Good morning all. Wow we just had one gorgoues week of weather here and I am looking forward to the start of another. I love Fall what a beautiful time of year it is. Hope you all will have a great day. I am off to see a friend recovering from some major surgery. I actually turned my stove on yesterday LOL.
Good morning everyone. Fall is here. I was up on the mountain Saturday (was tricked into going to an arts and crafts show)and noticed leaves are turning already. I love fall but Spring is my favorite season.
Lolly I know you already left for your trip. Enjoy your time traveling and all the sites. When every you arrive back will enjoy hearing about your adventures.
Glo I'm with you I love the colors that fall brings with it.
Robyn we had a dog also that only with food was there a problem with our other dog. So we fed one in the laundry room door closed. The other in the kitchen. Other than food they got along just fine.

Beautiful time of year...until the leaves start to fall and have to fire up the woodstove...then it's not so much fun. Red, I love calligraphy...have tried, but not artistic enough for it to be good! Let them know how you feel about the huge check they are going to give to Wall street, the check that we will all be accountable for (by the way, much of the money will come from China) they need to understand that American taxpayers are not going to sit back and watch them spend billions, even trillions while we foot the bill. The more people they here from, the more pressure on them to stop and think this out, rather than just handing the treasury a blank check. Remember, it is an election year for many of them. GOOD MORNING EVERYONE... I have a delema that I hope you all can help me with: I need a new fridge. and was thinking of getting a stainless one. Looking at them in the stores, I see fingerprints showing up badly on them. Do any of you have one and how difficult is it to keep clean? I am not one to go around wiping off things all day.
Loretta, if the kitten is ferrel, you will have a problem getting anyone to take it. At least that is the rule in our county. Even the Humane Society won't take it. Good luck. Poor thing.
Wanda...so glad you asked! I have one and I hate it!! Not only fingerprints (from the grands!), but nose spots from the dog. It also reflects light in a very irritating way. My advise....don't do it!!

Yep, I second that, stainless steel fridge isn't the easiest to keep clean, you almost have to use that cleaner they give you, and it is streaky. I wouldn't buy one again.
Oh, thank you all so much for your input on the SS fridge...NOT FOR ME!! GeeGee has a black, textured one and shows NOTHING, but it makes her kitch look gloomy, so I think black is out. May go for a beigie color. Must be textured.
Megan is that one of the vines you mentioned that the hummingbird is in?
The blue color of the tobacco hornworm is awesome. Oh what a cutie is the saddleback. A tiny funny dog with ears and a tail.
Gave information on corn maze to friends last year. I will sent out again for this year. I know there will be a lot of people going. So many neat things to do.
Dana, the vine the hummer is sitting in is cardinal climber, it's an annual, it blooms all summer, with hundreds of red flowers, and grows like a weed. It is growing up the side of my house with moon vine and spanish flag, all are annuals, and are almost up to the roof. The hummers love it, they sit all through the vines. As far as the saddleback, beware, it can sting, and is comparable to a bee sting, very nasty critter, we had never seen one, and made sure we didn't touch it when we took the pic. Hubby put it back in the woods afterwards.
I was looking at the SD site, and I accidentally clicked on the wrong button. Buttt... it led me to this wonderful page with articles about all the kinds of bears they have at the zoo.
Another report on the Loch Garten Osprey youngsters, but they are having such a good time feeding up on juicy fish that they might not migrate this year....
Wanda, and others, I never had experience with a stainless ice box (remember?).
However, I did assemble a stainless topped thingy for a table mounted product years ago.
In the assembly process these things would get totally printed and smeared and gross, but there is a stainless cleaner, which makes it look like new with very little effort...all you have to do is wipe with a clean dry rag until it dries (quick process).
I don't remember the name, but it looks something like Windex and has the word "Stainless" in the name. [I'm not sure, but I think Windex might work on stainless too, by the way.]
