This is Marvin's mentor/friend Scar They are quite a pair - they can be friends one hour and enemy's the next. But they are the rulers of this house.. ♥
Thanks Steve for the new thread. Stay cool and have a great weekend.
LYNN Thanks on the information regarding INSERT. Much appreciated.
Happy Birthday Vicky.
LOLLY I am glad you and Jack and the children are home safe and sound and that the trailer is already cleaned. Sorry about no Air Conditioning. Tell Jack I pray that his technicians are as considerate and helpful with his test as they were for me. NO PROBLEM and they talked me through it. I am sure in TEXAS they will have an open machine at least I pray that they do. Thinking of him and will pray extra hard on Monday that it goes well for him.
LORI say a big HELLO to Nancy and I am glad to hear that she is doing wll. You are a terrific daughter to be out there helping. Look well after yourself also. How is your Dad? Is it working well with SIL stopping by on a dialy basis to see what she can do? How about the twelve yoear old niece?
JO I love your new avatar...it brought me a smile. This must have been taken in cooler temperatures.
I too am disturbed about LORETTA'S possile job changes...I wondered about part time and job share so they could tailor the times to their needs...yet the best is that there be no changes and that they stay where they are, doing the times they are presently doing. You do such good work LORETTA.
OH LYNN NO!!! I was so looking to your seeing the house and actually making an offer on it...I am sorry that it did not work out and trust that it therefore means that it was not meant to happen.
LYNN I also am very pleased that you are getting help with the door frame and that it seems to be an efficient action. When do the other workers come back? Have you heard?
Hi, Gang. You moved. Will try to copy one post to here~~~~
BTW, The osprey cam is a lot better now that we finally got our new antenna. Right now is a mini-milestone, Ms. Piggy chick has eaten enough that it's resting in the shade. Dad brought in more fish & is sharing with the little boy with NO intereference! Dad is so good, reminds me of Lib ☺!
Also, our naturalist, Greg, said we shouldn't worry about Isla. He said she is too old to lay a 2nd clutch!! Hopefully, she will migrate on time.
LYNN also about the well...do you need rain before the frequency of changing the filters decreases? Is the water safe to drink? Do you have ways to test it? You live such an incredible life and it is wonderful that you take all these things in stride and solutions present themselves.
PAULA did you find the bone that Nick hid?
JO Thanks for the birthday list being brought over to this thread.
HEy Loretta you made it, good to see you, or should I say to read you... Thanks for the update on the osprey. How is your day going? So far I have done the laundry and soon I will have to leave the computer and get on with the rest of my day.It promises to go up to 90 today, but I am not sure if it will make it. We have a breeze and the skies are clear though, so I am looking forward to some time out...I already tended to the flower pots. Dragon Boating was cancelled this morning, as not enough people were here, as it is a long weekend and many are away.
Just peeking it. Have all my pots watered and I do believe I am in for the day. Trailer has been taken to the RV repair place. Yea!
Talked with my sister. Dan is doing great. He is now eating regular food, but chewing it well. Dr. said they will never know what caused the blockage. It could happen again next week or it may never happen again. Thanks for all the prayers for him.
Happy Birthday to Vicky! May you have a wonderful day!!
Thanks for the update on Dan LOLLY. I am glad he is doing better and let's all hope that the blockage does not happen again... Good idea to stay in for the rest of the day considering the temperatures.
Zara Phillips, The Princess Royal's daughter got married today. I liked it very much that it was a simple wedding and The Duchess of Cambridge did not try to upstage anyone. For the pre-wedding party and for the wedding she wore ourfits she had worn before and both she and Prince William and Prince Harry stayed out of the focus of the photographers and made sure they were low key. The Queen looked Regal. She is so tiny really. When I saw her in real life I was struck by how small she is...I saw her twice, once in London and another time in Windsor.
Hoda.....the well has finally settled down. The inline water filter was put in after my pump went bad two years ago---it was deteriorating from the inside and little metal filings were coming in the water lines; they got into my water softener and apparently froze up the gears. Had to replace the water softener last year! No longer pumping mud, so newest filter is looking good! Sohuldn't need changing for a couple of months! Painter guys coming back Monday. Says they should get at least two sides of house treated/stained in one day. (4 people) He still has one corner to scrub and rinse down---by hand and hose, NOT pressure washer!!! It is the corner where the big bookcase is! Hey....I don't really cope very well with problems---but I do have good friends and SIL who "save" me and YOU all help me keep things in perspective!
Good afternoon. Sorry about the lengthy book. Trying to catch up.
Kay, very sorry about Judy's situation. Will send prayers that this next round of chemo will work.
Andy, sure happy you didn't lose any transcription you had competed. That would be very frustrating. Strange, to say the least.
Happy Birthday, Vicky.
No Monarch's since the one several weeks ago and no eggs on the milkweed. Hope for something soon.
Loretta, whatever happens at the park, I hope it is what you want which sounds like not leaving your current location.
So glad GG had a wonderful birthday celebration. 'course I won't mention how convenient it was to have all that birthday cake right there up close and personal in your face.lol Sure hope the knee was uninjured.
Lolly, glad you all are home safe and sound. Really wish TX would get some serious rain. Happy Dan is doing so well.
Lynn, I know I missed updates so sure hope the house has dried out and all is going well except for the motion light. Really sorry about the beach house contract. Maybe that one will fall through also!
Lolly, I have had several MRIs in closed cylinder. I did two things. Ask for ear plugs and ask the technician to speak every few minutes to provide an update. For example, they would tell me the noise is about to begin but you are 50% done, or 70% done, or it will only be about two more minutes. Point is that I knew I had not been forgotten and that a real person was nearby to help if I freaked.
