure feel better! I was getting worried. Beautiful night out, bright HUGE moon, but not many stars. Warmer at my place than here, what's up with that? 73 in PA, 69 here in VA. People out walking again, geesh. This must be a new fad or something. Hope they get over it soon. Beautiful pic on our nest, but MT. And Mei Sheng's cam is on in SD, what's up with that? Wonder if they changed it cause Bai is talking Squiggles out and about with her. Darn. All have a great eagle/panda day. Eyes to the sky, see the raptors fly!
Oh my goodness, see we also have all 3 chicks in Brisbane, how cool! Frieda is awake, but sitting on the babies. It's only 1831 there, wonder if Frodo will bring her something to eat, or make an appearance. She's laying down, but her head moves every refresh, she's awake and alert. Oh, can't wait to see the 3 eyasses!!!! Off to a good start for the season!
OH, SEE THE BABIES, she's tucking them in. Well, that was quick, now back on them. Oh cool, got a pic. All 3 snoozing. How cool. Still can see the broken egg shells on the side of her too, neato.
GOOD MORNING SUZANNE. Couldn't sleep so I finally got up to see that we now have 3 chicks in Brisbane. I should have stayed up last night, but I just couldn't. After I went through my 71 emails and two days of blogs, I peeked in on the blog for a minute and then my eyelids got heavy. Saw the crack in the egg, but went to bed too early. :( Oh well, at least we have 3 baby chicks now.
Glad you made it in today ok, but those people walking on the road don't sound too nice to come upon. I don't envy you the trip every day.
As you saw, last night one of the eagles made a short appearance. Maybe they will be there this morning too. They just like to keep us guessing, I guess.
Think Frieda may have moved the babies again, she has changed position, but didn't see it. Looks almost like one of them is sticking out from under her chest. Too cute.
I probably won't be able to come to the open house on the 20th. Josh will be home for me to come on the weekend of the 14th and the 20th. If I come up the 20th, he wants to take me to a hot air balloon faire and lift off. I have never seen a hot air balloon, so he was excited about taking me. So, I guess unless things change, I'll probably have to pass on the open house this year. This is the only time I get to see Josh by myself all year, and I want to take advantage of it before he gets stars in his eyes and gets married. :) I'll be with you all in spirit tho and will look forward to all the pics that will come.
Hi Candy, my you are up early! I haven't checked my email yet, that's about the last thing I do when I come in. But thanks for the heads up, I will look. Nice to know they all hatched so close together! Think maybe the first one was only about 24 hours ahead of the other 2, so that's good! I know what you mean about being tired. I fell asleep last night on the couch watching Murder She Wrote, which is on at 4 in the afternoon, for heavens's sake!! Geesh, getting too old for these long days. Did see where Belle (I think) popped in last night, I'm sure glad. Was getting worried about them not showing up for 2 days. Candy, hope you have a wonderful day today with your kids.
Well, I have to start to get ready for school. Keep your eyes on our nest this morning. Hopefully Liberty and Belle will give you a viewing. You have a nice day today and a safe trip home. Oh, and how is Gypsy looking lately; more like her hairy self? Hugs to her from me. Since my guinea pig died, I haven't had any more acute broncitis episodes. So guess I am done having even smaller animals. :( Have a GREAT DAY!
Aww, Candy, sorry about your Guinea Pig! But glad to hear you are not having any more broncitis problems. Gypsy is looking more like a long hair cat, now, thanks for asking. Her hair is almost 2" long now, but she's still got another 4" to go to get back to where she was. Didn't realize her hair would grow in so slowly, but I'm kinda glad. Least she has a good coat now for the cooler weather. Maybe by next April again, she'll have all her hair in time to get her shaved again. That is, if she gets all those mats. Have a great day, you be careful driving too. Thanks, I'll be careful going home. I finally found Bird Girls photos of Brisbane in yahoo, totally awesome pictures!
Morning, Robyn. Nice out tonight. Darn, haven't read yesterday's blogs or back blogs yet, I take it that Candy is not coming up on the 20th? Darn. Candy, sorry you're not gonna be up here for Open House!!! Hopefully you can make it in the Spring!

IT IS THE BEST KIND, ROBYN....Idon't see an eagle:(

I really can't say, Robyn.
Hi Mits,hi rob. Just got on and saw you were talking about Poe. He was my favorite author in high school. Read all his works.
I never knew that mom
Ya know, I just never got into him, guess his readings made me scared.
I'm watching the Tesoro nest, Bobbi, and there is a woodpecker there.
Guess never mentioned it. Didn't realize you and tori were into his stories. Have been looking at the monterey bay cams. The sea otters are on and were playing. really cute.Where they are is a really big area and the water that comes in there is from the sea. We went there when we were in monterey.
mits, keep looking at tesoro but have only seen the eagles once around 7:30 at night about a week ago.
They really don't have much protection from the weather. completely bare.
wow....cool, you 3 have something in common.....I see a family outing to the POE site in your futures......yes, Bobbi, haven't seen them yet, but once they start back they are pretty regular about their visits.
I have watched them hanging on in inclement weather.

just went back to monterey cam and if I'm seeing correctly, one of the otters has a baby on its stomach.
Alrighty time to get Tori bac to my sis in law. Mom call ya in a few minute.
BBS
I love Cardinals, Bobbi, would have loved to have seen a pic of that....keeping my fingers crossed that no bad weather comes your way.
k, rob. Tell tori I love her.
Heron at BW, shells visible in Oz
Missed the shells saw the heron.
that heron really wants to get up close and personal with the cam.
looks like the other eyasses may have made it completely out of the shell
heron all gone.
thanks mits. Went through two in 2004 and one in 2005 and sure don't want to see anymore. We have a resident family of cardinals. I love them too. TS Karen, Jill, and she is way east of the Antilles

