GOOD MORNING, EVERYONE. Listening to "Deep Purple" sung by Bea Wayne, 1937...."Swinging Years" on the local jazz station Sunday mornings.Just beautiful stuff.C(°ﮡ°)DJim
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE...Ahh, Jim, you bring back wonderful memories of my sweet teen years. I don't recall Bea Wayne, but Deep Purple, by The Platters (I believe) was one of my favorites to dance with my boyfriend (now hubby) and we still love to dance to it. Thanks for the memories.
Good Morning Eagle Buds. Today is Nationa Grandparents Day ! So enjoy, if you are one, if you have them, or if you just feel like one sometimes ! From Google:National Grandparents Day is a United States secular holiday celebrated on the first Sunday after Labor Day. The official song of National Grandparents Day is "A Song For Grandma And Grandpa" by Johnny Prill. The official flower is the forget-me-not.Let's hear it for the Grandparents, and the Grandchildren that make it happen !xoxo
Good morning, everyone. The sun is shining brightly here, but it is going to be a cool day in the 60's.
Good morning everyone. The sun is trying to come out in Bluefield. I have to work a while today so I will be on and off!

It put its beak up closer to the camera for one refresh..almost looked like a vulture !
Okay Costume: Go for the Merry Heart - - - we'll join ya' Hi to GeeGee please, and Gene. With Love and a Hug too !
Whatver it is at BWO - there are two of them now..trying to get a capture of it...

Morning, all!Just a quick check in...Got Mom admitted last night...she is in good spirits and doing well...have to grab a shower and head back down the road to my brother's, where we will have a little bbq on the grill and then go visit with Mom.Thanks for your prayers for her. She is a strong, stubborn (but not stupid) woman, and knows that she needs to be in the hospital, and then probably rehab to get better!Mits, I'll yell at ya going round the beltway...she is at Holy Cross...Pleased with her care so far...but will be vigilant in assuring she gets good care and is taken care...that's my new role...and also to keep her spirits up, which at this time are excellent.I'll check in when I can! Have a great Sunday, weather is pretty today...and Happy Grandparents Day!
Oh, and thanks for the pics of our Royal Couple!
Does look like it in the beak and head at least doesn't it ?Not exactly as pretty as an Eagle, Huh ?Well, gotta hit the hay now, back in at midnight to I better catch some z's - back up to play later.xo
PAULA, will wave as we go by there today......let me know if you need anything.....:)

There's a very good and complete update on the Loch Garten eyasses today.C(°ﮡ°)DJim
I don't know if you settled it, but that large bird on the BWO nest is a Buzzard (Turkey Vulture).C(°ﮡ°)DJim
well, the only thing to look forward to today is getting back to see the nice people that sit around us, and seeing the new live Ravens flying into the staduim..not much hope for a victory, but it is just A GAME:)BBL
Did you read the details on Moray's end?It seems he encountered several storms and was blown this way and that before settling in the area where found. His brother is still alive, but he's been blown by the storms clear over to Ireland!I guess it's very good that Nethy and Dashar found some good feeding grounds and are holding there until the weather clears.C(°ﮡ°)DJim
BBL Son visiting
Does anyone recall the name of those beautiful yellow flowers backing up the BWO nest?? It is "...something...sunflower" I think.C(°ﮡ°)DJim
Lovely Sunday Afternoon to Everyone in Eagleland!Sad news about Scotland osprey :>(Loved Sharon's hairdo--& now she's grown feathers! LOLPaula, glad your Mom is in good spirits--thoughts & prayers.Jimk, we have those flowers in the Fall along the riverside at the Park. I'll have to look them up--are called some kind of sunflower among other names.
UPDATE ON ATLANTA CUB. He is doing well and so is Lun. She is eating more and he is getting his panda coloring.
I think I stumbled onto the name of that yellow flower:Coreopsis or tickseed.C(°ﮡ°)DJim
Fish Crow at BWO.C(°ﮡ°)DJim
The flower might also be called "Tickseed Sunflower" or "Golden Tickseed"; but there is one called Tickseed Sunflower, which is another unrelated plant.C(°ﮡ°)DJim
Yes, I found Tickseed Sunflower, found from N.Eng.thru VA, 1-5' tall, and blooms Aug. to Oct.,wet meadows, etc. Will ask at work tomorrow what they call it.