Hi Hoda. Checked on the Hornby Island twins and they and an adult were in the nest. Looked very very windy. Are you paddling today?
Hoda I think the Duchess of Cambridge is going to be a winner! I am so impressed with her.. I saw pic of her at the prenuptial party and she looked lovely in green and especially the ring she was wearing that matched. Hoda - what was the stone of her wedding ring..
Hubby and I have Mass at 5:00 and our Catonsville daughter is to join us. Afterwards we are going to dinner up at the Braddock Inn which used to be the ski lodge. I am interested in this dinner........ Hope it is good!
WOW Shirley - At first I thought you were going to say " I've been busy digging Post Holes' You scared me there! I know how badley you want that fence.......... lol
JO, Catherine, The Duchess of Cambridge's wedding band is simple gold from the Welsh mines. Her engagement ring is the ring Diana, Princess of Wales, wore and it is a Blue Saphire with diamonds surrounding it. Prince William also gave her Diana's Blue Saphire and Diamond earrings. She changed them to dangling earrings and she looks great in them. The Duchess wears her Blue Saphire in all conditions, she wore them paddling and she wore them when they asked for her hand print in clay...eventually this ring is going to have to be cleaned I would say. She had to add little clamps to it to make it smaller so it would not go flying off her finger. I get a lot of the information from the Monarchy's site and also from the Prince of Wales' site. The green dress she wore yesterday she wore when she was in Los Angeles and the yellow outfit she wore to the wedding today she wore to another friends' wedding three months ago. I wondere how do they sotre all those hats...they must have more storage than I do. LOL...Tiny little flat they have in Kensington Palace from what I read...LOL
My eagle shirt from the company that WV Susan (edgy su on momster mail) told us about arrived and it is BEAUTIFUL!!!! I am so impressed with the original artistry as well as the quality of the shirt.
So now I am headed off to yoga and maybe go t o the park...the 90 degrees they predicted did not come to pass and we are sitting at a comfortable 76 degrees.
Shirley I hope you do not dig the fence posts while I am gone LOL so funny Jo's entry you had her worried...LOL
LYNN I am glad your fence is still there. Strange what comes to us in our dreams.
LINDA I hope you and Denis are not working out in the heat and that you ae hydrating if you are. I am sure you are looking well after him and yourself.
LYNN so glad you received your shirt and that you like it. It is always neat when the mail/internet ordered things arrive with the quality we wish for.Enjoy!!!
Shirley I understand about digging into closets and rediscovering what is in there...Enjoy!!!
HODA thanks for asking about SIL and niece -- they're both doing a great job and we are all grateful. Today is SIL Theresa's 39th birthday so we made her take the day off. I got niece Kilee a boat load of nail polish tools and nail art supplies to say thanks & let her know she is doing a good thing helping her Grandma.
Thank you everyone for asking about Mom's progress!
LOLLY, that is great news about Dan! YAY! Also hoping for good news about Jack's MRI.
The weather is so much better today, but still too hot for bulldogs. My dad doesn't keep the air conditioning as cool inside either.
KAY, what is up with you in OHIO? I missed all you Early Birds this morning!
I seriously doubt there are adult bald eagles at Park's Gap, Lynn.... as often as I travel that road, I would probably see something - do see vultures... but then again, I definitely have to keep my eyes on the road and my hands on the wheel on that road
I promise I will not be digging post holes. I am planning to pay someone else to do that.
Kathryn just called asking if I want to go out to research grain-free dog foods and then get some dinner. Sounds fine to me.
Someone at Kathryn's work gave her some delicious-looking ribs with the instructions that they can only be cooked on a grill. The only grill we have belongs to Will and is rather complicated, so we invited him to come cook them tomorrow.
This is Hunter's weekend with his dad, so it will be adult time around here.
I have delivered the two Jameses to their Roost...and am going through some serious separation anxiety :( Really had some fun times with James, lots of laughs and close, fun times. We all three went to The Landings Restaurant at the civilian airport at Martinsburg, C5s down from six to four, three stationed at Martinsburg, one from "Stewart" and I think it was preparing to leave. Saw a nice private jet take off, and saw several single and twin engine planes coming in and going. One man, was awaiting a ground transport from somewhere in Virginia, 9 dogs, from a rescue from poor housing, was going to be taking them to Edinburgh, New York. His T-shirt said "Pilot for Paws" ☺
Lolly Wonderful report about Dan... so happy to read of that. I have had one MRI in my life, it was a Wide-Open one, for degenerative disc disease evaluation, it was painless, thump thump thump when the pics were being taken and I had one CT scan for headaches...not so bad. Loved Judie's post about her experience with hers.... Best wishes for Jack, and hope his fretting does not get the best of him....it will be okay, we got our prayers going for him too and cyber (( Hugs ♥ )) across the many miles that our Eagle Corners and Momsters and Dadsters populate xoxo
Sounds like a wonderful evening Jo and Ed and family have planned, starting with Mass.... love the new avatar, Jo and THANK YOU FOR THE AUGUST BIRTHDAY LISTINGS, AS USUAL !!
Margy, how is The Landing? Who owns it now? Is it still Linda Statler? I haven't there in a few years. Love sitting by the window and watching the planes! Pilots for Paws is SO great a group!! Wonder why he wasn't flying them all the way up?
I used CarolAnne's recipe because I have all the ingredients. Taste very good. Need to get an ingredient to try yours. and want to try Shirley's (w/out alum).
Lori, what a sweet gesture for Kilee. Bet she feels just so special and important.
Margy, glad you had so much fun with James' time. Try to rest some now.
Lynn, enjoy the book while wearing your shirt. Glad you have both.
Shirley, leave the post hole digging to others. It is no fun. Enjoy dinner out tonight and your adult time weekend.
