Lolly So glad Jack is feeling much better. I know you said they he has a physical each year. Like Ed's heart surgeon told Ed. Many people have come out from having physicals each year and then one year fall dead from a heart attack. I was just trying to get Jack to get some kind of doctors help since he was in so much pain. I'm sure you can respect that.
Hope you two have a wonderful trip. Be ready to tell us all about it please. ( :

Paula sad news about the eagle hitting the power lines. Don't you just hate the answer they got when they made the first call. It was great for the lady and the guy that did their very best to try and save the eagle. Even using her own money. Those people were truly a blessing.
I just opened another browser just to see if the cam was really without wind and I went down to the oc and ELBERT said the male was in the nest DID we miss something yesterday 4;39
JUDYE I noticed that too,the OC post. It all depends on his time zone. I did not see any eagles from 4:20 PM PDT on till after the nest light came on and I shut down...

Thanks DANA. Her family were in Nelson yesterday to witness the parade and to see how much she was appreciated. The STARS and STIPES werre flying alongside the Maple Leaf and it was touching to everyone that there was a contingency from the US here to honour her too.

I have been very affected by reading the European papers today. The chap who did the shooting and the explosion in Oslo, Norway, does not think he broke the law!!!The most he could get is 21 years in Jail unless they can prove he is a danger to society every five years following the original sentence. I hope they give him a lot of help in jail. He does not seem like he has got it together.He is the son of a retired Diplomat.

Then helped Fubby bring in his new lounge chair. Thank goodness it came apart in 2 pieces.We both ended up taking Panda naps, so his new chair has been officially broken in.(I know you shouldn't end a sentence in a proposition, but?)One cat likes it, & the other isn't sure yet.
I'm going to wear a kokopeli Indian shirt tomorrow, hoping to simulate rain dances!!By the time I get done watering plants, I'm more wilted than they are!

Hedgie-Lynn before you would ever have to do this again. I think I would check with builders of these types of homes. Even though you had one before that did NOT leak. Talk to them about the leaking.
I wouldn't be surprised if something couldn't be done. Now a days they can do all kinds of things....blow insulation in between walls etc.
I walked the dogs this evening. It was much more uncomfortable than last night. Temp was 88, but heat index was 108. We did not walk far, but I walked them separately, so I got the longest walk.
But I need the exercise.

SHIRLEY, sorry for my abrupt departure earlier. We got hit by the second violent storm in 15 hours. No damage here, just water logged. The heavy damage was in Grove City earlier and downtown this evening. What an unbelievable summer this is.
Thanks to all who've welcomed me back so warmly and those who are keep my friend Judy in your thoughts and prayers ! I missed being here soooo much. I talked a lot about "my" eagles and the Momsters and how much you mean to me. I think Barb was probably thinking, "Kay, you need to get a life" at first, but gradually she got caught up in it and asked me to send eagle cam links to a Tucson neighbor. She thinks Eagle watching may be right up his alley.

DANAMO, I'm sure your cousin, Frankie, is pleased that your entire family could share in his happiness ! My dad was the last of 8 children and was called a "change of life baby". He had one niece who was several months older than he and and several nephews who were born when he was an infant and toddler. They were his best friends and playmates. I have some old pics of him and my mother double dating with his nephew.

Recently saw on the news about the Norway madman & his shooting spree was to rid the country of all Muslims!He needs life sentence in a mental institution.
Just talked to TX. Daughter has to go to Atlanta in AM, but will be too busy to visit Pandas. That was our little secret plan last winter to go there and see Pandas. BOO
She went to Albuquerque end of last week.Weather there was pretty good she said---90's & dry! 3 planes landed back home in Austin at the same time. After waiting 1 1/2 hours for luggage, her bag wasn't there. Fri. night they called her to say they found it would deliver it to her house. She tried to stay up, but then they called at 2AM & did she want it Sat???? DUH
Watched a show and took a snooze. Y-a-w-n!
Alaska: mama bear and cub attacked and mauled 4 teens....2 critical, 2 non-life threatening, plus some others that did not require treatment. Yikes!

My cats have done a number on mine. Supposed to be real leather but we call it Leatherette. My fourth couch since I've been here, so don't feel bad. My living room is so narrow it's hard to find something comfy that doesn't take up the whole room.

Dadgumit ! My computer is doing it's early morning glitchy thing. Have rebooted, deleted cookies and browsing history and it's already past 7, which is usually when I take off for newspapers, e-mail, etc... If it goes out again I'll just give up til' later in the day.

True story. Mom opened up my birth certificate when it arrived in the mail -- thank goodness -- some one made a TYPO naming me Lori ELSIE. My mother insisted on sending it back and getting it right...my Dad told her not to worry, she could name the next one Elise. Thank goodness Mother is a woman of her own mind and had it fixed, so I am NOT Lori Elsie!

Thelma, when my mom was pregnant with my baby sister, they were trying to come up with a name. It was between Allene, Aileen, or Eileen. They gave her Eileen.
Lori, my middle name is Allene. I think I just posted that. Sometimes I can't remember anything. I could have just been thinking it. : ))))
Perhaps I should clarify the naming pattern of my sister. My dad and brother died, mother re-married and had 3 more daughters.
That would explain why my sisters were Kathryn (deceased), Mary & Eileen.
