I think that without the prospect of seeing our Royal Pair, we have all delayed getting on here. That's MY story and I'm sticking to it!
I am a good one. I say good morning then walk away to get dressed to go to Mass this morning. Hope cam gets fixed but just nice to see an eagle. Sissy twin pandas born in Japan. One was really active and loud.
Is there a site to see the pandas in Japan?

I was kinda out of things yesterday. Was out late Saturday night slept in and then watched NASCAR race. Ike missed us completely.

Cam is working? I didn't check yet. Gotta get ready for Dr. appt---one of the regular checkups at Oncology. Had a different appt. Fri. and Graduated from 6 mos. checkups to 1 year!!!!!after 7 years!!!

Sun is going down on the Finnish sites. Does anyone know for sure what that body of water is with all the islands? Fresh or salt?

Been working on eBay sales, plus supervising sil's brother who is here whittling down my honey-do list, since my Mr. Bill is so busy and still w/ a lot of knee pain.
Getting alot of the little things accomplished...they do add up!!

I think I mentioned Friday that some tree trimmers were here cutting down pine trees that my neighbor planted under the power lines. They caused me a power failure today for 1 and 1/2 hours. I was expecting it though. I'm sure glad the temp was in the 70's today instead of the recent 90's.
And EEEWWWIIIEEEESSSS are necessary uglies in our life!

Well, how about that! Tonight I saw the eagles. Thought I did the other day and came to find out the cam was rotating old pictures. Tonight I saw both at the nest. Wahooo!
Hi All! I am feeling good! The weather is sooooo beautiful! Worked in the yard all day. Went out at 5:30, had cleaned up and was ready for as glass of wine and it was 73. Now that is living!
Our train ticket arrived today. We are set!

Wanda, I just happened to look in and there was one and then another. I get so excited I forget to take a picture. They are coming earlier because it is getting darker.
Ceil, I do the same thing. Get so excited, I forget to snap a photo. I do that a lot on vacation. I get so excited or mesmerized with something that by the time I think to take a photo...we have passed it by.
I am going to watch some TV and probably fall asleep. Have a good evening. Prayers for Paula's mom. How is Mattie? Light a candle for Mason.
The darkness is coming earlier. I looked outside when the eagles had just left, and it is pitch black. If it wasn't for their "EagleEyes" they would run into a tree. LOL

Yes, Lolly, we'd probably all be in trouble if we didn't have name tags!! But after just one day together, and with a group pic to look back at, I've found it easy to remember who's who, and can "see" each one in my mind! Getting Sissy (Bev) and Sharon mixed up is my worst faux pas!
Speaking of whic...how is Mattie??? Is that affliction the same as "jungle rot"? Not familiar with the mongolian term!
Hope she is doing better...but none of those "cures" mentioned yesterday would help, in my opinion...can you tell I don't care for many greens? LOL!

Hi there.
Had Panda nap after dinner! Just saw a show about scientist trying to find a Harpy Eagle in the rain forest. Saw a tiny snow white chick in nest way up in tree and ended up building a shelter and staying there for 6 mos. to get pic of it's first flight!! Amazing! They have a few feather "ruffles" on their heads.

Have you seen this today from Mason's site? An update for the update. A shot of Shepherdstown love is what we 've got going here. Mason had somes firsts today. Mason got back from OT this after noon and George, O Therapist (who really is awsome by the way) said Mason held his head up longer than ever, and maybe ever, he followed 1 out of 4 commands and he said Mason's left hand was real busy doing some crazy things. Sylvia asked if maybe it looked like he was playing air guitar or air bassoon. Hopefully he's waking up a little bit at a time.
Just caught up on Comments. Thx Jo for prayers. I AM FINE. Actually been 8 yrs. exactly since BR CA surgery. I shook new Dr. up today w/blood work. White count is elevated, but that's due to one of my daily meds. One of the oncs. a couple years ago sent out extensive blood tests & they found nothing wrong.
I've ALWAYS felt good except when gallbladder went (2003)--that was the only "normal" problem I had.Tons of other surgeries where for strange things found mostly by blood work for the original surgery. Lost 2 parathyroids & had large cyst in neck removed which turned out to be "mildly" malignant salivary gland. Those 3 were probably caused by radiation treatments for tonsils that I had at age 4. My little German Grandma in Chicago took me for those when I was on vacation there.
Sorry for diatribe, just wanted to explain some of the strange occurences & state again that I am FINE (except for my mind!!!)

Hi everyone! We have been busy exercising Gabby before we release him. His tests all came back clear and they (Minn. Raptor Center) recommended we release him instead of overwintering him. We are doing it like a falconer does with birds, with leggings and a 500 foot line. This afternoon he really took to the air for us. Wednesday is the big day, lots to do tomorrow, so I am staying over in Yankton Tuesday and Wednesday nights to save on driving at odd hours. I sure hope he picks up fishing quickly, so he is ready to migrate.

Definitely could be the same area, although the rocky islets they pictured don't look much like what we see. However they mention "forested islands" as well, and it looks like the park is a large one. I think it is the same park, different area. ... And, yes, it appears to be the Baltic Sea we are looking at.
Now I'm wondering where the other nest might be over there. Looks more like the mainland.
There are some more Q & A's posted at the F & F site, but there's no definite signs that they will nest soon yet.
