there are definitely 4 heronettes this morning. It is easier to see them without the sun shining on them, Adult back down on them, probably to stop the pecking! I still haven't seen a feeding. I wonder how they go about it.

Yes, Jo, it's so exciting. I noticed when leaving Park yesterday & trying to take more pics of Mom, that soon the leaves will be coming out & it may be hard to get a good view.It's bad enough now w/all the twigs in the way.I have to delete 1/2 the pics.

Other eggciting news at Park---they finally turned on our live feed osprey cam, however, for now it's black & white & no audio yet.Looks like 2 eggs.I don't know if it will get online. They tried that last year, but it only worked for a short time.
The eagle's nest you have at the Park-you sometimes wonder how the eagles fly in & out with all those branches.
Guess we have to remember that this summer they will need that shade!
Keep us posted on the osprey nest happenings - I just realized that I have 9 osprey nests to check out daily!

Jim - haven't heard an update on the WE egg. Jann is having her tour today, maybe she will come back with some good news. I think they will turn on the incubator cam when hatching is near.

Ya wanna know how I made the link? I went to Blog help and looked around until I found something that said: "How do I make a link to another webpage?" After reading the instructions a dozen times and making kzillion mistakes I got it all written out and I previewed the comment and lo and behold: SUCCESS!
I copied and pasted the URL from the Zoo webpage and the rest is history! I have no idea if that is what you meant, but I decided to give it to you anyway....it's easier than it sounds! If I can do it ANYONE can!@

Mits, Late last week Steve wrote a comment about his and John's work on NCTC feed. He said lots of service was out, even in DC, due to internet problems in Wheeling.
Now they are all 3 down again.....
Then the NAAEE should be happy and willing to keep the cam up, if only for educational purposes. I have another thought, but not going to express it:):):), here.
I know, Nature, just didn't know the exact reason, that Wheeling was so prominent in this scenario, Deb may have given me the answer...we used to blame Denver, but that is a no-no to do that....I know Helen, shut your trap:)

The third egg is still in the nest at BC. If it isn't viable, how long would they keep it in the nest? Probably one of those questions without a good answer.
I searched Wheeling, WV, FWS and that is what google found for me.
one of the nest out West last year, had a non-viable egg for a long time...
well since I can't get on to any fws.gov sites at all probably am not going to see it....asked hubby to ask his IT guy at work, why I might not be able to get on to those sites, I have turned this computer inside and out to try to find out why???

The Pugent Sound egg that didn't hatch but stayed in the nest forever... Eggbert was what we named the eaglet & we had some very funny captions on the pics with Eggbert & the unhatched egg!

osprey at BWO has been sitting in the middle of the nest for a long time today.
OR nest - that is the first I have seen the nest free of snow. Hopefully the eagles can inhabit it now & start their family.

What a gorgeous day in So. Cali! I hope the eagles on the Channel Islands are not too hot, tho! Yesterday it was so comical to watch dad move about the nest from one side to the other and the little chicklets kept following his shade LOL!
Also, what has anyone heard about the 4 eggs that had been laid in one nest in Ohio (I think that is where!)?? Have they hatched? Sorry was not following on those.

I didn't know what you were talking about, so I googled fws.gov. Found it, and it seems straight forward.
Maybe you need their special java or something. Do you get a request
to download anything when you attempt to open these sites? If you do, you should do it.
Next best guess is your "Internet Options" settings. Several years ago, I found out you could stop most pop-ups by disabling a certain scripting line in the Options, and it did work very well.
Only trouble is, many sites, including my bank's, used that scripting, so I couldn't open them until I enabled that line again.
One thing you could do is return your security settings to default (medium). Another thing to try is temporarily disabling your pop-up blocker in I Explorer, then checking to see if you can open the fws site.

Hello NATURE, JO, MITS, DEB AND KAREN; the afternoon crew. Boy have I missed all the excitement of being on here and how our chicks have grown.
Karen, the nest was in Oklahoma and, unfortunately, both cameras are down, so we can't see what is happening.
Gosh, that was awful news about Steve's house being of fire. I do hope it wasn't too seroius and he can get it back in shape soon.
Hey JIM good to see you too! We finally have a sunny day here today with no wind. It sounded like So. Calif was a little hot too.
JIM, i have checked everything on this end that I can, everything is running smoothly, there are several others, Megan and Sharon that can't get on either.
Looks like Middie, and Pearl are starting to wake up. Feeding time? Or maybe they are just getting in new positions.
Deb, I knew it was one of those "O" states LOL! Will be interesting to find out about those eaglets and how they are faring, if they even hatched.
Nope, it ain't your computer, it most likely has to do with the security roadblocks put up on a government site. For some reason it only affects some of us.

I went by the nest twice today on my way to walmart(ugh) and an adult was up above the nest perched each time. The same spot, just a little to the left above where they are laying now.
I have to look closely to see if live feed is working, those three eaglets are sure sleeping!

MEGAN I think we should each have an EASY BUTTON. I don't know how you people stand it. It is like teasing. We were almost better off with just the still cam. At least that stayed on most of the time.

Parent Heron is off their chicks. There are three of them! And now back down. They don't have a chance to get any fresh air.

I went back into my 1st book on my other computer. Looked for 30 sec refresh cam problems. It showed that some of us could get the 30 sec feed and some of us couldn't. We tried everything back then. Nothing worked!!!!
In the end it came to the fact that Wheeling hadn't reset something...dang didn't write down what is was they reset to fix the problem in Wheeling. Sorry :(
Right, Dana, this happened last year, then suddenly it was resolved. Only lasted about 2 weeks last year for me. It isn't a problem with our computers.
Your right Megan Wheeling fixed the problem long before they have this time. Something about servers and different numbers. Some got reset others did not get reset. That is why some could get it and others could not.
It had NOTHING to do with the amount of people viewing.
It was funny just alittle cause Sharon kept saying back then. "Run it through her she is in West Virginia as Wheeling is".
I did read up that storks can lay 4 to 5 eggs. So I guess the site I'm watching is not unusual. Can't wait to see them all hatch hee hee.
