GOOD MORNING EAGLE BUDDIES!!---CONGRATS! INDIANA DAVE--YOU ARE #1 DAD this a.m. & every morning!---Have you seen how many EAGLETS you have in your nest??
Hi all. Both parents in BWE, and dad brought in a nice fish for once, but I'm waiting to see if he'll share it with the babies. Darn, mom left on that note, and HE's eating! Chicks aren't even looking at him, what's with that??? I take that back, he left, mom moved over to the fish, and she's feeding at least one of them. Ok, back to the grind.
Thanks again steve. Yesterday was a great eagle day here,I went and checked on the eagles here and was in for a good supprise i did see the adults feed and i saw at least one little head so far. When the male returned to the nest the young eagle from last year was with him and dad landed at the nest and the young eagle landed in the tree that he had spent time in last year. When the female left the nest she was upset and drove the young eagle away. While this was happening the male was feeding the young and that is when i saw one little head pop up and take food.John from the DNR is going to get me some photos of the nest and maybe the young eaglets. Gotta go feed my birds, jays are screaming cause they saw me outside, but I didn't put seed out for them. Huge tom turkey in the field beside my yard, has its tail all fanned out, wish I had a zoom lens so I could get a pic.
Good morning everyone. Off to coffee and dog treats and thena Staff meeting. Kind of a good thing really as these eyes are tired from all that monitor staring I have them doing. Hope your day oes well with lots of special "sightings"
THERE is an EAGLE on a limb above the nest at ME!!---They think it is still plausable that they may still build a nest here or --- at a different place!!---This often happens when the last nest fails---as this one did last year!!---Wants us to report any thing--in re; nest----Report it CHARLES TODD---(at the nest---observing the EAGLES)!!
This tom turkey has his eyes on a female and he is following her all over field. Spring turkey hunting season starts April 18 and continues through Monday, May 23.
MEGAN!!---Thanks for the update on turkey season!!----SUZANNE found several TOMS last week-- at PA SITE-- with all their feathers puffed up & full tail feathers--strutting around the female HENS!!----Aren't they beautiful when they do that???
Yes, they are gorgeous-and huge with all the feathers fanned out.. blog is driving me nuts, when I refresh all the posting stuff disapears and I have to pull up new page.
MEGAN----My new word today---A GROUP OF STORKS----maybe called a "MUSTERING OF STORKS"!!---bet you knew that!!!----(doubt---- i'll have any use for that word in my life time)----ho!
Been lurking, not posting, sorry folks! Still packing to move, likely by the end of this month.
I see this morning we have three tightly-tucked balls of grey fuzz in our nest, with parent standing on the edge watching... Possibly feeding time now?
So, since the little one was born on St Patty's Day, will that one be Patrick/Patricia ("Patty")???
Hope everyone is doing well, poor Jim and his crashed PC -- I know the feeling.
Doing okay here, struggling a bit with some mystery virus and a new medication but overall not bad.
floralgirl -- you may have seen the commercials on TV for Lyrica; I started taking it at the end of December, very low dose first and slowly building up to find the 'right' dose for me. so far, only mild side effects, but not a lot of benefit. we'll see. worth staying on until either the side effects get too bad, or i find relief (finally!!!)
BIRD GIRL---May I say it one more time---(Love your 'smiling' chick)----ADORABLE!!----I have never heard of LYRCIA!!!----Are you moving to another city or just across town?---I know moving is terrible!!---Just hire some STRONG YOUNG MEN!!------Let them do the MOVING!! ho! ---Wishing you the best!!
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE thanks Suzanne, for clarifying this is not Finny's nest, but I don't know if others watched this one as much as you and I did, just for the sheer beauty of the cam.....can't wait to see what might be in Finny's nest when it opens up
Yeah, Helen, I don't think anyone watched it too much last year. I know Norma did every once in a while, and other than you and I, I really don't know anyone else. This is gonna be a treat this year if this golden couple actually stays on this nest.
Hi Folks. Just passing through. Havent' had much time to post.
SHARON-The boys have decided to do the trip in one day. Leaving Keyser tomorrow at 8, tryouts at 2,Winchester by 8 pm and then back to Keyser. Must be nice to have all that energy. And only one driver.
Oh, he just took off. Bummer. I think if the Golden Eagles really adopt that nest, the osprey won't dare try to oust them. Golden's are bigger than bald eagles, and the osprey are just too small to oust a golden eagle pair. it's 17 after 5 there, hope they come back and maybe spend the night. Our kids are getting fed, all lined up in a row, too cute. BW kids are sleeping. Back to it...
Jo, I caught it just as mama was cleaning up the eggshell. At first I thought she was eating the egg as maybe it wasn't viable but then I saw the 2 chicklets moving LOL! They are so darn cute! LOL!

