Didn't catch enough on the scanner to know what's going on, but sounds like they have dispatched something to NCTC (?Fire, ambulance?), but sounded like they canceled a Washington or Frederick Co. unit.....hmmmm. Hope nothing serious.
Didn't know there was a new WET thread. Put my white bird on blog.
Maybe I'll finally get a chance to work on pics this weekend.Gotta do Meerkats. To my surprise, daughter told me that when she saw last show, Aug. 29, had tag saying "Last Show of Series"!!!!Boo It was kinda depressing sometimes. Hubby wouldn't watch it--didn't like the violence.
Loretta, that is an inspiration! Glad you are coming in Oct. Lead Bob, ok?? Haven't heard anything else about NCTC, but Jefferson Co. not completely digital, so miss alot of their calls.
Loretta things that happen like that. I have always felt is from God. For instance: At my work their was a chapel. Several times a day I would be in that chapel. Especially after visiting with my father on my breaks. My father was in the hospital where I worked. One day a bird was inside the chapel on a beam. I watched the bird. All of a sudden it flew up and was no where to be seen. I knew right then my Dad had just past away. As I was walking fastly up the hall. A nurse came towards me. Stopping me and started to say something. I said, "I know my father just past away." She said, "Who told you". I said, "God did".
Dana, what a spiritual story. Neighbor, whose Mother was close to passing, said one of her pendulum clocks started chiming. It hadn't been working for a long time. She knew her Mother was gone, and she was right!
Few years ago, the wife of beloved gentleman who worked at Park part time, passed away one evening of a heart attack. The next weekend (a Sunday) after her funeral, THE WHITE BIRD was at our house for the first time! I told our friend, Charlie, that I thought it was a message from his Edith. He agreed it WAS Edith!
I have an inspirational story also. My Dad died in November of 2001 and in February of 2002, in honor of his birthday, we had a spaghetti dinner (his very favorite: he was one half Italian). As we gathered around the table, I asked the blessing, and just as I had finished and everyone said "Amen", the grandfather clock which hadn't worked for many years began to chime. It was his favorite piece of furniture.
Lolly, I have been away for a few days and don't know if anyone has mentioned the Falling Waters Campground to you. I noticed several others, but not this one. It is, I believe, the closest to Shepherdstown. Very nice!
Rain has stopped here. Glad to see the rainbow has left our nest!! Such wonderful stories of faith and inspiration, gals! Thanks. Dana, where did you work and what did you do??
Sun is out! Sorry, eeer's fans....doesn't look good for your game. They are playing at East Carolina...weather looks fine there. Heard from a friend in Myrtle Beach that all is well there. Think VA got the worst of Hanna..ports closed.
Bird watchers on beach in OC w/ telephoto lenses watching for "tropical" birds that may have been blown off course! Didn't say whether they saw any or not!
Port Aransas is near Corpus Christi. We usually go to Padre Island (I am originally from down that way). We went to Galveston earlier, going to try a new place this trip.
Thanks for the comments on the new do! My friend, Garry Viar, owns Sedona in Lynchburg, Virginia and he was the artist of the day. I sat down in the chair this morning and told him that he had a miracle to work, that my hair was a mess, and he said, yes it is! I had the really long shampoo that was absolutely wonderful, then the hot towel on my face. I was so relaxed!
Lynn: Headed back to Bedford in the morning. You sure are right about the rain-I cannot believe how green the grass has gotten in just these last couple of days. Hope you and all the eagle momsters and dadsters have a great night. Good night all-see ya in the morning light.
One of Mason's friends said: ...there was a great turnout in the rain for the West Virginia State BBQ & Bluegrass festival today (and tomorrow) in Hedgesville.
Good evening, everyone. I should probably say good night, everyone. We had a nice steady rain today, nothing heavy like you all had, but needed moisture. I hope you all dry out tomorrow.
I saw that, sorry I missed them. I did get to see an eagle fly over the river today, so that kind of made up for it. Our little osprey are starting to leave the hack box area. We also have to look closely at the osprey flying around as the migraters from up north are arriving.