Have taken a nap ( I usually do not nap), played some computer games and have basically been very still after this mornings work.
Jack was supposed to preregister for Monday's MRI but he wants more info from the doctor first. He told them he was going to be gone and gave them a cell phone number. They left about 10 messages here on our phone. ??? He wants some questions answered before this MRI. It is scheduled for late afternoon so he should have some time Monday morning.
This heat and drought is getting to us. Help!!! It is just so depressing! The yard around the house is looking good. Down front is dead. :( Got our water bill today! Yikes! Have not been watering between 10 and 6, but so far that is the only water restriction. May get stricter soon and then Lolly will be very sad.
Maybe I should get a new hobby. Turn my yard and garden into a sand pit.....and build sand castles year round!☺ Nope that will not work, need wet sand.
Lynn I do not know who owns the restaurant now. Not sure if Linda Statler...or not. Think I heard, it had changed ownership, and the name is different now also. The prices were great, and there are some wonderful pictures on the walls.
It would be a fun place to go for a gathering. Saturday nights they have Steak and Music night.... and sometimes they close for private parties in the evenings
Not sure why they guy did not fly the dogs all the way from their point of origin...guess this is just how he does things
Hello Judie ♥ Yes, James the Wise, lives up to his name. What a neat kid. He reads people's name tags at stores we go to, restaurants and grocery stores, and always "Hello Carolyn" or "Hello Brandi" or whatever is on the name tag...- and then "my name is James, pleased to meet you." A true Ambassador of Good Will ♥ He really enjoyed sharing Swinging Bridge with his father Friday.
Linda Been reading your posts about wood-splitting and wood-stacking Don't know you and Dennis do this in the heat we have been having !
Oh, I am tired, think I will find me a bigger glass of ice cold Spring Water and retire under the covers with a book for awhile. Both James and his father could hear the upstairs "bowling ball " overnight !
Saw Tiger Swallowtail butterflies big as goldfinches Friday at the creek, and also goldfinches ! And one Zebra Swallowtail, and a very friendly but twittery Spicebush Butterfly, they all defied good photographing ! Also saw an awesome Green Heron
Searched and searched the creek bank for Cardinal Flower, it is NOT OUT yet....will keep checking back
I am going to try to be up to listen to the interview, but may not make it! 6:30 is awfully early for me!
Margy, your James sounds so great!
My BIL, Dan, always know the history of every waiter. He always asks where they are from, he also asks young waiters about their education. He is a retired superintendent. He is their friend and knows all about them by the time the meal is over. LOL
IF anyone is watching golf on CBS--it is at White Sulphur Springs, WV at The Greenbrier! Recently under new ownership with lots of remodeling/revitalization.....it used to have an underground bunker/fall-out shelter for the pres and other government VIP's....it was always TOP SECRET! Now it is open to the public for viewing.
Hoda, the bride looked very lovely! Great that the "other" RC were low key. Princess Anne sure does look like Charles...(and Phillip)....such sharp, harsh features. Doesn't resemble her Mother at all.
LYNN The Princess Royal has actually a very good sense of humour. Much like Prince Charles and Prince Phillip. I saw a lovely picture of her today with a huge soft gentle smile that told me of her love and her pride of her daughter. I think it was really hard for her when her ex husband Captain Mark Phillips fathered a child with a woman from Australia. The divorce was not easy for her, yet she made it through. She also had to appear in court, the first Royal who has ever had to because her dog bit somebody and she took responsibility and paid a fine.
and typical Magpie Stuff.... I got two people's posts mixed up, but TWO WONDERFUL PEOPLE THEY WERE:
Lolly, I thanked Lori and asked is the Interview at 6:30?? but I see now that I mean to thank YOU about your James' comment, AND the clarification on the time for the interview. Come to West Virginia !! You can listen at 7:30 instead! LOL Thanks !!!
I think when the temperatures cool down, WHENEVER THAT IS, then the Eagles shall visit the nest again, because that's what it took the LAST time for them to flutter down into the Palace
HOW COME WHY ??? DO 9-VOLT BATTERIES HAVE TO BE SO DIFFICULT TO CLAMP ON THE THE RECEPTACLE !!! I just don't have the oooomph to push that one end into the other. Sigh... Okay, done venting
Lolly, tell Jack that they are looking for primarily any deteriorated or collapsed discs, nerve or cord impingements, spurs, degenerative disc disease, and worst case scenario: tumor.
Margy, what are you trying to put the battery in? I know how hard some things can be! Kills the thumbs! put a quarter over it and push on it---for some reason, it works for me!
My sister and I spoke for over an hour from Ciaro to here in SKYPE.It was good to see her and she showed me many pictures and she is worried about the situation in Egypt and she thinks things will get worse before they get better. News from there over the past two days I found very depressing. Mama's anniversary is the third of August so we spoke a lot about stories of her and we laughed...
I see no visit tonight and very few posts too. MARGY I am glad you got the battery to work.
PAULA and NICK made it to the beach house YAY...I hope the roads were not too bad.
My baby is spacing out---packing for an early morning flight to Cancun! This is their 3rd trip there----thankfully, they have wisely decided NOT to do anything off-site of the resort this time. Too much criminal activity down in Mexico anymore.
Oh Hoda...I am sorry things are tense in Egypt, glad you could deflect a little of that with some happy talk
Yeah, battery in, needed it anyway, lighted display was going dim...
radio station is playing some nice music, makes we want to sing, but then that reminds me I need a Shower ! Maybe I will just SING real loud in the shower !