they stayed til pitch dark last night, Suzanne, then left, then before I went to bed last night, they were there before sun up just gorgeous birds to see...
They sure are. This is a treat anyway you look at it. Look at the sunset on the water, that is absolutely beautiful!! Course the golden is pretty beautiful, too!!! Helen, you're gonna have to keep an eye to see if mate shows up and how long they stay tonight.
Good morning Everyone, I just thought I saw Tess and Oro in the nest... The camera was so far back it was hard to tell, but I couldn't see a white head...
How is everyone? I finally caught up on sleep...spent long nights watching that incubator at IWS (grin)
Video's have been terrific and Deb, I loved that bird feeder!!!
Mits, I just discovered - by accident - that if you click on the Golden Eagle in Finland - it goes to a close up...click again and it goes back to normal...COOL What a beautiful scene!!! Thanks
isn't awesome, Iris? They are beautiful....Suzanne got me hooked, I think Lisa from BW told us about it last year, the osprey mated, but had no eggs, so they were frequent visitors, but I just got hooked on the beauty of the site
the one that has the 2 eggs is the one with the village behind it....the other one where Hugo died is the one with live stream and sound near the Autobahn, don't know if there are eggs there
Two of our babies must be sitting on the little one, because I can't see the third one at all.... Oh, there he/she is!!! finally Parents have been gone a long time now...but they are close by I'm sure
I finally got the OK to download realplayer at school, so my students can watch...but I can't get anything but a black screen. Is it still down? Or is it my computer? Thank you!!
I have a screen right now, Angie. We have been having trouble the last couple of days, it seems to freeze up on one person, then gradually work to everyone else. I hope you aren't the first to lose the live feed.
How is everyone,,hope you are all as well as can be at the moment.
Been trying to get on most days but by the time I've got all my jobs done in the house, it's this flippin time difference thing, I can't get my head round, one day I will. BUT i do read,, well try to all the posts just to keep up, So sorry about your Computer Jim pet, been there got the teashirt,, it's such a pain isn't it, I hope you can recover most of your files.

Do you remember me telling everyone about my owl family here !!
Well,,I have some sad news,, mum and dad had 8 babies,,, but we have had such wet weather for such a long time here that I think there food supply has been a little thin on the ground [sorry for the pun] WELL we only have 6 left now,, and one very fat first born chick,,So I think you know what I'm saying without saying a certain word ??
Brill to be back,,I just hope I can stay this time round without this silly machine going belly up again.
YEP animals and birds going nuts here, but still no sign of flowers, so I think Spring has still to pop up here.
I love to here all the birds, but I'm getting fedup with the Starlings at the moment,, they live in great numbers in the eves of my house and I swear the all wear clogs on their feet, and all go to a disco at 3 oclock in the mornings, oooooooo SLEEP,,, whats that !!!!
I have a Lady sparrow hawk and she thinks it's supermarket heaven right now, all she does is sit in the trees and then flies down for a snack when she feels like it,, no effort or hard work for her just easy pickens,, and all FREE.
Chrissy, the only reason I can think of that God put starlings on this earth was to feed bigger birds, kind of like feeder birds instead of feeder fish. Irritating critters.
I know, I know, they are part of nature too but I don't have to like them!
My live feed is running more like the 30 sec. cam- and I still can't open that.... jumpy motion.. the weather lady is right, its not raining here, looks like some showers may be headed at us. bbl
I'm trying to get Seal Rock "SR" open. They are expecting their egg to hatch. Had it open yesterday and day before. hummm doesn't want to open today. dang

