Okay, maybe I don't. I just scooted a dead one out the back door. Dogs stepped on it. Thelma gets about 10 or more in her house every day. Wonder what their purpose is?
Halyomorpha halys (Stål), the "Brown Marmorated Stink Bug," was accidentally introduced into Allentown, PA around 1996 from China or Japan.
The Brown Marmorated Stink Bug feeds on a wide range of fruits, vegetables, and other host plants beginning in late May/early June including peaches, apples, green beans, soybeans, cherry, raspberries, and pears. Damage to host plants from the Brown Marmorated Stink Bug is typically small necrotic areas but ranges from leaf stippling, catfacing on tree fruits, seed loss, and transmission of plant pathogens.
During the summer the stink bug produces offspring that survive the winter as adults by entering houses. They enter houses through cracks in windows and the foundation and may be seen in large numbers during September and October. Due to the noxious odor produced as a defense mechanism, the stink bug causes a nuisance to homeowners. Since its introduction into Pennsylvania, it has established itself as a potential risk to agriculture as well as a nuisance to homeowners and has been steadily spreading throughout the eastern United States.

Well I hope no one saw my last comment - there was something dreadfully wrong with it but I fixed it quick......
Well Now I really do understand those Stink Bugs but I agree with Mits & Sharon - ROFLMBO
Jim We are all grateful to have your picture as we can now picture you as we read your comments! :) We are hoping that one of these years you will come east.
Well thank you Jo....we all know who that is up in that tree. Got picture off the video Brett did. Surprised it turned out so well. That is why Mits got the "practice run" in case I needed to re-do it more. Glad you gals are keeping an eye on me. Everyone needs someone to care about them "hugs and ty". Helloooooooo! We are back home. Had a fantastic time at the beach. It was very interesting to say the least. We went to Port Aransas which is by Corpus Christi. The beach was covered with debris from Galveston. Along with vegetation there were TV's, Sofas, chest of drawers, tables, photo albums, coffee makers, unopened bottles of beer, coke, milk, etc. plastic chairs, plastic every thing!!!! shoes, staircases, docks, signs, railroad ties, lumber, etc, etc, etc. It was soooo sad! We saw this Monday night and Tuesday. It rained Tuesday so we went to the State Aquarium in Corpus. Tuesday night I told the others "I have to do something. Let's go to the beach in the morning and do our part." The others were all for it. We cleaned about 1/2 mile of beach, picking up what we were able to pick up. The city of Port A had crews picking up larger stuff. They took our garbage bags and piles of "stuff". Buy the end of the week it was surprising how clean the beach looked. The water was beautiful, clear as could be. You could wade out and see your feet in hip deep water. I loved it! We had good food and great time visiting with sister Sharon and BIL, Dan. The weather was beautiful after Tuesday, not too hot....just right. Pleasant to sit out any time of day and cool in the evening.
We have now unloaded the trailer, cleaned it and will take it back to storage for a short while. Will get it back here at the end of next week to start getting ready to head east. Wahoo!!
Did I miss anything? Jo did you send out anything more about the open house? I do not plan to go through all of last weeks blog!!!!
Hi Mits! Well, I am not the kind of person that can look at a mess and do nothing. LOL I also pull weeds when they offend me....my yard and else where!!! :)
The last post off of Loch Garten Ospreys: Posted on Monday, 29 Sep 2008 at 5.29 pm
Just got the data - as of 3pm today (29th) Nethy was 50km NE of Rennes (France) and Deshar was still flying, he has missed the Azores. He was at an altitude of 500m and has so far flown 1978miles (3185km). The facts are now clear - on his current course the next landfall is 2470 miles (4000km) away in Suriname,South America - that distance is 3-4 days away.
I will post a more detailed blog with the satellite data tomorrow
Lolly you have got to see Sharons house. It dates back to the 1700's and the town looks like something off of a p0ost card. I was raised in the west and had never seen anything like it.
Welcome home, Lolly. Glad you had such a nice trip. How generous of you to volunteer like that...it must have been sad discarding peoples' memorabilia. A-M, don't know the restaurants in S'town well enough to know what's open for breakfast. But they sure have some nice ones for dinner!
I am having left over BBQ chicken and salad. I have been so good and I still gained weight. At least my jeans say so. I will be good until I get to my brothers and then all hells let loose.I am not going to diet until I get back....
Everyone sounds so excited about Open House. It makes me smile to know that our little corner of WV makes so many people happy. The foliage should be beautiful and of course, the company is OUTSTANDING!
I do not eat breakfast out in our town very often, but do know that Shoneys in Martinsburg serves GRITS, plain and with cheese. The cheese is VERY good, and yes, the plain does taste like cereal.
I saw that report on Deshar and Nethy too, Dana...
She appears to be in good shape, but it looks like something went wrong with Deshar's navigation system. He was on the wrong course from the start, and it would be a miracle if he could make it now.
Too bad, but I don't think anyone knows what's going wrong or has any idea of what to do about it.
Here's something that will help you with first time grits eaters. Lot's of butter, salt and pepper is needed. Just plain grits are sort of bland. Take it from a southern boy. Also everyone should go to a Cracker Barrel for breakfast at least once. Best breakfast in town, anywhere.
Jim I must say you really got me interested when you posted the first "tiny url". I thank you..it is great to look at the map and follow these two osprey.
I know Jim Deshar has been off course so to speak. It's hard to believe all that way and no land fall. David on the Loch Garten Osprey page said "he has been wrong about Deshar before on making it". Surely hopes he is wrong again!!!!
We stop at a lot of Cracker Barrels, also. They love Campers and motor homes and we love them! Their parking lots are always full not matter where we are or whatever time of day it is.
For those coming to our area of Martinsburg. The Friends of the Norwalk Foundation just brought back "the last classic car that was manufactured in Martinsburg in 1914". It will be on display for anyone to see on Oct. 12 North Mall Foxcroft Ave.
Jim in reading it has been known for Osprey to land onto a ship. So many on the blog there are praying Deshar finds one. I'm sure you too Jim have read that. They say his device that sends back information is working fine.
Jo, don't oversate that sweet tooth!!! They are yummy, aren't they? Cracker Barrel has always been one of my favs, too. Looked and found that Bob Evans also has grits. Anne Marie, we have both in Martinsburg, which is just a short ways up the road from S'town.
You googled it the last time I mentioned it - you even put the entire description!! Remember it looks like a Buckeye but it tastes like chocolate covered peanut butter!
The buckeye confection, made to resemble the tree's nut, is made by dipping a spoonful of peanut butter fudge in milk chocolate, leaving a circle of the peanut butter exposed. These are a popular treat in Ohio, especially during the Christmas and NCAA college football seasons.
That is quite a list of people coming to the open house. We should have a great time. I am totally wiped tonight and don't know why. Off to bed. Twins have a one game playoff with White Sox tomorrow, GO Twins!!