It's Okay Hoda, I kind of thought it was a city I had just never heard of
Saw a beatiful globe mounted in brass with all kinds of neat things, the swivel type, in a stand up base, at the airport, bet that thing was worth $1,000. Many of the countries were outlaid in Mother of Pearl, including ALL of Canada, Hoda
speaking of skype, my brother Prairie Dog John and his wife Judy, skype daily with their second oldest son in Seoul, Korea....keeps them very comfortingly connected from no matter where they are
I don't know much about skype, Hoda, but gather you must have a webcam?? So cool that you and your sister were able to spend time "face to face" as it were. Praying that things settle down over there.
Judie, I am looking forward to the morning interview...and I am preparing to send you an email now.. but you will probably get it in the morning ☺ I DID not take that shower yet... like a cat, maybe I do not like water !
What I like about Skype is I get to see my sister and sometimes her daughters and grandson. It is also for free!!! I do not understand that part, but happy for it as we chat for long periods of time.I have not had an I-phone SHIRLEY but it would be amazing to use one for SKYPE calls as you would not have to sit infront of the desk top.
I am going to plagiarize from Shirley's post of Friday Afternoon, and re-post the link to WASH-FM
You just hit the little blue letters at the top left that says: Radio, and then or Listen Live, just hitting RADIO did it for me, hope this works as it did for me WASH-FM
there's an ad that comes up sometimes might have to wait through that, and then get ready because when radio come on it is LOUD but you can adjust the volume on the site itself....
sounds great Paula... just wonderful did you get there in time for any interesting bird sightings ? or any other creatures for that matter? Is Gracie the other dog there also ?
appreciate all the Royal Daughter's Daughter's wedding facts today, Hoda... you give a very lovely description of things and I will try to check out the links
Always think the Queen looks so elegant....love the colors of the things she wears
Wanda when you check in... the shower pouf that came apart and was 12-feet long, has been put to use in smaller segments tying up the tomato beanstalk branches ☺
Time for reading and bedtime... look forward to radio interview time with whoever can be here, one thing for sure, Lori, Frank and Judie will be here ☺ ☺ ☺
I offer prayers for all our many needs here, especially for Health, Comfort....and Serenity
LYNN Yes Captain Mark Phillips walked his daughter down the aisle. In the video that I posted he got out of the same car as the bride. He was there with his second wife, not the Australian with whom he fathered a child while married to Princess Anne. The Duchess of Cornwall's first husband, Mr Parker-Bowles, was there too as the Princess Royal is friends with him and his second wife who has just died.
Good Evening! Popping in kind of late tonight, for me!
Lynn - I did stay in today and did desk work, which ended up taking way too much time! Oh well, it needed to be done.
Lynn - So sorry to hear the house you were hoping to see got another contract. Drats.
Hoda - You're catching up with us with those higher temps!
Lolly - Welcome Home, if I didn't say so earlier!! So glad to hear that Dan is doing better and pray this never happens again.
Lori - Also thrilled to hear your Mom is feeling so much better!!
MARGY - James sounds like such a joy to have and enjoy. Your adventures and outings sounded so interesting and fun!
We didn't split wood today. Too hot. We do have to get it done as soon as possible so it can dry out. We should be 1 year ahead in our wood supply and last year we almost ran out!! Don't worry, we are very careful of the heat. Thanks for your concern
Oh, thanks Hoda......footage was from enough of a distance that it almost looked like it could have been Pr. Phillip escorting her from the car!!! Wow----bet there were some tense moments for sure for several of the attendees!
Was going to turn on the TV for the news but decided I did not want to hear anymore depressing news and depressing weather reports. I did go out this evening and water the roses on the fence. Think they have suffered. It was almost decent out. If I have wet feet it helps.
Margy, thanks for the link to the station. I had found it once before but bookmarked it now. Will listen in the morning IF I wake up. Not setting an alarm.
LYNN I think of your comment about awkward times at the wedding. The pictures I have seen tell me the British Royals know how to put the lid on it, so to speak. The Princess Royal walked into the church with the new Mrs. Phillips since Mr. Phillips was in the car with his daughter. When they came out The Princess Royal walked out with Mr. Tindall, the new father in law and Mr Phillips walked out with the new mother in law Mrs. Tindall...so the new in-laws are getting on well. It left the new Mrs. Phillips and The Princess Royal's husband,Vice Admiral Tim Laurence, to walk out together...Very British I say!!!
Good morning all. The live feed is still down and it is day light on the still cam. No colour yet. It is 5:25 AM EDT and there are no eagles at the nest.
Maybe I should clarify my "it is daylight at the nest"...It is a clear view of the nest and the same like when night light first comes on. I think daylight is later. I meant it is possible to see the nest clearly.
Well I see no one else is here this morning...maybe people are waiting for the Interview with LORI JUDIE AND FRANK before they get up this morning. I tried and the signal does not work for me...I hope to hear about it from you all. It is very AdMiRaBLE to be known for the amount of volunteering a person does...WAY TO GO JUDIE AND FRANK.Knowing LORI she will ask some pretty wonderful and revealing questions.
DANAMO I think on the east coast it is at 7:30 as LOLLY said it was 6:30 for her and MARGY had clarified that it would be when she will listen...7:30 AM EDT
sorry Hoda, I jumped to look at another link and got sucked in...LOL!
I was checking out bulletin boards for school. Trying to decide if I should do a theme classroom this year and if I do, what should I do? Disney (Mickey and Minnie since I just came back), Veggie Tales (but they don't really have stuff out there I can buy and I would have to get real creative), Jungle? I had one more idea and now I can't remember? Any suggestions out there?
DANAMO , You are a teacher through and through. It is about this time of year half way through summer break that I too started to think about my classroom. It depends on the age group you teach, but I thought Space Exploration past and future...??? Webcams and rescue centres...??? What is the rat of unemployment in your region? WOuld you consider doing a theme on America's heroes, the families who manage every day??? Just ideas and rambling on. I am not sure of your age group...Don't your themes have to coincide with the themes in the curriculum? Ours did.
