Sorry PAULA I guess I'll call myslef little "mis? information and try to keep my Kinergarten mouth shut. It was the oregon nest not co and she just got up again and I only saw one egg this time. Maybe there was grass in the middle of the egg when she got up last time and I thought it was two. It is hard to believe that she is laying them with snow still in the nest. Then again, when is there a good time to start in Oregon?

Oregon parent can't seem to get her nest set right. She was up moving around in different positions and then is now pulling stuff from the side of the nest around her. They must be hardy birds out there.

HI JIM Don't get on much lately what with work, and getting ready to move son's belongings back to Greenville, NC and then getting his room ready for him to spend the days before the wedding here on the Outer Banks. I have read a lot of the blogs tho to keep ;up on some of the things.
Are you enjoying retirement any better and your sleep settled down? I think I will work one more year and make the big step to retirement when school gets out in June of 2009.

I am trying to get West End up. Never had a problem. Neokast is saying connecting but I'm not getting a picture like I use too.

Neokast isn't working right now, you can try the non neokast link on the same page, on the left...but it only supports about 10 viewers...
Belle was mantling a few minutes ago, now she is feeding the eaglets at the back of the nest

West End nest eagle is sitting there as quiet as you please. I am not on newcast as I could never get it to download. I have Two Harbors up and Santa Cruz,also.

Maybe they are getting ready to put the new chick in the nest. I can't imagine what else is going on. Parent gone again and clock still ticking and back
JIM the parent keeps coming and going while the clock is ticking. Do you suppose they are coming to put the new chick in the nest with the other chick? Weird happenings going on there.

As I brought WE up again, one of the adults was either flying low over the nest or had just taken off...missed saving the pic.

Now the clock has stopped at ll:40.43 and nest has no parent on it. This is not Neokast that I am watching, mind you.
oops now it is ll:44.11 and stopped again. Still no parent.
Candy I am not watching on Neokast either it wouldn't come up. Does for all other IWS cams and did for this one before.

DANA Isn't West End the nest that just had a hatching in it's nest that everyone was talking about yesterday or today earlier. They are supposed to be bringing in a hand hatched egg back to the nest for the other new one. They were all wondering how the birds hid the nest and the people didn't see it when they colletced the eggs for incubation.

It is locked for me now too, but I did see a quick shot of an adult overflying the nest.
I think I can see the chick too, so it shouldn't be too long before the adults are back.

Dr. Sharpie always takes a picture of the chick after he puts it in the nest. So I was watching and seen the chick. Now Dr. Sharpie will watch from another area. Away but where he can see nest. To make sure Candy that the eagles except the chick which they always have.
What are you watching Dr. Sharpe on??

How did the other chick get in the West End nest?
DAND That was what I was trying to tell you. On the blog earlier, they were saying that somehow an egg must have been overlooked when they took the eggs from the nest. That egg that was left in nest, either hidden or whatever, just hatched today or yesterday; surpirsing everyone. So now there should be two in the nest; one hatched out of the nest and one naturally in the nest, I think.
I meant DANA. I am going back to try to look it up on the other thread.BB
Dana - Apparently Wray laid a 3rd egg after Dr S exchanged the other two. It hatched on it's own yesterday!
Ok I found where when Dr. Sharpie removed the 2 eggs from WE and replaced them with 2 wooden ones. Wray laid another egg. So in the nest was 2 wooden eggs and 1 real egg.
As Dr. Sharpie showed us one of the eggs didn't hatch and the other he had to pick the shell off the chick because it was attached to the membranes. So only 1 chick lived out of which at the time he took them out of the nest was only 2. So he had one to put back today. The other chick that was in the nest came from Wray laying it right after Dr. Sharpie placed the 2 wooden eggs in nest. So it hatched I believe if reading right today. So the chick Dr. Sharpie put in nest is about a week older than the chick that "hatch today in nest" hee hee 2 chicklets ( :

Well, Dana is right. I just read and saw photos of a chick hatched yesterday at WE on the IWS blog.
It's really weird that nobody noticed 3 eggs in that nest with all the people watching it so intently.
But now Wray and 01 have two bobble headers to raise.

Dana, left after my post this morning. No sausage and bisuits this morning! Just banana nut bread I made yesterday!
Great time at the zoo this morning with the kids and grandkids! HOWEVER, I need my eagle buddies. My son, Michael, is an attorney. He is very sharp and fast thinking. He loves to give me a hard time and he started in on my eagle cam watching. He was really very funny! But, I needed eagle buddies to help me!!!!! Gotta defend our eagle watching!!!
Lolly, I haven't been following that Saga. Were the first 2 replaced with wooden eggs?
Yes, the first two were replaced with wooded eggs. Of the two, one did not hatch. The second one had to be helped to hatch last week. It was the second one that was placed back in the nest today, joining its younger sibling that was born yesterday or Thursday in the nest.
Oh, yes, Lolly...we get some strange looks from those who have never tuned in on an Eagle nest. "Don't knock it til you try it". And, yes, we do miss our Eagle friends. When I was on our trip (one month), I missed everyone sooo much!

Well, everyone would have loved Michael's tirade today. It was really so funny!!! I just sat and smiled. Wish I could have had a recording of all that he said.
It blows my mind trying to figure out how the Eagles can be fooled by a Wooden Egg. How do they decide when it is time to turn an artificial egg? Or do they just let it lay there.

You couldn't see into the WE egg cup to see any of the eggs.
That's why no one knew there were 3.

Lib and Belle are both in the nest and eating left-overs...eaglets are just watching. Maybe they have already eaten. My pict. just froze.

It was a little easier to tell when they were in the middle of the nest. Belle filled up the whole middle and Lib just a portion of it.
At any rate, they are being fed well. One, then another, then the other. So special to watch.

it has been a couple of nights since one of the adults have been in the nest, Wanda.
one of the chicks looked right up at the cam, and, Belle seems to be swallowing her crop
sun is out in OR, snow has stopped, clouds still look threatening
I thought maybe there was something nearby that was a threat and parent is protecting chicks.
Sure hope we don't have that problem.

Yes, I saw him when he went into the Seminary & blessed all 57 children. It gave me chills & a couple tears. The parents were crying.Announcers said being there showed much more emotion out of him. He makes you feel good and inspired.
We must of turned on Finland the same time Jo.
He really looked relaxed, one of the commentators said he has a cousin with Downs Syndrome which is what my Maggie has, she is a real sweetheart
If we only had the view from Kent Cam 3 we might be able to tell how much the nest has been rebuilt.
