Thanks STEVEN for the new thread---Thanks MAGPIE---always our #1 EAGLE MOM--today & every day!!---I just logged on the other blog & thanked everyone for telling me the EAGLE at LISA'S wasn't real!!-----I figured that out after watching off & on for about an hour!!!----ho!----RED--still have hummers drinking the red stuff!!---
Good Sunday Morning Everyone Hope your day is filled with lots of love and joy and maybe being able to see an eagle or two! Catching up on comments and emails and then off for an hour or so with family.
I am thankful that all our cards reached you this am Delphia! Have a very special day - it is all yours! Happy Birthday and may the year ahead be good to you
Norma, you say your hummers are still eating the Red stuff. I hope you dont' use food coloring. Food coloring is not good for hummers. They will drink sugar water without coloring.
Happy Pm to Everyone Been outside doing a rain dance and watering plants and flower pots!Heard some squealing high in the sky--large hawk circling.See Pandas are in the dark again today. Gotta do some stuff inside---never ends!
I did go pumpkin picking with Alexis but not to the Patch - to the front of the grocery store!!! We had eaten lunch (Burger King at you know who's request) and then upon leaving her thumb went in the mouth and head went down on her dad's shoulder. So in order to go home with a pumpkin we did a quick trip & she was very happy. Getting ready now to go over to daughter's for dinner. I love those kind of invitations.
Stare at the nest, Deb...can you see two eyes, a big, crooked nose and a droll little mouth?? I know...I have a vivid imagination!!Gotta see something when there's no eagle! Fun for the feeble-minded.
Hedgie - T-Bird should be flying high with the Skin's win just as you are! Just as is out army guy Patrick over in Iraq about this win!! Mits & Hubby should be once again be pleased with Ravens' win! Been doing good ever since they brought in the live raven mascots!!! Well it is early evening - I'm back - but not soon enough to see our visitor. I need to put my feet up for a few... Was standing out on daughter's deck watching the Hummers. She put out extra feeders so they wouldn't have to fight!
Lynn - I can't be sure if I can see the turtle shell in the dark and web covered nest? One day I will find a shell under that tree - I'll shellac it - and I'll keep it forever.
I have had one vote for rain, if so it lasted 5 seconds, that is how long my refresh is set at. My only other thought is maybe there was a big birdie above the cam.
Deb, you must have excellent vision, to see that little bit of an eagle tail and the strange precipitation all in the same evening. Glad you are one of us.
Sunday, September 21 The cub continues to grow and thrive under Lun Lun's care. This morning, he weighed 644.4 grams. His black coloration is very dark now and the fine layer of white fur he was born with is becoming thicker. Within the next week or two, his fur will get fuller and more dense, and he will finally look black and white instead of black and pale pink. After his coat grows in, the next milestone will be at 35-50 days after birth when his eyes will start to open! Heather Baker Roberts Keeper I, Carnivore Department
MEGAN - Great photos! the tobacco hornworm is specatular and I love the Saddleback. What kind of hummingbird is that? Never seen one like that around here, looks like it has a little black chin..
Those are ruby throated hummingbirds, that's all we get here. They are immature males from this season, the spots on their throats will eventually be replaced by the familiar red.
Okey Dokey Megan..thought maybe you had a transient...know it rarely happens, but your garden would be a welcome spot for such a visitor! Friend of mine in New York sometimes sees a rufous-sided, but he sees all kinds of rare things where he is....
Hi All! We are all loaded and heading out early in the morning. Have a good week and I will be back in a week or so. Just depends on what a good time we are having! :)
Thanks Megan for the link to the Ridgefield Farms. Maybe my family will take me there for my b-day and I can hear the Speakeasy Boys! I would love that.
I just finished watching the Raptor Force. It was very interesting, focused on the flight of the birds and how they are studying the birds to build faster, more maneuverable jets.
Great Weekend. Arrived at the hospital yesterday to find Mom had just been taken off the ventilator! Wasn't sure if they were really going to take her off as she had accumlated some fluid on her lungs (not good). But they were able to get it off and it's stayed off. So now she is breathing with some O2. She is one happy camper! I told her there were many people, that she didn't know, who only knew her as my Mom, that were praying for her and sending positive, healing thoughts her way. She wants to me to tell you "Thank You". She said she really needed them, and I told her she had them. She is now committed to getting herself into a much better physical condition. She doesn't ever want to be on the vent again. I saw her today also, and she continues to improve a little each day, gaining strength.
Thank you, each and every one, for all your positive thoughts and prayers for my Mom and my family.
That is wonderful news, Paula...as we approached Holy Cross hospital today....I saw black smoke and got scared.....but it was a car on the side of the outer loop fully engulfed in flames...hubby said call 911....I did...and got put on hold..but when they answered me, they already knew about it and were sending fire engines
MITS - Can understand your being put on hold...one incident on the interstate or major highway, and now with everyone having cell phones, everyone calls! Quickly leads to an overload of calls! But it is good that people call, because if everyone thought SOMEONE else would call, NO ONE WOULD!
My heart was in my throat, Paula, I was scared it was the hospital....I understand completely, Margy, and the woman was very nice and thanked me for calling....have not seen anthing on the news, so thankfully no one was hurt, I guess.
Panda Spiritual Break, JO - Try to get my head and heart on straight before heading in. Sometimes, unfortunately, we take calls of course, for people we know, relatives and friends, having emergencies. And wrecks, you never know if some of your people are in those cars or not....everyone in need is someone's loved one, that's for sure.
Hey, Jo...when is YOUR birthday???? Glad you are home with such good news, Paula! And good to hear that Gabby traveled well w/ Jane. Lolly, have a fun time. NO HURRICANES allowed!! Did anyone see the ads for the new Lifetime movie "Living Proof"? Harry Connick, Jr. stars as the doctor who invented the breast cancer drug Herceptin. Airs Oct.18th, so we shall have to set our tapes, as we will be busy!!!!
Robyn - I was reading back on yesterday's blog. I have had food issues with my 2 males also. Always feed the dominant one first. When I feed the second one, the dominant one (Nugz) has to either lay day in the kitchen while Boo eats, or go outside. If he is laying in the kitchen, I still keep my eyes on him and don't leave the room, because Nugz will try to steal Boo's food, but Boo won't try to steal his. When Nugz tries it, there's a lot of growling, and sometimes a fight - but not anything lately. I usually just step in and pull the bowl away. No food, no fight.
Yuck, fall. The only part of fall I like are the colorful leaves on the trees. Once they start coming down, I move to: Yuck! Allergies and 40' cottonwoods with tons of leaves. I always hope for wind that blows them away from my yard, not towards it. I wouldn't mind dealing with the piles of leaves quite so much if the trees were at least mine.