Read about ButaButa's b-day partyI know there is a new cub taking the spotlight, but I was very disappointed that the cam was not on the b-day girl that we have watched for 2 years! There are a dozen photos when you click down on the left side....
Hello all:) What a beautiful day today! I wanted to tell you that I saw two juvenile bald eagles circling above Shepherdstown today when I was at market. I just looked up and there they were, I watched them until I couldn't see them anymore, they went towards the river. Lots of white under their wings. Also, I saw Mason's mom today, he is very close to being sent to a rehab center, which is a huge step forward, please keep those positive thoughts, prayers and good vibes going for this remarkable young man- Going back outside to hang out with the hummers and butterflies. Hubby found some kind of fritillary caterpillar on my snapdragon plants- we stopped counting at 25- it's a jungle out here...
Thanks for popping in on such a beautiful day to be outside! Are you going to the Green Turtle on Monday?
Blogger cop ate my message. I agree Jo. they should have had the party on the cam. Hi, Megan.
I don't know- I hadn't really thought about it- I will be going to the musicians for Mason concert next Sunday in Sepherdstown at the Clarion.
That sounds like an excellent event Megan. I'll let you know IF I go tothe Green Turtle. Thanks for agreeing with me Ceil.I do feel they short-changed our little Atlanta Beauty!
Megan - can you find and send a linkwith info about the Music for Masonevent.
Ummm. hang on I'll see. Hello Ceil:)
I want to send it to Aaron up in Green Castle so maybe since he knows of Mason could attend.
there is a very worthy benefit that will be held on Sunday, September 14th at the Clarion Hotel here in Shepherdstown. It is 'Musicians for Mason' and is being held to help out a local young man who was critically injured in a car accident about a month ago. A musical benefit is especially appropriate as Mason was to enter Shepherd University as a freshman music major this fall. Brian and Sylvia - Mason's mom and dad - own Ellsworth Music and Catering here in Shepherdstown. The Speakeasy Boys (bluegrass), Love Machine (Motown/soul), and The I-Steadies with Sam Felker (rock) wil be playing beginning at 7:00 p.m. until 11, and tickets are $15 at the door.
I knew I had seen something about events by someone in his Guest BookSpeakeasy BoysSeptember, 14 2008 Musicians for MasonClarion Hotel, Shepherdstown, W VCost : $15 DoorMusicians for Mason Ellsworth Sat Sept. 14 7-11 pm $15 Speakeasy Boys 7-8pm I-Steadies Love Machine 50/50 Raffle Proceeds Benefit Mason
Now that should really bring in the funds for the family. You should really have a great time - quite a variety of music! Thanks!

Good grief the Raven won. 17 to 10.
Well, Ceil, you almost sound shocked! :)
Well, Ceil my grandson Quinn will be in Raven Heaven. I am anxious to hear what is said about the teams mascots - Ravens!
Hope you had a good time at the game MITS-congrats.
I'm JEALOUS! :( (In more ways than one.)
T-Bird - Maybe those Skins will come through for their fans next game!
I hope so Mema Jo-have there been any sightings?
Megan-sounds like you saw our juvies-how wonderful!!
I haven't caught any sight of them being at the nest. Maybe right before dark we will.
Going to see what is going to be our Sunday dinner. BBL
Later Mema Jo-have something nice. :)
Great Stuff on the Blog today, as usual. Hope all our Eagle Buds out there keep enjoying the day as it sounds we are doing so far...MEGAN - HOW SPECIAL, TO SEE MASON'S MOTHER TODAY ! THANKS FOR ALL THE UPDATES ON THE DOIN'S.Up from Panda Nap...got some chores to attend to. Sure is nice tgo "see" everyone..xoxo
Sharon I am shocked. Two of the quarterbacks are injured already. A rookie had to lead the team and he did a terrific job. Even ran in for a touchdown himself. I like to see that in a player. On opening day four fighter jets fly over the stadium. They have to fly right over my house very low. They are awesome
Megan when said that was maybe our juvies. Two of them used to hang together in the nest.
Jim and Loretta, They are tickseed sunflowers. Lisa at Blackwater answered my e-mail.
