Sissy, this is the update I got from zoo last week.....
Mei and Tian
Laurie says: “We are putting Mei and Tian together in the early mornings for about an hour. This occurs M-F only (since there are no senior vet staff here on weekends). Once Lisa is back from China we may extend their time together but for now we are keeping things short and sweet! Everything is going great and there has been lots of play.”

Megan, sorry you are feeling bad. Isn't it horrible when just have to let it run it's coarse. Just sleep and drink lots of water. And, I am sure that doughnut is gone by now. Hungry critters out there! It gave me a chuckle! :)Good going, Red!
Looks like we will be cancelling our beach trip or at least postponing it. Can you believe it is possibly coming in right where we were going?! We will go a week later, if they are still there, have electricity, etc. We should be getting rain this weekend from Ike. Just do not need the wind.

Hello again.... Just finished lunch after returning from Dr - I'm looking pretty good as long as I cut back on the carbos & starches & take my meds!! I love BREADS.....
That is one interesting looking caterpillar... Glad hubby didn't touch it.
I am headed for a short panda nap It is sooooooo gorgeous outside!
Hi all. Sorry you are ailing, Megan...feel better soon! Red's donut would have sure made me feel better if I was sick! Lolly, too bad...it's just that time of year...beach trips can be real "iffy" until Nov. I've had my share of dealing w/ the 'canes and trips thru' the years! Great update on baby panda...thanks, Helen!
Oh well, we had such a great time last year . Maybe next year. I had better get back to work. It was $300 for invitations to be printed and I did them all for under $50. The look just the same as the ones she wanted. I'm really proud of myself. BBL
Just completed a video web cam call with SGT Patrick over in Iraq. Connection was not the greatest BUT I could see him and he could see me. Voice was broken so we just typed our conversation. Was 12:45am over there - he was headed for bed. WOW! That made my day!
Patrick said he has received cards and letters from Momsters! I love you all for sending him your thoughts! He said that if he can find some time he will try to answer you
Good evening my fine eagle friends. We got great news today. Tom is not going to need surgery!!! His back is still bothering him really bad but exercise and rest in moderation will help the problem, we think. They are going to refer him for physical therapy and a neurologist for a nerve conduction study to make sure the problem is not in the legs but, now that we know it is not his lumbar spine, I think he will do better. Fear is a terrible thing!!
Sharon, has your hubby tried the Lidocane Patches? GeeGee uses them when we take her out, in addition to her pain pills. They give her a little extra relief. I have used them on my knee when I am inbetween cortisone shots. Works great! I would imagine he has tried everything, but thought I'd mention it. So glad he doesn't need surgery.
Great news, Sissy!! Tell Tom that we are relieved for him and will continue to pray. Also....tell him to take the fat wallet out of his hip pocket...walletitis is a verified condition...men who sit on wallets can damage the sciatic nerve.
Jo, I think tomorrow is suppose to be the nicest day of the week. GO FOR IT!
No shop work today...GeeGee day. She can no longer go up and down the stairs very easily, so Gene and I moved her fridge out of her Mud Room and made arrangements to have the room plumbed for washer and dryer. She is so happy, she is just bouncing around! It's my greatest joy to make my Mom happy.
I have been sitting here for so long, looking at refrigerators and stoves, that I didn't realize it was dark outside. I wondered why our nest looked like the middle of the night. I don't see anything, Sharon.
My dear Margy, I don't very often catch you on here anymore. How is little grandson doing? I like to meet the little fella. No water balloons for me though!
Megan, how are you? Let us know. We are worrying about you!! Thanks everyone for all the well wishes!! Gonna go find something on the boob tube!! Sweet dreams all!!
Soon as I talked about the PA deer it moved on....sorry folks....I might have gotten a pic, gonna check my picture album.. did get a grab of the tail feathers at WildWatch.
DANA got a great foggy morning capture from that nest earlier today !
COSTUME LADY: When you check back in: I have been on midnights all week so don't get on here much, having trouble sleeping during the day so keep working on it.... Hope to see little James Thursday night. And he would love to meet you too...maybe we can set it up sometime when I have him here for a visit !
I usually send boxes ... Put a date on the back of the next card you send & I will have Patrick and/or Ryan get the word to me about the length of time in transit. I'll try to get the answer that way or by way of gd Christine.
I think I am going to wear RED Thursday the 11th AND Friday this week....Don't think so many of our troops would be in Iraq, or Afghanistan, or many other places right now if not for September 11...
Hi, everyone. I am having to compete for computer time with my temporary roommate. If everyone could keep her in your prayers, she had her second round of tests today after abnormal cells in her last pap. Pretty scary for her, she is just 22 years old. The doctor found more abnormal cells today, so they did a biopsy. The results won't come back for a week. She seems pretty calm on the outside, but I know she is worried.
Shutting down for the night.....loooooooong day at the zoo today, but weather was beautiful...going to the Pentagon tomorrow for the opening of the new 9-11 memorial, so have to leave at 6:30a.m......we are supposed to be in our seats at 8:00a.m., think the dedication starts at 9:30. I remember when Jay and I visited there the Sunday after 9-11, and you saw the gaping hole, and could still smell the jet fuel 5 days after the attack. Will never ever forget it:(
One of the osprey with the transmitter has moved down the river. On Monday it was 70 miles south of Sioux City. Not many of them are coming to the tower for food anymore. We are still putting out food to supplement them so they are strong for the trip south.
A park ranger found a poor little migrator that got hit by a car today. I was so glad it wasn't one of our birds, I want to keep believing they are all still alive. Janie just reminds me that is very unlikely.
Prayers for your temp roomie, Deb. Praying the results will come back in her favor.
This Sat is the Family Reunion & it is at a local park - hubby's side of the family. Will be good to see them all again... One sil always brings me peanut butter fudge... So yummy!
I shutter at the sadness of tomorrow. Memories will be of that morning - I know exactly where I was standing & what I was thinking! I know the phone call to my daughter that told me she had not traveled to NY and was still in MD made me give Thanks to the Lord. Her office was right beside the twin towers. I will pray for all those families that were not as fortunate as I was.
Sad evening here. My sisters wolf, Comanche, passed away today at age 13. A long life for a wolf, but it was sudden and unexpected and heartbreaking for sis and bro-in-law. They are broken-hearted. Thankful that they were both with her when she crossed over, tho'. She is their second hybrid...Dakota was killed by a snake bite 13 yrs. ago.
Helen, sure you will have an emotional day tomorrow. Did you know any one at the Pentagon? My BFF since college was on her way from her DOD office in Rosslyn to a meeting in the Pentagon at the time of the attack. Most people brush me off when I say it, but I have always felt that 9-11 was intentionally chosen as the date for the attacks because of the meaning of 911. Many prayers being said tonight for all who need them, but mostly for peace in the hearts of mankind and nature. Goodnight.
I have only had time to read today's blog, from about 6pm on.
Glad to hear Tom doesn't need surgery, that Megan is feeling better, Happy Birthday a little early Sgt Ryan, Prayers for Deb's roommate, and remembrances for our fellow Americans who lost their lives on 9/11, and prayers for any one else I missed.
We haven't been able to move Mom into a nursing home yet, we were hoping that was today, but today she has taken a turn for the worse. She is in the ICU unit...she has emphysema and has problems breathing. So hopefully this is the bump in the road she has to go over to get better. I have to go to work for a couple of hours in the morning, then I will be back at the hospital. I hope to be home again Friday night, I'll try to check in and say hello.
Keeping all of you in my thoughts and prayers, and thank you for yours.
Way past my bedtime... So many prayers are needed tonight. We feel the pain of those asking for prayer, for we have all been there. It is now 9-11 and there are so many who have been touched personally by the events of that day...special prayers for them.
GREATER LOVE HATH NO MAN THAN THIS, THAT A MAN LAY DOWN HIS LIFE FOR HIS FRIENDS. John 15:13 KJV