Hey, Jo, is that a turtle shell at about 11??
Knock, knock...anybody else home? Did anyone else see our resident "visitor"??
Darn, I missed the visit. Still lots of time to come back again.
Eagle at BWO!
Ravens have clinched this one! Congrats, my MD friends!
BWO is gone, I think it was same one as earlier. At least it was in the same spot.
Hi, Deb....almost dark...nest will be hard to see soon, thanks to spidey!
My Vikings one too. We are all happy campers, but I think the Steelers might be losing.
I wish I would have come to check a little earlier. I was watching the Steeler game.
Both SD and Atlanta Panda cams are interesting right now.
C(°ﮡ°)D
Jim
Lynn you beat me to it about the Ravens. I wanted to make sure it was over. Missed the visit.
Stare at the nest, Deb...can you see two eyes, a big, crooked nose and a droll little mouth?? I know...I have a vivid imagination!!Gotta see something when there's no eagle! Fun for the feeble-minded.
Hi Jim and Ceil! Congrats to ALL winning teams if they are your favs!!
What a life Lun has!! So content.
Hedgie - T-Bird should be flying high with the Skin's win just as you are! Just as is out army guy Patrick over in Iraq about this win!!
Mits & Hubby should be once again be pleased with Ravens' win! Been doing good ever since they brought in the live raven mascots!!!
Well it is early evening - I'm back -
but not soon enough to see our visitor.
I need to put my feet up for a few...
Was standing out on daughter's deck watching the Hummers. She put out extra feeders so they wouldn't have to fight!
Squirm-worm says "Mom, let me up for some air! Don't hold me so tight!"
Glad you had a nice day, Jo. Prop your feet up and relax!!
Anyone know how many teats a panda has? Do they run the full length of the trunk the way they do on dogs and cats?
Lynn - I can't be sure if I can see the turtle shell in the dark and web covered nest? One day I will find a shell under that tree - I'll shellac it - and I'll keep it forever.
BBL
Lun pats him just like we do a baby! So cute.
I think I see and eagle tail, darn, I should have said something when I first saw it. Gone now. I will send you two a picture and see what you think.
Panda has 4 teats, had to google it.
Check your mail, if you think it is an eagle tail, I'll forward it on to more.
Only the upper nipples are used when a panda cub is young, the lowers are used when the cub gets older. Interesting commentary, I will get the link.
Not the same image now, so maybe/probably it was, Deb!! Good grab!
Panda cub first week
Well SKINS won their game yea!!!!
Poor hubbys Steelers lost :(
ZZ is sure in a comfy seat and eating bamboo.
Baby Luney just got finish nursing.

