Hi all. Both parents in BWE, and dad brought in a nice fish for once, but I'm waiting to see if he'll share it with the babies.
Darn, mom left on that note, and HE's eating! Chicks aren't even looking at him, what's with that??? I take that back, he left, mom moved over to the fish, and she's feeding at least one of them. Ok, back to the grind.

Thanks again steve.
Yesterday was a great eagle day
here,I went and checked on the
eagles here and was in for a good
supprise i did see the adults feed
and i saw at least one little
head so far. When the male returned
to the nest the young eagle from
last year was with him and dad
landed at the nest and the young
eagle landed in the tree that he
had spent time in last year. When
the female left the nest she was
upset and drove the young eagle
away.While this was happening the
male was feeding the young and
that is when i saw one little head
pop up and take food.John from the
DNR is going to get me some photos
of the nest and maybe the young
eaglets.
I hope everyone has a great eagle
day

Gotta go feed my birds, jays are screaming cause they saw me outside, but I didn't put seed out for them. Huge tom turkey in the field beside my yard, has its tail all fanned out, wish I had a zoom lens so I could get a pic.

floralgirl said...

This tom turkey has his eyes on a female and he is following her all over field. Spring turkey hunting season starts April 18 and continues through Monday, May 23.

floralgirl said...

No, I did not know that one, Norma.

floralgirl said...

2nd adult just flew in to nest. other one flew out.

Bird Girl said...

HELLLOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

Been lurking, not posting, sorry folks! Still packing to move, likely by the end of this month.

I see this morning we have three tightly-tucked balls of grey fuzz in our nest, with parent standing on the edge watching... Possibly feeding time now?

So, since the little one was born on St Patty's Day, will that one be Patrick/Patricia ("Patty")???

Hope everyone is doing well, poor Jim and his crashed PC -- I know the feeling.

Doing okay here, struggling a bit with some mystery virus and a new medication but overall not bad.

Talk to you all soon, take care!!

floralgirl said...

And there goes that adult-chicks all snuggled up together in nest cup.

floralgirl said...

Well hello BIrd Girl:) Good luck with your move, take care of yourself, glad you are feeling ok.

Bird Girl said...

floralgirl -- you may have seen the commercials on TV for Lyrica; I started taking it at the end of December, very low dose first and slowly building up to find the 'right' dose for me. so far, only mild side effects, but not a lot of benefit. we'll see. worth staying on until either the side effects get too bad, or i find relief (finally!!!)

:)

floralgirl said...

Haven't heard of that one, but I hope it wil work for you:)

normabyrd said...

BIRD GIRL---May I say it one more time---(Love your 'smiling' chick)----ADORABLE!!----I have never heard of LYRCIA!!!----Are you moving to another city or just across town?---I know moving is terrible!!---Just hire some STRONG YOUNG MEN!!------Let them do the MOVING!! ho! ---Wishing you the best!!

floralgirl said...

Chicks are stirring, parents still out of nest. Hold down the fort, Norma, I'm off to work.

Suzanne said...

Wasn't sure RP was gonna start, buy my pic eventually came on!

3 babes in the cup area

They are reporting the second hatch at PH nest this morning!!

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Babies flaked out in the nest.

MITS said...

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE thanks Suzanne, for clarifying this is not Finny's nest, but I don't know if others watched this one as much as you and
I did, just for the sheer beauty of the cam.....can't wait to see what might be in Finny's nest when it opens up

MITS said...

turning sound down, that breeze is brutal on the old ears, whenit is blowing

deb said...

Good Morning, everyone. It is a cool, cloudy morning here, it is supposed to rain, but so far it is staying in Nebraska!

deb said...

I have a black screen, does anyone else??

paula eagleholic said...

Parent back our nest

paula eagleholic said...

Hmmm I have purple and green color this morning!!

MITS said...

me too, Deb....it has been giving me trouble since I put it on

deb said...

I had a picture at first, but it froze and then went black.

Mema Jo said...

I'm with you Deb - black screen with sound The Blogger cop just ate my comment.... I think I should start from the beginning again!!

Good Morning Everyone

paula eagleholic said...

They must be working on the color? I have a yellow beak and a brownish eagle :)

deb said...

OR eagle was in front of the camera again. That must be a good place to perch. Nest is empty, but i think there is an eagle in the upper branch.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Pic just froze and is now black.

Suzanne said...

Hi all. Golden eagle fluffing all up! Beautiful.

deb said...

Maybe that is why some of us don't have pictures.

floralgirl said...

I have been outside-my feed has never stopped-weird huh..I think I see a little yellow on adults beak also.

Mema Jo said...

Good news from Dave about sighting his eagle family!
I missed the turkeys this am but the squirrels are there.
Off for another cup of coffee.

paula eagleholic said...

Hmmm, I thought my video was messing up so I restarted and now mine is black too!

Suzanne said...

Yeah, Helen, I don't think anyone watched it too much last year. I know Norma did every once in a while, and other than you and I, I really don't know anyone else. This is gonna be a treat this year if this golden couple actually stays on this nest.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

I still can't get into any FWS site either. No still pics even.

floralgirl said...