Yes, I am! I love teaching and I came to it later in life. Well not that late, but went back for my MAT after my children were all in school. I was a stay at home mom for 14 years. My undergraduate degree is Social Work.
I teach kindergarten. I could follow themes from my reading series, but other than that, I am not given specific themes to follow over the course of the year.
DANAMO How awesome that you were a stay at home Mom and then decided to start a teaching career and took steps to make this dream come through...BRAVO LADY BRAVO...All wht I suggested would be for an older age group as I was a Jr. and Sr. High School Teacher.
It wasn't easy, but I am so glad I did it! Two years of constant work. I was a teachers aide at the time so I had my foot in the door and when I finished I stepped right into the position I wanted. It was God's plan for me, no doubt!
God's Plan a blessing to the Children in your care. Kindergarten is a very difficult age group to teach...there is such a fine balance and they are so knowing in many ways and so much in need of guidance in othre ways...They are very lucky that you are their teacher and each year a new batch of students...fresh eager eyes , it must melt your heart.
Really too early to be up since we have no live cam, but if I go back to bed I'm likely to sleep right through the interview.
HODA have thoroughly enjoyed your insights into the royal family and their customs.
DANA, I can't help with your school room theme, except to say I'd probably take the easy route and use things I already have on hand. It will all be new and exciting to this years batch of Kinderkids !
GOOD MORNING JUDYE!!! You are so funny about no work wish list...have a great day at work. When do you get off today? What is the weather like over there?
Oh and Kay is here too...Good to see you KAY. I understand about going to bed and missing the interview. A bit less than an hour now...I wished I could hear it too.
I will have 19 children this year, which is how many I had last year. It was just the right size. I would prefer and even number, but oh well. I am at a Catholic School and our enrollment is down. I am lucky that my class filled to 19.
HODA, you have your Dana's mixed up a bit. WVgal Dana is mother to Raschida. She is the one who went to CO to visit her daughter and no, she hasn't ever told us how she selected that most unusal name. Such mixups are easy to do with so many similar names ! Makes you kind of glad to be Hoda or Kay, huh ? LOL
Can't help you on "Raschida" that must have been one of the other Dana's.
And yes they do melt my heart. I had one cry when I said they were going to first grade and would have a different teacher. Made me feel so good. I got a note from another over the summer that her daughter wants to teach kindergarten just like Mrs. Hilmoe, makes me feel so good!!
OOOOOOOPPPPPPSSSS!!!! SOOOORRRRRYYYYY!I get so very embarrassed when I do that...So sorry DANAMO. 19 is a good number for a class. do say you accept my apologies Please!!!Thanks for the correction KAY.
DANAMO, you and HODA have me smiling as I'm interpreting the q's and a's a bit differently than the two of you are. I'm thinking HODA was asking how many children you stayed home with for 14 years ! I find the way we each name kids so interesting and wonder how you decided to go with the "A" team. I love the A names you chose !
JUDYE, happy, as always, to see you here ! So sorry you have to miss the interview and I don't believe there is any replay of LORI's Sunday morning spot. Too bad we can't get them later or save programs like this one and the one she did with Amanda of Wildlife Virginia to our archives. They are pre-recorded so it seems like there should be a way.
OK DAAMO is not ansering and I am going to go for a little while...Talk to you all later...Enjoy the interview. I hope it goes well. I am sure it did...I wonder how it will be like for JUDIE and FRANK to hear themselves on the radio...I presume LORI is now used to it, but maybe not...Sandperson here I come...
HODA, have you gone to DANAMO's profile and blog. There are wonderful pics of her beautiful family and I think all their names can be found in the batch of CA wedding and vacation pics. There are also pics of Dana with her classroom kids of last year. She is an energetic and beautiful lady !
Sorry I keep disappearing. I found this really cool website with teaching ideas and I have been browsing for over any hour. So many really cool ideas and I'm trying to bookmark them all on my Diigo account so I can find them later.
There wasn't any real reason that we went with A names other than we started something and then had to keep it going. Andrew was first. Then my husband saw the name Aric with an A in a baby name book and liked it. By number 3 decided to stay with A, he was suppose to be Austin, but then my mom came up with Adam-A-Andrew, D-Dana-A-Aric, M-Monte. When Annemarie came along I wanted her to be Michalena but no one would let me. Said she would have psychological issues! LOL!
Now I'm going away to bring up 97.1fm Washington and get set for LORI, JUDIE and FRANK aka DARTH. The way this computer acts early in the morning I'm afraid to have more than one window up at a time. BBL
Really find all the school-teaching and family talk between DanaMo, Hoda and Kay to be refreshing and inspiring ♥ BRAVO TO ALL OUT TEACHERS, CURRENT AND RETIRED, AND TO-BE !
Good morning! I just got here and I see my name. Hi, Margy. I am enjoying retirement, but think I will really enjoy it when school starts and I get to do what I want to.

Not sure what is on tap for me just yet. Hubby is already outside, so I may go join him to see what he is up to.
Humidity is lower, but already 94° here!! I'm guessing we'll pass on wood splitting today! ☺
This is Marvin's mentor/friend Scar
They are quite a pair - they can be friends one hour and enemy's the next.
But they are the rulers of this house..

Taking a break

JO - I just love your avatar of the cats "spooning."
Gotta love those cats!!
Dogs have owners; Cats have staff.
Oh my I thought I said GOOD MORNING/ Good AFTERNOON and I did not...
I hope it is a good day for all...
Hi, Hoda! And everyone else who is on since I left.