DEB...that is very interesting. I don't think it can be snow, must be rain. Is that the PIX cam? What do the others think?
Wanda, I think it is probably a sprinkle of rain, too. There is a front coming through from that direction....
I have had one vote for rain, if so it lasted 5 seconds, that is how long my refresh is set at. My only other thought is maybe there was a big birdie above the cam.
Ooooh, Deb....better to think rain!!!
I knew it wasn't snow, but sure looks like it, doesn't it?
I agree, off to watch the Raptor Show! BBL
Deb, you must have excellent vision, to see that little bit of an eagle tail and the strange precipitation all in the same evening. Glad you are one of us.

Thanks all! Appreciate the good wishes. Jo, we will reply. Right now Jack is involved with the Cowboys. He can not be disturbed!!!!
I just finished watching the Raptor Force. It was very interesting, focused on the flight of the birds and how they are studying the birds to build faster, more maneuverable jets.
I hear thunder, off to check the weather.
Evening, all!
I just talked to Jane, she and Gabby arrived safely in Idaho. Gabby made the trip like a pro and even ate a trout while in route.
Awww, Deb, that is such good news about Gabby!
Lolly - have a safe trip and enjoy!
good ole Gabby.....glad they are home.
Paula, I am so glad your mom is off the vent. I know it is a such a relief for you to know that she is breathing on her own and continues to improve.
Great Update on your Mother, Paula,
Braveo!
And Great News about Gabby!
Nice way to end a Sunday Evening..
xo
Most of us have been waiting for you to come in this evening. And I can only be very thankful that your mom
is on the road to recovery.
Good news about Gabby - he sure had a good dinner while on the road home.
You will see him again you know.
MITS - Can understand your being put on hold...one incident on the interstate or major highway, and now with everyone having cell phones, everyone calls! Quickly leads to an overload of calls! But it is good that people call, because if everyone thought SOMEONE else would call, NO ONE WOULD!
It is What It Is ! xo
Wow, Mits. Glad someone had already called it in!
..That's BRAVO I meant, not BRAVEO, Paula.
You can see we were all waiting to hear from you!
MIts - thanks for the baby Lun update. I forgot how long it takes them to open their eyes!
Margy I don't think that 30 minutes qualifies as a Panda Nap
A Panda Snooze - maybe. Hope that you have a quiet night shift!
My heart was in my throat, Paula, I was scared it was the hospital....I understand completely, Margy, and the woman was very nice and thanked me for calling....have not seen anthing on the news, so thankfully no one was hurt, I guess.
Thanks for thinking of me! :)
I miss ya'll!!
We are just glad you are home safe and sound Paula, and that Mom is doing well...will keep her in the special prayers list.
I can understand Mits. Makes it worse when you know someone is there, then you think there is a tragedy there!
I see our special pair was sighted over the weekend! Glad some of ya'll got to see them!
I am calling it a day
Early morning eye exam appointment
Good Night Everyone
Peace to you & yours
Prayers & positive thoughts for all
needs of our friends & families
I wish I could say
Good Morning Suzanne and that she would see it! Miss that gal
Panda Spiritual Break, JO -

Thanks for the well-wishes.

Hey, Jo...when is YOUR birthday????
Glad you are home with such good news, Paula!

Night, Jo! Sleep well. GEt those peepers ready for the test!
Robyn - I was reading back on yesterday's blog. I have had food issues with my 2 males also. Always feed the dominant one first. When I feed the second one, the dominant one (Nugz) has to either lay day in the kitchen while Boo eats, or go outside. Have a good shift Margy! Still don't know how you can do these day shifts then night shifts!
OK, folks, I am outta here for the night. Gotta work tomorrow. Hope to see you then!
Car fire was on the news...woman threw out a cigarette that came back in and set it on fire!
Night all! Prayers for all. Fall starts at 11:44am tomorrow. Boo...