Hey - Hello to everyone!! Bet you all thought I was lost. Dana called me last night to see if I was still alive. We talked for a while - it was nice of her to check on me. I have been so busy, busy, busy lately. The small amount of time that I have for the internet is usually spent checking on the news and on politics. I have gotten "hooked" on the campaign and am spending lots of time reading websites, listening to talk radio and watching the commentators on CNN, FOX and MSNBC in the evenings. I won't know what to do with myself after the election. I hope that everyone on here is doing well. I still see an occassional osprey or eagle on my way to and from work, but not nearly as many as last year. Well - I need to get back to work. I will see many of you at the Open House and dinner afterwards.
Nah, surely not Carol, everyone was too happy to see you. Reckon everyone is heading home, cooking supper, fun stuff like that. I have an early supper since Tom is on 2nd shift now. This is my down time (love that).
Hey Wanda - did you ever get another fox picture for that other 8x10 picture frame? Thought I would ask since Bob is on and he'll be coming up for Open House........
HELLO:):):), had a great day....Wanda was just telling my d-i-l, that come January I wanted to get SS appliances, since my kitchen is 10 years old...wanted to spruce some things up before we actually sell the house....and she said not only does it smear, but, is scratches like crazy....she said my rings would destroy them...so guess I will just clean and paint, and she has top of the line stuff
Helen, it would seem to me that the only way you could have Stainless Steel and have it look nice, would be if you are a fussy housekeeper, which I am not. I like things to look nice, but my life is too busy to tend to those LITTLE things.
BOB, I have never seen the 0101b.jpg photo. It is adorable and would go perfectly with the one I have. If you can, please bring it with you and IT IS MINE!
Mits - I just somehow knew we were going to get a very good report on how enjoyable your day was! Thanks for passing on all our love and kisses to our Littlest Eaglets!!!
and they said right backatcha, Jo...of course they would say that if they could talk in sentences....Maggie is doing really well, but still not walking by herself yet....they said that will come with time...and Molly is really do well herself, we think she might take off walking soon...
Hey, Bob....I was just talking about you yesterday evening!! We thought we'd lost you! Foxes look like they are making them selves quite at home at...??your house??? Hi, Carol. So glad you are coming to Open House, too! Sissy, unless someone saw eagles w/o mentioning it, last visit was last evening. Jim, good update from the Islands! Great photog, too!
I know, Sissy. Maybe in the next couple of years...think they are up in the air about whether they will try next year or not...think they said maybe 2.
right now there is no decision whether to try and breed Mei next spring...but it would be nice to have a cub, since Tai will be going back to China after he turns 4
One small problem finding ISS: CLOUDS! But I did catch the "tail end" of it for about a minute. Good thing, no more ISS for the rest of this month...some of other satellites might be visible here and there...
Monday, September 22 People who choose a career in animal care can often times get their thanks in a manner different than those who choose other professions – watching an animal enjoy an enrichment item, achieve the next step in training, experience a breakthrough in trust, or sometimes, it may be something as simple as a look.
Although it may seem that all eyes are focused solely on Lun Lun and her cub, the giant panda staff is not single minded. They continue to care for the needs of Yang Yang and Mei Lan, in addition to those of Lun Lun and the cub. The thanks for this dedicated team comes with each gram of weight gain the cub experiences, every additional piece of bamboo, biscuit or fruit that Lun Lun eats which aids milk production. Seeing Mei Lan play out in the day room, or watching Yang Yang enjoy a particularly succulent batch of bamboo and the knowledge that what they do makes a difference in the lives of these particular animals and to the giant panda species.
Today the team can take satisfaction in the fact that this morning the cub weighed 718.4 grams, which is a gain of 74 grams in the last 24 hours! Debbie Forde Curatorial Assistant
As God is my witness, as God is my witness they're not going to lick me. I'm going to live through this and when it's all over, I'll never be hungry again. No, nor any of my folk. If I have to lie, steal, cheat or kill. As God is my witness, I'll never be hungry again.