Fog was forecast for this morning in So Cal, but it has turned to light rain with occasional thunder in the distance. [:~D]
W. site says it's supposed to get to 82°, but for now it's cooled off.

Hi, Anne Marie. Yes, most of the breakfast restaurants serve grits. I can't stand them, so can't attest as to the quality!!
the email that Paula sent me says Bettys servs lunch and sandwiches.
I had them once last trip and dont see the difference between them and hot cereal.
My computer has been down. Is Mason any better?
Which Comfort Inn are you booked into, Anne Marie?

Hi Lolly sounds like you did "volunteer clean up" on your trip. Jo sent an email out about the food.
Hi Anne Betty's use to serve breakfast all the time. Maybe they don't anymore. That's a question someone will have to check out.
Right on, Mits!
Jo sent me an email before we left and we responded.

Welcome back Lolly. I have kept this neighborhood back and front clean for years. I am sure we will find Jack and you some good grits.
Here's something that will help you with first time grits eaters. Lot's of butter, salt and pepper is needed. Just plain grits are sort of bland. Take it from a southern boy. Also everyone should go to a Cracker Barrel for breakfast at least once. Best breakfast in town, anywhere.
I love Cracker Barrel Red. When my husband and I travel we stop at lots of Cracker Barrel. Love their corn bread.