I had a picture at first, but it froze and then went black.
I'm with you Deb - black screen with sound The Blogger cop just ate my comment.... I think I should start from the beginning again!!
Good Morning Everyone
They must be working on the color? I have a yellow beak and a brownish eagle :)
OR eagle was in front of the camera again. That must be a good place to perch. Nest is empty, but i think there is an eagle in the upper branch.
Pic just froze and is now black.
Hi all. Golden eagle fluffing all up! Beautiful.
Maybe that is why some of us don't have pictures.
I have been outside-my feed has never stopped-weird huh..I think I see a little yellow on adults beak also.
Good news from Dave about sighting his eagle family!
I missed the turkeys this am but the squirrels are there.
Off for another cup of coffee.
Hmmm, I thought my video was messing up so I restarted and now mine is black too!
Yeah, Helen, I don't think anyone watched it too much last year. I know Norma did every once in a while, and other than you and I, I really don't know anyone else. This is gonna be a treat this year if this golden couple actually stays on this nest.
I still can't get into any FWS site either. No still pics even.

Nest Update
04/03/08:
We've been told by Refuge staff that there are indeed three ospreys vying for the platform.
And we did notice that the males in our mating shots seem to have different head markings, possibly meaning two different males on the nest.
UPDATE ON OSPREY NEST BWO
parent at BWE
Both osprey in nest on the Puleston cam.
One osprey in CT
No osprey in BW
Geese still in MN osprey nest
Thanks Sharon.......
My video is back on
Not sure if sound is on tho...
This is a picture of my bird feeder with at least 4 finches on it. They are feisty little birds and will scare off the crows.
Feeder
video on, sound off...here.
I have a picture now, too. The finches scare off the black birds, not crows.

my cam is already frozen..
Another new chicklet at PH!!!!
I guess it is safe to say that my live feed is up without sound.
Little ones in morning nap while
adult is on edge at 2:00 position.

Thanks Karen ! Whoo Hoo for PH
Jo, I caught it just as mama was cleaning up the eggshell. At first I thought she was eating the egg as maybe it wasn't viable but then I saw the 2 chicklets moving LOL! They are so darn cute! LOL!

I hope the man who said no eggs for the Maine nest is wrong.
I'm hoping so too, Deb. It is such a beautiful site to watch.
I have a question. Where the stork has 2 eggs, is that the same nest that Hugo lived and died in? Did they tear out the old nest (I PRAY)?
HOLEY MOLEY.....look at the time, see ya Suzanne;)
Time for me to hit the road. All have a great eagle/panda day. Eyes to the sky, see the raptors fly!

Chrissy, the only reason I can think of that God put starlings on this earth was to feed bigger birds, kind of like feeder birds instead of feeder fish. Irritating critters.
I know, I know, they are part of nature too but I don't have to like them!
I think the fish our babies ate must have been soaked in Benadryl or something. They are out like a light!
looks like they got their second wind:).
Middy almost got Pearl with a Poop Shoot!
I am so grateful deep in my soul that we are not having to worry about these eaglets going hungry!
Tiny is up front and getting his share once again. Pearl is laying back and being very polite!
1 osprey at BWO
Time to snooze again!
She is covering them up with fluff again!
Now Belle is trying to cover them up with fluff.
rain must be coming
just checked radar, no rain..
Coming in late so I'll say "Hi and Good Afternoon to Everyone" ( :
Can someone put the tiny blue link on here for the Finland Osprey nest..please. The one I have from last year in my favorities isn't working.
Here you go, Dana:
Finland Nest
I just came in to see what was happening and see we had another strange food delivery. Are there any long skinny fish in the river??
Dana, that is not Finny's nest, but the pretty nest over looking the river, but it is dark now
There is a really icky fish called a lamprey in the Potomac, it grossed me out. There is also a fish called a snakehead, that could be what it is.
Deb, you have mail:)
Radar shows rain headed to BWE
My live feed is running more like the 30 sec. cam- and I still can't open that.... jumpy motion.. the weather lady is right, its not raining here, looks like some showers may be headed at us. bbl

I went to Firefox and got BC open there. Strange that it won't open in Safari.
You're welcome, Dana.
I'm trying to get Seal Rock "SR" open. They are expecting their egg to hatch. Had it open yesterday and day before. hummm doesn't want to open today. dang

Split is coming!!!
The eagle had landed...nice float in ...
That was a different fly-in. The wing was right in front of the camera.