I think Loretta is lost on the old thread, but I left her a reminder!!
Lori, so glad that your Mom is doing so well!! God is good!!!
Linda---stay in today!! You've worked hard enough the last two!
Kay--I goofed....I think I said last night to Lolly that Judy was your daughter's MIL---sorry!!! Hey, LOLLY----she is Kay's son's MIL!!!
More bummer news......we made our plans to go down to the beach Monday......"our" house got a contract on it today. WE CAN'T WIN! :(
I too am disturbed about LORETTA'S possile job changes...I wondered about part time and job share so they could tailor the times to their needs...yet the best is that there be no changes and that they stay where they are, doing the times they are presently doing.
Saturday, July 30, 2011 1:23:00 PM
Lori, so glad your Mom is doing so well. I know she is enjoying having you there this weekend.
News just said that TX drought is worse than the Dust Bowl was...and that earth is so dry that houses are shifting on their foundations. Awful!
Believe me, I was much worse when I was younger!!! It's all part of Type A personality....I can't help it....but I've mellowed some with age!
Thank you, Steve.
Again, sorry for such a long post.
Afternoon, all!
Inventory is over, bunk beds picked up, truck packed, time to head out the door!
See you from the beach!
Safe travels! ((hugs))
Hi,
Hope everyone is well today. I have been busy, but have also looked in from time to time.
Hoda I think the Duchess of Cambridge is going to be a winner! I am so impressed with her.. I saw pic of her at the prenuptial party and she looked
lovely in green and especially the ring
she was wearing that matched.
Hoda - what was the stone of her wedding ring..
Lynn - saddened by your news BUT I just know you're going to get a fantastic
beach home - just may take a little more time. ((hugs))
Hubby and I have Mass at 5:00 and our
Catonsville daughter is to join us.
Afterwards we are going to dinner up at
the Braddock Inn which used to be the
ski lodge. I am interested in this
dinner........ Hope it is good!
Have been busy digging into the depths of my cluttered closet. I even found the outfit that went missing this spring.
I had begun to wonder if I had put it into one of the freecycle bags and sent it away.
Have decided that I just cannot buy any new clothes until I get things organized.
Back to work . . .
WOW Shirley - At first I thought you
were going to say " I've been busy
digging Post Holes' You scared me
there! I know how badley you want that fence.......... lol
BBL
LOL, Jo....Shirley better NOT be trying to dig post holes! Hard work!
I had an awful dream last night....that the fence had blown over....all 96' of it! Was so glad when daylight arrived and I saw that it was fine!
Judie,
Duh! Repeat.....Judie: are you still overwhelmed with cukes? Which pickles did you make??
My eagle shirt from the company that WV Susan (edgy su on momster mail) told us about arrived and it is BEAUTIFUL!!!! I am so impressed with the original artistry as well as the quality of the shirt.
www.wildlifetreasures.com
They are in Ely, MN---where the bears are!
Hello Eagle Family!
Lori
Your posts are joyful
Glad to know that your family's Morning Glori
is there this week-end
Lynn
Are you starting to feel like an elevator ???
Up and down, up and down....
So sorry about the house you and Irene and Franka are interested...got a contract :(
I seriously doubt there are adult bald eagles at Park's Gap, Lynn....
as often as I travel that road, I would probably see something - do see vultures...
but then again, I definitely have to keep my eyes on the road and my hands on the wheel on that road
Oh dear, I forgot to say
HELLO EAGLE PALS
and another round of
Happy Birthday to Vicky ! is it #29 or maybe #39 ☺ xoxo
and Happy Glorious 91st Birthday to GG
And I want to know two things:
Shirley: where besides in the closet did you find that outfit? Was it hiding underneath something else
and Paula
Did you find that bone that Nick has hidden ???
xoxoxo
Franka, that would be FRANK !
Okay, Shirley, sounds like a good research project you and Kathryn have tonight
I have delivered the two Jameses to their Roost...and am going through some serious separation anxiety :(
Really had some fun times with James, lots of laughs and close, fun times.
His T-shirt said "Pilot for Paws"
☺
And still no live feed.
Still cam shows what looks like breezes on the leaves
Lolly
Wonderful report about Dan... so happy to read of that.
I have had one MRI in my life, it was a Wide-Open one, for degenerative disc disease evaluation, it was painless, thump thump thump when the pics were being taken
and I had one CT scan for headaches...not so bad.
Loved Judie's post about her experience with hers....
Best wishes for Jack, and hope his fretting does not get the best of him....it will be okay, we got our prayers going for him too
and cyber (( Hugs ♥ )) across the many miles that our Eagle Corners and Momsters and Dadsters populate
xoxo
FedEx just delivered my copy of Bob Quinn's book!
Sounds like a wonderful evening Jo and Ed and family have planned, starting with Mass....
love the new avatar, Jo
and THANK YOU FOR THE AUGUST BIRTHDAY LISTINGS, AS USUAL !!
Well, feast the eyeballs, Lynn with that book !!!
disappearing for awhile here...
xoxo ttfn ♥
Lori, do you have the dogs with you?
Margy, how is The Landing? Who owns it now? Is it still Linda Statler? I haven't there in a few years. Love sitting by the window and watching the planes!
Pilots for Paws is SO great a group!! Wonder why he wasn't flying them all the way up?
I've got a Berry Buckle cake in the oven...as soon as it's done, I'm heading for the sofa for some back rest!
Jo, enjoy your evening out, please and thank you.
Oh Lolly...I am so sad for you about your yard :(
Lynn
I do not know who owns the restaurant now.
Hello Judie ♥
Yes, James the Wise, lives up to his name. What a neat kid. He reads people's name tags at stores we go to, restaurants and grocery stores, and always "Hello Carolyn" or "Hello Brandi" or whatever is on the name tag...- and then "my name is James, pleased to meet you."