Hey Wanda - I took a quick stab at re-doing that photo. The resolution is low so it needs to be cropped a little larger to print at 8x10. It's probably a smidgen too dark but I sharpened it up. I think it's a little better than the other copy:
I'll never forget the spoof Carol Burnett did on Gone with the Wind where she made the dress from the curtains with the curtain rod still in the dress.

GOOD MONDAY A.M., AND HAPPY FALL EVERYONE......
I love this time of year, warm days, cool nights, awesome colors:)
see you in a little while, Ceil
Good morning,
I too love this weather...
I bet the leaves will be turning earlier this year.
Good morning everyone!
Hello Sharon, how are you?
Deer at PA pix, sea eagle at Finney. Animals everywhere this morning.
Ceil and Mits, kiss those M&M girls for me, okay?
Good morning everyone. Fall is here. I was up on the mountain Saturday (was tricked into going to an arts and crafts show)and noticed leaves are turning already. I love fall but Spring is my favorite season.
Ha Ha Red....
Red lol "tricked into going". Sorry
for your pain. I see you found
some enjoyment even with all
the pain of attending
the show. lol
Will do, Sharon.....;)
GOOD MORNING EAGLE BUDDIES!!----WHOA!!!!!!!!-----CHECK OUT LUN LUN'S NECKLACE!----ADORABLE!!!
Good morning, everyone. I must be the only fall disliker! I like the beginning of fall, just don't like the later part of it.
Precious little baby all alone!
Mei and Tian taking a break:)
I am starting to like the fall more as I get older. Summer is still my most favorite time of year though.
Snagged the baby up for an exam.
darn they had it on the exam room, and then took it off
The craft show was not too painful as I did find some pretty good calligraphy (I do Calligraphy too).
Just for a second they show them examing baby Luney. Mask, gloves the whole nine yard the people had on.
Red, you are multi-talented:)
Lolly I know you already left for your trip. Enjoy your time traveling and all the sites.
When every you arrive back will
enjoy hearing about your adventures.
Glo I'm with you I love the colors
that fall brings with it.
Calligraphy is not a talent, Mits. It's a learned art that anyone can learn if you can draw a straight line.
Now Red, that is spoken like someone who is talented. I don't think I could do that at all. Lucky to be able to print legibly.
Here's an example of one of my calligraphy pieces. And you should see my regular handwriting. lol
Mother
When I peeked in on LUN LUN & RHETT/LUN---He was lying in the crease of her neck & it appeared she was wearing a necklace!!!---LITTLE IMP!!
Time for baby Luney to get human wash off lol
Robyn we had a dog also that only
with food was there a problem with
our other dog. So we fed one in
the laundry room door closed. The
other in the kitchen. Other than
food they got along just fine.
RED you are quite a CALLIGRAPHER!---I used to try calligraphy--but not even close to your class!!---
YOU ARE GOOD!
Thanks Norma but it just take lots and lots of practice.
RED!---Thanks for the info on the humming bird feeder!----Last year I used plain sugar water----but gave up!----This year a friend gave me a premixed package (pink in color)!---just add water!!---They are loving it!!---scanned GOOGLE & found others using it!!!---Next season will try without color!!!!

Double up those kisses & hugs for the M&M gals & give them some for me
Since we know so early in Little Luney life that he is a boy - we don't wait anxiously for the exam info - except for the Eye Openings!
That reminds me - it is time to get ready for me to head out the door for the eye exam! I am so thankful for my sight! Beautiful day again!
You can't scare me, Margy lol

Wow, 11:44---Fall is beginning!
Happy New Season Everyone!
Also...the stainless cleaner that they give you with it makes a terribly streaky mess....maybe I just don't have enough elbow grease to buff it out, but...pain in the arse!
Wanda, I have been told stainless steel if textured or brushed will not show fingerprints.
Red, mine is brushed!!!
Yep, I second that, stainless steel fridge isn't the easiest to keep clean, you almost have to use that cleaner they give you, and it is streaky. I wouldn't buy one again.
Sorry, don't mean to be all preachy today, but outdoor, and ferile cats kill about 700 million birds a year..
