GOOD MORNING EVERYONE... Ahh, Jim, you bring back wonderful memories of my sweet teen years. I don't recall Bea Wayne, but Deep Purple, by The Platters (I believe) was one of my favorites to dance with my boyfriend (now hubby) and we still love to dance to it. Thanks for the memories.
Good Morning Eagle Buds. Today is Nationa Grandparents Day ! So enjoy, if you are one, if you have them, or if you just feel like one sometimes ! From Google:
National Grandparents Day is a United States secular holiday celebrated on the first Sunday after Labor Day. The official song of National Grandparents Day is "A Song For Grandma And Grandpa" by Johnny Prill. The official flower is the forget-me-not.
Let's hear it for the Grandparents, and the Grandchildren that make it happen !
Good Morning to Everyone out in Eagleland! It is a sunny cool beautiful day! Special Hello's to those here this Sunday morning. Margy, I just wish all the grandkids knew it was MY day today- However, they make EVERY day I have special!
Need to check out the end of yesterday's blog & my emails. I thank you Sharon sooooooo much for this morning's pictures! T-Bird - I think it is just the sunshine in the photo! Gives it a mystic look!
Time for church... Inspiration for the morning: A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones...and soul. Proverbs 17:22 KJV
MEMA - You got it right! Just the bubbly presence of youth....toddlers, adolescents, and older ones...can sure brighten up a dreary day.....
God Bless Us, Every One. (That one is from Tiny Tim of Dickens' "A Christmas Carol.")
xox Heading for the pillows soon Nice to "See" everyone here and there...Good Glorious Day to All, and for those who are working, well, I hope it goes quickly...xoxo
Got Mom admitted last night...she is in good spirits and doing well...have to grab a shower and head back down the road to my brother's, where we will have a little bbq on the grill and then go visit with Mom.
Thanks for your prayers for her. She is a strong, stubborn (but not stupid) woman, and knows that she needs to be in the hospital, and then probably rehab to get better!
Mits, I'll yell at ya going round the beltway...she is at Holy Cross...Pleased with her care so far...but will be vigilant in assuring she gets good care and is taken care...that's my new role...and also to keep her spirits up, which at this time are excellent.
I'll check in when I can!
Have a great Sunday, weather is pretty today...and Happy Grandparents Day!
So good to hear from you PAULA, and you know where we have you and your family: IN OUR CONTINUED PRAYERS. Sounds like she takes after her daughter: Wise and Sensible !
I know you are gone Paula. Prayers for your mom. HAPPY GRANDPARENTS DAY TO ALL. Helen keep it down at the stadium today. Don't want to come over there.
Helen you are going to have a great grandparents day knowing you are going to see the M&M's after the game! I know you have butterflies in the tummy feeling!
well, the only thing to look forward to today is getting back to see the nice people that sit around us, and seeing the new live Ravens flying into the staduim..not much hope for a victory, but it is just A GAME:)BBL
Lovely Sunday Afternoon to Everyone in Eagleland! Sad news about Scotland osprey :>(
Loved Sharon's hairdo--& now she's grown feathers! LOL Paula, glad your Mom is in good spirits--thoughts & prayers. Jimk, we have those flowers in the Fall along the riverside at the Park. I'll have to look them up--are called some kind of sunflower among other names.
The flower might also be called "Tickseed Sunflower" or "Golden Tickseed"; but there is one called Tickseed Sunflower, which is another unrelated plant.
Yes, I found Tickseed Sunflower, found from N.Eng.thru VA, 1-5' tall, and blooms Aug. to Oct.,wet meadows, etc. Will ask at work tomorrow what they call it.
Hello all:) What a beautiful day today! I wanted to tell you that I saw two juvenile bald eagles circling above Shepherdstown today when I was at market. I just looked up and there they were, I watched them until I couldn't see them anymore, they went towards the river. Lots of white under their wings. Also, I saw Mason's mom today, he is very close to being sent to a rehab center, which is a huge step forward, please keep those positive thoughts, prayers and good vibes going for this remarkable young man- Going back outside to hang out with the hummers and butterflies. Hubby found some kind of fritillary caterpillar on my snapdragon plants- we stopped counting at 25- it's a jungle out here...
there is a very worthy benefit that will be held on Sunday, September 14th at the Clarion Hotel here in Shepherdstown. It is 'Musicians for Mason' and is being held to help out a local young man who was critically injured in a car accident about a month ago. A musical benefit is especially appropriate as Mason was to enter Shepherd University as a freshman music major this fall. Brian and Sylvia - Mason's mom and dad - own Ellsworth Music and Catering here in Shepherdstown. The Speakeasy Boys (bluegrass), Love Machine (Motown/soul), and The I-Steadies with Sam Felker (rock) wil be playing beginning at 7:00 p.m. until 11, and tickets are $15 at the door.