I know Jim Deshar has been off course so to speak. It's hard to believe all that way and no land fall. David on the Loch Garten Osprey page said "he has been wrong about Deshar before on making it". Surely hopes he is wrong again!!!!
I have returned and I need to read from 5:00 until now.... I do see that Lolly is home and that AnneMarie's computer must be up/running........
I'll be right back after catching up on the last 2 hours
YES SIR I DID GET BUCKEYES
We stop at a lot of Cracker Barrels, also. They love Campers and motor homes and we love them! Their parking lots are always full not matter where we are or whatever time of day it is.
JIM, do you think there could be something wrong with the navigation system?
For those coming to our area of Martinsburg. The Friends of the Norwalk Foundation just brought back "the last classic car that was manufactured in Martinsburg in 1914". It will be on display for anyone to see on Oct. 12 North Mall Foxcroft Ave.
Photo here now Classic 1914
Well I made it through!
Excitement fills the air TA TA de DA
This is going to be fun filled and I'm sure that a weekend isn't going to be long enough to say or do all we want to!!!! But we sure will try.
Cracker Barrel is the best...the only time we ever had problems was one up in New Jersey.....Ceil, can you remember the city?
Jim in reading it has been known for Osprey to land onto a ship. So many on the blog there are praying Deshar finds one. I'm sure you too Jim have read that. They say his device that sends back information is working fine.
Margie Sent your message to Yahoo....... Let me know you got it

Off to eat a Buckeye...... BBL

I'm still eating buckeyes..... lol

Is Lolly back yet?
Sounds like Wanda and Mits had nice weekends!
Watching the Dancing show :)
Red - don't forget the cheese and egg on top of the grits as well!
I want to know what a buckeye is, too!
PAULA COMPTON
You googled it the last time I
mentioned it - you even put the
entire description!! Remember it
looks like a Buckeye but it tastes
like chocolate covered peanut butter!
Hey Sharon - I have a jar filled with 123 Stink Bugs and they are
coming your way! lol
MITS - I threw the apple out in the
yard for the bunny rabbits...
He knows I have them - they were on his credit card - Hubby just doesn't know how many I have eaten.....
LOL Jo, I thought we had discussed it before....off to go google...
I remember it now :):)
The buckeye confection, made to resemble the tree's nut, is made by dipping a spoonful of peanut butter fudge in milk chocolate, leaving a circle of the peanut butter exposed. These are a popular treat in Ohio, especially during the Christmas and NCAA college football seasons.
Mema Jo, when should I start checking my mail?
It is being sent Priority Mail --
Probably Thursday!
The only thing I suggest is that you follow the instructions of:
HOLD NOSE UPON OPENING
That is correct, we did talk about them before...so is it a candy?........WOW, Sharon what a treat:)
this show Worst Week or whatever is kinda weird...off to watch Boston Legal
Margie look in your Yahoo Mailbox

Sharon if the lid is on tight us a mask like people use to mow with; before removing the lid. lol
I hope stink bugs will be gone by the time I get there. They look and sound disgusting. I don't like bugs!
I think a good frost might take care of them Deb:)
Jo, glad to see that Vicki is coming to open house! What about Norma? Lisa?
Did anyone send an email to Lisa at BW to see if she can come?
Gnite, all!
That is quite a list of people coming to the open house. We should have a great time. I am totally wiped tonight and don't know why. Off to bed. Twins have a one game playoff with White Sox tomorrow, GO Twins!!
DEB, the stink bugs are just a temporary nuisance and they don't bite or sting. They only stink when you squash them. Not to worry.
Good night to all. Pleasant dreams and peace.
My puter won't allow me to open up the guest list. Can someone copy and paste it into an email to me? Please. wewdew@verizon.net
don't know Paula, re: Lisa
mine won't let me open it either, Wanda..our computers don't have the right program to open it, this has happened to me before with some things
Jo knows we can't open it