A true Ambassador of Good Will
♥
He really enjoyed sharing Swinging Bridge with his father Friday.
Linda
Been reading your posts about wood-splitting and wood-stacking
Don't know you and Dennis do this in the heat we have been having !
Oh, I am tired, think I will find me a bigger glass of ice cold Spring Water and retire under the covers with a book for awhile.
Both James and his father could hear the upstairs "bowling ball " overnight !
But I will definitely be up before 7:30 Sunday Morning for THE INTERVIEW between Lori, Frank and Judie ☺
Saw Tiger Swallowtail butterflies big as goldfinches Friday at the creek, and also goldfinches !
And one Zebra Swallowtail, and a very friendly but twittery Spicebush Butterfly, they all defied good photographing !
Also saw an awesome Green Heron
Searched and searched the creek bank for Cardinal Flower, it is NOT OUT yet....will keep checking back
Okay
Separation Anxiety posting has worn me out, and probably you folks also...
Will check back later and see what others' news is
ttfn xoxoxox ♥
I am going to try to be up to listen to the interview, but may not make it! 6:30 is awfully early for me!
Margy, your James sounds so great!
My BIL, Dan, always know the history of every waiter. He always asks where they are from, he also asks young waiters about their education. He is a retired superintendent. He is their friend and knows all about them by the time the meal is over. LOL
Thank You L♥ri
Oh, is the interview at 6:30??
need to know but details are fuzzy for me these last few days
Just talked with the Mama.....105° in the St. Louis suburb of Warrenton---on her patio.
Lolly, what kind of questions does Jack have about the MRI?
IF anyone is watching golf on CBS--it is at White Sulphur Springs, WV at The Greenbrier! Recently under new ownership with lots of remodeling/revitalization.....it used to have an underground bunker/fall-out shelter for the pres and other government VIP's....it was always TOP SECRET! Now it is open to the public for viewing.
WANDA hope you are not sore from the fall with the cake
PAULA did the bone ever show up?
MEMA JO love the love in your avatar AWWWWW sooo cute
I am caught up on the blog now to go take a neck break BBL Mindless TV awaits me
Hoda, the bride looked very lovely! Great that the "other" RC were low key. Princess Anne sure does look like Charles...(and Phillip)....such sharp, harsh features. Doesn't resemble her Mother at all.
Margy, the interview is at 6:30 for me.....7:30 for you.
Lynn, the questions Jack has is more about what they are looking for, not the MRI.
Judy, is your avatar one of your creations? May I borrow it? Thought about posting it on fb with "How hot is it?"
I GOT IT OFF THE INTERNEST I google melting pictures and there are some here is the link
melting pictures
YOU CAN TAKE IT OR CHECK OUT THE LINK MAY GET IT BETTER THERE THAN THE SMALL PIC ON THE BLOG

LOLLY If you go on that link check out page 10 a half melting woman pretty cool
Here is another on I found on that site
How will we know if there is a eagle in the nest when we can't really see it with the still cam
:-(
Guess I should think about supper. Too hot to cook!
Thanks Judy!
Whoo hoo...at the beach...time for some food and a beverage :)

LOL
Thanks !!!
I think when the temperatures cool down, WHENEVER THAT IS, then the Eagles shall visit the nest again, because that's what it took the LAST time for them to flutter down into the Palace
Enjoy the Paradising, Paula and Nick ♥ ☺
HOW COME WHY ??? DO 9-VOLT BATTERIES HAVE TO BE SO DIFFICULT TO CLAMP ON THE THE RECEPTACLE !!!
I just don't have the oooomph to push that one end into the other.
Sigh...
Okay, done venting
Lolly, tell Jack that they are looking for primarily any deteriorated or collapsed discs, nerve or cord impingements, spurs, degenerative disc disease, and worst case scenario: tumor.
Margy, what are you trying to put the battery in? I know how hard some things can be! Kills the thumbs! put a quarter over it and push on it---for some reason, it works for me!
battery backup for my clock radio, Lynn.....in case the power goes out I do not want to miss the interview in the morning !!
I did get it, and had to squish the one end against a hard surface on the radio itself...
but thanks for that tip !!!
Oooh !!
Just got Shirley's link to WASH -AM set up,
"Play that Funky Music " playing,
ought to turn it up waaaaaaaay loud, what do you think ?? ☺
the other radios are not picking up the station too well...
Thanks Shirley !!
No, my radio doesn't pick it up well at all, either, Margy. Gotta do it online! Truck does okay, tho'!
correction: from Cairo to here on Skype...sorry.
Maybe I will just SING real loud in the shower !
ttfn
back in awhile xoxox
no problems with the weather there Lynn ??
Hope the trip is a good one for the kids
can anyone remember what else I was about to post ?? LOL
Oh I remember:
my posts about doing things LOUD here are related to the sometimes LOUD conditions upstairs
I am just kidding, I will not be doing these things
speaking of skype,
my brother Prairie Dog John and his wife Judy, skype daily with their second oldest son in Seoul, Korea....keeps them very comfortingly connected from no matter where they are
okay NOW to go sing in the shower ♪ ♫ ♪ ♫ ☺

Stop! Get away! Leave me alone! It's too early! No! I don't want to! Just five more minutes, please?
Stuuupid sandperson. Clearly having difficulty escaping the sandperson's clutches.
Paula, glad to know you arrived safely. Enjoy!
Well, I think it is time to try to get some sleep. Need to be up early tomorrow to listen to some interview I keep reading about.
The night light is on for those who need to arise in the darkness and for those who come in late from the West Coast. Restful sleep for all.