We were watching an osprey fishing the other day and assumed it was one of ours. We couldn't see any wing color on it, but just figured it had worn off. When I got home, I pulled up the picture and couldn't find any leg bands. I couldn't wait to tell everyone, it was an adult osprey. The feathers were all brown, no white on the tips. We have seen a couple more now. (Guess it could be the same one we see over and over again)
Have been reading the journal, but never checked out the Guest Book. Thanks, Jo. Night, Deb! Catch you tomorrow! Beautiful dawn at Finney's! Sleep well, all. Peace to our world.
HEDGIE: You're right, I hit the snooze button as often as I could..just checked a few sites, looks frosty at Finney Land Nest, all foggy - no birds at the Water nest yet - and OUR nest looks like something out of a fairy tale.
Yup- gotta sign off, glad to hear the Blue Grass fest was a hit despite the rain !
Before I say Goodnight, I would like to say that I hope the remarks made by me earlier this evening, were taken by you all in the spirit in which it was meant. I would NEVER hurt anyone, especially my friends on here, intentionally. I love you all, like sisters.
GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE SLEEP TIGHT PRAYERS FOR ALL AND FOR FORGIVENESS Mason...we are still waiting on you to wake up. We are your new friends.
I thought we had a visitor in the nest-which I'm sure wouldn't be possible without a big'ole fight-but it is just the way the upcoming sun is reflecting on Belle or Liberty. I still can not tell which is which. Maybe on day, huh!?
Sad news on the BWO osprey site. Moray one of the two young osprey in Scotland has been lost. They have been having bad weather and the migration from Scotland to Africa is taking a toll.

It has gotten really bright...
Maybe we are out of it now...
Jo I don't think so. Rain had stopped here and then it came down in buckets. Wind is picking up. Getting ready for Mass I hope.

Good evening, everyone. I should probably say good night, everyone. We had a nice steady rain today, nothing heavy like you all had, but needed moisture. I hope you all dry out tomorrow.
Hi Deb - I was thinking you would pop in here soon... Yepper I am ready to say Good Night very soon.
Liberty & Belle were sighted at the nest right before dark this evening.
I saw that, sorry I missed them. I did get to see an eagle fly over the river today, so that kind of made up for it. Our little osprey are starting to leave the hack box area. We also have to look closely at the osprey flying around as the migraters from up north are arriving.
I think one of the migrating osprey was at the BW platform the other day.
Yes, Jo, that's the place! WHere did you hear about the turnout?
We were watching an osprey fishing the other day and assumed it was one of ours. We couldn't see any wing color on it, but just figured it had worn off. When I got home, I pulled up the picture and couldn't find any leg bands. I couldn't wait to tell everyone, it was an adult osprey. The feathers were all brown, no white on the tips. GOOD SUNDAY TO YOU.
C(°ï®¡°)D
Jim
good Sunday morning all-can't tell if we may have an eagle sleeping in the nest or not????
I think I see a white head at 12 o'clock-not quite sure though.
Nope-I'm about sure now, it was just a reflection or a shadow.
:( However, we have an eagle that just came in the middle of the nest. :)
gone just that quick
Both Belle and Liberty are back-beautiful sight to see eagles making a home for the family to come.
Ofcourse they are a family in and of themselves! Though they do have such a purpose.
Ya think they ever get tired of being parent?
Gone
Back again-I guess I don't have to give a blow by blow huh? Nobody appears to be on the blog. LOL
I thought we had a visitor in the nest-which I'm sure wouldn't be possible without a big'ole fight-but it is just the way the upcoming sun is reflecting on Belle or Liberty. I still can not tell which is which. Maybe on day, huh!?
I sure would love to have sound!!!
Good morning T-bird. A visitor would not be welcomed at the nest, that is for sure!
Good morning Thelma and Sharon. Thelma I cannot tell them apart unless they are side by side.
Eagle at BWO
Off to get some breakfast
Hope everyone has a good day-I'm off to Bedford soon. Later
GOOD SUNDAY MORNING EVERYONE.MASON wake up a beautiful day today:)
Sad news on the BWO osprey site. Moray one of the two young osprey in Scotland has been lost. They have been having bad weather and the migration from Scotland to Africa is taking a toll.