Good evening my wonderful eagle friends. Been a lazy day around the house. It is a wonderful thing. Tom had to go to the ER this morning, back hurting so bad. I really thought it was a kidney stone but they didn't find anything. I am so afraid he has blown another disk or the same one again. Gonna try to get someone to order an MRI this week. Ya'll keep praying.Missed the visitors this morning, thanks for the pics.
Wow, I would love to see those babies!! Bet that was great Megan!! Maybe we will get a glimpse of them at Open House. How wonderful would that be!!
Happy Grandparents Day to all!!
Where is everyone? I feel so alone!!
I'm here but I'm not sure how much that helps you. :) No eagles but I bet they are on the way.
Tell Tom I'm sorry about the Chiefs!!!
There is a thing on the History Channel about the Cold War Bunkers, including the one in White Sulfur Springs at the Greenbrier. Very cool.
Boy, now I know he is sick, he didn't even watch the game. Bummer!!!
We have a Mountaineer in the nest !
We have company!~
Wow - Don't feel so alone now do we ??xoxo
What a treat. I was getting ready to put up the computer for the evening.
Now Two !Holler Holler !!!
Both of them!!
I got two pics Sissy, will post them in a bit...Gotta keep watching first !Thelma, please tell me you and Buddy are watching ! Tell him to bark LOUD !
and gone!! Thanks Lib and Belle!!!
Good magpie, I tried but couldn't get it, need more practice.
Okay - I'll put them UP Sissy on Yahoo Eaglet Group, here I go..maybe they will return.Thelma: Was it your Magic Gaze that did it ??xoxo
Hi, eagle buds,Sorry Tom is no better, Sissy. MRI definitely indicated.Had a good time at the BBQ/Bluegrass festival....ground had dried up nicely, so no mud! Nice shade and a breeze. BUT.....concession truck generators were so loud that we couldn't hear the music unless we got about 15 ft. from the stages. One stage had no tables/benches/tree cover, and there was not a cloud in the sky!Did have some good food and they even had a "beer garden"...only had two drafts! I was stuffed! The Lazy A campground is in a serene setting, close to our big Back Creek; there were electric hook-ups, but I didn't see any sewer/water, nor a dump station. Also, campsites are all out in the open, w/ no trees. Saw what looked like a big bathhouse/restroom, but it was locked up. So, Lolly...check out the others we have mentioned here!Megan, sure hope those were two of ohr juvies you saw! Thanks for pic from this monring, Thelma! I really think we have a ghost...hope it's not one of the juvies.....
Congrats on Raven's win Mits, Ceil, Loretta, Jo, Megan and Paula!I, and I'm sure the Bluefield girls and Thelma, have our hopes up for our Skins next week!
HEading for a nice soak in tub, and maybe a little nap before Army Wives comes on. BBL!
You gotta be fast to catch these Evening Eagle Rascals...Sharon and I both got some pics up..HEDGIE: Thought about you today, would loved to have been there...Did you do some Clogging ?One of my dreams, to learn how to do that. When I grow up I want to be a Banjo player !I'm playing a Picking and Grinning CD right now...Got to head back for a Panda Nap..Love to all, Be at Peace tonight, Prayers for all for comfort, joy, serenity, wellness, safety, and for all our Military !TTFN..going in at midnight...xo
Wish I could get a Poop Shoot Facial for being #100 - I could really go for being turned into a Retired Person of Wealth !Hope Tom will be okay, Sissy....And Everyone else, who has health concerns.....and there are plenty of us in that category...
I have a nephew that plays in a Bluegrass Band. They have a couple of CDs out. They are really good. Love to go watch em play!!
She also has a nephew who is an awesome percussionist! I LOVE TO HEAR HIM PLAY! :)
Magpie, you did get the poop shoot facial!
Yeah, but I don't think of him as a nephew. He is half mine. And he really is an awesome percussionist.
True - sorry!
I fibbed - I didn't go to bed yet.Started to unload the dishwasher, one last act before naptime, got to the silverware, realized it wasn't clean. Checked the Soap Dispenser, realized I never turned it on! Had to backtrack and find everything I had already put away!I practically wash everything before it goes in anyway, but this is Gross! Good thing I live alone!BTW- Grandparents Day was first proclaimed by WV Governor Arch Moore in 1973 - then in 1978 WV Senator Jennings Randolph introduced into the US Senate and it became a National Holiday. Trivia for the night. Now! zzzzzzz xo
Whoa- Hedgie- I am not a Ravens fan...