Don't think we will be hit this year seems that they either go into gulf or out to sea which is fine by me.
Thanks Mits. I think I may finally be getting a break today, at least long enough to catch up on here. And really, what more do I need?????????
I used to be scared of thunderstorms, but I have sometimes sit out on my balcony down the ocean and watch, but if a storm is coming, like a TS or Hurricane is coming my way, I'm back home. mits, where do you live?
wonder if Lib and Belle will come for a visit tonight???
Hi Jill, how are you?
Bobbi, I live in Bethesda, Maryland, a suburb of Washington, D.C., but we have a condo down in Ocean City, Maryland
How long are you off from work now, Jill?
Robyn is always talking about how nice it is in ocean city.
GOOD EVENING LADIES--
I love to sit under roof in a storm also. Not when there is lightning.
BOBBI--I used to live in Ft. Pierce as a child. My Dad was in the Navy there.
The last time we were there was right after the last hurricane that hit there. Can't remember the name. Took out our favorite restaurant (Chucks on the beach).
EAGLE............
Wanda, its a small world.
chucks was taken out by I think Wilma. Know it was there after Frances and Jean.
Eagle!!
EAGLE ALERT
GONE.
I only got one pic!
WOW THAT WAS A QUIK VISIT
Hey, at least we got to see one! I think it was Lib. Guess I should never give up!
A few seconds before he landed I saw something fly under the nest, and thought it was one of them.
I BET THEY ARE BOTH ROOSTING IN THE TREE BECAUSE ITS TO DARK TO FLY NOW... SO THEY ARE NEAR
Goodnight everyone, speaking of storms one just came in and lights are flickering so turning off the puter. Take care all and have a great night.
well, it might have been Spideys" nest blowing in the wind I saw.
Bye Bobbi!
Well the dogs know the eagle is gone...gotta go feed them...I see part of spidey's web too.
Good night, Bobbi.
Mits, I don't get off til tomorrow at Midnight. But the quiet shift is working now. They only care about drug dealers so don't call me in much. And of course I am not complaining.
Hi Bobbi
Bye Bobbi
Babies Visible in Brisbane
Nilla - Jasmin looks huge! How big is she now?
It looks like one egg is still intact.
Paula she is about 12lbs for apreemie she is doing great as you could see she sure smiles alot and has the bluest eyes.. finally her hair is growing on top of her head to.. but alburn like mine...wink I just adore her and cant wait to take her to Disney!!!!

From Poe to storms to hatchings and quick visits! That Lib was just checking to see if someone was watching! Glad Paula and Mits got his picture!
Do you think that is a new half shell in front of Frieda now...?Like the 3rd egg...
JO She was just off the babies and there was still one egg left to hatch.
GOOD EVENING ALL. I just finished catching up on all the blogging the last couple of days. Only have mye email to go yet. Haven't been able to get on lately.
It was good to read that we had a short visit from Liberty tonight. I was beginning to get worried.
That is a lot of shell for one egg or is that from the fist two?
Mits- you and I had the exact same picture, probably the same one Nilla got too.
Thanks for the 2 fluffballs pics.
Howdy, Candy!
Robyn, that is from the first 2.
Maybe tomorrow then
No kidding, Paula:):):)....the little devil was in and out so fast.
Update on 2nd chick has been posted on Home Page...from the Courier Mail

Ok Jo you have mail and Paula and Mits take a look
Nope it looks to be the egg color
ROBYN I was thinking the same thing. It looked like the top part of the egg had a crack starting.
Yup Robyn i thought i saw a crack near the top rounded sorta like a Y?? just wait n see i guess

Good Night Nilla
Gory already! Yes, Nilla, that looked like dinner with the feet!
Not sure if the Y is a crack or just the coloring on the egg.
Change of view. Working on cam maybe.
Back on Frieda
I was back getting dressed for bed - did I miss anything under Frieda?
Looks like I have missed a lot of excitment today. I am really getting busy now--shop opens for the season on Monday. Will check in as time allows. So if you don't hear from me for a while, please don't kick me out of the PJ Club.

Hope you're all OK tonight.
Jim
GOOD NIGHT, EVERYBODY/GOOD MORNING TO SUZANNE AND THE IN EARLY CREW...
JIM
hi jim... aren't they too cute???!?
Good morning, world. I saw a pic of Belle last night, so I sure feel better! I was getting worried. Beautiful night out, bright HUGE moon, but not many stars. Warmer at my place than here, what's up with that? 73 in PA, 69 here in VA.

Oh, BirdGirl, glad to see you here! And LOVE your little animation of the penguins. That is just too cute...and too funny.
Oh my goodness, see we also have all 3 chicks in Brisbane, how cool! Frieda is awake, but sitting on the babies. Oh, can't wait to see the 3 eyasses!!!! Off to a good start for the season!
Frieda checking her new chicks, head rooting around under her. Maybe I'll get a glimpse...
Well, she got everybody situated, now she's back down. Maybe next time...
OH, SEE THE BABIES, she's tucking them in. Well, that was quick, now back on them. Oh cool, got a pic. All 3 snoozing. How cool. Still can see the broken egg shells on the side of her too, neato.

Morning Suz, Candy have a waonderful day, sorry we wont see you the 20th.