I don't know much about skype, Hoda, but gather you must have a webcam?? So cool that you and your sister were able to spend time "face to face" as it were.
Praying that things settle down over there.
Stopping by to say hello and good night. I will see you tomorrow.
Going to take my bath. Liesl is down for the night. BBIALW.
Skype--I used it to talk to Susan when she was in Ecuador. Used my iPhone.
Good Night Judie

Judie, I am looking forward to the morning interview...and I am preparing to send you an email now..
but you will probably get it in the morning ☺
I DID not take that shower yet...
like a cat, maybe I do not like water !
Hi Shirley also !
The British Royal Wedding Arrivals to Church The Princess Royal's Daughter's Wedding in Scotland
OH that would be Good Night Shirley!
And see you on the other bbialw side, Lynn
Great video, Hoda. Did Mark Phillips attend and walk her down the aisle?
Goodnight, Shirley. Hope you and Kat had a nice dinner, and successful dog food shopping!
Wonder how many of us will be here in the morning for a radio show???!!! It's excting, isn't it?
How is everyone tonight?
Went over to my neighbors...her sisters were over...we had a nice time chatting and had some beverages :)
I am going to plagiarize from Shirley's post of Friday Afternoon, and re-post the link to

did you get there in time for any interesting bird sightings ?
or any other creatures for that matter?
Is Gracie the other dog there also ?

that might be a Dinosaur thing but that should not be a problem I don't think
appreciate all the Royal Daughter's Daughter's wedding facts today, Hoda... you give a very lovely description of things

Hi Margy!! Yes, saw the invite, thank you. Will have to decline. LOL Too tired from yesterday's trip. ☺
I haven't seen any lightening bugs here at all this week. They probably got fried!
Paula, are your neighbor ladies your age? How nice that you've made friends with them! And that they like to share some brewski's!!
News almost over, so I am bidding all adieu....sleep sweetly. Hope I dream of a Barry White voice---SO neat, Margy!
Prayers for all.
Nite, Lynn!
Have not seen lightening bugs here this summer, but it has been so hot I have not spent many nights sitting out. That could explain it. LOL
Was going to turn on the TV for the news but decided I did not want to hear anymore depressing news and depressing weather reports. I did go out this evening and water the roses on the fence. Think they have suffered. It was almost decent out. If I have wet feet it helps.
Paula - Glad you made it to the beach and still had some time for a good evening with neighbors!
I think I'm heading to bed as well!
Saying healing prayers for all that need them!
May God Bless and Protect us and the critters we so dearly love ♥♥♥
Good Night
Okay 10-4 on all those last posts, folks,
going to give the plants a drink and then head to bed like I said I was
Good Night, Sleep Sweeeeetly
xoxo ♥
Margy, thanks for the link to the station. I had found it once before but bookmarked it now. Will listen in the morning IF I wake up. Not setting an alarm.
Everyone is saying nighty nite, so think I will too. Going to read a bit before heading to bed.
Sweet dreams!
See you in the morning light!
Hello from southcentral PA.
Been having computer problems so I haven't been on much the last few days but please know I'm thinking and praying for all of you.
Im going to try to catch up with today's posts at least.
I'll be back when/if I can.
My email program is making me more grey hair (what I haven't pulled out.
God bless, Di
GOOD EVENING TO ALL...
Don't know why it's always so late when I pop on here in the evening. Too many dirty dishes to wash and too much mindless TV.
So sleepy I can barely type
Wishing you all a restful night
and a very special Sunday♥
Goodnight all and sweet dreams. God Bless and enjoy the interview in the morning...
Good morning! Still dark out!
Good morning DAAMO, good to read you this morning. When is daylight on the East Coast?
The link worked great, now what time am I suppose to listen? LOL! Geez I have a bad memory. I'll scroll back and see if I can find it.
Good morning Hoda, it's just you and me so far...wish we would get some eagles!
Maybe DANAMO is not answering because I mityped her name last post???LOL I hope not...
I am going to make a pot of tea. Perhaps others will be on by then???
DANAMO I think on the east coast it is at 7:30 as LOLLY said it was 6:30 for her and MARGY had clarified that it would be when she will listen...7:30 AM EDT
It's getting light now. Not sure what time sunrise actually is...
sorry Hoda, I jumped to look at another link and got sucked in...LOL!
Ours did.
There is a very pretty shade of yellow on the middle leaf. The tone and the hue is lovely...
Wish there was an eagle under that leaf!
Yes indeed an eagle, even under the leaves, would be a terrific thing...stay out for a short while so we can know for sure who it was.
How many children do you have DANAMO? Did you ever explain how Raschida sp? got her name?
Good morning Eagle Buds
No live cam, no eagle, no interview for me, no fair I wish I could add no work that would be nice
G☼☼D M☺RNING H♥DA and DANAM♥ !
LOL
Well I am going to go give my bed another go...Maybe JUDIE's Sandperson will catch up with me...Talk to you all later.
HODA I work 7 to 4 and our weather is hot suppose to be in 90's as always that is Fl OTWIT HAGD
OK the sandperson can wait...what is this about the A team? Are all your own children with A names? That is cool!!!
Bye JUDYE have a great day.
JUDYE you avatar is so funny...the fan is melting OH NO OH NO OH NO!!!
LOL!
Thank you Kay for the compliments!!! :)
DANA, I love your mother's construction of Adam--so meaningful ! I love the name Annemarie so am happy others talked you out of the M name ! ☺
Now I'm going away to bring up 97.1fm Washington and get set for LORI, JUDIE and FRANK aka DARTH. The way this computer acts early in the morning I'm afraid to have more than one window up at a time. BBL
Hail, hail....is the gang all here??
Good Morning Eagle Pals..