Sharon I am shocked. Two of the quarterbacks are injured already. A rookie had to lead the team and he did a terrific job. Even ran in for a touchdown himself. I like to see that in a player. On opening day four fighter jets fly over the stadium. They have to fly right over my house very low. They are awesome
Good evening my wonderful eagle friends. Been a lazy day around the house. It is a wonderful thing. Tom had to go to the ER this morning, back hurting so bad. I really thought it was a kidney stone but they didn't find anything. I am so afraid he has blown another disk or the same one again. Gonna try to get someone to order an MRI this week. Ya'll keep praying.
Missed the visitors this morning, thanks for the pics.
Hi, eagle buds, Sorry Tom is no better, Sissy. MRI definitely indicated. Had a good time at the BBQ/Bluegrass festival....ground had dried up nicely, so no mud! Nice shade and a breeze. BUT.....concession truck generators were so loud that we couldn't hear the music unless we got about 15 ft. from the stages. One stage had no tables/benches/tree cover, and there was not a cloud in the sky! Did have some good food and they even had a "beer garden"...only had two drafts! I was stuffed! The Lazy A campground is in a serene setting, close to our big Back Creek; there were electric hook-ups, but I didn't see any sewer/water, nor a dump station. Also, campsites are all out in the open, w/ no trees. Saw what looked like a big bathhouse/restroom, but it was locked up. So, Lolly...check out the others we have mentioned here! Megan, sure hope those were two of ohr juvies you saw! Thanks for pic from this monring, Thelma! I really think we have a ghost...hope it's not one of the juvies.....
Congrats on Raven's win Mits, Ceil, Loretta, Jo, Megan and Paula! I, and I'm sure the Bluefield girls and Thelma, have our hopes up for our Skins next week!
You gotta be fast to catch these Evening Eagle Rascals...Sharon and I both got some pics up..
HEDGIE: Thought about you today, would loved to have been there...Did you do some Clogging ? One of my dreams, to learn how to do that.
When I grow up I want to be a Banjo player ! I'm playing a Picking and Grinning CD right now...
Got to head back for a Panda Nap.. Love to all, Be at Peace tonight, Prayers for all for comfort, joy, serenity, wellness, safety, and for all our Military !
I fibbed - I didn't go to bed yet. Started to unload the dishwasher, one last act before naptime, got to the silverware, realized it wasn't clean. Checked the Soap Dispenser, realized I never turned it on! Had to backtrack and find everything I had already put away! I practically wash everything before it goes in anyway, but this is Gross! Good thing I live alone!
BTW- Grandparents Day was first proclaimed by WV Governor Arch Moore in 1973 - then in 1978 WV Senator Jennings Randolph introduced into the US Senate and it became a National Holiday.
Well, my fine wonderful unfeathered friends, we are hitting the sack. Got up at 5:30 this morning to go to the ER. Been a long day!! See you all in the morning light.
Tom said hello and thanks for all the prayers. We are so blessed to have friends like ya'll!!
HI YA:)....we had a fun day today....shocked with the win...best part had dinner with the M&M girls...so much fun...we stopped by their home to give our son his birthday gifts...birthday is tomorrow...main gift was a beautiful Redskin pennant that lights that he can put behind his bar in his man room:)
the nice thing Megan is they remember me, even though I don't get to see them as much as the other grandmom....so there were lots of hugs and kisses for me...and that is a little slice of heaven on earth....
Just signing back in here to say goodnight to Sissy & Tom and also to Ceil! Lazy this evening - just reading articles. Thanking Sharon for the pics of tonight's visit that I missed. Early morning and early evening seems to be there routine.

It seems he encountered several storms and was blown this way and that before settling in the area where found.
His brother is still alive, but he's been blown by the storms clear over to Ireland!
I guess it's very good that Nethy and Dashar found some good feeding grounds and are holding there until the weather clears.