Oh, thank you all so much for your input on the SS fridge...NOT FOR ME!! GeeGee has a black, textured one and shows NOTHING, but it makes her kitch look gloomy, so I think black is out. May go for a beigie color. Must be textured.
I don't know about stainless steel. I was just passing on what I have been told.
Stainless Steel is so pretty. :(
Brushed is good. I have some faucets that are brushed bronze and they look nice far longer than the others.
THANKS...back to work.
Wanda, Maybe different brands act different. I would go look at them and put sticky fingers on them and compare. lol
Mine is a Frigidaire.
Off to Post Office and a few other errands. BBL!
Lots of panda nappin' goin' on!! (wish I was a panda)

Hey - Hello to everyone!! Bet you all thought I was lost. Dana called me last night to see if I was still alive. We talked for a while - it was nice of her to check on me. I will see many of you at the Open House and dinner afterwards.
Good to hear from you Carol! Is that your doggie?
HIS MAJESTY, KING LIB, how cute is that, paula...
CAROL, that is wonderful..it will be so good to see you again!
Paula - that's not my dog, but looks exactly like him - a Norwegian Elkhound.
Wanda - It will be good to see you and everyone else too.
There was one eewwiiee at BWO, and now it looks like another just crash landed there too...now only one again
So,what's everybody doin'?
Me and Mattie are eating pineapple upside down cake and watching Oprah.
Sure is quiet around here. Where'd everybody go?
Maybe I scared everyone off - showing up after so long. ;-)
Nah, surely not Carol, everyone was too happy to see you. Reckon everyone is heading home, cooking supper, fun stuff like that. I have an early supper since Tom is on 2nd shift now. This is my down time (love that).
I see little Luney's butt sticking out of Mommie's arm!
Gonna go take a panda shower!! BBL!
A PANDA SHOWER?? Is that a long one or short one?
CAROL...everyone took off when you came on cause they thought the sky was falling! LOL
I think you have to eat bamboo when you take a panda shower.
Whoa- first long lost Carol, Hey Carol:)-then Bob shows up..Hey Bob:)
Hey!
Not to be too funny but I'm not so sure what defines a "Panda Shower"
I know how Lun Lun gives Little Luney a shower.
Well Megan, if Carol didn't scare everyone away looks like I took care of the rest.
Hey Wanda - did you ever get another fox picture for that other 8x10 picture frame? Thought I would ask since Bob is on and he'll be coming up for Open House........
No, Bob,that could not be true..see, Jo is here:)
No comment on the Panda Shower methodology.
BTW... the girls loved all the hugs and kisses you all sent:)
Bob, you are a hoot! Bamboo with a shower. If anyone could do that, it would be Sissy! LOL
Jo, Bob said he doesn't see foxes very often. But, I know if he does, he will snap it! I am waiting. I LOVE my photo.
Helen, it would seem to me that the only way you could have Stainless Steel and have it look nice, would be if you are a fussy housekeeper, which I am not. I like things to look nice, but my life is too busy to tend to those LITTLE things.
Wanda - The ones about halfway down this page were all the same day as yours. It was the closest I've ever been:
Foxes
Ok, so panda shower may not have been the best choice of words. Mine was certainly nothing like the one Lun Lun gives little luney!!
Hi Bob!
Phew..you had some of us worried, Sissy!
Hi Mits, glad to hear ya'll had a good day. How are the M&M girls?
Yeah, that is a pretty rough visual!!
It is hard to tell what I was looking at the atlanta cam, but I think little luney is hiding in there.
When was the last eagle visit to our nest?
they are fantastic, Sissy, thanks for asking:)
I haven't had a chance to look at the weekend blog. Where are you now Mits? Still at the beach or back on dry land?
There is Little Luney!! Look at has black his little jacket has gotten
Deer at PA pix
BOB, I have never seen the 0101b.jpg photo. It is adorable and would go perfectly with the one I have. If you can, please bring it with you and IT IS MINE!
That is meant to be typed to say...
How black his little jacket is..
& then look at those black little ears and the little black eyes!!