Hubby just found this in the garden..saddleback caterpillar interesting looking, but they can sting-turns into a moth.
Good morning everyone! Still morning here anyway!
We were going to get the trailer today and start loading. Guess now I will just clean house. Yuk!
Thanks, Lolly- so sorry you had to postpone your trip.
And they really sting. Just have to touch one and it burns like fire and itches bad afterwards. We used to get them in the cornfields and you sure had to wear a shirt to prevent brushing against them
Yeah, I was reading how badly they can make you feel when they sting-never seen one before, took a pic from far away.
Hello again.... Just finished lunch after returning from Dr - I'm looking pretty good as long as I cut back on the carbos & starches & take my meds!!

Sharon, has your hubby tried the Lidocane Patches? GeeGee uses them when we take her out, in addition to her pain pills. They give her a little extra relief. Great news Sissy,
Now its time for me to get out of here. See Y'all tomorrow.
Jo, I don't see the turtle shell in the nest anymore...I'll bet its laying on the ground under the tree.
Great news, Sissy!! Tell Tom that we are relieved for him and will continue to pray. Also....tell him to take the fat wallet out of his hip pocket...walletitis is a verified condition...men who sit on wallets can damage the sciatic nerve.
Red, I know what you are going to the store for...cheesecake fixins!
Can you send your wife to the Open House with the cheesecake?
Got a hot date, Red??
Well Wanda - If tomorrow is as beautiful as today, I may just go over and take a look under the tree!
How you doing with getting everything ready in the shop?
No late evening visit to the nest yet
MEMA - That is great about your WEBCAM visit with Sgt. Patrick!
I can see where that would make your day!
SISSY - Great hopeful news regarding Tom....hope it continues to go well....
And I wonder how our litttle Megan is getting along this evening....
Not ruling out a nest visit tonight..but I bet if they show up it is going to be a quick one !
Did I just see an eagle in our nest?
Jo, I think tomorrow is suppose to be the nicest day of the week. GO FOR IT!
No shop work today...GeeGee day.
She can no longer go up and down the stairs very easily, so Gene and I moved her fridge out of her Mud Room and made arrangements to have the room plumbed for washer and dryer. She is so happy, she is just bouncing around! It's my greatest joy to make my Mom happy.
I'm watching didn't see it, saw something in the middle of the nest for a refresh but don't think it was Baldy
I have been sitting here for so long, looking at refrigerators and stoves, that I didn't realize it was dark outside. I wondered why our nest looked like the middle of the night. I don't see anything, Sharon.
Pa Woods does have a nice Buck...
You probably just saw his butt though if you looked - he is moving around quite a bit..so close a minute ago you could count chin hairs!
My dear Margy, I don't very often catch you on here anymore. How is little grandson doing? I like to meet the little fella. No water balloons for me though!