Well, I still have pic for about 2 and 1/2 hrs. solid- but I have no sound..strange....

MITS said...

yes, Suzanne, a little different experience, but the drama will begin if and when the osprey return...MTBR

Jill said...

Hi Folks. Just passing through. Havent' had much time to post.

SHARON-The boys have decided to do the trip in one day. Leaving Keyser tomorrow at 8, tryouts at 2,Winchester by 8 pm and then back to Keyser. Must be nice to have all that energy. And only one driver.

MITS said...

yes, what is up with the FWS...are we on some kind of list???

MITS said...

going for a refill.....of coffee

floralgirl said...

YEAH- what is up with that? Been like a week now I've been banned from FWS sites..RWC? c u- back to plants..

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Jill, how long do tryouts take? Winchester is at least 5 hours from here I think.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Sent Steve and email and he replied saying they knew it was down and they are working on it -- the live feed that is!

Suzanne said...

Oh, he just took off. Bummer. I think if the Golden Eagles really adopt that nest, the osprey won't dare try to oust them. Golden's are bigger than bald eagles, and the osprey are just too small to oust a golden eagle pair. it's 17 after 5 there, hope they come back and maybe spend the night.
Our kids are getting fed, all lined up in a row, too cute. BW kids are sleeping. Back to it...

Nest Update

04/03/08:
We've been told by Refuge staff that there are indeed three ospreys vying for the platform.

And we did notice that the males in our mating shots seem to have different head markings, possibly meaning two different males on the nest.

UPDATE ON OSPREY NEST BWO

MITS said...

Mema Jo said...

I guess it is safe to say that my live feed is up without sound.
Little ones in morning nap while
adult is on edge at 2:00 position.
Windy up there!

Mema Jo said...

Thanks Karen ! Whoo Hoo for PH

KarenInCali said...

Jo, I caught it just as mama was cleaning up the eggshell. At first I thought she was eating the egg as maybe it wasn't viable but then I saw the 2 chicklets moving LOL! They are so darn cute! LOL!

IrisF said...

Good morning Everyone, I just thought I saw Tess and Oro in the nest... The camera was so far back it was hard to tell, but I couldn't see a white head...

How is everyone? I finally caught up on sleep...spent long nights watching that incubator at IWS (grin)

Video's have been terrific and Deb, I loved that bird feeder!!!

I've been reading, just not posting.

Prayers for all today and everyday!

Lolly said...

Eagle in nest at LW. Has an egg been laid?

deb said...

Yes, an egg has been laid, maybe more than one. It will be hard to tell until they can move around the tree trunk.

Suzanne said...

CRAP, BW eagle cam down. Our little babies are sleeping and sitting around. What little cuties.

deb said...

Poop shoot!

Lolly said...

Thanks Deb! Whoa! Plane just went close to PH or was it Maine?

Lolly said...

Eagle at Maine nest.

IrisF said...

Mits, I just discovered - by accident - that if you click on the Golden Eagle in Finland - it goes to a close up...click again and it goes back to normal...COOL
What a beautiful scene!!! Thanks

Lolly said...

Two eagles at Maine nest!!

MITS said...

isn't awesome, Iris? They are beautiful....Suzanne got me hooked, I think Lisa from BW told us about it last year, the osprey mated, but had no eggs, so they were frequent visitors, but I just got hooked on the beauty of the site

deb said...

I hope the man who said no eggs for the Maine nest is wrong.

Lolly said...

I'm hoping so too, Deb. It is such a beautiful site to watch.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

I have a question. Where the stork has 2 eggs, is that the same nest that Hugo lived and died in? Did they tear out the old nest (I PRAY)?

MITS said...

HOLEY MOLEY.....look at the time, see ya Suzanne;)

Suzanne said...

Time for me to hit the road. All have a great eagle/panda day. Eyes to the sky, see the raptors fly!

Lolly said...

Feeding at PH.

MITS said...

the one that has the 2 eggs is the one with the village behind it....the other one where Hugo died is the one with live stream and sound near the Autobahn, don't know if there are eggs there

IrisF said...

Two of our babies must be sitting on the little one, because I can't see the third one at all.... Oh, there he/she is!!! finally
Parents have been gone a long time now...but they are close by I'm sure

Angie said...

I finally got the OK to download realplayer at school, so my students can watch...but I can't get anything but a black screen. Is it still down? Or is it my computer? Thank you!!

deb said...

No note at the BW sites about why the cams are down.

KarenInCali said...

Feeding time at PH...can see both babes!

deb said...

I have a screen right now, Angie. We have been having trouble the last couple of days, it seems to freeze up on one person, then gradually work to everyone else. I hope you aren't the first to lose the live feed.

MITS said...

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Chrissy, the only reason I can think of that God put starlings on this earth was to feed bigger birds, kind of like feeder birds instead of feeder fish. Irritating critters.

I know, I know, they are part of nature too but I don't have to like them!

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

I think the fish our babies ate must have been soaked in Benadryl or something. They are out like a light!