Well he looks like a Panda
I am back on dry land in Bethesda, Sissy:)
I know, Jo, he is a little mini-panda now!
WHOO HOO BOB You need to tell us what car you will be driving to the Open House so we can usher you around and then guide you to the dinner!
Pandas flaked out all over the place. Wish I was a panda!!
Wanda - You can probably tell from looking at it that photo is not quite in focus but I can still make one if you'd like.
Little Luney visible under Mom's chin!
Catch y'all later. Off to brave DC traffic then to Harris Teeter for weekly food shopping.
Just got a good view of Lun's baby....he is really looking like a panda now!!
Looks like he wants to do a little exploring, but Lun isn't going to let him go anyplace! She's a good mom.
If Mollie takes off I bet that Maggie will just follow - That will be Maggie's time!!
I think you are right, Jo....its good that they have Molly...and yet, they still want more:)
Luney is getting harder and harder to hang on to. Lun is a good mom but I still wish we were watching Mei with a cub!!
You can see Little Luney being held in Lun Lun's arm...........
I know, Sissy. Maybe in the next couple of years...think they are up in the air about whether they will try next year or not...think they said maybe 2.
right now there is no decision whether to try and breed Mei next spring...but it would be nice to have a cub, since Tai will be going back to China after he turns 4
Taking a short break...
BBL
Gotta go out for a while, BBL.
SISSY -
Last Eagle View OUR NEST was last night around around 7:38 - DEB got a picture of it...
ISS tonight in Berkeley County around 7:44 WSW 51-degrees..
One deer at salt lick, PA
Two or maybe three now...
One small problem finding ISS: CLOUDS! But I did catch the "tail end" of it for about a minute. Good thing, no more ISS for the rest of this month...some of other satellites might be visible here and there...

People who choose a career in animal care can often times get their thanks in a manner different than those who choose other professions – watching an animal enjoy an enrichment item, achieve the next step in training, experience a breakthrough in trust, or sometimes, it may be something as simple as a look.

That's a nice little documentary, MITS, from the Atlanta Panda Assistant..
Thanks!
OUR Eagles have given us the slip tonight...all day in fact..."There's always another day."
All quiet at WildWatch too, so far.
I guess that should be: Tommorrow is Another Day
Yes, Scarlett!!!
Frankly my dear...
Yes, we have that unbridled optimism, don't we....
Sorry, that's the only quote I know from that movie..
"AS GOD IS MY WITNESS, I WILL NEVER GO HUNGRY AGAIN" I think this is a very suitable quote from the movie for us. We are always hungry. LOL
As God is my witness, as God is my witness they're not going to lick me. I'm going to live through this and when it's all over, I'll never be hungry again. No, nor any of my folk. If I have to lie, steal, cheat or kill. As God is my witness, I'll never be hungry again.
We think alike Wanda.
Who's hungry?? I just made chocolate chip cookies, they're still warm...
Holy cow.....I didn't know "GONE WITH THE WIND" was on...I don't know nothin bout birthin no babies:)
I had some chocolate chip cookies today at my d-i-l's, so i will pass, Megan
BOB...GREAT MINDS!
But Miss Scarlett, I don't know nothing bout birthing babies!
That's a good one too, Helen.
"I'm very drunk and I intend on getting still drunker before this evening's over."
Excuse me, that was a misquote -
Miss Scarlett, I don’t know nothing about birthing no babies!
OMG - Mits - great minds!
Hey Wanda - I took a quick stab at re-doing that photo. The resolution is low so it needs to be cropped a little larger to print at 8x10. It's probably a smidgen too dark but I sharpened it up. I think it's a little better than the other copy:
Fox
Glad you are on here, RHETT; the photo is wonderful...please bring it with you.
That is one beautiful picture, Bob.
PERFECT, BOB!!
I'll never forget the spoof Carol Burnett did on Gone with the Wind where she made the dress from the curtains with the curtain rod still in the dress.
lol....Sharon....
Oh, I remember that, I loved that show.