Going to watch America's Got Talent.

Margy, just had a good idea. Bring little James down to visit my shop next month. I think he will have fun there. Most kids do.
MEMA - SURE DID SEE IT ! HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR MAIL TO GET THERE?
I HAVE A WONDERFUL CARD TO SEND TO RYAN...
WANDA: Sounds like a good idea to me! xoxo
I mean PATRICK !!! US OLD LADIES HAVE A HARD TIME KEEPING THINGS STRAIGHT!
That was my question too, about how long will it take for a card to get to Iraq?
Megan - you have resurfaced...how are you feeling this evening?
I usually send boxes ...
Put a date on the back of the next card you send & I will have Patrick and/or Ryan get the word to me about the length of time in transit. I'll try to get the answer that way or by way of gd Christine.
I shoulda said : THIS Old Lady, no fair throwing anyone else into my statement !

I'm ok, still feeling sick, but better than I did earlier today.
I think I am going to wear RED Thursday the 11th AND Friday this week....Don't think so many of our troops would be in Iraq, or Afghanistan, or many other places right now if not for September 11...
Got my flag out too, always there...just a little one with a yellow ribbon woven through it, but it's always there..
Okay, Megan - hang in there...
We Care....
Thinking of everyone we haven't "seen" tonight and hoping all is well in all our Eagle Corners...
back in a little while...
MEGAN: As you know: GERMS HATE REST !!!
xo
Just noticed the time of my last post......911
That is eerie....
MEMA: Yes. I always stop in my tracks when I see 9:11 on digital clocks...say a prayer and be quiet til it rolls over to the next minute.
gave me a good chill, Margy!
Good to have you ladies with me during these times....such a pensive time...so many things to contemplate.
God Bless Us, Every One.
you are right about that, Margy....will never ever forget it:(
Just googled APO - which means Army Post Office,
and AE refers to Europe, Middle East, Africa and Canada.
AO would be to Kabul and Afghanistan.
FPO - is Fleet Post Office, for Navy.
Always wondered about all that.
GOGGLE is a wonderful thing:)
YES MITS - GOGGLE IS A GOOD THING, SO IS GOOGLE ! HA HA HA !
Love it, I am not the only one with tricky fingers !

Will never ever forget it:(
GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE AND GOD BLESS AMERICA!
Good Night Mits, will be thinking of you in the morning...
Hello DEB, tough news for your room-mate, those kinds of reports can really change your inner being. Prayers that all works out okay...
Have a good day, Helen. It is certainly a day we will never forget, can't imagine what it was like being so close to the Pentagon.
Prayers for your temp roomie, Deb.
Praying the results will come back in her favor.
This Sat is the Family Reunion & it is at a local park - hubby's side of
the family. Will be good to see them all again... One sil always brings me peanut butter fudge...
So yummy!
Deb, - Yes, so many birds, so many challenges....
I will now call it a day..A Good Day!
Dr said I was "NORMAL" lol
Good Night To All My Eagle Buddies
Peace to you & yours
Lots of prayers for everyone being said tonight..
(((HUGS)))
Good Night Mema, and those heading to the pillows.
Thursday will be a quiet thoughtful kind of a day.
Heading to work soon, at midnight.
Take Care, and Prayers.

Night, Jo. Tommie is expecting company, have to readjust to college age kids. Company at 10 o'clock. Oh well, it will keep her mind off of the tests.
Goodnight.

HEDGIE: Well Put, and Amen, your prayer wish.

Well, Eagle WAS there, maybe I scared him off.
Howdy, all.
God Bless You, Paula, thanks for checking in, sorry to hear of the downturn, good to know you can be there for your Mother...
'Night all.

Way past my bedtime... So many prayers are needed tonight. We feel the pain of those asking for prayer, for we have all been there.
It is now 9-11 and there are so many who have been touched personally by the events of that day...special prayers for them.
